Security System Overview

Security Networks uses iNet to provide the best in class interactive security system. This interactive security system allows you to monitor your home or business anytime and anywhere. Manage not only your security system, but also your lights, locks, and thermostat from your smartphone, computer, or home control for added convenience and to cut your energy costs. Security Networks won’t just give you a cookie cutter plan to secure your home or business. Providing a custom security solution for your home and business is what make Security Networks unique.

The Good

Knowing that Security Networks has an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau can give you peace of mind when you choose this company to secure your home or business. In addition to cutting edge technology that allows you to stay connected all the time, Security Networks also offers lots of additional perks to your security plan. There is the Free System Move Program that provides a free installation if you move. There is also the Theft Protection Guarantee which states that Security Networks will give you your paid insurance deductible up to $1000 in the event that you have property loss due to a burglary while you were secured by Security Networks.

The Bad

Although Security Networks has an A- rating with the BBB, there have been over five hundred total closed complaints filed against Security Networks. Complaints range from sales, billing and product issues. Some have complained that Security Networks use false sales practices with door to door representatives, Others say that Security Networks auto renews contracts without notifying the customer. All complaints have been resolved and Security Networks has responded to the BBB explaining the cause of complaints. There also many negative reviews from Security Networks customers found in multiple sites.

The Bottom Line

Security Networks has an excellent BBB rating and has been in business for over two decades. Security Networks also owns and operates its own monitoring centers.

The Good

Through the Security Networks home automation program a home owner can control their home on a schedule using iNet.  iNet lets you control and monitor your lights, locks, thermostat and security system right from your smart phone.  iNet is Security Networks own best-in-class interactive home automation and security system software that provides the best in monitoring and remote services.  Security Networks can custom design the best home automation package based on your needs, and once it is installed and programmed, you can easily update or modify it to reflect upcoming events in your life, e.g., vacations, season changes, etc.  Other features offers are as follows:

  • User-friendly mobile apps
  • Remote system control from any internet-enable device
  • Secure wireless signaling
  • Monitor and change thermostat settings from anywhere
  • Disarm security system, lock and unlock doors
  • Create automatic light schedule that can deter intruders and fit a personal lifestyle
  • Set up energy efficient thermostat schedules that interact with security systems
  • Get real-time notifications when a specific door is accessed or a thermostat setting is changed
  • Take control of energy consumption and reduce energy bills

The Bad

The downside to the Security Network packages is that in order to take full advantage of the iNet system you have to purchase the home automation, energy management, and video monitoring packages separately.  Therefore, in order to get the amount of amenities that are offered through many other companies’ packages you must pay substantially more.

The Bottom Line

Security Networks is a quality home security company that provides a full range of home automation products that can be customized to fit your personal needs.  If you are in the market for a home automation system and want quality equipment and top of the line software then Security Networks would be a good choice.

I feel as though I made a contract with the devil. I was a customer since Decemeber 2010. When my panel was discovered as not connecting to anything for over a year, they came out and replaced it. However in order to replace it, they made me sign another 36 mo. contract. Otherwise I’d have to fix the faulty equipment myself or pay the remainder of the contract to get out of the contract.
I also found out the person that sold me the system wasn’t even licensed with the state and put his own passcode on the system instead of allowing me to do so. Therefore when and if the alarm was tripped, the police came out and I had to prove I lived in the house as I didn’t know the passcode.
When I actually did want to upgrade my system they offered no deals. Stating I had already upgraded my equipment. This was unscrupulous and shady business.
As a result, I’ve been stuck with the same equipment and trapped in the contract. I’m waiting out another year before I can leave. Also only recently discovered that my smoke alarms were never connected with the system.
I would never recommend this company even my worst enemy. I cannot believe they are with the BBB. They should be dropped.

System is works through the landline, which we no longer have. Quit the phone co. almost two years ago so the system had not been operable since then. This outfit never contacted us by mail to let us we were no longer being monitored, if in fact we ever were. Their web site seems to be inoperable, no one answers a phone call, yet they take money from my acct every for nothing. What crap.

Security Network failed to notify us when the alarm sounded numerous times. Living in South Texas, we needed this service and they failed to honor the agreement. Sent them a 5 week notice of cancellation and they fail to accept a written cancellation. Their service is no longer wanted and they use tactics that we owe them the full agreement. They failed to provide a service and payment is not warranted.
