Devcon Security is a security firm that provides residential and commercial services throughout the United States. They sell a variety of systems, including top notch wireless home security that will function even in a power outage or if the phone lines are disabled.
Security System Overview
Devcon Security has a home monitoring system that received a 5 star rating from the Central Station Alarm Association. They can alert the proper authorities for such incidents as fire, burglary, carbon monoxide, and other incidents as well. Additionally, Devcon Security can also assist with medical alert solutions for elderly clients, providing peace for all family involved. Moreover, Devcon has all of the latest home security equipment, such as the Simon XT security system from GE or the ADEMCO Security Systems from Honeywell. Devcon was acquired by ADT.
Devcon Security is a very advanced and thorough security firm. They have numerous high-tech solutions, including wireless, cell phone, and a rapid-response monitoring system with a 24/7 support staff. They have a solid reputation for customer service.
For the most part the site is very thorough and user-friendly. However, there is one issue with the “Branch Locations” link within the site, which is a broken link. Although this could seem like a minor issue, it can make the company seem vague in just where you can get service from them. Can you procure their services in any state? The fact that “branch locations” is a broken link makes this unclear. More information is needed in this area. Devcon’s security’s website should also strongly consider a search function within their site. For those who have brand loyalty it can be very difficult to locate GE products, Honeywell products, and the like.
Recently, Devcon Security became an official ADT dealer which means that many of their package options are similar to other ADT dealers, such as their home automation system. For $399 down and $49.99 a month for 36 months customers can purchase a home automation package that includes the following:
- 24/7 burglary & theft monitoring
- Quality service plan
- Remote arm/disarm via web-enabled device
- Email and text alerts
- Cellular connection
- Fire protection
- Carbon Monoxide detector
- Flood detection
- Climate control
- Lighting and appliance control
- Remote door locks
The Devcon home automation lets you access your home conveniently from anywhere, such as on the road, at the office, or while on vacation. It also allows you to seamlessly integrate security, lighting, climate, and video. Devcon provides a system that includes many more features than other companies’ basic package, plus right now there is an internet special starting $149 that includes home security, automation, and a full professional installation.
There is very little negative to mention with the Devcon Security home automation package. It includes many features that are not available through other companies’ offers, such as door lock automation, emergency notifications, and appliance control. One downside of going through Devcon is that they do not offer the same video promotions that are available directly through ADT. For example, the basic home automation package through ADT includes two video surveillance cameras (one indoor, one outdoor), however, with Devcon in order to get the video cameras a customer must buy the larger package for $10 more a month and an extra $100 upfront.
