I did not use Guardian at all. This review is about their aggressive behavior to establish meetings with clients. I tried to cancel a meeting with them and I was told the meeting was necessary before my home could be built, which was not true. They said they needed to establish "standards". My builder said he contacted them to say the meeting was not necessary and would be cancelled. On the day of the "cancelled" meeting I was contacted again by Guardian asking for confirmation for the meeting. They were saying that if I still wanted to cancel, a meeting was still necessary to establish standards before a deadline with the builder was reached. I felt like they were trying to force me into using them. It was super aggressive and I was immediately turned off from them.Read More

I haven't had too much of a reason to use customer service yet, but they've been nothing but helpful. The sensors are pretty low profile, and it's easy to use. But, make sure you know how much you're paying a month for your services, I was told one thing and got something else.Read More

The Good

  • Special Pricing for besthomesecuritycompanys.com Visitors
  • Superior Home Security Features
  • Cellular Monitoring
  • Home Automation Options Available
  • Guaranteed Rate-Fix with 60-Month Contract

Guardian Protection provides home security systems that easily compete with some of the top security companies in the industry. The alarm company offers three separate home security packages with 24/7 professional monitoring to fit a variety of budgets and homes.

  1. Edge Essential – Includes a central touchscreen control keypad in-home monitoring station, window/door sensors, and motion sensors.
  2. Edge Control – Includes all features of the Essential package plus the customers choice of one home automation device.
  3. Edge Premium – The most complete home security system with home automation. Includes all features of the other packages, the choice of one home automation device, plus two indoor Wi-Fi security cameras with night vision.

Unlike some companies, Guardian Protection also offers a number of home automation features, branded as Guardian Edge. They allow users to control their security system remotely and prevent false alarms. Home automation comes standard on all but Guardian Protection’s most basic service and gives customers the freedom to control security features, climate control, and light fixtures all from Guardian Protection’s useful mobile app.

Consumers may choose from smart door locks, thermostats, light modules, or garage door switches for home automation.

In addition to the landline monitoring services found in most home security systems, Guardian Protection also provides backup cellular monitoring services in the event that your electricity goes out. Guardian Protection also employs Smash-and-Crash technology to ensure homes remain protected even when the system is tampered with or destroyed. The GE Simon XT control panel can let homeowners know whether window sensors or door sensors were activated and when. A customer will also have the option of Guardian’s two-way voice feature, a hands-free emergency calling feature that lets you speak directly to a Guardian monitoring center operator from anywhere in the room when an alarm is triggered.

Guardian Protection provides a “Family of Guarantees”. With the Best Price Guarantee, Guardian Protection Services will “match any comparable written quote or qualified internet offer for installation and activation of a base home security system.” The theft protection guarantee states the company will give you up to $500 toward your insurance deductible if your home is burglarized while being monitored by their system. Charging customers a fixed rate for such a long time is also something that sets Guardian Protection apart. Additionally, Guardian does have a fairly unique feature in its cancellation policy that allows customers to keep their home security equipment even after they have canceled their contract.

Every home security system sold by Guardian Protection Services is custom-designed and professionally installed. Guardian Protection offers a wide variety of equipment so you can tailor your system to include a sensor and control for your garage door or video surveillance in your backyard.

Guardian Protection also offers special pricing for besthomesecuritycompanys.com visitors. To receive this special offer, visit the Guardian Protection website through one of the links featured on this page.

The Bad

  • More Expensive System
  • Unknown Cancellation Policy
  • Poor Online Transparency
  • Limited Availability

Guardian Protection boasts high-end, cutting-edge technology and equipment, including motion detectors, window sensors, video surveillance, smoke detectors, and the aforementioned control panel that allows for two-way communication. However, customers may find themselves paying a bit more for Guardian Protection’s equipment and protection plan than they would with other industry leaders. Repair fees outside of Guardian Protection Service’s extensive warranty can also be quite costly.

There appears to be some confusion with regard to specifics surrounding Guardian Protection’s advertised contract lengths and cancellation policy. This confusion is due in large part to Guardian Protection’s poor online transparency as well as its method of contract delivery. The Guardian Protection website proffers little useful contract information regarding policies, terms and conditions, and exclusions. Customers are largely at the mercy of the terms of the actual contract, which is delivered in an electronic format. Several customers have complained that these contracts are not only difficult to read but can also sometimes be inaccurate.

Guardian Protection is not a nationwide home security, burglar alarm provider, and the following 16 states are the only that they service: Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.. While Guardian Protection still manages to service most of the country, other top home security companies have true nationwide threat protection.

