I've never had a problem with Frontpoint's customer support or equipment. It was easy to install, and anytime I've called, they fully resolve any issues. I went with this company due primarily to the cost and online research that shwoed they were the one for me to choose.Read More

They were more cost effective for us than ADT. We didn’t need as much equipment in order to cover the square footage of our home as we would’ve needed with ADT. Since it was all self-installation too, we went with it. We’ve had it since November and everything seems to work well. It was incredibly easy to set up everything and any additional pieces are very inexpensive. They’re very reliable.Read More

Security System Overview

Frontpoint provides world-class customer service backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee. Their mission is to deliver an A+ customer experience and a Safer, Smarter, Simpler home security solution. They do so with a wide range of wireless sensors including window sensors, door sensors, motion sensors, carbon monoxide detectors, and glass break sensors to detect signs of trouble. See below for our Frontpoint Security review.

Cost

Equipment and monitoring fees are competitive with other leading security companies. Frontpoint home security offers monitoring services in three packages from which customers may choose: protection monitoring, interactive monitoring, and ultimate monitoring. These Frontpoint systems have a monthly fee for professional monitoring, but that price is not disclosed on the website as prices may vary depending on each individual home.  We were, however able to get some numbers for standard costs of alarm monitoring.  The monthly price ranges from $34.99-49.99. Frontpoint security systems are all 100% cellular monitoring services, with the higher priced option offering additional add-ons like home automation controls and video surveillance monitoring. The mobile app is included in the Interactive and Ultimate plan only.

Contracts are available for 12 and 36 months. However, there is a $99 minimum equipment purchase. Pre-made, comprehensive security packages range from $199.95 – $349.95. Customers own all the Frontpoint equipment they’ve purchased and have a  30-day, risk-free trial. If you are unhappy with your alarm systems you may get your money back.

Here’s  what you get with Frontpoint Interactive Monitoring ($44.99/month):

  • 100% Cellular – Crash and Smash Guarantee
  • Intrusion
  • Fire
  • Environmental
  • Life Safety
  • 24/7 Professional Monitoring

Plus interactive features such as:

  • Email and Text Alerts
  • Remote Access and Control
  • Frontpoint app
  • Light controls
  • Geo-Services
  • Crash and Smash

The Good

Frontpoint equipment is easy-to-install. There are no installation fees, and Frontpoint understands the value of diligent customer service. One of the major selling points that helps minimize consumer risk is their 30-day money-back guarantee, so a customer can try Frontpoint security systems out and see for themselves. It appears that they satisfy most of their customers. Frontpoint has a loyal following. Their customers have continually rated them highly and applauded their services.

Some of Frontpoint’s great features include:

FrontPoint Skybell

  • NEW– Integrated Skybell Video Doorbell Camera
    • (available only with the Ultimate plan)
  • 100% cellular monitoring – safe and reliable
  • 100% wireless equipment – easy and portable
  • Mobile apps – interactive remote control
  • Full protection – intrusion, fire, environmental and medical emergencies
  • Upfront pricing – no hidden fees + 30day Risk-Free Trial
  • Easy to install – No drilling or hammering needed
  • Crash and Smash – Patented technology
  • Take it with you when you move – great for real estate investors

Frontpoint uses a simpler approach to monitoring options by offering a 100% cellular connection. Unlike other security companies, their wireless system is not dependent on a phone line, internet connection, or any other system within a home. Their system won’t go down if the landline or internet fails and all communication is built into the system itself.

While the system may be DIY, hundreds of happy customers have testified how easy it is to install. In addition, Frontpoint configures the system to your home before shipping it. Once you’ve installed the system, a quick call to Frontpoint will activate it and make sure it’s performing properly, or you can use their new self-activation process provided in the box. To top it off Frontpoint’s Monitoring Center is one of the highest-rated monitoring facilities in the country based on unbiased reviews.

