WE paid 3 years up front, check was cashed no problem. WE received a letter not even 3 months later saying that American Alarm Security Inc did not pay Moni so our home is not being monitored. Trying to get money back but having trouble doing so. I do NOT recommend using Moni or American Alarm for your alarm company. We have had to get another alarm company to monitor our home. This company does not uphold its end when you use them. DO NOT USE EITHER. Hope this helps someone. We are out over $1000.

We own a small machine shop. We received a vacate the premises notice from property management. We had the alarm system installed and signed an "installation agreement" for five years. We gave them notice that we had to leave that location. Four months later we received a BOC notice for daily rates $41.00 until 2021. They said maybe we could work something out. Since they are not servicing us, how can they charge us the same rate. Ironically prior to this, we had their service rep. come by and she quoted us more monthly and another installation fee. How can we breach a contract which they are not honoring? Watch out for this company. I wish I had read the reviews before signing up.

My experience with American Alarm wasnt good; their service department will respond usually promptly, but there will be no resolution the problems and their disinterested billing department did not mail or email the monthly monitoring statements, that was my responsibility to remember.. AA tried to collect monies 3x for a lifetime warrantied motion sensor that failed. I cancelled my service & went with a competitor.

They failed to install the service as promised. I called to cancel the service and was told to return equipment. I returned the equipment. A week later I am billed hundreds of dollars in "cancellation fees" and after I called back an angry customer rep told me I cancelled service the "wrong way" by calling and that I will have to pay for this mistake. They made it impossibly difficult to cancel service and threatened to send my bill to collections if I did not pay. After I filled out a cancellation form online, I was still on the hook for the fee. I never even had a chance to use the service. If I had the time I would have taken this to court and filed a complaint with FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection for their fraudulent business practice.

Very unhappy with their service. Non responsive to hardware issues. The app and Internet solution are out dated. I would not recommend this company