The Bottom Line

Guardian Protection is a top performer in the home security industry. The company employs the latest technology with its high-end equipment and provides flexible pricing options that fit most budgets. Guardian Protection also provides some unique features, such as a fixed-rate 60-month contract that set it apart from the competition; however, customers should also be aware that Guardian Protection does not service every state, and unless they read the fine print of the contract they could be paying more than they expected for Guardian Protection services.

I was told this is a good alarm system, and it could be, but unfortunately since weve had this system we have had many problems. The system was purchased in March 2017 and we have been dissatisfied every since then. It’s been something every week.. it takes several days before they can send a technician out, so pray nothing happens until then…also the only way to get out of contract is to pay 1000….that’s unbelievable when it’s not even working….we’ve had the system for one month and want OUT!!!!

I was using ADT for my small business and had no problems. I moved my business to a new, nearby location and the salesperson who got me hooked up with ADT strongly recommended that I go with Guardian. So I made the switch because I foolishly trusted him, and was never told about the cancellation policy. 18 months later, I had to close my business due to circumstances outside of my control. Guardian will not let me out of my contract and is charging me for 18 MONTHS of service that I will not be using!!! I can’t find the salesperson who got me into this mess, either. Don’t get involved with this company. I wish I had never switched from ADT. They were great to work with.

I gave a rating of 9 because I doubt any company is 100% perfect. I just read other reviews here and suspect some were written by competing companies trying to make Guardian look bad. Plus, there are some general misunderstandings. Firstly, Guardian does not sell anyone anything. They are the monitoring company and sales are done by various dealers who handle sales, installation, and service. Some of these companies may be more honest and reliable than some others. Besides that, all of these dealers have subdealers who just do sales and not every salesperson is honest. I can tell you that Guardian has strict rules for these dealers and only when everything passes their requirements is a customer agreement accepted. Every agreement has it plainly stated whether it’s a 36 month or 60 month agreement and this is verified and initialed by the customer. You may call me biased but I’ve worked for a number of security companies and Guardian does it right. I do both sales and installations for Skyline Security which is a dealer for Guardian and I can tell you that when a system has a problem, I am required to make it right. Oh, and I see something above about Guardian not covering Washington state. Baloney. I don’t know about some other states listed but Guardian has many hundreds of happy customers in WA. Who runs this website? ADT or Monitronics?? Maybe some of the info is just very old but the false negatives are really appalling. A few complaints may be legitimate but I think most are fabricated.

Was told when they installed my system I could call and cancel whenever I wanted as long as I gave a ahead of time notice. Turns out that was bull. Called to cancel and they said I would have to pay 3000 to cancel. I had my whole family here [7] people when I had it installed and everyone heard the same thing as I. As soon as I have this thing paid for it will be canceled

We started out with Monitronics and had no problems. But then these “guys” come calling and saying they are taking over Monitronics accounts. I wish I had been home alone, they would have never got through the door, however, my husband did and he was the one who agreed to the change. Terrible service, alarms going off for no reason, had to come out to replace smoke alarm three times. Everytime we set alarm when we left the house, we got a call from them saying …there was this code or that code. Now we are moving and stuck w/stupid contract for 2 more years. Monitronics was so much better. Bad mistake.

Worst people that I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to do business with. Pushy sales people, rude customer service, hidden fees that nickel and dime you as much as possible, and terrible technical support/website. I was happy with my ADT but a pushy sales man promised me things that they will never deliver on. If you can never do business with this company, use someone that actually cares about their customers. (I still have parts that they have failed to connect properly.)

I had a bad experience with Guardian Protection as well, and true to form they installed a security system in my home as well which did not do what was expected and when they were called out to correct the problem I was also charged a fee. This system was not in my home 24 hours, and when they could not fix the problem i requested a refund. And I was told by them that I purchased the system and they refused to return my money. I had to have the system removed and I was charged another fee to have someone reputable to come out installed a system that would work and provided for me and my family the protection i needed and could not get from Guardian Protection. Nathan D.,

