Today, security systems are typically monitored through either cellular, internet, or a phone line connection.
Over half of those surveyed by BestHomeSecurityCompanys.com said that they would prefer a wireless/cellular option. This type of monitoring does not require the system to be wired or connected to various equipment. It also prevents wiring/installation damage.
The next monitoring preference of home security customers is an internet connection. Some did express concerns about internet speeds slowing down or what happens when connection goes down.
The phone line connection is usually hard-wired into the home and is a little more outdated which explains the lower preference percentage.
Those who responded “not important” also admitted that they were unsure what their system would support or did not know the difference between the connection options.