Frontpoint also makes a diligent effort to constantly improve their technology. The Frontpoint app lets you control your system from anywhere using your mobile phone or tablet. In addition to the mobile app, technology advances extend to Frontpoint’s control panels. Current customers have the opportunity to upgrade their existing Simon XT control panel to the Qolsys’ IQ Touch-Screen Control Panel. New customers now also have the option to purchase the Touch-Screen control panel as a way to upgrade and receive the latest home security technology. This control panel creates an interface that makes full-system functionality easier to navigate than ever. This control panel is compatible with all existing Frontpoint sensors and is designed to support the newest technological advancements made in sensors and monitoring. The features of this updated control panel include:

  • 7-inch LCD resistive touchscreen (800 x 480 resolution)
  • Capable of supporting up to 39 sensors
  • 91 dBa internal siren
  • 24-hour lithium-ion backup battery
  • Tabletop stand and wall mount kit
  • SD card slot & customizable photo frame screensaver
  • Weather application included
  • Camera app and front-facing camera

Our experts have found that Frontpoint is reliable and they take care of their customers. Here are reasons as to why our experts believe Frontpoint provides quality home security systems:

  • The majority of their customer base has had an overwhelmingly positive response.
  • Frontpoint has only been in business since 2007, but they have already made an impression on the home security industry.

In addition to all this Frontpoint continues to innovate recently offering its customers with new Wi-Fi doorbell security cameras. These doorbell cameras include a motion detector and 2-way communication so you can always see who’s at the door through video surveillance and they never have to see you.

The Bad

The main drawbacks to Frontpoint that we found are as follows:

  • Upfront Costs: While equipment fees start at $99, they may reach as high as $449 if you chose to upgrade packages. For example, a base package includes 3 window sensors/door sensors.  If you were to customize their base package to include 10 extra door sensors/window sensors, you would pay close to $248.90 out of pocket.
  • Frontpoint Security Equipment Warranty: FrontPoint only offers a 3-year warranty on their equipment.  Many other competitors offer lifetime equipment warranties.
  • Time in Business: Frontpoint was founded in 2007. They continue to improve their service each year, but they are not as “established” as some of the other companies who have been in the industry for decades.

The Bottom Line

Frontpoint is one of the best in customer service, and anybody looking to use their services can’t go wrong.  And if they do… Frontpoint will make it right. They’re also rated highly pretty much anywhere you look, and there are hundreds of five-star ratings. They lay out all their information clearly on their website, and you can request a quote online. They provide great customer service, no hidden fees, 30-day risk-free guarantee, and top of the line technology and equipment. There is a reason they are one of the best companies with whom to work. Visit their site today!

I DO NOT recommend Frontpoint. They use sketchy tactics to get customers. I switched from cox home life to frontpoint because cox required you to pay for the device upfront and it was close to $800. When I called frontpoint, they told me I paid a monthly fee so I assumed that meant that I was renting the equipment. Now that I’m moving and don’t need the equipment they informed me that I own the equipment and am on a 36 month contract and I need to pay 80% to cancel.

While I’m sure the contract stated that, I was never verbally told that. I was buying a home at the time and was presented with multiple contracts so it’s on me for not reading the fine print.

They had no problem verbally telling me how much it would cost to cancel though.

    Shady tactics! Be aware!

I have installed the shipped security products (door/window sensors, control panel, door lock, motion sensor, glass break sensor, and doorbell camera) with the help of the Frontpoint app and tech support over the phone. All went smoothly with only minor complications that were quickly overcome. The Frontpoint telephone tech support is a game changer. It is the finest tech support I have ever experience. They are most patient as I race around my home testing the sensors and going back to the control panel. All equipment works as expected an knowing that an experienced Frontpoint tech support person is just a 10 digit phone call away is the most promising peach of mind you could ever expect from a DIY company.

I was choosing to go with adt but the representative that was helping me was very rude and just should never have been in customer service. When i filled out the prompts and was contacted by front point from the beginning my experience has been the greatest. The rep Mike and Tequila were awesome and they really made my experience the beat ever. I can’t wait until my equipment makes it here

When I bought my home I was bombarded with different home automation/security systems from many competitors including ADT. ADT contacted me non-stop before I actually gotten very upset and they stopped finally and I am glad I didn’t go with them. Frontpoint offered me an amazing package with great discounts on there equipment and even extra equipment for free. I love the customer service, and if I leave the alarm on and accidentally open a door or trip a sensor within minutes they are calling me to assure that me and my family is doing OK,this is wonderful and makes me very happy that I am really protected. Z-wave products make life easy, the app,and the touch panel makes everything worth it. Any problem I ever had was resolved fully

