Frontpoint’s Pricing

Frontpoint’s equipment and monitoring cost are competitive with other leading security companies. Frontpoint home security offers monitoring services in three packages from which customers may choose: protection monitoring, interactive monitoring, and ultimate monitoring. Frontpoint’s monthly cost ranges from $34.99-49.99. Frontpoint security systems are all 100% cellular monitoring services, with the higher-priced option offering additional add-ons like home automation for smart home devices and video surveillance monitoring. The mobile app is included in the Interactive and Ultimate plan only and you need a smartphone mobile device to have access.

Contracts are available for 36 months. There is a 30-day, risk-free trial. If you are unhappy with your alarm systems you may get your money back.

Mobile App and Upgraded Technology

Frontpoint also makes a diligent effort to constantly improve their technology. The Frontpoint app gives you remote access and lets you control your system from anywhere using your mobile phone or tablet. In addition to the mobile app, technology advances extend to Frontpoint’s control panels. Current customers have the opportunity to upgrade their existing Simon XT control panel to the Qolsys’ IQ Touch-Screen Control Panel. New customers now also have the option to purchase the Touch-Screen control panel as a way to upgrade and receive the latest home security technology. This control panel creates an interface that makes full-system functionality easier to navigate than ever. This control panel is compatible with all existing Frontpoint sensors and is designed to support the newest technological advancements made in sensors and monitoring. Some reviews mention that they didn’t understand all the terms of the contract before signing and that the contract is difficult to cancel (they have to pay 80% of the remaining contract balance). Home Automation Options

Frontpoint has a multitude of home automation options in its “Professional Package”. For $49.99/month customers receive the Frontpoint home automation and video monitoring on top of the basic security package. With this plan, you’ll be notified immediately of any alarm activity within the home—whether it’s a matter of security or an environmental threat.  You’ll also be reminded if you leave without arming your system, using the Frontpoint location-based Geo-Services.

An excellent offer that comes with this program is the light control feature. You can customize an on/off schedule or set lights to trigger automatically in reaction to a sensor alarm. There is also environmental protection to protect you against Carbon Monoxide (CO), extreme temperatures, or flooding. With the Interactive plan, you additionally get sensors and thermostats to guard against these calamities.

This Frontpoint package includes a 30-day money-back guarantee trial period, free text and email notifications, and the option to do self-installation.

However, Frontpoint does not sell the door locks,  or a thermostat, etc. The reason for this is that the Frontpoint home automation system is a self-setup, so it can be difficult for someone to install their own locks and thermostats so they operate correctly.

Another potential issue for many is that Frontpoint’s automation system is a self-setup system. While the system is generally simple to set up, there are some who may struggle with connecting it to their smart home devices.

    I love that you can add things at your convenience to this system. I plan on adding more items over time and like that you can change items and “move” the system with you when you change residences. Usually items arrive within two days, plus the customer service folks are very friendly when you need help with something via phone.

    You can activate/check the system remotely via your smartphone or the internet so I can tell when my husband leaves and turns on the system (or when he forgets) from work.

    We spent weeks researching the ups and downs of various security systems before calling FrontPoint. We were very impressed with our first contact –questions answered, details provided, guidance but no hard sell. We decided go with FP and have been very happy with the system. Nice integration between the monitoring devices, the home control panels, email alerts, “myFrontpoint” website, and the FP monitoring site. I love that our iPad becomes another control panel when we travel. Last weekend we were 3 hours from home when I received a call from FP that an entry sensor had sent an “open” alert. At my request FP contacted the local police who checked the home. No call back from FP is good news but, to be sure that everything was alright, I called FP and requested the phone number of the local police dispatcher. The dispatcher confirmed that the police had visited the house and reported no entry issues. Follow-up conversations with the police suggest they were at the house within 3 minutes of receiving the call from FP, checked all entries and found none open. The history log from our FP website identified the “opened” entry as a garage door. By reviewing the log, I can see we opened and closed that garage door at 8:10/8:11 am, turned on the security system at 8:26 am and left town. The garage door sensor reported “open” at 11:43 am and “closed” at 12:27 am. The police were on site during that time and confirm the garage door was not open, suggesting the sensor sent a false alert. I will be contacting FP about this. Meanwhile, it is nice to know the response to the alert went as it should have.

    I have been very pleased with Frontpoint for years. Recently one of our window sensors went bad and they replaced it for free. The only reason I didn’t give them a 10 was because it took several calls to get the sensor renamed to what it was previously. This should have been handled on the first call.

