Do not use ADT. They are deceptive. They have you sign stuff digitally never send you a copy, then change the story. I signed up a deal over the phone which included installation for free with a 3 year deal. They said they would review the details when the technician showed up. When he did, he started installing immediately. When I asked him to see the details, he told me it would be $1200 for installation. I told them to cancel at the time. He had a manager call me and we reduced the rate $500 which I paid. I signed the "contract" on the technicians Ipad. I never received a copy.of the contract. The tech told me someone else needed to come out to install the outdoor cameras which was scheduled. They never showed up. Now they are saying that the cameras are not included. THey could not explain what the $500 I paid was for. Their staff was rude, flippant and could care less. They are more crooked than the crooks they claim they will protect you from

Horrible company! Not transparent with there packages. They end up charging thousands more and if you try to negotiate they threaten to report you to credit agencies. ALL Of their tellers are condescending it must be part of their training. Just a horrible experience. AVOID at all costs!

I had cancelled my account 2 months ago because my contract was done. 2 months later, the company still withdrew 2 payments from my bank without authorization because I was told that eventhough I called and cancelled, they can still charge you bank account 30 days. Then they'll cancel the debit. Short version: your bank account will still be charged another month or 2 months before they close the account.

Waited 4 times for an installation technician to come. They called only once on the same day to reschedule, the other times they juste didn’t show up. When I called their customer service, they just couldn’t find our file and were completly confused. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, after the tech didn’t show up after the 4th appointment, I’ve been told the supervisor was on break and to call later. Very very poor customer service. I’ve never seen such thing. I cancelled everything. Sorry, but for a security company, they just don’t inspire trust. How can I rely on such unreliable people for my safety? A real joke... save your time and money and go elsewhere!

ADT is a horrible company. The equipment stopped working and my new home was unsecured for 3 months. The alarm would go off and no one would call or nothing. We changed to Vivint, who are awesome, and ADT never called even though all there equipment was disconnected. The customer service lady blamed it on me and said I should have called someone. How in the he’ll did I know you was not monitoring my home until we disconnected you. I would not recommend them to secure a dog house. They are rude and obnoxious. I spent 26 years in the military and I have never dealt with such crazy. And to top it off refused to detail my last bill. We have received 3 last bills with 3 different prices. Done done done! Don’t get into a contract with ADT you will regret it.

Horrible and shady business practices. Actual costs & amounts I should expect to be charged to my credit card was NOT discussed. Neither was the installation fee! I was only told my card would be charged for two months and I’d get a $200 Visa gift card.. I’ve have 3 charges since 7/29/19. Then to cancel service you have to pay 75% of your contract.

Totally unhappy with customer service period I've been told wrong information about credit pulls that my credit wouldn't have a hard hit but few day later there it is a hard hit with multiple points off my credit. Not to add more salt to my Wounds they over charge me for installation about 100$ more that was presented to me. I’m infuriated to the point that I wouldn’t mind leaving a bad review every month until I recover my credit again

these guys are crooks, right from the day of the install they charged me for items that they didn't supply thinking that I would not notice, after I counted the equipment that was installed VS what I was billed for I contacted them for a immediate refund, which I got but I was still very upset. Their monitoring cost is higher than most all other companies and even with my ridiculous three year contract they raised it a additional $10 to over $62 a month. Just another pain in the ass their cancellation process is also ridiculous and I have gotten several answers from their representatives on how to go about it , very frustrating to deal with!

Beware of contracts. They will not let you out, even after 2.5 years. Continual transfers as sales associates continue to bully you to stay. Once they accept you’re leaving they continue to bill you and refuse to refund. I will NEVER suggest this company to friends or family. Terrible customer service

Overpriced. Endless hidden fees. Pushy and condescending sales group. Lengthy contracts. Promised one price, contract ended up being another. Said price included fire monitoring, it didn't. Promised a 'large' discount on home insurance, it was 1 dollar. But it wasn't a problem with their sales tactic, it was a problem with my insurance. In short, what you want doesn't matter with ADT, you are just a simpleton. They know best and if you disagree they will tell you why their opinion is fact and yours is irrelevant.

ADT lied in their advertising, it states that you have 6 months to cancel, but I tried to cancel. NO they don't! I called before the 30 days in fact I called before 7 days to cancel. I realized I was paying $52.99 for the $19.99 package. They would not let me cancel! BEWARE!!! So now I am stuck paying $52.99 for a $19.99 basic package. They have your bank information and take it out monthly, so there is nothing I can do!