I had a terrible experience with this company. I never used the product and paid $49 a month for over 2-years. I called to discontinue service and the customer service representive, David, was very rude and condescending. I will need to pay over $560 if I would like to discontinue service. He told me that “if I did not intend to use this service, then this was not a good choice for me.” He compared the use of Frontpoint to a cell phone provider. When I questioned his logic, and why he was saying this — he argued with me about why I was incorrect.
There was a tremendous difference in tone and flexibility with the representives who set up the service, and those who answer the calls to discontinue service.
I understand that not activiating the service was an odd choice, but I was not asking for a refund. I found the set up process difficult (the installation of the video cameras) and kept putting it off until I sort of gave up on the whole thing. Regardless, the call with David was unpleasant and unprofessional. I would be very careful about what you are signing up for when you choose this company.

It was my first time ever trying a security system. I was going to travel and I wanted to leave everything set up. I was supposed to receive the systems on Thursday. I called today and they said that unfortunately it seems the equipment is lost they would refund the 25 dollar fee and they could resend the new equipment. I had a really bad experience, I can’t say that I would recommend Frontpoint.

Service was ok, but if you move and no longer need the service cancelling is a nightmare. If you cancel before you contract is up you still get charged 80% of your contract. and if you tell the Rep. to using the existing Account you do not get informed that they can change the amount and pull it out of your checking account so you get charged for another month of Service. NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THIS COMPANY AND WILL NEVER EVER USE IT AGAIN AND CERTAINLY WILL NOT RECOMMEND FROINTPOINT TO ANY ONE. THEY ARE CERTAINLY NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH THE CUSTOMER OUT 395.51 FIR SERVICE NOT BEING USED. ALSO HAD TO PAY A 30 DAY NOTICE THEY QUOTE YOU THE AMOUNT THAT YOU WILL HAVE FOR YOUR FINAL PMT. BUT BE WISE THEY DO NOT INCLUDE THE TAXES IN THERE. NEVER AGAIN.

Wow these people are relentless!!! I asked for a quote via email and then was bobmarded with over 20 phone calls in three days. Guys, i get it you want to talk but calling over 5 times a day is not a good way to get someone’s attention! If you DO NOT want annoying sales people stay away from these people! Plus there are better systems out there that have equivalent pricing.

The initial sales call is very pushy, but i was ready to buy, so it didn’t really put me off. I also liked the idea that the sales rep sold me on which was that i would always be able to contact him directly. Despite my attempts to do so i have never spoken to him again since The initial sales call. Not that it matters because i realize now that it doesn’t matter who you talk to at frontpoint. The problem is the equipment, so short of changing the equipment to something which isn’t cheap junk, no one at front point will be able to help.

The first 3 months of our frontpoint service was excellent and mostly trouble free. Their customer service representatives have for the most part been nice and eager to try to help, but nice is irrelevant when the equipment doesn’t function as it should. The equipment is bulky and looks old and clunky. After 12 months it started to function as such. Sometimes taking several minutes to several hours to actually arm and disarm, sometimes never actualy arming at all. One night we went out for a Christmas gathering, and in the few hours we were gone we could not manage to remotely arm the system and when we returned the system was still not responsive via the app. The app showed repeated arming signals being sent, but never managed to successfully arm. Attempting to resolve this with customer service always resulted in “your signal looks good.” They have offered to escalate it further and have me sit on the phone and troubleshoot the system, but I’m afraid i don’t have that kind of time, nor would i want to waste it on troubleshooting if i did.

The door sensors are an eyesore. Our door leading into the garage is sprung and closes on its own, so it slams a lot. The door closing itself was enough to damage the door sensor. Frontpoint offered to sell me a new one. I was able to make it work again by moving the magnet portion of the switch to where it touches the sensor when the door closes to actuate the switch.

The sensors on the exterior garage door get stuck often, showing the door is open when it is not. So you end up having to open and close it a few times before it works again. When i called them their questions were so idiotic and condescending that I hung up and decided to just live with it.

Their motion sensors are a joke. We had to reposition them so many times to get them to stop giving false alarms, to the point where their locations are practically useless. We were recently out of the country and the false alarms started again. Since we were unreachable when the company frontpoint contracts the monitoring duties to would call, they dispatched the police for every false alarm, which has now resulted in a bill from the local sheriff’s department. So we had to start using the system in stay mode only, which only works if an intruder comes in through a door. Of course the offending sensor stopped activating after we switched to stay.

