    ATT digital should NOT be in the service of protecting people’s homes and families. My equipment has not worked one too many times for something unfortunate to happen in our home.     AT& T digital Life was the worst security system I ever purchased. There customer service will lie to you and then when you want to cancel they hit you with the cancellation fee. The service from the moment of installation was a nightmare. First, was the security door lock which locked my entire family out of home due to the lock not working properly,. approximately two days after it was installed. Called customer service there was nothing they could do to get us access to home,so they informed us to contact lock smith and that they would reimburse us. So we did call lock smith and the next day they inform us they would not reimburse us. I wanted to cancel service at this point when they informed me that I would be subject to an early cancellation fee. So, I tried to work with them and they came out a changed the lock on the door, which still never worked properly. Secondly we notice that the system would read not arming. So we called again and they told us nothing was wrong we just had to pull the panel box off the wall and it would reset. The last and final problem was when we walked in the house and we failed to disarm the system. We noticed an hour later that we did not disarm the system and that the system never went off. Again we called and AT&T keeps lying could do nothing and threatens with early cancellation fees. The camera does not record, and a thief can completely burglarize your home and AT&T will still keep charging you for a system that does not work at all. So, they can charge me for the early cancellation fee, I will see them in court because I am the consumer and nobody should have to pay for a security system that absolutely does not work.     The sales person at the AT&T store sold me the system for one price ($29.99 + camera I paid $106.95 upfront) and once it was installed I was told a different price ($49.99+tax). I would never gotten the system if I knew it was that much, ADT is cheaper and is better established. AT&T are not willing to honor the error stating I need to reach out to the sales person to get them to notate my account. I can’t find the sales person so I’m stuck. The installation was done poorly, the camera sent was for indoor instead of outdoor, the keypad is now disabled because its still not working properly. I highly advise against getting AT&T digital life. They have not perfect this system and customer service is poor at best. 3 hours on the phone and my issue is still unresolved. Third will be the 3rd attempt at home visit and I have no security until they get it fixed.

    Day 1 my cameras did not work. I called waited for about 45 min. Support person told me lack of video stream due to my internet carrier and refused to help. Oddly,the outsourced employee was talking over me from a script. Must go on a lot.was eventually transfered to my ATT uverse carrier and told that it was told i need to pay $15 a mo for technical support!!!!that was never disclosed! Calling again in a wasted attempt to reach a superviser ,i reached an employee that claimed she had no idea who digitallife was!!! My tech who left a card never called back. Do not deal with ATT!!!!!!!!!! I cant even get a hold of anyone to dismantle and take back their equipment whic has not worked!!!

    Equipment does not work properly. We have had a technician come to our house 3 times. Very poor customer service the techs and support have no idea what they are doing. I have made over 15 calls in a month because of faulty equipment! Use another company, don’t waste your time or money!!

    I’ve had the service for 2 weeks and after 6 tech visits (that’s right, 6) it still doesn’t work correctly. There are charges to return the system and cancel so I call them out every other day and they fumble around trying to fix it. I’m embarased for them at this point.

    Everything is horrible except the technicians who come to the house. In one year I needed techs out at least eight times.
    The worst part is that various vitals alarms stopped working, and I didn’t even know it. The system isn’t set up to tell you any more…it used to send text but AT&T brilliantly discontinued the feature. So I paid for month without knowing it wasn’t working. When I called to complain, I was told I should sign into the account to check the system. The rep didn’t seem to understand that was why i was paying them.

    Now on top of everything, I have a large credit and the account is close. I called and was told they have no way to refund the money. Are you freaking kidding me? This is ridiculous!

    Att digital is the worse company I have ever commited to. They have been to my house 3 times in two months. They want let you out of your contract. Tinight they came out and told me I need sensors and I will have to pay for them. . Although they did inot replace the ones from another alarm company that came with the house 8 yrs ago. Don’t be taken please. Use someone else anybody. I am very unhappy with there service.

