Security System Overview

SafeMart offers several brands of home security from which to choose. Potential customers can choose anything from super advanced, high grade technology like they GE Simon XTi and Honeywell Lynx Touch L5000 to the Honeywell Vista. The Simon XTi is the newest home security system from GE Security. The Simon XTi is a self-contained wireless security system that combines the robust functionality of the Simon XT with the easy-to-use two-way talking touchscreen. The Honeywell Lynx L5000 is a dynamic, bright touchscreen that helps simplify security. The Lynx Touch supports all Honeywell 5800 series wireless devices.

The Good

In business for thirteen years, the company has earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and a five-star rating on Google reviews.

Every sector of the SafeMart.com’s business earns accolades. The easy ordering from their website frequently mentioned in reviews, as is the ease of DIY installation. Customers report that if they have a problem, the customer support (free during regular business hours) is fast to respond and help troubleshoot an installation problem or a system that develops a kink.

Almost all reviews of SafeMart.com mention the savings compared to other system’s with similar hardware. The monthly monitoring costs are also low compared to competitors.You can purchase a basic system from SafeMart and add to it and even take it when you move as the components are “plug n play.”

The Bad

Overall the company has a terrific reputation. However, a few customers complained that after initial contact was made with SafeMart follow up marketing calls and emails were frequent and annoying. There was one complaint that customers are required to pay the shipping on returned items even if the return is the fault of SafeMart.

The Bottom Line

SafeMart has been named one of Inc. 5000 magazine’s fastest growing companies 4-years in a row. SafeMart has also earned Angie’s List “Super Service Award” and many others for its service and value. The company has an excellent product line that is at an affordable priced. All in all, SafeMart.com continues to grow because it provides great service, affordable products and the best monthly monitoring fees there are. This company earns a “strongly recommended.”

The Good

Light control, thermostat control, remote door locks and pretty much any other home automation function you can imagine is available through Safe Mart technology.  Their home control system helps you save energy and money while giving you a peace of mind.  New customers that purchase the Platinum security package also have the option to add on any piece of home automation equipment desired to finish a fully-automated home.  In the Platinum package home owners receive the upgraded Simon XTi touch screen panel, appliance controls, 2-way voice, image sensor capabilities, and free smart phone apps.  Then, any extra home automation equipment can be added on, and if you purchase through the website you can receive an extra 20% discount on bundled purchases.  For example, some features they offer are:

  • Severe weather alerts
  • Lifestyle scheduling
  • Live video feeds from your smart phone
  • Remote control lights, locks and thermostats
  • Flood sensors
  • Garage door controls
  • Email & text alerts 

The Bad

Although Smart Mart offers many of the best in home automation equipment they charge new customers for each new addition to the home.  For example, with the Platinum package they provide the ability to remotely control lights, locks, and thermostats from a table or smart phone, but they do not provide the equipment needed to control those appliances and they must be purchased separately.  To buy an Advanced Z-Wave Thermostat a home owner will have to pay an extra $160.  The same goes for many other features—you much purchase them extra in order to use all the special features provided by the Platinum package.

The Bottom Line

Safe Mart provides an excellent home security package that has the capability to host multiple home automation functions and has some of the cheapest monitoring costs on the market.  However, to fully utilize the industry-best technology you will have to purchase extra equipment.  In order to determine if a Safe Mart home automation system is right for you we suggest discussion your options further with a sales representative.

    I have had Safemart for two years now. Apparently they now go by their servicer name, Livewatch. They have been great. they are prompt to call in the event of an alarm and were quick to help when I had questions during set up/install. My mother also switched to them after I told her I was pleased and she has been very happy as well.