Next theres the delay. 30 seconds for the alarm to go off, and 30 seconds of the alarm actually going off before frontpoints monitoring cronies lift a finger. That’s a minute. One minute for an intruder to wander around your house and do whatever they want before anyone notices.

Where I’m at now is having to pay both frontpoint and another alarm company for monitoring services, because paying for the time left in your contract to receive nothing sounds incredibly stupid to me. I feel like frontpoint generates more revenue from contract cancellations than they do from actual subscribers.

I look forward to the day I can remove all of the frontpoint equipment and throw it in the trash where it belongs. My house is pre wired so every window and door has a sensor on it, this includes motion or glass break sensors in all rooms. I’d much rather have the complete coverage and dependability of the hard wired equipment.

I was totally on board with Frontpoint. No problems. Great customer service- the system seemed fine. Bu then… I received a notification that my price was going up! Apparently state taxes have gone up- or so I was told, so they have to raise their prices. Now this is odd, considering I am in a 3 year contract. For every contract I’ve ever been in , the price stays the same for the entire contract period. I suppose Frontpoint is above the rules on this– as they have raised my price 2 dollars a month. I know it’s not that much, but over two and a half years, it really adds up. And who is to say they won’t do it again? What good is a contract is the company is breaking it. Honestly disappointed here.

The product is ok. Compared to others in the same market for the price it is worth it. However, they lock you in for 3 YEARS! and they do not let you know that, you have to read the fine print. I moved to an apartment and the only way for me to get out of my contract is to pay hundreds of dollars or transfer service and equipment to someone else. Buyer beware. I am now being chargerd $45 a month for something I can’t get rid of! Once I do I will never deal with this company again.

We’ve had Frontpoint for about a year now, 2 more years before we can get out of the expensive monthly monitoring :-(

The biggest issue with monitored alarm systems is that the scenarios they advertise are unrealistic. Your local police assume any call from an alarm system is a false alarm, and so they don’t show up until 30 minutes later and will often charge you for a false alarm unless they see robbers in your house. Which isn’t likely 30 minutes later! In a real emergency you need to call 911 yourself anyway to get fast response.

Save yourself monitoring fees and just get a smart home system that sounds a siren when a sensor is triggered. That should alert you and scare them away, and if you’re actually in danger call 911 yourself.

I signed up with Frontpoint in 2015 because I liked the user-friendly technology and the idea of self-installing with no contract terms. Over the past two years the system has not been reliable with false alarms and faulty equipment (door sensors) that I have replaced a couple of times. Today I decided to cancel and was informed that I was locked into a 36 month contract!!! Never would have purchased in the first place if the sales rep had told me I was locked in for 3 years. Ironically, I had turned to Frontpoint after a bad experience with a local alarm company that had made it difficult to terminate service. Fortunately, I only have about 8 months left (with 30 days advance written notice required). Buyer beware, Frontpoint is sleazy.

I paid up front for the alarm, used a ‘birthdate credit score”, called to see when i could expect my delivery 2 weeks later because i hadnt recieved an email or phone call letting me know the delivery date, just to be told that there was a credit freeze (there isnt) on my credit score so they canceled my order without contacting me. When i asked why i wasnt contacted to let me know it had been canceled, they didnt know. At least i have a refund coming to me. Now i just have to decide on ADT or simplisafe. Frontpoint is a joke.

Don’t waste your time or money with Frontpoint. I’ve had this system for about a year. It’s an old house and the doors are recessed in the frames. I had to drill holes in the doors and frames to mount the sensors. Now, one the sensors has gone bad. This item has been discontinued. I either have to drill new holes, or as they suggested drill original holes deeper an pack caulk around the newer slimmer sensor. If that goes bad it will be real problem trying to get out. I cannot begin to count the number of false alarms I get. So, now if there is an alarm from one certain door, they ignore it. What good is that? When I do get this 3 yr contract paid off, I’m putting this system where it belongs, in the trash.

Frontpoint equipment may be basic, but it works. Their customer service is excellent–pleasant, efficient, and competent. Rarely keep you on hold at all. When I have needed replacement batteries and new signs, they have been cheerfully replaced without cost. Only equipment problems have been a couple false motion sensor alarms–probably caused by my cats walking across surfaces they should not have been able to reach.

