Frontpoint’s equipment and monitoring cost are competitive with other leading security companies. Frontpoint home security offers monitoring services in three packages from which customers may choose: protection monitoring, interactive monitoring, and ultimate monitoring. Frontpoint’s monthly cost ranges from $34.99-49.99. Frontpoint security systems are all 100% cellular monitoring services, with the higher-priced option offering additional add-ons like home automation for smart home devices and video surveillance monitoring. The mobile app is included in the Interactive and Ultimate plan only and you need a smartphone mobile device to have access.

Contracts are available for 36 months. There is a 30-day, risk-free trial. If you are unhappy with your alarm systems you may get your money back.

Mobile App and Upgraded Technology

Frontpoint also makes a diligent effort to constantly improve their technology. The Frontpoint app gives you remote access and lets you control your system from anywhere using your mobile phone or tablet. In addition to the mobile app, technology advances extend to Frontpoint’s control panels. Home Automation Options

Frontpoint has a multitude of home automation options in its “Professional Package”. For $49.99/month customers receive the Frontpoint home automation and video monitoring on top of the basic security package. With this plan, you’ll be notified immediately of any alarm activity within the home—whether it’s a matter of security or an environmental threat.  You’ll also be reminded if you leave without arming your system, using the Frontpoint location-based Geo-Services.

An excellent offer that comes with this program is the light control feature. You can customize an on/off schedule or set lights to trigger automatically in reaction to a sensor alarm. There is also environmental protection to protect you against Carbon Monoxide (CO), extreme temperatures, or flooding. With the Interactive plan, you additionally get sensors and thermostats to guard against these calamities.

This Frontpoint package includes a 30-day money-back guarantee trial period, free text and email notifications, and the option to do self-installation.

However, Frontpoint does not sell the door locks,  or a thermostat, etc. The reason for this is that the Frontpoint home automation system is a self-setup, so it can be difficult for someone to install their own locks and thermostats so they operate correctly.

Another potential issue for many is that Frontpoint’s automation system is a self-setup system. While the system is generally simple to set up, there are some who may struggle with connecting it to their smart home devices.

    I received the components of the system and was able to fully install the complete system in 45 minutes without issue. System is very user friendly and easy to install with little more than a screw driver. We particularly like the carbon monoxide and flood warning sensors as the flood sensor has already saved us a huge bill for water damage.

    I am happy with most aspects of Frontpoint Security. Setup is easy, as is managing the system.

    The video capabilities however do leave room for improvement. The upload/storage fills up much too quickly…and dialing down the sensitivity doesn’t help. An ability to review and delete unnecessary recordings to free up space would be helpful.

    This is an excellent home security company. I have been a customer since 2013 and it started off great and has continued to exceed my expectations. We started off with the Interactive plan so we could arm and disarm with our iPhones. Its great that we can tell who armed the system, who disarmed, even create a geo-fence so when we leave the house without arming, it sends a reminder! We have since upgraded to the Ultimate for only $5 more and added cameras. Whats great about this company is the service. Any problems are answered within 2 minutes of calling with hardly ever any wait time. They will even help you install components (thermostat, locks, cameras, door sensors, etc) if you bought them off ebay or elsewhere! They also are based in USA so you don’t have a language barrier to battle with offshore support offered by other companies. We now have Glass Break sensors in all the bedrooms and main rooms of the house, a motion detector, fire/smoke detectors, door sensors, 6 cameras, and a door lock. And all these components were bought over time, no need to purchase all at once, just buy when you have extra money to invest in your families security. Overall, this company has proved themselves in service and the products are there to back up their original claim of straightforward solutions and reliable home protection, Frontpoint Security.

    Frontpoint has been a very wise choice for our home security needs, and since my husband’s job requires frequent moving the ease of taking down the system and moving it to a new location has been huge. We have upgraded our system with addition z-wave items (door locks, light switches, and thermostats) and even though we bought the items on Amazon, the company has been very helpful in the pairing of those units to the system, and ensuring they are ‘talking’ to each other appropriately. We have been very pleased with our investment, and plan to remain Frontpoint customers for the foreseeable future!

