AT&T Digital Life’s minimum contract length of 24 months. Most professional home security companies have a 3- to 5-year contract. The reason AT&T Digital Life can offer a short contract is because they have high up-front equipment fees. Other companies with no minimum contract length will have similarly high up-front fees.

24/7 Monitoring

Like most home security companies, Digital Life professionally monitors each of its home security systems around the clock, which means customers can rest assured that their home and family will be safe in the event of a break-in.

Free Installations

AT&T Digital Life will perform all standard home security system installations for free. This cuts down on upfront costs and makes installing a security system more affordable for customers. Additionally, AT&T’s home security systems are compatible with other hardware, so customers who already have home security equipment can make a seamless transition to Digital Life.

  • Equipment. A few reviewers have had issues with AT&T Digital Life’s equipment – specifically the door sensors. Multiple reviews mention having to pay to re-install the equipment when they move, even though the company advertises “Free installations”.
  • Customer Service. Many reviewers are not happy with AT&T Digital Life’s poor customer service. Several mention that they are unable to effectively communicate with customer service agents.

  • Smart Security and Automation: $549.99 upfront, $54.99 monthly – Includes all features of the Smart Security package plus the Camera Package and Door Package. Feature s include window sensors, a garage door controller, smart door locks, an outdoor camera, and more.
  • Premium Security and Automation: $849.99 upfront, $64.99 monthly – Includes everything from the lower security packages as well as a smart thermostat, light control, and other energy features. A temp & water sensor is also included to detect water leaks and tell you the ambient temperature of the room.

With rather expensive packages and an abundance of negative reviews, we recommend you research companies like Frontpoint Security or Protect America, which starts at $19.99 a month for professional installation.

    Camera’s do not stream in real time. 1 camera will stream as if it is day time while 1 camera will stream as if it were night time at the same time.

    Ok so when it was installed I was pleased with the system. After 2 weeks parts started falling off all over my house. These DIY pieces they install are cheaply made and do not stick properly, so all my sensors on windows are constantly falling off. This actually set my alarm off 3 separate occasions. Not one time did the digital life team call my phone to verify there was not an emergency. The tablet that comes with it does not function. It freezes constantly and glitches often. This is by far the biggest mistake my household has made letting these yahoos set this garbage system up in my home. I don’t even want the equipment any longer but was told its “mine”. Customer service is atrocious, quality of system is atrocious, billing department has their head up their back side. This system is not worth the money, find a different carrier.

    I’m moving and called to cancelled sevice but wait to long in line and transfer me to 3 time another line and ask me same question . That day i dont have time to waiting and call back later but samething transfer a lot and hold very long then finally i can cancel and received an email.but I still have charge I tried to access my account online on a desktop and also but can not
    It mean I gonna contract them again so bad

    Extremely dissatisfied and would never recommend the digital life service to anyone

    Consumer beware!!! Before opting for this security system read all the reviews. While it is a clean and user friendly system it does not work to its contract agreement. Within the first year I had service out 3 times. The cameras did not record any data and I was told it was the sensor and it would correct the issue. The cameras spent 6 months without recording any data from that service on. I only discovered this because of neighborhood burglaries that prompted me to look at my clips. To my surprise nothing has recorded. Out of fear I decided to look at the live stream during my graveyard shift and realized that some of the streaming was in day time while others were filming at night. As you can imagine I immediately discontinued service and have been fighting for credit of a disconnection fee for product that does not function properly.

    Despite employees promising to fix account, despite recording employees numbers, they continue with harassment. This company lies while pretending to want to assist. You willl literally spend hours on phone calls in which they will transfer you to hold for .. right now 54 min and call still not picked up by so called supervisors.DISHONEST,ANTAGONISTIC,POOR SERVICE!

    Is a piece of crap. Doesn’t work half the time. Doesn’t even record half the time when it is working. Completely unreliable. Customer Service is terrible. Can’t delete videos half the time. Overall, a complete waste of money.

    For 10 months in a row the automatic bill pay does not work even though they swear on their life that it is going to work the next month. Every month collections call me saying I didn’t pay my bill. Dealing with these incompetent idiots is a part time job. I’m done and I will never go back!!!!! AT&T is a communication company that is horrible in communicating.

    Camera are lousy. The just sit there. They don’t scan. Half the time they don’t take pictures. The app on phone is terrible. Shuts itself off while watching the camera or viewing pictures. If watching ithe camera with direct tv it shuts off if no activity after 3 minutes so you can’t watch it live. Not happy

    HORRIBLE!!!! only decided to use the alarm system because I was told repeatedly that they would transfer all of the equipment when I moved at no charge. I knew I would be moving prior to the 2 year contract period ending and this was a deciding factor. Called today to transfer my service and was told it would be $499 “new startup package fee”. I explained that I was told numerous times they would transfer at no charge. Their response was… “that was a promotion that we are no longer offering” and to cancel I would be charged an early termination fee. I certainly understand promotions and how they work. This was definitely not presented to me as a promotion and would not make any sense to tell me about a “move out” promotion while installing a system. I am so furious with this company. I will be cancelling my cable and internet with them as well. THEY SHOULD BE FINED AND NOT ALLOWED TO BLATANTLY LIE AND RIP PEOPLE OFF. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ANY PART OF THIS COMPANY. DIGITAL LIFE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALSO TERRIBLE! BUYER BEWARE!!!! RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION

    BEWARE!!!! Poor customer service, system has been acting poorly, keypad loosing power, keypad going into sleep mode (keypad going dark, need to touch buttons so it initialize ) system going offline and earliest technicians can come in 2 weeks,

    WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I have called 43 times to attempt to cancel my service. The alarm randomly goes off. Now I am moving. 2 months I have been getting the run around from these pathetic people. I am STILL TRYING TO CANCEL. They have hung up on me 23 times. They have transferred me to nothing. They have given me dead phone numbers to call.

    After having this service for over 4 yrs, I decided to move. I have been told that I have to continue to pay for the alarm system at my old address even though its an apartment & I do not live there anymore. This is crazy. I was told by one rep that all I had to do was transfer my services to the new address, however after staying on hold trying to get ahold of someone from the “move dept’ over a week span of staying on hold hours at a time, just to be told that I have to pay $400 to transfer my current service. SMH CLEARLY these depts so not talk with each other and no one knows ANYTHING. WORST service I have ever had in my life. I will not continue to put my safety in jeopardy waiting for a callback so I have decided to go with another provider although I am STUCK paying for services where I do not live anymore. Craziest thing EVER!! I would NOT recommend AT&T Digital Life to my worst enemy! They SUCK!!!!! Customer Service is the WORST. Save your money & time & go with a different security service provider other than AT&T. Save yourself the headache.

    I am rating Digital Life a 1 instead of 0 because their mobile app has improved greatly over the past 6 months.
    We have been with Digital Life for 14 months already. In that time frame, we have had to have technicians out to our house on 7 occasions. Our front door lock goes off-line randomly and will stay off-line until a technician comes out. The last time a technician was out, a manager came with him, they ran a lot of tests and finally told me that there is nothing they can do to keep my door lock on-line. I called customer service and spoke with many managers and all of them told me the same thing, that even though their equipment could not provide the service that we signed up for, we still had a contract.
    Today, we had an alarm go off in our house and the alarm continued for over 3 minutes. We never received a call from their monitoring service. I called customer service and they informed me that the alarm was only present for 14 seconds. I know for a fact that it was sounding for over 3 minutes.
    We are loyal AT&T cell phone users and Direct TV, however, we will look elsewhere when our contract is over for Digital Life.
    Terrible customer service, faulty equipment, and not providing the service that they promised when we signed up for them is enough for me to run from these guys.

    What a nightmare trying to cancel this service!!!! Trying since Jan (paid up til March which is the end of my contract), representative refused to cancel service in Jan, stated I had to call back at the end of Feb (it is the end of Feb so I called) now trying to say I have a balance when I paid thru the contract last month. They said they are charging another month because it’s after the 20th! Which they never told me or I would have made sure I called. No matter what I said this rep tried to get me to keep the service even cutting the bill in half. These people are trained not except CANCEL MY SERVICE no matter how many times you say it (my husband counted 6 times I said it). So I asked to pro rate from the 20th to March 1st (which I shouldn’t have to pay a penny more) at first they refused but after asking for a supervisor all of a sudden it can be pro rated and I’ll be charged from Feb 20-Mar 1. Rep would not tell me that amount but states a bill will be sent out on Mar 1 WHAT A SCAM!!!!

    The app is very inconsistent. The solution center (fixing problems) is never available. The chat line is AI and never able to address the problem. When you ask for a live person, the waits are insufferable. The phone reps are actually very responsive, but if you have an issue you’re going to spend at least an hour on the phone. Every time I’ve had a problem, it required sending out replacement equipment.

    I had ADT for many years with no problems. Stay away from these AT&T.

    Have had system for 1-1/2 years. Alarm has gone off 4 times in the middle of the night for no reason. Never received call from service. Have called customer service 4 times, each telling me that they did a system check and everything was fine. One time sent new battery and said that would solve the problem. It did not. Filed claim with BBB.

    Worked for att digital life myself. System is unreliable and faulty. Devices will go offline for no reason. Run away not a way to spend ur money. Had to leave them because of the same thing sysyem not being reliable and always having to go back. Plain n simple the system does not work.

    Do not expect the quality normally associated with AT&T telephone, cell service, U-verse, etc.
    It is sub-par. I had the security products for 2+ years and had failures and technician visits about every 60 days. Equipement is re-ferb. One issue was resolved because I had obsolete hardware. Their words, not mine.
    Service is ok. Sometimes you talk to off shore, but communication is satisfactory.
    Basically, the system is not reliable and often cannot be corrected on line., which means yet another day of staying home for a 4-5 hour window waiting for a technician.
    When I cancelled service, 1/30, ATT pulled the plug within an hour.. The keypad will not go to ‘Ready to Arm.’ Then, 2/12, I was billed another month, because I must have a complete cycle of 30 days notice.
