Home Automation Options

Frontpoint has a multitude of home automation options in its "Professional Package". For $49.99/month customers receive the Frontpoint home automation and video monitoring on top of the basic security package. With this plan, you'll be notified immediately of any alarm activity within the home-whether it's a matter of security or an environmental threat.  You'll also be reminded if you leave without arming your system, using the Frontpoint location-based Geo-Services.

An excellent offer that comes with this program is the light control feature. You can customize an on/off schedule or set lights to trigger automatically in reaction to a sensor alarm. There is also environmental protection to protect you against Carbon Monoxide (CO), extreme temperatures, or flooding. With the Interactive plan, you additionally get sensors and thermostats to guard against these calamities.

This Frontpoint package includes a 30-day money-back guarantee trial period, free text and email notifications, and the option to do self-installation.

However, Frontpoint does not sell the door locks,  or a thermostat, etc. The reason for this is that the Frontpoint home automation system is a self-setup, so it can be difficult for someone to install their own locks and thermostats so they operate correctly.

Another potential issue for many is that Frontpoint's automation system is a self-setup system. While the system is generally simple to set up, there are some who may struggle with connecting it to their smart home devices.

I have one of the outdoor video cameras as well as door and glass breaker sensors. I have had the system over a year now. I am glad I have not had any intrusions because the wireless camera rarely, if ever, is connected. It is plugged in, connected to ethernet, the wireless network is working but the camera almost always registers as "not connected". I have run through all of the troubleshooting techniques on line and I still have no operating camera. If my experience is typical, I would advise not investing in the camera. On the positive side, the indoor sensors were easy to install.

The only thing I don't like is signing myself into a contract. We were thinking about selling our house and moving into a home with another alarm system that has been paid for the year. In order to break contract it would be in the $800 range. I think that's outrageous. I could deal with a one year contract. But 3 is crazy.

Great product however would be amazing they could include an auto on/auto off option meaning if we forget to turn on the alarm at night or if your 20 something child comes in after a late night and turns off the alarm to enter the house at 2am but ALWAYS forgets to turn back on. Another example is when the alarm is on and that same 20 something child wakes up to go to the 6a hot yoga class and forgets to turn off the alarm but when she leaves out and closes the door is none the wiser that in 30 seconds from her opening the door the rest of the house gets to hear the alarm go off. I'm certain I am not the only customer that wishes there was the option included on the app notiications. A FrontPoint competitor that I left to come to FP has this option and it is amazing. Give me a sense of comfort knowing if someone forgets to turn on or off the system setting will keep us safe.

I love Front Point!! It was so easy to get signed up and was a really great value. Also very easy to set up. I needed a company that could do this through cell service because I don't have a land line or feel that is a very secure way either. They always answer the calls quickly and are so friendly and helpful. My only regret is that I didn't sign up sooner...before I got robbed!!

My alarm went off while I was at work and they were unable to contact me because my employer blocks cell phone signals, and I work in a busy ER. They did contact the police who were sent in a good time amount. No emergency, turned out a sensor had fallen off the window. But, it did it's job and they did theirs. Fortunately it was not a real emergency, but if it had been, I feel safer knowing the response is very fast!

It's a waste of money, and it's a long contract. I bought this out of impulse the day after my house got broken into. It's not really a piece of mind, because when it does go off, it takes the cops 30 minutes - 1 hour to get to the house, by the time they arrive, the robbers are already long gone. It's just not worth paying almost 50 bucks a month for. If you feel like you NEED an alarm, I would suggest only getting one if your town has an actual police department, even then, you would want to know how well the response time is prior to purchasing. For example, I am in riverside county, and we fall under riverside sheriffs, so if a house alarm goes off, they don't care unless they know FOR SURE some ones life is at risk, otherwise, they will just show up within 30 min. The last time it went off accidently, and I wasn't aware, the cops came 45 minutes after the alarm went off. You could also purchase a system (that you don't pay for monthly) that has cameras, or just a camera security system. It would be a much wiser investment, less expensive, and it also intimidates the intruder. No one is going to break into your house if you have four cameras in your front yard?!

Since our burglary in our house every time that i worked a graveyard or going out of town i was worry about the security of my family. Im a cheap person believe me i google every single review and webpage over the internet to be able to get this alarm, what i like from this alarm its that NO ONE can coming into your house to install it, that was my priority number one, second affordable, third wireless. Got my system in the mail, got it all setup and that's it. We feel much safer and protected. They just need to included one or tow more sensors in the basic one same price and would be perfect.

The equipment is "state of the art". It is not necessary to have a land line or active internet connection as many other companies require. This helps a lot for vacation homes. It connects via cellular. Very easy to set up and the customer service is prompt especially compared to a large national security company who put you on hold for 20 minutes or more. Monthly monitoring is competitive and equipment cost is very reasonable.

I had a problem with the battery and called. Imediately, they walked me thru the test process and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. A new battery was sent and solved the issue. All was FOC.

This system has been a complete nightmare for me, I can not imagine the hours I have wasted trying to get it to work correctly and it still does not work correctly. The started with sending the wrong base station, the sensors always go off by mistake or do not read and send pending alarms or no alarms at all. I can't believe I spend $42.99 a month for it, its good for them that you have to pay for the equipment up front or I would not have kept the system. After the 3 years are up, I will probably get rid of it, after all, and I mean tons of hassles, they have never compensated me in any way for their constant mistakes and failures.

