Frontpoint’s equipment and devices are easy-to-install. There are no installation fees, and Frontpoint understands the value of diligent customer service. Frontpoint’s Pricing

Frontpoint’s equipment and monitoring cost is competitive with other leading security companies. Frontpoint home security offers monitoring services in three packages from which customers may choose: protection monitoring, interactive monitoring, and ultimate monitoring. These Frontpoint systems have a monthly fee for professional monitoring, but that price is not disclosed on the website as prices may vary depending on each individual home.  We were, however able to get some numbers for standard costs of alarm monitoring.  The monthly price ranges from $34.99-49.99. Frontpoint security systems are all 100% cellular monitoring services, with the higher priced option offering additional add-ons like home automation for smart home devices and video surveillance monitoring. The mobile app is included in the Interactive and Ultimate plan only and you need a smartphone mobile device to have access.

Contracts are available for 12 and 36 months. However, there is a $99 minimum equipment purchase. Pre-made, comprehensive security packages range from $199.95 – $349.95. Customers own all the Frontpoint equipment they’ve purchased and have a  30-day, risk-free trial. If you are unhappy with your alarm systems you may get your money back.

100% Cellular Monitoring and Wireless Home Security Equipment

Frontpoint uses a simpler approach to monitoring options by offering a 100% cellular connection. Unlike other security companies, their wireless home security system is not dependent on a phone line, internet connection, or any other system within a home. Their system won’t go down if the landline or internet fails and all communication is built into the system itself.

Mobile App and Upgraded Technology

Home Automation Options

With this plan, you’ll be notified immediately of any alarm activity within the home—whether it’s a matter of security or an environmental threat.  You’ll also be reminded if you leave without arming your system, using the Frontpoint location-based Geo-Services.

An excellent offer that comes with this program is the light control feature. You can customize an on/off schedule or set lights to trigger automatically in reaction to a sensor alarm. There is also environmental protection to protect you against Carbon Monoxide (CO), extreme temperatures, or flooding. With the Interactive plan, you additionally get sensors and thermostats to guard against these calamities.

This Frontpoint package includes a 30-day money-back guarantee trial period, free text and email notifications, and the option to do self-installation.

However, Frontpoint does not sell the door locks,  or a thermostat, etc. The reason for this is that the Frontpoint home automation system is a self-setup, so it can be difficult for someone to install their own locks and thermostats so they operate correctly.

Another potential issue for many is that Frontpoint’s automation system is a self-setup system. While the system is generally simple to set up, there are some who may struggle with connecting it to their smart home devices.

Upfront Costs

While equipment fees start at $99, they may reach as high as $449 if you chose to upgrade packages. For example, a base package includes 3 door and window sensors.  If you were to customize their base package to include 10 extra door and window sensors, you would pay close to $248.90 out of pocket.

Frontpoint Security Equipment Warranty

FrontPoint only offers a 3-year warranty on their equipment.  Many other competitors offer lifetime equipment warranties.

    I have had FrontPoint Security for several years now. I have added sensors to my starting set over the years. All my experiences with FrontPoint have been outstanding. From the initial call to price a security system to my everyday experiences, FrontPoint has been great to deal with.     When we decided to get a security system, I did the usual research on companies and reviews. While there are definitely cheaper systems out there, a lot of the reviews were not very positive. I liked what I read about FrontPoint, and the customer service just blew me away. We’ve had our system since May 2013. Initial installation was a breeze for this ‘old guy’, and there has been no problems whatsoever. So far, so good.

    Their customer service is top notch. The representatives are ready to assist with any issue and are polite. The few times I’ve had questions or issues, they took care of them right away. My yard sign blew away last week due to high winds. I sent them a request through their website and a few days later, a new sign arrived at my door. As others have pointed out, they aren’t the cheapest, but their prices are close to competitor prices and an alarm system is an item I want quality and customer service rather than the cheapest.