    I have read and seen some of the reviews and I do not agree with most of them. I had the ATT Digital Life installed recently and I have had no issues with the system. The main control box is a little big, but they usually install it in a basement or closet out of the view (which is more secured then most stand alone keypad/control units which could be ripped off from the wall and destroyed and possibly will not sent a signal, ADT installs a separate big box as well). I had previously two different alarm system and I have to say this one is by far the best. The system activates much faster then any other alarms I’ve had, it works through internet and cell phone unit as backup. The app control works great and allows you to control your system using your phone. You can control the chime or brightness on your keypad using your phone app or web browser. So all the complaints that people had I do not agree with. The door sensors are smaller then any other ones I had and the system overall works great. One last thing, if you look at most of the reviews they are negative because the people who have no problems usually don’t take time to post their reviews, only people who want to complaint, and I would have to say that most of the complaints are unfounded.

    I’ve had the system for over a year and I can not be more pleased with it! It functions as it should, the alarm center is quick to call me during an alarmed incident and the techs are timely courteous and knowledgable.

    I was basically tricked and lied into getting this crappy system. I was happy with ADT and now regret making the switch. They don’t tell you the install will take 5+ hours until the technician arrives. Then the inexperienced technician pulls out a montrosity that is supposed to be the alarm panel but looks like something out of a bad 80’s sci-fi movie. I was worried this thing would emit some sort of radiation so I told tech to put it as far away from us as possible. The quality of the product is impossibly cheap. Sensors were falling off our windows and doors 2 days after they were installed. Found it strange since the technician was here for a total of 14 hours!!! He kept going back and forth to his truck to get more “tools” but gave me a generic response when I asked if anything was wrong. As if he wanted to tell me without words that I had made the worst decision of my life by agreeing to get this system. I will complete my 2 years and canceling the minute my contract expires.

    I used to work here. Avoid at all costs. Even the bosses joke about the equipment. Techs are under payed and over worked. I averaged about 15 hours a day. BUYER BEWARE. they will offer you anything for free just to try and get you past that contract so you are either stuck paying out or sacking it up an paying. Just avoid it.

    WOW is this a nightmare service. When I have a problem it usually takes 3+ hours on the phone to resolve. If you enjoy your life, STAY AWAY.

    Consistent errors, unfulfilled promises and terrible customer service typify this service. They believe giving you $10 off is an ok solution to hours of you life spent on the phone or chatting with operators.

    Try to get out of the service once they lock you in. Good luck. RUN, DO NOT WALK away from this service.

    Support is a 10 but the equipment is a 0 have had constant problems with it ! If you want to live on the phone with the great support team then maybe you will be fine with it ! Always being locked out of app acess and camera down loads go as warp speed at times then slow speed at others you see invisible person walking kinda clear looking at times then you see a person in warp speed like superman 5 shadows behind them! I guess you could say sometimes works but my experince is not worth the time and effect get a real wired camera as a back up and spy cams

    We installed the Digital Life System on Oct. 29, 2013.
    I demanded that it be removed on Aug. 21 , 2014 after the sixth [ 6 ] failure. I needed a service rep. on Jan.30- Feb. 4- March 18- April 19- May 15- and finally Aug. 21, when my patience ran out. For a wireless system to have that many failures that were not correctible in a wireless fashion and therefore dependent on the delay from call in notification to eventual service rep arrival, is intolerable. When you are depending on the system to work because your family’s life may be at stake and it fails to perform again and again and again and again is outrageous. It is one thing to have an appliance fail [ blender , blend or stove not boil water ] but another when you family’s safety is concerned . I lost any sense of confidence or dependability in Digital Life. They now want me to pay a $ 420 termination fee because I asked to have the system taken out. They claim that I had no reason to take out the system because they [ eventually ] fixed all five [ 5 ] previous failures and were ready to fix the sixth [ 6 ] , given enough time.
    I replied that I had paid all the charges on time , never deducting anything for the time the system was down. I paid for a complete AT&T product installation even though I was told by the sales rep
    that I could save a lot of money by using the ADT components which had been installed. I kept my part of the bargain, but they had failed to give me a reliable system which I could feel confident would protect my family. Who knows what the seventh [7 ] failure would mean to my family’s safety ?