I decided to sell my home and asked if I could suspend my contract until my new home was completed and then I would transfer the service. I was told no and that I had to cancel the service, then start it again. I explained to the rep that my new home was a smart home and asked if ADT would be compatible. The rep said yes. I then find out that it was not. I called and spoke with the corporate office and was told that I would have to pay $1049 for the cancellation if I didn't have the system installed. Then they threatened to send the bill to collections. So being left with either installing ADT and disconnecting my smart home as well as voiding the warranty, I reluctantly paid the bill. According to their website I would have had to have moved to an area with no service capability at all, but then what's the difference? By the way, they wanted me to cold call someone anywhere in the country and ask if they would take over my contract.

I called ADT as a new potential customer, Aug 20, 2019 at 5:22pm, San Diego, CA time. Representative who answered the phone was very rude, she hung up on me. (RED FLAG!!!) Before she HUNG up on me, this is what transpired: I called. I was answered by an automated system. I followed the prompts. A representative (should I say her name?) answered the phone. She asked, for what reason do I need home surveilance, and if "did something happened?" I answered "I am being gangstalked. Do you know what that is?" I told her "they" came into my home, moved things around inside my home, got into my refrigerator and did things to the food.They also get onto my yard and do bad things. They tore up my American Flag. So, I need home security." She said she didn't know what gangstalking is, and she thought I meant hard core gang members. I said, "no," and I tried to explain what I meant by gangstalking - after all, she did ask if something happened. I asked if she's ever heard of community gang stalking. Again, she said, "no." I said, "You're in the business of home security and you've never heard of that?" She got offended. My intention was NOT to offend anyone. I was trying to explain what "gangstalking" is. She said, "Just because I work here, doesn't mean I know everything and she HUNG UP. So, I called again. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The 2nd person who answered the phone said she would connect me with the manager. She connected me with customer relations (or customer service). I explained what happened, all she said was that "she's sorry." She gave me a few quotes as to how much services would cost. So, based on all that: NOPE! I won't take a chance with ADT! I now wonder if ADT gives false advertisement. Sorry ADT.

I called ADT and scheduled an appointment for three weeks later. The day of the appointment they were supposed to be here at 8:00 AM. At 10:30 they called and said they were in the wrong state and had my ZIP Code wrong. The other office would be another three hours before arriving. Very high pressure salesman who smelled bad quoted me $7500 for the install. I asked him to leave and after negotiating for another 30 minutes he came down to $1200 and with only 2 cameras and an outdoor light and 4 sensors difference?! Expensive stuff or scam? We signed the contract on a tablet that barely worked and he sped through it and left. I received an email contract and immediately noticed the address was completely wrong. 2 hours on phone and I was assured the contract would be redone and sent to me....in a week?! Next day I noticed the motion detector on camera not working. Called adt but they couldn’t resolve so the put me on hold for 35 minutes while they called the installation contractor. Disconnected call for some reason. I wait 30 minutes thinking I would get a call back. Nope. Called them back, another 20 minutes, then troubleshooting by contractor and decision to send out tech the next day. While on the phone they once again confirmed I still had the wrong address and if I had an alarm the police would respond to another city. Tech no showed, called to check what happened and was told they tried but couldn’t get in touch with the tech or his supervisor. Btw they never tried to call me either, I called them after waiting around all day. Called adt to cancel contract while still within my 3 days. ADT said it’s not their contract and patched me through to contractor answer service. 1 hour 10 minute hold time when someone answers and emails me cancel documentation. Faxed documents that minute by 3 different fax services just in case. Next afternoon no word from adt or contractor. Call adt to file a complaint, they tell me corporate takes up to 48 hours before they will call me back to hear my complaint. I then call installation contractor and they deny getting my cancellation notice but say it may take 48 hours to be in the system. I ask to speak to a manager and they inform me there just an answering service and there isn’t anyone to speak too. I call American Express and file a billing dispute. And on, and on, and on. Horrible experience! You have been warned. They suck.

I give ZERO Star reviews to ADT period. ADT customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. ADT services are too expensive, when we can get much better security services for very low price. I am pissed off by their services and wanted to switch to some other service and wanted to discontinue their service. ADT provided six months money back guarantee and refund of all installation and monitoring money. However when I called ADT at Phone 833-238-8423 and connected to Account Management Department one associate named Jeff from Account Management who gave me the worst horrible terrible customer experience with ADT. This person Jeff was so rude, yelling, screaming and repeating same statement “ This call should be two way. This call should be two way. Don’t down talk to me”. Evan when I was silent and not talking, this person kept on repeating “ Don’t down talk to me. This call should be two way” It’s very unfortunate ADT is having such untrained employees in Account Management department who are rude, ill-mannered, crude, unrefined employees in ADT team. He was so rude and abruptly disconnected my phone call. ADT needs to take corrective action on training basic customer service skills. ADT needs to review my phone call with Jeff and take action, if not we as customer will take legal action for allowing such annoying, agitated, rude untrained aggressive employees harass and annoy customers who doesn’t want to get their service at all. Again I called back and spoke with an Associate Cynthia, she disconnected the call when I introduced everyone on the call. Never Never Never Never Never I would recommend anyone ADT. ZERO stars to ADT. I should have even given ZERO star for their worst poor customer service. If ADT doesn’t respond and take action on a rude and unprofessional behavior of this associate from Account Management, as customer I may need to take legal action against ADT. ADT associates I spoke to them are abusive, aggressive and rude. ADT needs to train their associates how to communicate and basic customer service skills.