    I started with FrontPoint over two years ago after researching numerous home security companies. After a lot of thought and reading lots of great reviews, I decided on this company because of the reputation they’ve established. I’ve stayed with them because the one time I did have an issue, law enforcement was notified immediately and the response from the company was great. They are very easy to set up and use! Every time I call, I have a great experience. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for a home security system. I agree the up front costs were a bit more than I hoped but honestly, I’m ok with that for the peace of mind I get with them. Highly recommended!!

    After 18 months of total satisfaction with no false alarms and no problems I have now had several months of problems that do not get resolved. You have now replaced my touch panel, main panel battery, main panel, sent new adhesive, new thicker adhesive, and now a new window sensor. All of this to stop my remote panel from beeping. I was told the remote was bad, the main battery was bad, the panel was bad, the programing was bad, and now a bad sensor. That has not arrived as yet so I do not know if that will solve the problem. The people on the line are very helpful but apparently they have on limited knowledge. A problem like mine should been escalated and a proactive approach on your end should have been taken. At this point I am an unhappy customer. Given the hours I have now assisted in your repair and diagnostic efforts I would have been better off with a more traditional system. I would be more accepting of your business model if your pricing were significantly lower that your competitors. I spent my entire career in the Tech industry so I would not be considered a typical customer. I would refer to myself as Tech Savvy.

    The FrontPoint security system is really nice and user friendly. We really like the added bonus of text alerts when our power goes out and when it comes back on. Having the mobile application also helps to arm/disarm the system on the go. It is also nice to have an events log. We are excited about the system and being able to take it with us if/when we move.

    Very reliable and not a scam by any stretch. This system will give you the convenience and sense of security you are looking for and, it is reliable. Don’t believe the $19.88 scams from other wireless providers – that’s for 3 (three) window/door sensors and a motion detector. When you are sure you are looking at apples vs apples for the number of doors, windows, garages, fire alarms, window breakage etc sensors and monitoring you want, you will find as we did that FrontPoint is your best contract option out there.

    I needed them to show up twice – once they went to the wrong address and the 2nd time they said it was likely a spider going across our sensor. It wasn’t…it was a break in and they refused to send police. I can’t imagine any reason to pay them if they can’t or won’t get police when you need them.

    I love that you can add things at your convenience to this system. I plan on adding more items over time and like that you can change items and “move” the system with you when you change residences. Usually items arrive within two days, plus the customer service folks are very friendly when you need help with something via phone.

    You can activate/check the system remotely via your smartphone or the internet so I can tell when my husband leaves and turns on the system (or when he forgets) from work.

    We spent weeks researching the ups and downs of various security systems before calling FrontPoint. We were very impressed with our first contact –questions answered, details provided, guidance but no hard sell. We decided go with FP and have been very happy with the system. Nice integration between the monitoring devices, the home control panels, email alerts, “myFrontpoint” website, and the FP monitoring site. I love that our iPad becomes another control panel when we travel. Last weekend we were 3 hours from home when I received a call from FP that an entry sensor had sent an “open” alert. At my request FP contacted the local police who checked the home. No call back from FP is good news but, to be sure that everything was alright, I called FP and requested the phone number of the local police dispatcher. The dispatcher confirmed that the police had visited the house and reported no entry issues. Follow-up conversations with the police suggest they were at the house within 3 minutes of receiving the call from FP, checked all entries and found none open. The history log from our FP website identified the “opened” entry as a garage door. By reviewing the log, I can see we opened and closed that garage door at 8:10/8:11 am, turned on the security system at 8:26 am and left town. The garage door sensor reported “open” at 11:43 am and “closed” at 12:27 am. The police were on site during that time and confirm the garage door was not open, suggesting the sensor sent a false alert. I will be contacting FP about this. Meanwhile, it is nice to know the response to the alert went as it should have.

    I have been very pleased with Frontpoint for years. Recently one of our window sensors went bad and they replaced it for free. The only reason I didn’t give them a 10 was because it took several calls to get the sensor renamed to what it was previously. This should have been handled on the first call.