    I typically never take the time to write reviews — too much effort, but wanted to share given how awful it’s been. If limited to one word to describe ATT DIgital Life: Pathetic. Service is awful…long waits on hold. Nobody returns phone call. Sometimes they call all the numbers when an alarm goes off…sometimes they don’t. Repeater has been offline at least 5 times in my house and they can never seem to fix it. Service reps don’t arrive on time, and they don’t call. Nobody seems to really care…it’s as if they realize it’s a horrible product & service and nothing ever gets fixed. As another DFW area business executive, if I was CEO Randall Stephenson I would be utterly ashamed of this product. My family will cancel the first day we’re able, and we’ll toss uVerse over the side as well given this horrible experience.

    I am in the same boat as Tim. I had a really good plan and my kids went to the store for a Mother’s Day gift. The salesperson promissed everything they did to Tim. That it was a package deal that included shared data plan (I had unlimited data plan before), an IPhone 5,and an iPad. My payment increased by $110 per moth and we got limited data. I thought it would be ok since it included the alarm and the iPad (by the way I did not need it nor I wanted it).
    Well a few months later I get a collection letter that my account was cancelled for non payment and that my account was going to be sent to a collection agency. I’m refinancing my home, the last thing I need is a collection account. The bill was almost $800.00
    I called customer care and they told me that neither they send me to DigitalLife customer care. I call them and they said they couldn’t help me because it was a store issue. I went to the store and store manager Anthony Wilson was so rude. All he said it was that the person that sold the package to mi kids was no longer there and that he couldn’t say wheather she lied or not. Even though I had documents in hand with her ID number and handwriting saying that the monthly fee was included in my higher monthly price. He just picked up the phone and called DigitalLife customer service, gave me the phone and walked away. I was so stressed out I passed out on the floor. He did nothing.
    this is going to the Attorney General. There was a similar case in my area with ADT and people went to jail for fraud.

    Promises not kept – we have been promised camera upgrades for 1.5 years. No upgrades, cameras way to slow to react and night vision non-existent. Features are expensive, roughly $6 for every add-on. Do not miss a payment or underpay a bill by $0.30 or you will be charged compounding late fees – and remember, these are two-year contracts, where you pay upfront for all the equipment. Look elsewhere.

    I am very confused by the predominantly dissatisfied and negative reviews of the service and products. I have had nothing but satisfactory interaction with the customer service reps on the phone and the service technicians during installation. Everything I ordered came on time and in the manner promised. The technician was very professional-perhaps even a bit distant-during his time in our home. Other than a couple of devices that would not initialize with the DLC (probably left the factory and slipped past QA inspections) for which replacements were procured within 24-hours, I have had no issues with anything. The web-portal and mobile apps are as easy as pie to interface with. It is not the most “whiz-bang” system out there but it does the job for me. I give it an 8.

    HORRIBLE and UNETHICAL – AT&T flat out lied to me when I went to the store to add my parents to my phone line. I added two lines and they said “you are eligible for Digital Life at NO EXTRA COST.” I made sure to ask the store representative whether there were any hidden fees and she said no there are not as AT&T is trying to push this new benefit.

    Come to find three months later I have 3 past due bills from Digital Life and a monthly charge of $40/month. I called and if I wanted to cancel Digital Life I would be charged $600 early termination. Apparently, they had me sign electronically – which I was completely unaware of. Moreover, the representative I spoke to on the phone said that this is not the first time she has dealt with the issues I am having.

    Basically, AT&T is pushing Digital Life as a “FREE BENEFIT” in their stores to those who add multiple lines to their service. AT&T – It is unethical and wrong, and you make me sick to my stomach. I will tell all my friends, colleagues, and contacts what you have done and when my contract is up in two years I will cancel my cell phone accounts and digital life, and never do business with your company again.

    I will also make it my business to tell everyone I know to stay FAR AWAY from AT&T as you are liars and have ZERO integrity.

    I cancelled it after only 10 days. I found out that the price I was told in the ATT store was not the price I was going to be charged. I gave them a chance to back up their words by still giving me the quoted price, but they refused. They would rather take out over $800 worth of already installed equipment and lose 24 months of lesser payments than keep a customer happy and stand behind their stated promises. Make sure everything is in writing that they tell you in their store if you want their system.