I have been a customer at Guardian Protection Services since 2003 (14 years) and everything was going okay. But then I upgraded with the camera (1). I spoke with them over the phone and was told this would extend my contract for 1 year, I was okay with that considering the fact that I had been with them for 14 years (I had no intentions of leaving). My monthly fee was also going to increase from $35 to $45, which was explained and okay. Once they came out and installed the camera it was not working properly. (Not picking up any humans just car lights only) so we reset it numerous times as instructed but it still did not work. We called for them to come out, they came out but the camera still never worked. So I called to have them return the camera because it does not work properly and was told, that was impossible and I owe them $350 for the camera and $195 for the repair call for a total of $545 plus the $45 monthly fee we pay for a camera that does not work. I then call to cancel the contract and was told I was under a 3 year contract (when initially I was told 1 year) and it would be over $2000 to cancel. I explained I’ve been a loyal customer for 14 years but that didn’t really matter to them.
Nathan D is their liaison for complaints and he really does not try to help. He gave the $195 credit for the service call (which I should have never been charged) but would not take back the camera that has never worked and is still charging me $350 and monthly fee for the camera monitoring service which doesn’t work. But he said they will come out again for a fee.

I had services elsewhere (one of the top home security company’s). They were good, but Guardian blew them out of the water. I called because I got an offer for a lower rate from another company. I was placed in touch with a woman who not only beat the offer that was made, she made me feel as though I was the most important customer.
it just amazes me the amount of focus they have for their loyal customers. I would never leave.

I have been with Guardian for more than six years now and have never had a malfunction with the system. I believe they have increased their offerings since I became a customer and now offer camera systems and remote control over locks, etc that were not available when I hired them, but I have always found them helpful and give them high marks.

Please read until the end and consider all of these things prior to signing up for service.

Where to begin. I wish I had read the reviews here prior to signing with this company. My home was pre-wired for Guardian by my builder and a very suave salesman came to my house to sign me up for services. It all seemed reasonable and great until I installed new front/back doors into my home. The sensors no longer worked and the company wanted to charge a $100 service fee for the first hour and then an additional charge for each consecutive hour. After being with the company for 3 years I found this to be harsh. Is no customer assistance covered or warranted? Must I have to pay for each technician visit when I had been loyal customer for 3 years? Wait…there is more…

I decided to end my services with the company due to making the decision to sell my home. This was the first instance of hearing about a 5 year contract. Since I have 2 years left on the contract and would pay $1167.00 during that period, they have offered me a DISCOUNTED buy-out rate of $863.00. They want me to pay an upfront fee of $863.00 to leave this “contract”. This is a company with eyes on the dollar signs. They would make a customer pay $863.00 for ZERO services rendered. This experience has taught me one thing. If I ever decide to have an alarm system again IT WILL NOT BE WITH GUARDIAN.

Dishonesty from beginning to end. Please don’t do business with this company. If you read all the fine print on the contract, it sounds like there is no way out, even after your 60 months are over. Here’s how we terminated our “agreement” or contract with them. First, ask your local Guardian office for help. They were kind, helpful and very reasonable. They told me to write a letter and send it to corporate spelling out that I want to terminate the contract, include your password in the letter. Before you send it, take a picture. Call corporate and pay out the remaining months on your contract. Listen to them pretend to not understand that you want to CANCEL the agreement. Then listen to them try to LIE and tell you have a year more on your contract than you really do. Then listen to them try to give you an inflated “buyout” amount for the contract. They will then try to LIE and say they are giving you a discount on the buyout, when they are actually simply honoring the terms in the contract you have in front of you that you had to repeatedly remind them of. Get your confirmation number for the buyout payment. Then, get the customer service person’s name, email address and send them that photo of the letter you mailed. Copy the person you talked to at your local guardian office for extra proof of intent to cancel. Then, don’t do business with any company in the future till you research their honesty and past customer complaints. As a final note, I read that thieves today know these alarm systems only give them 30 seconds to grab the one most valuable thing they can find and get out. So that’s what they do. So this service Guardian is rendered worthless anyway.

Extremely poor and UNETHICAL customer services. They make promises over the phone and never show up to fix the problem. After 2 frustrating years they will not cancel the service unless I pay full five year fees. Why would I want to pay for something that does not work,????? A very crooked company. This company employs the best thugs and thieves. They have figured out a way to steal your hard earned money. Bunch of low life thieves

Salesman did not explain system cancellation and fact that would have to pay large fee to cancel. He convinced elderly couple that it was best system however did not advise what would happen if they moved. Upon selling home and moving to villa that is already protected they were told that would have to continue paying monthly fees or pay a large fee one time. Guardian would not take into consideration the fact that their salesman took advantage of this elderly couple and did not offer any alternative to paying full fees. Do not use this company. All they want is to get the system installed in your home regardless of whether you can really afford it. And never mind the fact if you move and cannot take system you will still have to pay full amount of the 60 month contract

Beware: Guardian Protection Services will not terminate a contract for any reason. My father (clearly suffering from dementia when this system and service was sold to him) signed the contract for this service. He can no longer live in his home, despite this fact the company requires a payout to cancel the contract. The payout is the number of months left on the contract minus the cost of 6 months. The cost of the equipment and installation of the equipment was $640 (my father thought he had received the system for free) which seems pretty high for the quality of the equipment provided. That cost was in addition to the $40/month monitoring fee.