I have been a customer for 3.5 yrs, renewed my contract. I have recommended to several others (great referral program!) Their customer service is phenominal and their response to alarms is almost instantaneous! The mobile app. is great and allows you to monitor the house and activate/deactivate the alarm. The text and emails alerts are great, and you can set them up as needed. I did extensive research before choosing FrontPoint, and have not regretted it! I even found a special during my research, making it even more affordable.

Used to have another companies wired alarm system but switched due to cost and flexibility. The cellular system is top notch and they even check providers to see who has the strongest signal a your location (we live in the country and that was important to us). System is super easy to instal and adding components is as easy as making a phone call. Our system was able to be set up fast and easy and we even had certain sensors programmed to be no delay, no matter what we set the panel to. This is important as we have an out building that has a lot of tools and such. Response time is extremely fast, much faster than our old company. Service personnel are some of the friendliest folks you will deal with on customer service issues. My parents have a rental property that we did a complete rehab on and while working on it, 2 times it was broken into and our tools were stolen. After the second time, my dad asked which alarm company we use. He now has a system at that location until the home sells and then will relocate it to his regular residence. It's a huge peace of mind to get alerts whenever the system is armed or disarmed by a relator or others and we love being able to see when our kids get home or leave. The interactive monitoring is something we will never live without. Even if your panel is disarmed, you can monitor your sensors from your phone. We recommend Front Point to everyone we know that's shopping for an alarm system!

My system is in a museum, after 3 robberies within as many months I purchased a system from FrontPoint. Had it installed in minutes, a peel and stick installation with no wiring? it doesn't get any easier and works flawlessly, even keeps track of the time my employees arrive and leave, and reminds me by text if they forget to set the alarm.

After being a victim of a home burglary in 2010 I decided to get a security system and chose Frontpoint after reading many positive reviews on the internet. Two important things that made my choice easier were the fact that it included the cellular connection to the central operations center and z-wave automation capabilities. During this time I've had about two or three false alarms and frontpoint contacted me on all ocations and asked if they should call my local authorities which i declined. I really love the automation features. I currently have 9 devices (plug-in and fixed light control modules), 1 thermostat and 1 kwikset door lock, all controlled via my smartphone. Overall, FrontPoint is great. For sales, I highly recommend Jimmy Benjamin. We had a few issues initially with the system, but FrontPoint made everything right. My biggest complaint is although they use high quality GE equipment, the control panel looks so old and outdated in an age of flashy slick technology. Otherwise, we are happy with our purchase.

Front point is great. I have had them for a little over a year now. every time you have a problem you give them a call the customer service is great they solve everything. I really like the fact that you can buy more essential accessories for the system without having to actually buy them through the actual company you can buy them from some other party.had an issue with a thermostat Z Wave that was not purchased from from FrontPoint but the technical support rep was able to help me set it up to go to the alarm system without any troubles.I would highly recommend FrontPoint.

I love FrontPoint Security. I purchased this system while I was in Afghanistan and installed it when I returned on leave. I really like that I can monitor and access the system via my Iphone. I currently have the Christmas lights hooked up to the system and I can turn them on and off from anywhere. Great service. I tell everyone I meet that they should look at FrontPoint, especially if they dont want to have a hardline phone installed as this workes of cell.

Peace of mind is truly priceless. After having the system for just over a week I can tell you that I feel over protected if there is such a thing in home security. If I'm at work and my teenage son forgets to text me the hi I'm home message, no problem because I get the text from frontpoint that he opened front door, he disarmed the system, and another text that he did (or didn't) arm again. At night those noises outside used to keep me awake and worried. Know I know it is "outside" and no one has dared to open my door or window. No I can really sleep like a baby knowing that someone out there fron frontpoint is awake doing my old job. Great job frontpoint

I've had Front Point for about a year now the system is great and so is the customer service.Any questions that I have were taken care of right a way either by phone or email.I had Adt for 15 years I am glad I switched over. Their tech's did not know much and was constantly switched from one person to another.I also love the app for my android works great.

I'm super paranoid about security lack of security. Choosing FrontPoint was really the best choice. I was surprised that it was actually was as easy to install as they said it was. I love all the different options for your specific home needs. I especially love all the customizable notifications available that can be sent to your phone to alert you of practically anything. And every time I call for a question or to add something new on, their customer service is superb!

So easy a caveman could do it! Seriously. When our house was burglarized, I started shopping for a security system. FPS kept coming up as a the winner, not only for ease of use, but cost and quality. My entire system cost only $164 - shipped. I did have to wait a bit to get it - which is the only reason why I rated a 9 instead of 10. Their customer service IS the best!

Simple to setup and works great. The panel integrated with Z-Wave so not only do I have a secure home but now it is automated as well. Front door opens after dark... foyer light comes on. Perfect. Customer service is top notch. They worked with me to test devices that aren't compatible with their hardware and were very fair in their charges. After being bugged by the same salesman multiple times for other alarm systems, they stopped showing up since I have my frontpoint sign in the yard. It protects from more than just thieves! :)