    Horrible deal!! We were pressured into this feature in the first place when we went to our at&t store to replace a damaged phone we had insurance on. Next thing you know we’re there for 3 hours w/ two small children being cohersed into a “better deal”. When they arrived at our home there were issues from the get go. We didn’t receive an activation email so there was all this time being spent looking for this information then we were told FOR THE FIRST time that they would be in our home for 4-6 HOURS!!! Seriously!?!? We finally said we’re not interested. We weren’t interested in the first place and we’re returning the equipment now. Then some guy calls us and is horrific on the phone. Laughing condescendingly and furious that we didn’t call and cancel and when my wife tried to explain to him why we weren’t interested in the first place he treated her like garbage and hung up. When I called him back he sang a totally different tune and acted like we should have known they’d be in our house that long. We’re furious! We’ll be reporting this and we will be taking our entire service elsewhere!!!

    Terrible, incompetent and unethical! Alarm system stopped working after four months and we had three appointments to try and fix it. The first time they were unable to correct the problem so we had to reschedule. The second time TWO technicians came out, worked on it and said the system was working. Ten minutes later it stopped working. I schedule a third time with the stipulation that if they were unable to fix it they would waive the $200 early cancellation fee. They showed up at the wrong house and said I failed to show for the appointment so I needed to reschedule.

    Oh yeah, the molding to hide the wires was installed with double-sided tape which fell off in a week as noted by others.

    horrible training and product from att. When we signed up, we were told that we will be able to try the system for 30 days after installation free of charge. After we tried the system for 14 days, we decided to cancel. This is when we found out that the trial period is 14 days after the order is placed. Our system is installed 13 days after the order! How the hell do we try the system? The call rep said we had to pay $740 for cancelling and that’s when we went to the store. All around bad experience and would not recommend ever!

    I had the equipment installed at my son’s home for added protection as he was disabled. My son passed away and I had to sell his home, I made sure the new owner would keep the service and equipment. ATT are billing me for the months left on the contract, they couldn’t care less that I wouldn’t have sold the home if my son was alive. This isn’t about the amount owed but what heartless & insensitive people they are. I have been used their mobile service for 13 years, as soon as my contract is up in December I am changing service.

    The ATT Digital Life System is the worst system ever offered for security. This system is poorly installed by a contractor, Not ATT, and they are pressured to install the system in a limited time that is usually not enough to install the system properly. The system is poorly designed and does not work most of the time, even though the customer is not aware of it.
    Do Not Purchase this system unless you have no regard for your family’s security.
    ATT should not be allowed to offer this system due to it’s poor design, poor installation, and frequent failures.

    Your security system is put up with double sided tape. An Ignorant worker with barely any experience will show up at your door and pretend to know what they are doing. Everything that was installed is tilted or already falling down after 4 days. This was hands down the worst experience and the most I have been disappointed with a product ever. I just walked into my house and no alarm went off. I don’t have enough time to write how horrible this system is. JUST DON’T GET IT!!!!

    We have had issues with AT&T Digital Life since we got the system. After the initial install they had to come back a couple times to fix issues. We were dealing with their system when it was in beta mode.

    I have been trying to access Digital Life through their iPhone app, two laptops, and an iPad to no avail. I called and spoke with Digital Life and received awful customer service. The Rep actually told me it was a website issue and they had nothing to do with it. I had to ask to talk to her supervisor who told me another caller had the same problem and she escalated it to Tier 2 support. So, if I had not personally asked to talk to the supervisor I would have been left dangling and unable to access out system remotely which is one of the main things they were advertising about their system.

    For whatever reasons, our password stop working a few months ago. My husband has called and talked with them and now I’ve made two calls. The first call was 5 days ago and I was told that I would receive an email in 24 to 48 hours. It’s been 5 days and I haven’t received an email. Now I have this supervisor telling me that they don’t send out emails. Same group and I’m being told two different things, let’s not forget the Rep who said they don’t handle this it’s a website issue, so I guess it’s three different things.

    Digital Life customer service is the worse customer service I’ve ever had to deal with. We got the system because my husband worked for AT&T.

