Frontpoint’s equipment and monitoring cost are competitive with other leading security companies. Frontpoint home security offers monitoring services in three packages from which customers may choose: protection monitoring, interactive monitoring, and ultimate monitoring. Frontpoint’s monthly cost ranges from $34.99-49.99. Frontpoint security systems are all 100% cellular monitoring services, with the higher-priced option offering additional add-ons like home automation for smart home devices and video surveillance monitoring. The mobile app is included in the Interactive and Ultimate plan only and you need a smartphone mobile device to have access.

Contracts are available for 36 months. There is a 30-day, risk-free trial. If you are unhappy with your alarm systems you may get your money back.

Mobile App and Upgraded Technology

Frontpoint also makes a diligent effort to constantly improve their technology. The Frontpoint app gives you remote access and lets you control your system from anywhere using your mobile phone or tablet. In addition to the mobile app, technology advances extend to Frontpoint’s control panels. Current customers have the opportunity to upgrade their existing Simon XT control panel to the Qolsys’ IQ Touch-Screen Control Panel. New customers now also have the option to purchase the Touch-Screen control panel as a way to upgrade and receive the latest home security technology. This control panel creates an interface that makes full-system functionality easier to navigate than ever. Home Automation Options

Frontpoint has a multitude of home automation options in its “Professional Package”. For $49.99/month customers receive the Frontpoint home automation and video monitoring on top of the basic security package. With this plan, you’ll be notified immediately of any alarm activity within the home—whether it’s a matter of security or an environmental threat.  You’ll also be reminded if you leave without arming your system, using the Frontpoint location-based Geo-Services.

An excellent offer that comes with this program is the light control feature. You can customize an on/off schedule or set lights to trigger automatically in reaction to a sensor alarm. There is also environmental protection to protect you against Carbon Monoxide (CO), extreme temperatures, or flooding. With the Interactive plan, you additionally get sensors and thermostats to guard against these calamities.

This Frontpoint package includes a 30-day money-back guarantee trial period, free text and email notifications, and the option to do self-installation.

However, Frontpoint does not sell the door locks,  or a thermostat, etc. The reason for this is that the Frontpoint home automation system is a self-setup, so it can be difficult for someone to install their own locks and thermostats so they operate correctly.

Another potential issue for many is that Frontpoint’s automation system is a self-setup system. While the system is generally simple to set up, there are some who may struggle with connecting it to their smart home devices.

    We were worried about installing the system ourselves, but it was super easy. Their customer service is amazing. They are polite, professional, and friendly. They are responsive and helpful. They are helpful with setup, with billing, with technical questions, and with the couple of false alarms that I caused. My favorite feature is actually the mobile app. I can set and disarm the alarm from anywhere and can see when and where family or friends entered or left the house. Most importantly, I have peace of mind for a reasonable price and with great customer service!

    Easy to install and phone customer service was excellent with answers to my questions. We really like the phone app with arm/disarm capabilities as well as the “peek-in” feature. Feeling of security cannot be more important. We are extremely happy with our Frontpoint system.

    I purchased this system when my husband died. I did not turn it on and got tired of hearing the beep when a door was opened so I unplugged the system. I can’t wait to come to the end of my contract so I can save the money each month that I spend on something I do not use.

    I couldn’t use my old system anymore because the old sensors kept triggering false alarms so I initially turned to ADT to upgrade my system since I had already been a customer for years. They wanted to charge almost $1000 to upgrade my system so I went shopping and found FrontPoint and a whole new system for only $360 and gave me a 2 months free trial. Only when called to cancel ADT did they suddenly express interest in keeping me as customer invoking my years with them and saying had the realized that I was serious about leaving we could have worked something out—and warning me that FrontPoint would be a disappointment.

    Well ADT was wrong. FrontPoint threw in extra sensors for my sliding glass doors and picked up express overnight shipping charges when I told them I was leaving on vacation. Any apprehension I might have had about installing the system myself evaporated with calls to their helpful and patient customer service reps. I was done in 20 minutes and enjoyed my vacation. The system and service is wonderful—and for $10 less a month than the equivalent from ADT. I can’t recommend them enough.

    By far the best customer support team. Such an easy process to setup and get it started it took me max 20min. When we moved the whole process was easy as it was before and they changed everything over for me. The app is the best part and got me to sign up. such a convenience to turn it on when you forget while rushing in the morning. I def recommend to my family and friends.

    Have had Frontpoint for about 2 years now, I did a lot of research before signing up for Frontpoint, my research was not in vain, haven’t had any significant issues, just minor such as panel battery replacement, minor sensor issue which got resolved after a phone call to customer service. Customer service is great, they are easily reachable and very nice to the customers.