Stay clear of this system!!! The sensors fall of the wall constantly, the monthly fee is overpriced (44.95/month). They have a horrendous cancellation policy 80% of remaining balance of term, which is locked in at 3 years minimum. You can find many better alternatives out there and half the price without the ridiculous cancellation fees.

I am new to frontpoint for security. I have had some of the competitors and wasn’t happy. So far I am happy. Everything is working as it should. However there is a few things I need to address from reading these reviews. First frontpoint has a standard contract, its 3 years. If you move you can take the system with you. But on the other hand just because you moved and no longer need the system doesn’t mean you get to cancel free of charge. You had 30 days to make that decision. So many people on here give zeros because theyre two years in and cant cancel free of charge. When you buy are car and decide you no longer want it, can you just give the car back free of charge and stop payments? Get real people. Its part of how they make money, if you don’t like it, maybe you should review the contract and not sign it.
Ok done with that rant, On the other hand this is a DIY system. You will need to be a little handy. It is fairly simple to install however if you can barely turn on your computer and check your email, you may want to look elsewhere. Nothing is fool proof and there will be errors along the way, it may be user error, it may be equipment error. Customer service was great for any errors I had. However I am a “tech geek” and fairly handy around the house. Again if you have problems troubleshooting or figuring out anything without instruction look for a company that will install for you.Now with that said the instructions are pretty clear but if you don’t understand something tech support will walk you through it.
The equipment works pretty good, however its by no means top notch. Its a fairly average system with your average features. I received the traditional control panel with no touch screen. This panel you will need to do some research, watch some videos, and play with it. Its interface is not the greatest and its loaded with buttons that have no real instruction on how to use them. The menu is not easy to get to and not user friendly to navigate. It will be very intimidating for users who struggle with technology. The door and window sensors are simple, they’re either on, off, opened, closed. Not much really to them. I also received the glass break sensor, this one is a bit tricky. Other than testing to make sure it is communicating with your control panel there is no real way of making sure the sensor actually works. That’s more faith you have to put into the sensor than I like. The smoke alarm is sort of the same way. Besides your typical test button and making sure it is communicating there is no way to test it to see if it will send the signal to the control panel when it sense’s heat and smoke. (test button only makes it beep) I did not opt for the motion sensors because I have a 60 lb pitbull, and with past experiences even with the “pet friendly” motion sensors you get false alarms. And in my city every false alarm after the first one charges a fee which goes higher every time.
The app is clean, its easy and simple. everything works but one thing. Notifications. As of right now it is not notifying me using the geocaching (tracks when you leave the house and tells you, you left a door open, or alarm is not armed) I have intentionally left the alarm unarmed and drove outside the required distance and was never notified. Im sure I can get this sorted out and will eventually get it to work, but as of right now I cant give credit for it working.
Overall the system is worth the money, it gives you a few neat features like if you wanted to convert to a smart home its compatible. But if you don’t want to it works fine as is. But with any security system, if you are not security minded, the system is junk. It doesn’t matter who got it from, adt, frontpoint, vivint, or jesus Christ himself. If you forget to arm it, don’t research how to use it and good points to install it at, Its useless. An alarm system is a secondary precaution, YOU are the first.

As of this review all the equipment was the most updated version offered from frontpoint on 11/10/2017.

    This company is a fraud!

In November of 2014 I contacted Frontpoint and explained to them that were building a downstairs apartment in our home, and that I was interested in opening an account.
I explained to the salesman (C.J.) that we were at least a year away from being ready to actually install the system, but that I wanted to have the equipment on hand. As a condition of the sale, it was agreed between C.J and myself was that we would not be billed until the system went live. In spite of this, we started seeing monthly charges debited from our credit card. We received the alarm system, and in late 2015 our local police station shut, so the Frontpoint system was no longer viable for us. I called Frontpoint and explained the situation, and they agreed to take back the alarm system. They never provided any service.

I have spoken with Frontpoint many times, and they have refused to refund us any of the almost $1000 they debited from our credit card. We were defrauded. Terrible company!

My job was relocated and I had to move from my house in Virginia to an apartment in Philadelphia where I didn’t need the system. There was no way I could cancel out and had $44.00 taken out of my checking account each month for a service I wasn’t using. Not having the budget to pay for this I was beside myself with anger with having to pay. Next time I’m getting a security system which will allow me to cancel in case of emergencies like the one I had. Their solution was to push it over to someone else. Frontpoint is being taken from my closet and thrown out the window.