    IF Your Family and safety is importation to You, stay away from this Company LiveWatch its a joke Horrible service. I payed over $588.00 plus $39.95. for the worst service ive ever had in my life. Ive been with company for around 10 day now and called in two days ago to cancel my serves. Let me start with the first day of service, I got my equipment from the company just to fine out after it took me and my Wife 6 hours to install because I had to make wood custom blocks out of wood so my doors sensors would even work on my Commercial doors, then when I got all the equipment in place we called Livewatch to Activate service just to fined out that they for got to ship a major part that I payed for that communicates with the camera system, so they had to send another main system a couple days later. so I had to unhook the first one and install the second one then take that one 8 miles to the airport to ship it back to them through FedEx, now after installing the second panel, that same night the new panel stopped working so and the company never send me any emails or even called me to let me know that my alarm system was not working and that anyone could have broke in and we would not even know it. the way I found out that it quit working is that me and my wife went into the business to discover that the main panel was completely white so we had to call there tech-support to reset the unit. and not more then 2 hours later i had left the facility and came back to find out that the second panel that communicates with the main panel stop work so I had to run all the way to the second main panel but i reach it the alarm went off and almost blew out my eardrums.so I had to call there text support just to reset the whole system, then to make thing even worse they lied to us about the Camera system that we add to the system security, it only takes 40 pictures a month then you have to pay more money for that service and we where told that it was unlimited. then we got billed for $19.95 that they agreed to wave after signing up with the Company, so I had to call the billing department and had one of there billing agents get smart with me over the phone as if I was steeling from the Company. because there sale department had set me up with a package deal including waving the $19.95 activation fee. and to top it all off the night we got the system with the new main panel working. I get a call at 1:58am stating my building had a motion sensor go off and want to know if they should call the police. I told them go ahead because I was at home so me and my wife got out of bed ran across town to are company to fined out there was nothing going on at all not even the alarm was going. So we drove back home to just to walked in the door to get a call from livewatch, tech-support stating that we had a break-in and that the Police where a are business and that a basement window was broken out. and they wanted to know my time of arrival I told I could be back there in 8mins or so. So me and my wife walked back out the door had to go clean across town to fined out that there was no Police at all and the everything was normal so I called 911 and asked if they had any call for this location and they said no, none at all. this Company are liers and only want your Money. so now Im trying to get my Money back from them. The people writing good review about this company are probably there own staff members to bring up there ratings.

    We Ordered A Bridge To Have Defender Take Over Monitoring Of Adt Equipment On March26, 2014. We hHave Had To Call The Company And Email Them Repeatedly As We Received A Faulty Bridge. The TechnicianA Would Say They Would Call Us Back, No ResponsE From Them. We Called And Emailed Over 3 Weeks After Initial Equipment Failure. They Never initiated Contract with Us Even ThoughThey Said They Would Check With The Manufacturer And Call Us Or Email Us. We Repeatedly Had To Attempt To Call Or Email Them. After A Month, We Returned The equipment And Are Waiting For A Refund. Worst Customer Service I Have Dealt With. Do Yourself A Favor And Go Elsewhere. We Dealt With 3 Different People In The Company And Could Not Get Any Help Or Response From Them. The Only Positive Us We Left A Message On The Company Presidents Phone After A Month Of Contacting Customer Service And No Response And He Did Call And Apologize. Hopefully, They Will Work On Their Customer Service.

    After a mere inquiry and then letting them know that I did not want/need/desire their business, I have been getting a phone call once a month for the past seven (7) months. This is a high-pressure, commission driven and desperate company with very inconsiderate sale people. The company gets into the top 5 of wireless security companies on only one web site review, (TopTenReviews). Their equipment carries the highest price of most all the wireless companies.
    But, the worst thing about this company is their sales tactics.

    This company has the worst customer service than you could ever imagine. After over 2 1/2 hours I finally find out that I can’t do anything about my account until February 2014. I would suggest that you consider any other that SafeMart.

    Been a customer for one year. SafeMart was very helpful getting me started. The order arrived very quickly and their techs were extremely helpful walking me through the setup. The monitoring service is very reliable and the Android App works very well. I have recommended their service to several friends and family, all of whom are also happy.
