Home Automation Options

Frontpoint has a multitude of home automation options in its "Professional Package". For $49.99/month customers receive the Frontpoint home automation and video monitoring on top of the basic security package. With this plan, you'll be notified immediately of any alarm activity within the home-whether it's a matter of security or an environmental threat.  You'll also be reminded if you leave without arming your system, using the Frontpoint location-based Geo-Services.

An excellent offer that comes with this program is the light control feature. You can customize an on/off schedule or set lights to trigger automatically in reaction to a sensor alarm. There is also environmental protection to protect you against Carbon Monoxide (CO), extreme temperatures, or flooding. With the Interactive plan, you additionally get sensors and thermostats to guard against these calamities.

This Frontpoint package includes a 30-day money-back guarantee trial period, free text and email notifications, and the option to do self-installation.

However, Frontpoint does not sell the door locks,  or a thermostat, etc. The reason for this is that the Frontpoint home automation system is a self-setup, so it can be difficult for someone to install their own locks and thermostats so they operate correctly.

Another potential issue for many is that Frontpoint's automation system is a self-setup system. While the system is generally simple to set up, there are some who may struggle with connecting it to their smart home devices.

Frontpoint makes me feel safer. They shipped pretty darn fast and it was really easy to install. Any problems I had, they took care of it. So far there is nothing wrong with the equipment, though are a couple of things that I want to add to make it work better.

Frontpoint Security is a terrible company. I have told them multiple times that I wanted to cancel our service before the free trial but they say that never happened. They now tell me I am locked into a 3-year contract and I owe them money. I have been on the phone with them multiple times and no such luck. Frontpoint needs to have better customer service who can cancel customer's contracts and not lock them in when they do not want their service.

They were very helpful and knowledgeable about their products and how things work and how to set things up. If I ever had an issue and called or something wasn't working, they were able to tell me why it wasn't working and how to fix it so the customer service is pretty great. I wish their monthly price was a little bit lower. I feel like if someone agrees to do a three year contract that they should come down in price a little for the amount of services I'm getting.

The reason I went with Frontpoint is because the customer service was rated so high. I have no idea WHO gave the ratings because I have NEVER been able to contact customer service unless I call every number possible and email every email I can find. Do NOT go with this company. I so wish I would have gone with ANYONE else.

Absolutely horrible. Had 1 indecent and 2 brake ins. A computer called me and put me on hold to validate that I was out of the country. Yes they called the police but never followed up with me. The camera system is GARBAGE I have 500 videos of a spider web and nothing of the brake ins. Customer care told me tuff luck.

I cancelled my contract with FrontPoint Security two days after signing it online - which I did against my better judgement. He sold me the most expensive plan, but I didn't even end up with the equipment that I needed. So, Darius, a customer retention agent at FrontPoint security agent called me and I told him I was at work and could not talk to him, he set up a day and time and told me what number he would be calling from. I waited for his call, and he never called me back. I called him, and e-mailed him, but I never heard back from him at all. I needed to get a return shipping label for the equipment that was sent to me. I finally called their customer service number and got a return shipping label. Now I just received another package in the mail from Front Point Security and when I called Customer Service, they denied sending anything, no apologies, no return label to ship it back . . . nothing. I'm so glad that I cancelled my contract with them, because I am NOT impressed with their customer service or follow through.

The hardware is easy to install, and the software is user friendly. The only thing I dislike is how it is advertised in Canada; however, we are still charged in US dollars. The monthly cost and contract is also too much/long.

I cannot express this enough - DO NOT SIGN UP WITH FRONTPOINT! I chose to use this company, and had no issues when it came to the monitoring of my alarm system on my home. However, that all changed when I needed to cancel my account years later. In June 2019, I gave them my 30 day written notice. I was told I'd get charged for July, which I understood, but then my account would be closed and I would no longer get charged. In August, I checked my credit card statement and saw my credit card was in fact charged. I then logged in on my account with them, and it was still open. I called to get this figured out, and I had to sit on hold for over an hour to talk to the right person to credit my credit card and close my account. I was reassured I would get my money back and would no longer receive charges on my credit card. Well that was another LIE. Here it is, September, and I received another charge on my credit card from them! I logged in on my account with them and it is still open! I just had to sit on hold for the correct department for 30 minutes again! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. If I wasn't checking my statements, I would keep getting these charges and would have no idea. They send no confirmation that your account is officially closed. You are just suppose to take their word for it, which obviously does NOTHING. When I called this month, I was once again "reassured" that my account will be closed and I wouldn't receive anymore charges. We will see though. At this point, I have sent in a notice to the BBB and I am reviewing them everywhere to warn others. If you enjoy being lied to and then sitting on hold to try and get your money back, etc. then go with FrontPoint. If not, choose another company!

I think they offer the best option for monitoring on the computer and also through the app on the phone. Very helpful when we have technical issues and actually follow through and follow up. The sensor has fallen off a few times and at times the signal is not strong.

Great customer service and affordable products. They have training videos on how to install it and it's easy. I had some difficulty getting technical help early on. Sometimes it requires 2 or 3 calls to get through. I'd like to be able to talk to someone immediately. Everything seems to be working fine now. It's nice to know that the house is protected.

Very satisfied with the alarm system. Easy to arm and disarm from your phone. The cameras are the only thing that don't work to well for me. I live on a corner street and I get a notification every 2 minutes. It uses up all my storage in a day and the cameras aren't as sharp as they could be.