    We have had FrontPoint installed in my home for about 3 years now and I am very pleased with the service, quality, and performance. We chose to install the system ourselves and the process was very simple and the customer support during the process was helpful and patient. Set up was easy, the representatives as Frontpoint walked us through every step. We also have light modules, a water sensor, and a fire alarm. We trust the service and product; and have recommended them to many others. Our parents now also have Frontpoint. The fact that my mom is able to use the system easily, proves how user friendly and simple it is to use. I love the light schedule functions!

    The processor setting everything up was easy and convenient. They are top quality. My contact for setting up my contract was a pleasure to work with and very professional and responsive. The only reason I didn’t offer a perfect score is because when I called the after hours service center, there was a gentleman who was rude that I spoke to when I asked questions because my alarm was not arming and disarming properly from my phone.

    Installation was a snap. The equipment is top quality. I’ve talked to customer service a few times for a variety of things — they are pleasant, helpful, and incredibly accommodating every single time. You can reach them by phone, by e-mail, it doesn’t matter — they treat you as if they really value you as a customer.

    I have the interactive service, wherein I can use the web or my phone to figure out what’s going on at home. I gave FrontPoint a 9 instead of a 10 because doing things like checking door locks, turning on lights remotely, or using a camera is a more expensive level of monitoring. But I personally think there’s no reason that you should have to pay more for monitoring if you already have the interactive level of service! If they change that pricing detail, then I would give them a 10!

    The system itself works great; we have over 25 sensors and 2 cameras and have had only a couple complications in the 4 years we’ve had it (mostly my fault). Their customer service was on top of every issue I had. When I broke a door sensor, they over-nighted a replacement. Friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. I was just telling my wife the other night how great our system is…it’s one of those things you forget about because it just does its job day in and day out without issues.

    If you can do simple hands on things yourself, then FrontPoint offers a great solution. Awesome customer service, great resources, and good prices. Main benefit for me is the cell service as the primary means of security since we do not have a home phone.

    4 year user (soon to be past) We initially used Frontpoint at our offices and then I later added their service to my home. Years ago they were extremely prompt in their response to alarms however within the last 6 months very bad. A couple of months ago the alarm went off during the day (high crime period) it was upwards of 10+ minutes to get a verification call. I did at that point voice my concern. Last night at 3:26am the alarm was set for “no entry delay” it went off and NO CALL AT ALL. This is entirely unacceptable.

    Product is great but customer support is even better, which is what turned me from just a customer into a huge fan. I recommend frontpoint to anyone looking for a home security system. I read some reviews here and I am surprised at the negative reviews. I’m a fairly tough judge and their are few companies that have impressed me more (none of which were security related).

    It doesn’t work. I purchased the system and had to return it with in two weeks because my alarm went off several times a day every day. Every time it went off it was their fault. I spent 5 to 6 full days on the phone with their support team trying my best to get it to work. Front Point mislead me when I purchased the system, nothing they told me was true! Their product is 100 percent crap! How they got so many good reviews I have no idea. Their support team is very nice and they tried , but after two weeks into it, and at least one full week of my life wasted I had to give up and send it back. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Front point is a joke, they suck! I’m really upset about the time and energy I spent trying to use a system that doesn’t work.

    First I was Mislead about their motion sensors, Then my door and window sensors went off every day several times a day. It is totally unpredictable and they have no solutions although they did try it does’t matter the product is crap!!! It doesn’t work!!!!!

    I give them six stars. They have been outstanding. Had a call the other day. They were concerned the the unit cell did not have a high enough numbers….similar to bars on our cell phones. So, they are going to correct that. Only one example of many.

    I have FrontPoint at my weekend home and at my office for over four years and I have not had any problems and their products perform as advertised and their monitoring service does likewise. I am about to install a third system a different location. I did the two previous installs, took less than an hour, and simple to do. I highly recommend this company.

    Not Impressed with trying to talk to representative. Very hard sell and pushy, obviously works on commission. The representative would not stop talking, continued to try and get information, provided a bunch of information that I did not want to hear, just wanted to tell me how great they are.

    Once you lock in you get to keep equipment, but can’t use it since you don’t use them to monitor it. You loose you cell phone usage to check your system if you cancel their monitoring.

    Had to tell the lady 5 times, I wanted to get off phone and I would get back, she still would not stop talking and kept trying to push me to sign saying she did not understand why I did not want to sign now. I finally had to hang up on her to get off phone.
