Hunter has been servicing residents along the gulf coast of Alabama with quality security and fire protection since 1978.
Security System Overview
Hunter Security out of Daphne, Alabama, offers local customers the opportunity to install a completely customized home security system using DMP products. Unlike most companies, Hunter does not lease the equipment to customers but instead requires that their customers purchase the equipment in full. After the system is purchased, Hunter has a no contract policy which allows customers to be monitored on a month-to-month basis for $25-$35 a month. The following is an example of the type of system you can purchase for around $700:
- DMP wireless control panel
- Backup battery
- 5 door/window contacts
- 2 motion detectors
- Sign & Stickers
- 24/hr monitoring
- Month to month contract
Over the years, Hunter Security has gained the trust and serviced many private and public entities such as: the State of Alabama, Providence Hospital, Springhill College, University of South Alabama, SAADS Healthcare Services, U.S. Sports Academy, Thomas Hospital, Faulkner State Community College, and many others. Additionally, Hunter also currently monitors and protects over 4,000 residents throughout the area.
For new customers, the best policy that Hunter offers is their month-to-month contract agreement. Most home security dealers require customers to sign a 3-5 year deal that locks them into monthly payments and tacks on massive fines for late payments or canceled contracts. However, since new Hunter customers own their equipment they are able to do a monthly contract agreement which can be canceled at anytime. Most customers are quite fond of this type of arrangement. Another noteworthy benefit to Hunter’s services is their 2 year warranty on parts and labor, which is longer than the industry average.
There is little negative to mention with this company. They have an A rating from the Better Business Bureau and zero outstanding complaints. One possible downside could be the small nature of the company, which could limit the scope of services they are able to provide. For example, outside of the gulf coast region if you own a Hunter system and it malfunctions it could take longer to receive a maintenance call than it would with other companies.