    I find our system goes wacko sometimes for no apparent reason and what our phone app tells us is happening (doors open, windows tampered with) isn’t actually happening at all OR what the Frontpoint people are seeing from their end when I call in to get help in resolving the issues. By wacko, I mean the alarm goes off or it chimes repeatedly (every ten seconds or so, endlessly unless you disarm the system), but I can’t find anything left open or tampered with, and then when I check my phone app to see what the system perceives as the problem, it tells me doors are open that are not, or that a window has been tampered with. And I know these things are not true, because I’ve been home all day and not a soul but me has been in or around the house or yard (we live in a very rural area). So we just keep our system set at chime now, and don’t have it set to notify the police or we would be deaf and constantly have false alarms.

    I have been a customer now for about 5 years. You need to install the system yourself….in order to acomplish the install you need to be able to pull the backing off adhesive and stick things to doors, windows, and walls.

    When the home across the street from me got robbed I decided it was time to get an alarm system. I looked into a bunch of different options including big national companies like ADT adm some small local companies. The first big difference was cost. Yes ADT says you get an alarm system installed for $99…. That system is great if you live in a one room studio with no windows. All you get for $99 is a single door alarm, a motion detector, a key chain fob, and the control unit.

    When I priced out the system I need to cover my home it was going to be well over $1,000 since I wanted contacts for each door and Window. With Frontpoint my system ran me $500. Not cheap, but I added some detectors and water intrusion detectors.

    Another big difference is the monthly cost to monitor. Once you start adding on fire and water intrusion with the big boys the monthly cost to monitor goes way up…. If you want to get into home automation and that number is insane. My monthly including, security, fire, carbon monoxide. Water intrusion, and home automation is $49.

    Over the years I have had to call support a few times to add a lock or because I had an issue with a sensor. They have always been great to work with and spent as much time as needed to work through the problem.

    Over the 5 years I have been with Frontpoint I have had a minimum of 20 friends and family sign up and not one has ever come back to me with an issue or complaint.

    When I first moved back into a family home, I experienced a burglary. All of my jewelry gone. I researched the systems out there and found this highly rated, portable, easy to install. I referred a friend and she loves it too. I find the service prompt, polite, patient and professional. Even a technically challenged person can be walked through this system by your staff.
    My only concern is that it is internet based, so that if that goes down the system might tool. However, any other system is electric based, so any other system is vulnerable as well.
    I also love the cameras that allow me 24/7 views of my home from anywhere, as well as the app that allows others entry when I am away.
    I think this is a brilliant system and I will recommend it to anyone who asks.

    I contacted Frontpoint after researching on the web and they consistently were ranked number 1 and their customer service was something that was always highlighted as being great.

    I called and spoke to them and my first impression was that they were very knowledgable an also looking out for me and provided several options. After a few email exchanges I was happy to proceed and it was the same person I had originally spoken to that answered my emails and I signed up with – it was nice to have this continuity.

    My equipment was delivered on time as expected and was very easy to set up. I did call before activating to get some advise on installation and the team were very helpful and answered my call without a wait. Activation was also simple and quick.

    After having time to use the web portal and better understand my system, I decided to get some additional equipment and it was just as easy as the first time.

    The web portal is very simple to use as is their app on my phone. I love the notifications feature that is fully customizable.

    If you are looking for a complete home security system, look no further than Frontpoint, they have it all – great products, good prices and fantastic customer service.

    Front Point is my first alarm system I’ve ever had. In comparison to other companies, their equipment costs are a little higher, but their monthly fees are lower. The company has good reviews which made it easy for me to select an alarm system.

    Overall, the DIY set-up was simple. The double-sided adhesive they send is not durable. I’v had a sensor and fire alarm fall, triggering the alarm system to go off. I was immediately contacted by the alarm company and was able to inform them it was a false alarm. On the positive side, I was able to confirm they’re effective at monitoring my alarm system.

    My interaction with their different service areas has been a positive one. Whenever I contact them, they immediately answer my call and address my needs. I’m very pleased I selected Front Point as my security alarm system.

    The system is Fantastic & Reliable. I would have given it 10 Stars, but Frontpoint is kinda being left behind in the technology department. For example, other companies have been using touch screen control panels for a long time. Frontpoint just recently got one & it is very expensive (for new & existing customers). This is a minor issue. I would rather have a reliable security system, than a fancy one & Frontpoint definitely delivers on the reliability & ease of setup & use.

    Easy to install. Easy to use. Have had no false alarms so far, after a couple of months. I have four small dogs and they haven’t set off the motion detectors. I feel so much better now, leaving my windows open when I go to bed or to work. No hidden or surprise costs. Their customer service rep who explained the system was awesome.