I decided to go with frontpoint after looking into many security systems. Things seemed great but after my trial period I then was no longer able to use the app which after I was informed it would be an extra charge if I want this service as it was only a trial period! Someone should have told me. I then started having issues with my system being able to be armed when doors are actually opened how safe is that. Call costumer service they say its working and then are more concerned with getting my payment for the month! I also never get any emails from them another technical issue. I try to cancel and after being told I would only have a little fee before i signed up I was then informed I had to pay for every month left! So now i owe 800 if i want out of this contract. I was mislead and the company is not helpful and said i must be confused and should of had it in writing. Ridiculous I have never been so mislead and I asked mulitiple times to the sales rep ashley anderson is there were fees and she was straight up deceitful!

My system doest NOT work from the beginning. Stuff fell off the wall, signs fly off into the yard. There is NO real person to come set up stuff for you. Sales person is a hard sale, did not go over contract options, just wanted to sell and bail. I am deeply disappointed in this company. No idea how they are rated so high. Went with them bc they are cheaper. When this cheap system never works . I am paying 35 bucks a month for the 3 years contract for NOTHING! Stay away!

We have had no issues with Frontpoint, until recently. Their touch panel sent an alarm signal to their offices, but did not go off in our home and the app did not notify us either. We were home and the system was disarmed, so this was a completely useless alarm and something triggered by a faulty machine. However, when I asked Frontpoint to reimburse us for the $230 fine the city police department is charging us due to a false alarm, Frontpoint only offered $50, which barely covers 1 month of service. We are now shopping for a new company that has reliable equipment and good customer service.

We’ve had the service for almost 4 years. Yesterday I called to add more sensors. The technician walked me through a few different things including renaming our sensors, identifying each sensors location in the system and finally checking a battery. He was very patient and exact. I really appreciated the help as it was a task I was not looking forward to. Frontpoint made it easy. Thanks!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Frontpoint for 2.5 years. I recently accepted a new position in another state. The apartment we will be renting already has a preinstalled system that’s included in rent. I call Frontpoint, spoke with Trevor and he told me they are going to charge me $280 to cancel. I told him my situation, how my wife and I are going down to a single income for a little while, and how she’s 7 months pregnant and that the last thing we need is another fee tacked on to our moving expenses. They wouldn’t budge at all. I have had zero complaints with them up until this point. Apparently they don’t really value loyal customers. Especially when sometimes they can’t help it but they want to make sure they gouge you one more time as you leave. Consider this my last encounter with Frontpoint.

My husband and I have had Frontpoint for 5 years. After 4 years of service, we wanted to get the new touch screen control pad, so we ordered one and paid the $99 of whatever is was. When we got the new panel, it wouldn’t work right with our older sensors, at which point we had to send it back. It would have been nearly $1000 to replace all the sensors in our home. Despite having been customers for so long, Frontpoint did not offer to help upgrade our equipment or provide any other solution besides keeping our old equipment. Then when we went to cancel service a year later, they said that we would be charged for one more month because it was in the contract. So not only am I having to pay for another month of service, which I do not need, but they would not work with me at all to waive this charge, despite having spent thousands of dollars with them. I would not recommend this company to anyone, terrible customer service to a customer who has been loyal for 5 years. Very disappointed! Never again.

Had the following problems with the Frontpoint System after equipment was installed, activated and technicians indicated ALL functioning:
    1) 84-year old Mother fell trying to go to the restroom, pushed Panic button that was on a lanyard around her neck. No one came because the technician had left system in TEST MODE.
Mother laid in her own FECES for over 6-hours until she could gain strength to craw to a phone and call someone.
    2) Monitoring panel within the home was replaced over four times within the first 6-months.
Only one time out of all of the failures did a representative from Frontpoint notify me that there was a problem.
    3) Equipment is advertised and written specifications indicate that it will work within a given distance and on a standard WIFI speed.
Get ready to purchase special high speed internet, special high speed internet equipment and WIFI extenders to get receivers close enough for equipment to communicate.
    4) Spend your free time adjusting sensitivity of cameras (when you can connect) each time the weather changes (temperature, humidity, sunlight, moonlight, etc.).