    I am absolutely impressed with this system. Very easy install and the:customer service person walked me through activation making sure everything worked correctly. The IQ control panel is way cool, looks like digital picture frame. Everyone I spoke with displayed competence and knowledge. I have already recommended this system to several friends.     Generally speaking I’ve had a very positive experience with this company. I’ve owned the system for about a year now, with no equipment issues or anything (well, the adhesive on the motion sensors wasn’t strong enough to hold them on the wall, but I just bought some strips from Lowe’s and now I have no issues with them).

    The only false alarms I’ve had were self-induced (usually from forgetting that I set the alarm and entering from a door that wasn’t near the control panel…). For a couple of them I was able to cancel the alarm; for one I didn’t disarm the panel before the alarm went to the company and I received a call about it promptly.

    I’ve always been asked for my security code when I call, even when calling from a “registered phone number” (which is the number I *always* call from). The phone app has worked with zero issues as well. I do wish the equipment wasn’t so expensive, but I did get a significant discount when I bought it (only paid $150 for the system, which included to motion sensors, 6 door sensors, a smoke detector, the control panel, and all the signage – plus the 3-yr contract that everyone has to pay for anyway). I did later buy a couple extra door sensors, and a touch screen panel for the basement door (because I got tired of accidentally setting off my own alarm!).

    My biggest complaint is billing, and the inability to change your billing method online. I’m active duty military and currently deployed, and changing my billing credit card is kind of a nightmare when I have to call to make the change. Hopefully they can do it online for me before my bill is due in a few days… It seems extremely strange to me that a company based on technology doesn’t have online billing options of any kind… and no online “chat with a representative” option, so you have to hope they email you back promptly or else hope you have the ability to call them.

I feel that the sales person was informative and trying to help me get the best package without selling me anything unnecessary to my home.     Fine technically, but an extremely dishonest company as per their 3-page extremely fine print contract, which I never saw when ordering the system to be installed at a tenant’s request…my electronic signature appears on the contract. That locks me into 3 years of monthly payments with no way to get out…evidently in addition to the tenant’s payments! Twice we processed system transfer paperwork, the last through FrontPoint’s office…but their contract allows them to choose to ignore it! The tenant took the system with her and is using it in another state…but I still get dunned for payments, which has reached over $900 and was handed to a collection agency. Despite their good security service, AVOID FRONTPOINT SECURITY!!

    I canceled my contract with them before 30 free days. Because we change our minds. So after 30 day I cancel it. I checked my bank account and we get charged with 42.99 dlrs. I called them right away. They told me. They see I cancel and returned the equipment. And I get my money back after 2 days. So I wait 3 days and call them again. They said I can see your credit still sitting on the desk. The person answer said i promise to take care of it. I wait again 2 more days. Nothing happened. I called again this time Fernando Lopez answer the call. He said he doesn’t want happen with may claim but he is going to take care. He said give us 2 more days. Today is May 12th. The first time I call them was April 28. Right now I call them 4 times and I don’t have my money back to my account. I hope what happened to me help someone else.

    I HAVE BEEN WITH FRONTPOINT FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS, AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT I’M VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE AND CUST. SURPORT. I THINK A SELF CONTAINED SYSTEM IS BY FAR SAFER FOR SECURITY, SYSTEMS DEPENDANT ON LAND LINES AND THE INTERNET ARE DOOMED TO FAIL. OTHER SECURITY FIRMS ARE AWARE OF THIS AND NOW OFFERING THIER OWN SYSTEMS, CABLE, POWER AND PHONE LINES HAVE EXTERNAL ACCESS AND CAN BE SERVERED WHICH BLINDS ANY TECH. THAT DEPENDS ON THEM BEING AVAILABLE. FRONTPOINT MAY BE NEW TO THIS FIELD BUT IT’S BUSINESS MODEL WILL SUCEED, PLEASE STAY THE COURSE!

    I changed from another well-known security company whose customer service is horrible at best. Frontpoint reps are not only friendly but well-informed and patient.

    I did have to pay for some equipment but I didn’t mind after the EXTREME frustration I experienced with the other company. Love having the ability to set my system from my phone. Even without the ‘senior’ discount that was offer by the other company the monthly charge is less.

