Home Automation Options

Frontpoint has a multitude of home automation options in its "Professional Package". For $49.99/month customers receive the Frontpoint home automation and video monitoring on top of the basic security package.

With this plan, you'll be notified immediately of any alarm activity within the home-whether it's a matter of security or an environmental threat.  You'll also be reminded if you leave without arming your system, using the Frontpoint location-based Geo-Services.

An excellent offer that comes with this program is the light control feature. You can customize an on/off schedule or set lights to trigger automatically in reaction to a sensor alarm. There is also environmental protection to protect you against Carbon Monoxide (CO), extreme temperatures, or flooding. With the Interactive plan, you additionally get sensors and thermostats to guard against these calamities.

This Frontpoint package includes a 30-day money-back guarantee trial period, free text and email notifications, and the option to do self-installation.

However, Frontpoint does not sell the door locks,  or a thermostat, etc. The reason for this is that the Frontpoint home automation system is a self-setup, so it can be difficult for someone to install their own locks and thermostats so they operate correctly.

Another potential issue for many is that Frontpoint's automation system is a self-setup system. While the system is generally simple to set up, there are some who may struggle with connecting it to their smart home devices.

It’s really easy to set up. We had Frontpoint in our previous home and occasionally we have some problems with the door monitors, especially the garage door monitors but other than the customer service has been great, they are pleasant and work quickly and leave me satisfied. Always good service.

I like the versatility and control that I have on our system. It has a variety of settings that I have control over. It is a good product and reliable. Their support is very fast. When I followed up to install the system, they were very responsive and helpful. Though I wish a representative called after 60 to 90 day just as a courtesy to make sure everything is fine.

The customer service answers questions whenever we have issues. We've got some issues with the door sensor right now that keeps triggering alarms. We haven't called in to report it yet. It's tough to get it replaced. I like how it analyzed all of the different door openings. We have six door entries into our home.

The only thing I've been disappointed with was when I got it, they said I could turn it on and off because I'm not good with the keypad and then I found out in about thirty days that I was going to be charged on my bill in addition which was a great charge instead of a tiny one for using the app. It seems to be doing the job.

They’ve been very helpful anytime there has been an accidental alarm trigger and the gentleman the assisted me was very informative and helped me make my decision on what I actually needed for my home. So far everything has worked flawlessly and I know if there was an issue, they would be there to assist me. I like knowing somebody is coming into my house and that I’ll be alerted.

Frontpoint Security is a terrible company. I have told them multiple times that I wanted to cancel our service before the free trial but they say that never happened. They now tell me I am locked into a 3-year contract and I owe them money. I have been on the phone with them multiple times and no such luck. Frontpoint needs to have better customer service who can cancel customer's contracts and not lock them in when they do not want their service.

They were very helpful and knowledgeable about their products and how things work and how to set things up. If I ever had an issue and called or something wasn't working, they were able to tell me why it wasn't working and how to fix it so the customer service is pretty great. I wish their monthly price was a little bit lower. I feel like if someone agrees to do a three year contract that they should come down in price a little for the amount of services I'm getting.

The reason I went with Frontpoint is because the customer service was rated so high. I have no idea WHO gave the ratings because I have NEVER been able to contact customer service unless I call every number possible and email every email I can find. Do NOT go with this company. I so wish I would have gone with ANYONE else.

Absolutely horrible. Had 1 indecent and 2 brake ins. A computer called me and put me on hold to validate that I was out of the country. Yes they called the police but never followed up with me. The camera system is GARBAGE I have 500 videos of a spider web and nothing of the brake ins. Customer care told me tuff luck.

I cancelled my contract with FrontPoint Security two days after signing it online - which I did against my better judgement. He sold me the most expensive plan, but I didn't even end up with the equipment that I needed. So, Darius, a customer retention agent at FrontPoint security agent called me and I told him I was at work and could not talk to him, he set up a day and time and told me what number he would be calling from. I waited for his call, and he never called me back. I called him, and e-mailed him, but I never heard back from him at all. I needed to get a return shipping label for the equipment that was sent to me. I finally called their customer service number and got a return shipping label. Now I just received another package in the mail from Front Point Security and when I called Customer Service, they denied sending anything, no apologies, no return label to ship it back . . . nothing. I'm so glad that I cancelled my contract with them, because I am NOT impressed with their customer service or follow through.

The hardware is easy to install, and the software is user friendly. The only thing I dislike is how it is advertised in Canada; however, we are still charged in US dollars. The monthly cost and contract is also too much/long.