    We opened up our Digital Life on July 18, 2014 and one of the main “bill payer” in the household has lost the job; therefore we do not need Home security since we will have someone be at home and we cannot AFFORD it until we all have a job.
    On August 10th 2014, I personally called the Customer Service and tried to talk to Digital Life REP; however they don’t care about the customers who are in West Coast because they were closing therefore there is no one to talk to. OKAY, have my inquiry escalated and have the supervisor call me at OUR time in OREGON at 12:30 because I will be able to take a phone call during my break. NO PHONE CALL.
    August 11th, I was by the phone wondering if anyone was ever going to call me. I asked them to cancel my account. This REP named Levi with employee ID # LR***M talked me into staying with them by offering 3 months free service with 30 day trial period. So for 4 months I don’t have to pay anything. I thought that could work since we will need home security again once everyone starts working and it can be paid. He put me on hold for 10 min because he had to put the notes in. So I thought everything is good to go.
    August 14th 2014, I received a phone call from AT&T customer satisfaction service to see if I was satisfied with my recent inquiry. I told the lady; first I need to make sure with them to see if I am still getting the FREE 4 month digital life. The transferred me to someone else and now this time a guy told me that Levi did not put any note in; however he was happy to help me out. So we did the whole process over again. THIS TIME HE PROMISED ME THAT HE WILL PUT THE NOTE IN AND I WILL NOT GET ANY BILL LATER ON.
    August 19th 2014, I received a BILL from them 79$ that includes that previous month – trial 30 day – and then added onto that SEPTEMBER BILL.
    August 20th, I called AT&T at 7:30 am and try to talk to someone who can cancel my account without any LIE. They keep transferring me to the RIGHT department 3 times and finally I got to the right department they told me the MANAGER will CALL you. I have work at 8:00 and it is 7:59 am. The manager calls me. I can’t talk to them.
    August 20, 2014 at 11:30 am, I call them again during my half hour lunch. This UGLY ATTITUTE REP girl answers the phone and told me the I CANNOT TALK TO MANAGER BECAUSE HER MANAGER IS BUSY. I asked her if she can patch me to someone else because she was rude. “NUH-UH I CANNOT DO THAT AS WELL BECAUSE THERE IS NO IS HERE BESIDES ME THAT CAN HELP YOU”. That REPS name is Melissa in Billing Department and her Employee ID: MD 554*. So, I haven’t been able to reach anyone to CANCEL my account. It’s JUST canceling my account.
    Please stay away from them. They are the worst customer service people. If you have any inquiry you may not get answer from them or they LIE TO YOU and then you will never be able to reach anyone to get what you needed.

    I sat on hold with ATT as the fire department showed up after a false alarm. They installed a smoke alarm in my kitchen that plugs into a wall jack that I did not know about. I cleared the panel with my PIN, called ATT and they then put me on hold. During this time on hold the fire department showed up. Thank god it wasn’t a real emergency that required paramedics.

    I tried both ADT and AT&T. ADT has been around forever it seems. And they are so backed up it can take up to 10 weeks for an appt. I needed security quick. I called the 1-800 # and talked to Josh. He walked me through each device and showed me pics online on what they do. (I added A bunch). Every piece I ordered was here in 17 hours. And he sent me a “Protected by AT&T” with the order. I really liked that. 6 days later it was installed, 3 days later then that someone tried to break in…… (Paid a little extra for the camera then BOOM got ya prick!!) AT&T hasn’t offered security for a year yet and they have me for a customer for life. Thank you AT&T

    I have had digital life 3 months and have had a total of 24 technician hours in my home. They are elusive in their pricing where the AT&T store, customer service phone # and technicians give you 3
    different answers. This reminds me to also mention that due to this, I also have about 10-12 hours wasted on the phone with these people. A technician can’t answer or do anything themselves without calling someone and they get put on hold too. They’ve installed my door locks backwards, set up smart switches which the lights wouldn’t shut off causing several other lights in my house to burn out which could’ve set my house on fire. I called to have these removed, they sent someone who spent 8 hours at my house and replaced the “brain” of the system but yet the two switches are still in my wall dagling

    Absolutely without a doubt the worst installation as well as customer service I have ever come across with any company. The installer came a week early before we were completely ready and we allowed this to try and help him outvwithbhis schedule. The installer then shattered a glass door in our kitchen and now 2 weeks later we still can’t get anyone to do anything about it much less call us back. The acknowledge he shattered it but simply don’t care that. I tell everyone I talk to to ABSOLUTELY NOT usevAT&T for anything. Terrible company with even worse service