If you want another service with hidden FEES and hidden fine print Frontpoint Security is the place for you….
You’re not told on the Sales call, BUT the agreement you’re signing up for is for 3-YEARS at the rate of the plan you select…
You pay for ALL of the equipment up front….
You install and setup ALL of the equipment yourself…
If system doesn’t not work right, if Frontpoint does not activate all of the monitoring on your system as requested, if equipment and/or system monitoring doesn’t work correctly as designed or described… That’s on YOU!
Frontpoint has you locked into a 3-YEAR contract that indicates long as they answer the phone and ATTEMPT to rectify the problem you still pay them for the service for 3-YEARS….
When you ask to talk to a Manager to have account reviewed for problems you’ve encountered, the Customer Service person indicates that MANAGEMENT DOES NOT TALK TO CONSUMERS.

I love Front point. At first I had so many issues with the sensors. Basically they keep falling off the door and causing a false alarm. However, every time I called Customer Service was excellent which is why I stayed. Once the issue was resolved and several sensors and tape specifically made for metal doors were sent out to accommodate our need, its been great.

I love Frontpoint so much I’ve been a customer for 2 years now.

Their equipment is marginal, and their 3 yr contract is very restrictive. The door sensors didn’t fit the molding and kept falling off. It’s a second home for me and as I approach retirement I’m trying to save on monthly expenses. I tried to return the equipment, but I’d still be responsible for 2 yrs of monthly charges. When I signed up they told me that if I wasn’t satisfied, I could return the equipment and cancel. In the fine print of the contract this appears not to be the case. There are many other companies out there that provide home security that don’t require such long contracts. I would never recommend Front point to anyone.

Terrible service that locks you in for at least 3 years! I tried to canceling because I was constantly “trouble shooting” with one of their employees and alarm still didn’t work. Not helpful at all and wasted at least an hour every time I called. Not worth the money at all! $700.00 in a cancelation fee!! Completely absurd!

Frontpont Sales people are not experienced and not knowledgeable of their own product. I had the worst sale experience, where I was trying to call frontpoint to get a quote so I can compare with other DIY security companies.

The sales person that I talked to, was very pushy to get the sale finalized while I kept telling him that i just need to get an idea of what your company has to offer then I will take my time to compare and choose what works best for me.

But, no he has this pride in his company that frontpoint is the best security company in the world and they have the best customer service compare to the company that I mentioned to him, which is Link Interactive. Well, giving the fact that he’s so pushy and not respecting other companies as well as not respecting my right to do my research and compare what would be best for me, I just see that they’re contradicting themselves. Comparing the experiece I had when I talked to Link Interactive, Link Interactive sales person seems very friendly not pushy at all and he respected the fact that I need to shop around and he even offered me to share the best offeres I get and he will do his best to beat the price.

Also, after reading all negative reviews about how horrible their experience with frontpoint I got encouraged to share my story and advice people to stay away from frontpoint.

Service is good but the equipment is mediocre. I’ve had the service for almost 2 years. Hot showers set off the fire detector, I’ve been on 3 vacations with false alarms to the point I wouldn’t bother arming the house. They sent a replacement sensor, they sent a replacement panel (due to low battery not charging), they will replace and send equipment without problem. But frankly I just don’t yet trust the system to work when we are not home without false alarms.