    I contracted with Frontpoint to install a security system for my summer house in the Pa. mountains last June. The equipment came very quickly and the installation was simple. Unfortunately the signal was not able to transmit wirelessly to the control center. I tried all 3 wireless companies: Verizon, ATT and T Mobile with no success. I called the company multiple times for help and assistance and each time I talked to a very helpful service representative. As the 30 day trial period was approaching, I decided to terminate the contract because we just couldn’t get the system to work. There are alternatives to the wireless system and next spring I will call Frontpoint and try again. When I terminated my contract, I returned the equipment and my credit card was immediately credited. This company has great customer service and I hopefully I can do business with them again. They really do what they say they will. Great Company!

    Let me start by saying I’m only one month into my contract. That being said installation was an absolute breez 11 window and door sensors two garage door sensors and two motion sensors all installed in just about 30 min. I also did a lot of research and my intuition continued to push me towards Frontpoint. Using the control panel is also very easy and the customer service rep made sure to walk me through each and every step. There are cheaper providers out there but they don’t seem to have the same standards.

    HORRIBLE!!! The salesman applied the discounts, got all the information needed to send us the equipment, and everything was “perfect” which he repeated ad nauseum. We signed the agreement and paid the equipment fee. We were suppose to get 15 sensors and motion detectors and received 6! Called back and said there was a mistake and after 45 minutes of typical, “Let me put you on hold and I’ll see what I can do.”, all they would do is send us the additional PAID FOR equipment for an additional $440. They got a 1 rating from me because they did refund all of my charges and sent a prepaid label to return the equipment shipped. NEVER AGAIN!

    I am very disappointed in the customer service provided by FrontPoint Security. Although the agents are very nice, and I understand that they are following a script, the FrontPoint Customer Service Philosophy could use some fine tuning. I have been a customer for 4 years, and with each call to customer service it’s blatantly obvious that FrontPoint Security is solely focused on making as much money as possible. A few months back, I called for a new yard sign because my sign was broken after a bad storm in our area, FrontPoint attempted to charge me for a new sign. Then, they attempted to convince me to extend my contract for 3 more years with the notation that my monthly bill could potentially increase if I didn’t renew my contract. I understand that, but a bill increase would only send me to another company. Where is the value in that? I kindly declined, as I had plans on selling the house. I called to stop my service on December 4th, due to the sale of my house, and the agent suggested that a 30 day notice is required to avoid them charging me for an additional month. Well I was already charged for the month of December on December 1st, which I will not need, but now I’m being charged for the Month of January because I was about 2 days short on a 30 day notice that was likely in the fine print of my contract when I signed up over 4 years ago. Prior to me being made aware of the expectation of additional charges for the months that will not be used, the agent attempted to get me to sign a 3 year contract for my new home contract, and offered me 6 months free. I kindly declined and let her know that I would certainly revisit this in 6 months once we are closer to finishing construction. On the basis that FrontPoint finds more value in ‘nickel and diming’ their loyal customers, I WOULD NEVER CONSIDER USING FRONTPOINT SERVICES IN THE FUTURE. Take your $42.99 that you will deduct from my account on January 1st, and I will keep the thousands of dollars that I would have spent on my monitoring service over the course of 15+ years once my new construction was complete. Customer Service and retention is such a joke these days. The Service provided does not match the true definition of Customer Service, and FrontPoint really puts its agents at a disadvantage when they require them to follow these ridiculous guidelines for getting that last penny out of the customer. I must say that the agents that I’ve dealt with are VERY pleasant, but obviously reading from a script. My experience in no way is to attack any of the agent’s characters, as I understand that they do have a job to do and guidelines to follow, but I do think that the company should really reevaluate their customer retention policies.

    I would gladly pay more money for the service, if the customer value was evident and there was no question about whether I am valued as a customer. This is across the board in ALL service industries.

    Please do not use out in the country service is not good.
    Also if you have any type of metal exteiror doors the sensors will not work. They will constantly show in they system as door is open. You can bypass that door to arm the system but that really is what i have not paid for.

    I have 3 months left on my contract and they still will not let me cancel they contract without paying the fee. I have not used this system for over 2 years and paid for it every month.

    A truly world class company, not just alarm company, a world class company. Easy set up, INCREDIBLE STAFF, I manage a luxury auto store, and I’m blown away about how great these folks are. I almost went through my cable company until I read the reviews and then read Front points, glad I read them. I’m not handy and I set this up with easy, I also love the customer aspect of it, no one oversells, they analyze what you need, and you buy, there is no selling. I’ve called a few times to add to it, and everyone is just terrific.