    Worst experience ever, 1)when the installer showed up I found out that it was going to take 5 hours not the couple of hours I was told in the store.2) I had to use his iPad to set up my account and a group msg flashed that said I may be a little longer I just found out 3 girls live here (I had told him that not 5 min before). 3) I left to go run errands and my sister was going to wait for the last 2 hours of the install and I get a msg saying that my garage door motor mysteriously has a short in it and no longer works and the garage door panel would not be set up nor were they responsible for fixing it. 4) I get home and the installer reassures me he did not break it and his boss shows up to make things right….the boss discovers my garage door opener puts out way more volts than the keypad and never would have been compatible….the reason given why the technician didn’t check this first, lack of experience. 5) I tell the boss about the inappropriate message sent about the 3 girls living in the house and before I could even finish he stated that was a group msg sent from the technician in okc and had nothing to do with my home…..hmmm maybe it was just a coincidence 6) I tell them just to uninstall the work that has been done because I was very disappointed and not willing to enter into 2 years of that nonsense not to mention part of what was offered to me would be unavailable, after the technician left I checked all my doors and windows and 2 windows had been unlocked. Very displeased with the service provided and am 100 percent satisfied with my decision to walk away.

    Just updating my review below. The system is still doing exactly what it is supposed to. Phone information has been invariably promptly answered and helpful. I had to have one door lock replaced because I forgot the master code, which was not their fault, and one visit to tighten up the wiring in the sensors taken over from the previous system. I’ve had no problems with unfulfilled promises.

    I have 16 programs set to run – lights timed to sunrise and sunset, lights come on when I open the door, I get texts when the power goes out or comes back on, I get a text when someone comes in the door. Texts take between 3 and 10 seconds to arrive. No need to carry keys or a remote anymore. A garage opener is included in the system. The touchpad locks and toggle switches even look good.

    Not perfect, but the closest thing to it.

    We have this digital life. … first of we waited for like two months brother they came and installed it. .. and it’s never worked. ..we’ve tried calling the customer service number and got the runaround. .. finally it went off on its own and we told them to just come get the whole thing because its NEVER worked since we’ve had it. …. now it still doesn’t work and they haven’t come to get it. .. and we get a bill for over $950 for having it. …wtf?

    She explained that dropping 2-G from the cellular net work is happening and will be complete by Feb. 2016.
    The way the rep. explained it to me, it was more like extortion than an upgrade to the system.

    Amazing service and impossibly fast response. Do not sleepily let the dogs out in the morning and forget to disarm. You will have texts and phone calls before you ever make it to the key pad. I also echo Anita Davis’ comments below regarding AT&T. They’re the main reason I shopped around.

    I have never experienced such awful customer service. It was so bad I am canceling all my AT&T phone and U-Verse services and will not be going back to AT&T ever despite being a long time customer. The system has had all kinds of “offline” issues and customer service can never help. They tell me they have changed info then keep calling me about what they said they had changes.     Truthfully it looks good on paper. But let something go worng…and it gets to be a nightmare quickly. They have no concept of customer service. They use private contractors to wire up the a/c heat thermostat and they screw up…cost $460 to get rewired. AT&T refused to comp me or even give me a partial refund. So I have tried to get it moderated, but now its down to small claims court it seems. I had trouble with Uverse and cancelled that. BEWARE!!!!!!

    We have had problems with window and door sensors dropping offline in the middle of the night or randomly during the day while the alarm is active leaving multiple vulnerabilities. Seems like the technology they are using is just not well tested.

    I am SO unhappy with this alarm system! I have only had it for 3 months and I have had issues with the system ever since it got installed! Spoke with a manager numerous times and they don’t stand by their word! I am having to pay a monthly service for a system that sucks and doesn’t work! I DO NOT recommend this Alarm company at ALL!

    The basic service is ok, but the door security cams do not work in sub 32 degree weather and basically shut off. Also, be aware of the contract. I am going through a divorce, had to sell my house, and you cannot turn off the service. I am being told the only thing I can do is to pay a $500 early termination fee or have it installed at the apartment I’ve moved to which already has a security system. This is a nasty contract that serves the best interests of AT&T and not the customer.