I’ve had Frontpoint Security for almost three years. First two- not much in the way of problems. Then I started getting “The [device/ID] is offline. Make sure the device has power” regarding various light Z-wave modules. At this point, I will say nothing has changed position as far as modules and control unit.
After a call to customer “Technical Support” [Very good, by the way], they went through all the checks and “what to do next” things they had in their bag.
Eventually, some of the lights would come on when they were not scheduled like 0800. Also, not go on when scheduled. Not good.
They said that they would send out a new control unit. Okay- got that next day. After setting it up, the lights could only be controlled by the mobile apps or computer; the control panel had no ability to turn a light on or off. That is not the way it’s supposed to work; it did work correctly for two years and 10 months: Asterisk then light ID= light on… Pound sign then light ID = light off.
So, another call. Next Tech said [after 1-1/2 hours] he would send out another control unit. He said “it was Labor Day weekend so I would get it Wednesday.” Nope… I called back late Thursday, and Tech guy said no record of one sent- he would get one out ASAP with Saturday delivery.
Got it Saturday, and called Tech support. This guy was not so sure this was the problem [eventually, he was right], but after trying many resets and such- he said to change the unit if I wanted to. I did…
He said my module locations were not “chain linked” properly. Even though they all worked fine, from all locations [even 2000 miles away], from day-one, and nothing has been moved. Modules that have “line of sight” with one-another and all being with-in 15 feet from control unit and other modules are not in the same “chain”? And the control unit can’t turn them on/off?
Last tech said it was a different firmware on the newer control units that are the cause and that I can double-tap the “*” [asterisk] to turn everything on [that works okay…] and then use the mobile apps to turn the lights I don’t want off. Really?
Contract up in a month… Might be going elsewhere. Oh, yeah, that’s another story; I was told I could save $72 dollars over 3 years by renewing contract now. But anything goes wrong and I BUY what is needed [nothing left is still under 3 year warranty], and if I cancel because of any additional problems, I pay 80% of remaining contract. Wow! Not this guy!
Too bad… I was really liking Frontpoint- up until now.

Everything about this security system is great. They don’t do a lot of advertising which keeps the monitoring costs down. The billing is simple. Cancellation of service doesn’t apply as there is no contract since you purchase the equipment. The delivery of equipment is fast and free. Even replacement equipment. The customer service is above par. I have never had a bad experience with any of the reps I have spoken with from the first contact with the company to the latest regarding moving assistance.

After being with this company for almost 3 years (4 months shy), I sold my home and am living with family. I have not had a permanent address since July 18th. I do not know when the next purchase will occur. I informed Frontpoint of this situation and sent in a letter of cancellation, as requested. They stated I would have to pay the remaining balance and a cancellation fee. After explaining over and over it is not fair, especially after paying all my monthly on time every time. Avoid this, and all, companies that try to push for the cancellation fees in situations that are not helped. I would have remained with the company if they would have been cooperative.

I had bought a condominium in Aurora, CO and it was a first floor condo and I was very concerned about being broken into. I was a new transplant to CO who didn’t know my way around, I felt desperate, and Frontpoint took advantage of me by sticking me into a three-year contract. I eventually bought in a safer neighborhood in Denver with a second-floor and I do not need a burglar alarm. I am basically screwed, even if I bought out of my contract there’s still 24 months left on it and I would be either: A) on the hook for $45/month for the next 24 months; or, responsible for $827.82 to get out of the contract.

They claim to offer a service where you can transfer your alarm to a third party, but nobody is interested in paying their high rates so I am stuck.

FRONTPOINT TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY FEAR.

They are the WORST!!!! I ordered a system that they delivered a week late, so it sat on my front door like a red flag when I was out of town, then I returned the system without using it and they continued to BILL ME FOR MONTHLY SERVICE for five months after I returned it. I had to dispute it with my credit card and put a merchant block. They continue to call and harass my emergency contacts and send threatening emails even though I have returned the equipment and squared everything up. Corrupt and disorganized. I have spent HOURS on the phone with them trying to clear this up to no avail – I have returned and cancelled everything and they continue to threaten collections for money I don’t owe them. AVOID THEM!!!!

Purchased my Frontpoint security system July 28th, my family recently purchased our forever home and wanted to protect our home and family. I told Frontpoints representative that we would not take possession of our home until August 14th so it would have to be delivered to our current address, needless to say it was shipped and delivered to our furture residence. When I called customer service they offered no help whatsoever, they said I would have to go over and get my package. When I told the customer service department how I’ve paid for my equipment and the first month of service and have nothing to show for it. I WAS TOLD AND I QUOTE WHATS THE BIG DEAL YOU WOULDN’T OF BEEN ABLE TO USE IT UNTIL YOU MOVEDVIN ANYWAY! THISBIS FROM FRONTPOINTS CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, WHICH THEY’RE ONLY JOB IS TO RESOLVE PROBLEMS AND AS FAR AS I’M CONCERNED THEY MIGHT AS WELL OF TOLD ME TO KICK ROCKS!! I SURE HOPE THEY’RE SECURITY SYSTEM WORKS BETTER THAN THEIR SALES DEPARTMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I WILL POST IF SITUATION GETS RESOLVED AND WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW HOW SYSTEM PERFORMS.