Buyer beware. The ADT sales rep presented the "bundled" system and offered no other options. I am a first time security system buyer and the sales rep took advantage of my ignorance. I failed to do my homework and was gullible enough to trust the ADT sales rep. Now I have equipment I don't need or want. I have made several attempts to contact the sales rep with no response. Local customer service is a ghost. Guess, I'm locked into a contract and service provider I no longer trust!

Been with ADT for over 3 years never an issue. Called to add a camera and was told it would be free. The installers came and hooked it up and now I'm getting charged over $300 for it and a touch screen I never got. Customer service are not able to give me a straight answer. Now to do me a favor they wanted only to charge me half. I never agreed to that. Worst customer problem resolution ever.

I recently moved and less than a month ago had a guy knocking on my door saying that when I bought my home it came with ADT set up...ok. I got talked into getting the system WITHOUT being told it's a 3yr contract. I've been having non stop issues with the system since they installed it. It keeps shutting off on its own and after 2 weeks of trying to get ahold of the company about it... the guy said he's never seen a system do that and it's probably just the updates...... when I tried to just cancel all together since I didn't want to pay for something that didn't even work...I got the ring around until finally a manager tells me "it's your responsibility to read what your signing. You signed so now your locked in. Either keep the contact or pay the 75% cancellation fee". So now I'm a widow with 4 kids having to pay this ridiculous amount every month for something that doesn't even work with shitty customer service and no way out fit the next 3yrs...... I'm extremely pissed off. I will be sharing their crappy con business and telling all my friends and family NOT to do business with them. This is ridiculous

This company sucks. I’m not gonna spend time explaining my experience... I will say that’s it’s very similar to all the other negative reviews. I tried to cancel after 26 days and only then learned that I had only 3 days to cancel! They scam you! The install tech told me I had thirty days to cancel! After calling I learned that on page 5 of the contract I signed it said I had three days. This company knows that after three days we wise up and know we’ve been scammed. Terrible company. Do not sign up with them!!!

Had a tech come out to look at my doorbell ringer as it wasnt recording right.the first thing out the techs mouth was it was my internet and I tryed to explain to him it wasnt cause the prob just started about 2 weeks ago and I've had my internet for 3 months so he continued to argue with me about why my camera isnt working And never recieved a courtesy call that they will be on there way

On top of being expensive, ADT purposely makes the process of cancelling service extremely time-consuming and onerous, and the customer "service" representative was about as rude as I've ever experienced once I stated that I would not be using ADT at my new home (I was cancelling service at my old house due to a move). Any company that makes it this difficult to cancel their service clearly offers a terrible service.

Dishonesty of what is told to you and what they put in their contract and then tell you to just sign the contract that has all the information that they just told you but in reality they have upped the monthly charges. Customer service is rude and unwilling to listen to you, tells you too bad so sad you are locked into a contract unless you want to cancel and pay 75% of the remaining contract. All of these bad reviews about the same issue - why is there not being something done about this company

Have ADT not happy with it , it is alway down the cameras , cameras do not pick up all activity’s that is going on out side your home, contract sucks you add any add ions they extend your contract, Old school looking monitor box on wall called to ask for a up to date one since I have only had it a year and that’s what they put in, sale person goes nope you got to wait tell contract is up , so stuck with old school one and we are paying allot for this , we have the cameras, and monitoring, will not do ADT when contract is up..

