Security System Overview
B-Safe Security offers a basic package, which utilizes Honeywell equipment and costs zero down and $39.95/month for 36 months. When you purchase this cellular-based system B-Safe leases the equipment to you until the end of the initial contract, at which time you obtain full ownership. The monthly price can be locked in if you are willing to sign a five year agreement instead of three.
There are other options available. For example, if you have a phone-line and would like to run the equipment through it then the monthly fee is only $29.95/month. Or, if you’d like to go with the wireless system and have the capability to access it remotely from your smart phone then it is $49.95/month. Regardless of the package that you chose, each new system comes with the following equipment:
- Control panel
- Key pad
- Motion detector
- 3 door contacts
- Backup battery
- Sign & stickers
According to their about page, B-Safe Security’s mission is “To provide integrated electronic security and life safety solutions to businesses, government, and homes, utilizing cutting edge technology and quality engineered products, along with experienced and outstanding customer service, to help ensure the safety of our clients.” Based on customer testimonials and their A- rating with the Better Business Bureau B-Safe has lived up to their goals.
As an example of their quality services, B-Safe Alarms boast of an average response time of less than 20 seconds, which is among the best response times in the industry. Needless to say, as a community business leader and a long time security dealer B-Safe Security has gained the trust of the communities they serve.
B-Safe Security’s warranty policy is lacking compared to most companies in the industry. For example, the average warranty is around one to two years for parts and labor. Conversely, B-Safe only offers customers the basic 90 day manufacturer’s warranty. This means that customers are left without coverage on their systems for almost the entire life of the contract (3-5 years) unless they purchase an “extended service agreement.”
Another issue that some potential clientele might have is that B-Safe only offers customers the option to lease a system rather than purchasing it. The reason most security companies do this is to lock home owners into a multiyear agreement paying a monthly monitoring fee; this is where most companies make their money. However, there are some companies that allow new customers the option to purchase the system upfront and pay on a month-to-month basis, which for many homeowners is a better option.
With a B-Safe Security home automation system it is easy to attain a comfortable, energy efficient home while saving money along the way. The B-Safe package utilizes Z-Wave technology, which connects all the lights, doors, and appliances in the home. According to B Safe, the best features offered through their home automation program are:
- Ability to control the thermostat remotely
- Automate lighting schedules and setting, even while on vacation
- Manage window shades, appliance, and other features for optimal effectiveness
- Connect your IP video surveillance to your phone and receive live feeds
- Same money on monthly utility bills through temperature control
Another great amenity offered through B Safe is their wireless communication system called B-Connected, which is a security product that enables you to view surveillance video from the convenience of your laptop computer and/or your smart phone. With B-Connected, you can instantly view your home when at work, on vacation, or at the coffee shop.
The downside to the B-Safe options is that each part of the home automation system has to be bought on an individual basis and they do not offer many of the services that other home security companies provide. For example, other companies will package the lighting, doors, appliance devices, and video cameras into one package that comes with their top home security option. Furthermore, many security companies provide services like free text/emails, weather alerts, flood sensors, freeze-pipe detectors, garage door sensors and many others.