I had ADT service for years. I paid about $55.00/month. When I was out of the state, I got an email that an alarm was going off. I called ADT, was put on hold for about 15 minutes, and then told if somebody could meet security at the house, they would send someone. Ummm?? After further digging, they would have sent just a non police security officer to check the perimeter. If it appeared like a forced entry, they would notify police. My response was "so let me get this straight. I can be in my room with a knife to my throat getting raped and have to wait for somebody to come potentially from across town to investigate, THEN have the police called???!!" Maddening. ADT responded that this is an issue I would have to take up with my local police department. I have been trying to cancel since i moved from the property back in February. I am put on hold for close to a half an hour each time. I have made multiple calls to cancel and each time given another reason why they couldn't cancel. 1."You didn't remember your password". Not true! 2."You must have spoken with somebody from ADT directly. There is no record you tried to cancel." Uh, who else was I supposed to call? 3. "You can't cancel on the phone. You need to send a fax request to cancel". Also, side note, you still have to pay an additional 30 days after you cancel, which I thought I had done in February. I just called back today to confirm after I sent a fax (with all of my contact information) that my account was cancelled. I kindly requested to be reimbursed from March, was told again there was no record I had called at all. Even in July to get the fax number. I did get more frustrated. I talked to a few different people and was told something slightly different from each of them. I eventually, just said "bye" and hung up. So, we will see if I actually am cancelled or if I have a bill in September. I had read so many bad reviews on others difficulty with canceling. Buyer beware. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY On July 23, 2019 I contacted ADT about their security services. They made me an offer and asked for a installation fee. I told them I would have to wait till friday as I could not cover it at the time. They then told me they could do it by check by phone and it wouldnt come out of my account for 3 days. It came out the same day, nearly overdrawing my account. I called them back the minute I saw it, same day. I cancelled everything and was told i would be refunded withing 3 to 5 days. Didnt happen. I called and complained. They said sorry and that it would be expedited. A couple days later.....still nothing. I called yet again and was assured that it be in my bank by the end of the day. Nothing....It is now 08/07/2019. I called yet again and was given excuses upon excuses. Once again I am being told it has been escalated to upper managment, whom I was not allowed to talk to and that it will be maybe 30 days before I get my refund! I get a different answer every time I call but no refund.

As far as an Alarm monitoring company I have no issues with ADT, but when your contract ends and you don't want to renew the nightmare begins. I contacted ADT two months in advance telling them via their rmail, That I was not going to renew. I was told I had to contact customer service via telephone. I contacted Customer Service via Telephone, they said they would transfer me to account services, where I was told the wait time would be at least fifteen minutes. I don'r have fifteen minutes to waste holding n the phone, so I sent a letter to ADT Account Services and then tried five more times over the next two weeks to contact ADR Customer Services by telephone. Same result hold time of fifteen minutes or longer. I wonder if they are grossly understaffed or if this is ploy to squeeze more money out of the customer? They are still trying to bill me! Stay away from ADT!

I've been using ADT since 2016 and when I need to cancel it, there was a trick. after I gave them notice of cancellation and I disconnect their device to other system, ADT kept charging me for 5 more months without any notice. when I called them to find out, they said that I missed my signature on my cancellation note. Without sending email or mail that I needed to resend the note with signature, they just kept charging me even though the device was disconnected for 5 months. When I asked ADT to send me the note email about missing signature, they said " We don't have the email but there is internal note that we sent" ok...…..we have internal note that " we canceled ADT since March " I didn't get any secure service for 5 months and I & all of my employee didn't get any email about cancellation not being proceed. please do right thing and refund my money.

As others have stated ADT is horrible about keeping dates and arriving on time. The fact they give a 5 hour window and they fail to get there speaks volumes about how much they care about their customers (who pay their bills). IGetting ADT to install our system required 3 five hour windows that were cancelled by ADT. The third attempt I had to get several managers involved. That should never happen. I have had ADT out to my house three times in the past 4 months. The issue still not resolved. One tech disarmed have of our zones since he.couldn’t figure out the problem.

Wow. These reviews say everything about my experience with ADT. Terrible customer service. A system that was never fully functional. Very expensive and high maintenance. Old home security model. I am going to pay the exorbitant cancellation fee just to be done with this company.

Was told that I could move system. ADT sent a third party Defenders to install. Now ADT says that I need to purchase a totally new system due to Defenders installing it. A loss of $1000 equipment because of a lie.

Worst customer service experience ever. I will be disconnecting my service at the end of the billing cycle. They are very unprofessional, I was transferred to an from different departments, and finally I hung up. Do better ADT!

Had my first experience with being burglarized while away from home. ADT agent was not able to give me any details. Stated that they had dispatched the police. There was no follow up on what was stolen or if there was any damage to the property. The agent offered to provide me with my local police departments number. When I asked for the number, they told me to use Google. This is a security firm that is ranked on reputation and not actual service. I do not recommend using ADT.

ADT control system is the worst, video monitoring is not efficient- often stalling on the app. I called technical support because the cameras aren’t working. I was basically told that I had to fix it myself or be charged for service fees if a technician comes to my home. My service was installed in April and I tried to cancel today (Aug 03), I was told I’d be charged $1200 to cancel. What happen to the 6 month guarantee or your money back? False advertising. ADT has become a scam.

Caution, ADT can raise your rate, while other top companies lock in your rate. Canceling ADT today. A rip Off !!!