Hey Friends… So this is not my style.. but i fell it is only fair to warn people of what’s going on! @guardiansecurity has the most ridiculous policies I have ever heard! If you have signed a contract with them you have also signed that your contract will auto renew once you hit your term.

I sold my home in October 2016, I called Guardian to let them know it has been sold and that I will pay the remainder of my contract to keep the system up and running. My contract renewed in DECEMBER! The person on the other end of the line did not think this was important information for me to know. Therefore, it “auto renewed”. Now I am stuck paying $327.18 to buy out of the remainder of my contract.

After speaking to MULTIPLE people and being avoided for a week I finally had to settle with paying $100 even to get out of this contract and be able to “walk away”.

Here’s my problem. I am no longer a home owner… If i had moved to another home.. okay yes, you need to move your contract to that home blah blah blah… But they are making me hold true to a contract that is, in my opinion VOID because I have nowhere to have this service in which they provide! I am absolutely disgusted that I have to pay them ANY money at all but I am tired of fighting them!

Please just be warned!! Be sure to keep track of your contract date and the “Information you are responsible for” because there is NO negotiation or understanding from this company. Absolute and total crooks if you ask me!

First of all the customer service people are extremely rude. You call for assistance or help with the system and they treat you as if you are dumb.

In order to cancel or terminate you have to get in contact with a second company. There you learn you have more years on the contract than you realized. And now you have to pay the remainder of the contact in order to cancel.

The system does a check monthly. We recieved letters every month saying “a test signal from your security system was expected on (date) and was not received.” When you call to check it out it is suddenly fine and system is working. Then the screen goes black at times and they tell you. “Did you disconnect it and connect it again?” If they have to send a tech or someone to look at the system they charge you 25$ and if they stay pass 5 pm that’s an overtime charge. If your contract does not have the service charge then its 100+ for the first 30 minutes and then hourly.

The app on the phone does not work half the time. And if the alarm goes off for some reason or the fire alarm goes off and they call you to make sure its ok or just turn it off. They charge you a fee.

This is a terrible system and the worst choice i have made.

I had to cancel my service last may. My contract was not up unti november. They wanted the rest of the contract price. I understood only a 30 nogificstion was needed. So i waited and cancelled in November. I asked how to remove the keypad from the wall. I was told to just take it off, disconnect the wires, remove the batteries snd throw it away. I just got around to doing that and as soon as i disconnected it, my landline went dead. Their response? They will send out a technician at a cost of time and parts. So, they told me the incorrect way to do it and I i have to pay to have it done correctly? After i protested, she said call your phone provider, its my problem now.

DON’T USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE AWFUL.

I advise that you find another company for furniture insurance. This place took three weeks just to get me into their system. Then once I went through all the hoops and several call backs, they found a way to say that my claim was not valid and that were a small company. Being a small company is not the customer fault or problem. If you cannot handle customer’s claims, you should get out the business. It is not fair and it is not right.

Words cannot describe how disappointed I am in Guardian Security. At the beginning of 2016 you of guardian technicians came to my door and told me that my security system was out dated and needed to be replaced. I explained to the young men that I wasn’t interested because I would be putting my house up for sale in the summer and didn’t want to get caught up in a contract. They proceeded to tell me that everything would be ok and the company would work something out. I also had the opportunity to speak with a rep over the phone that told me the same thing. Still being hesitant, I asked what if I didn’t upgrade and was told that my current system may not work properly. I am a single mother of 2 so I decided to upgrade the system for the best interest of my 2 boys and myself.
After a month or so after having the system, things started to go wrong. The system would go off in the middle of the night or just beep every 2-3 min. My youngest son is special needs and is very sensitive to sound. This caused very stressful nights because of this problem. I called and reported the problem and was told that someone had to come out to look things over. A technician was sent out 2 times before this was taken care of. The problem lasted for 2 months and during those 2 months, I was forced to sleep away from home so assure my kids and myself had a good nights rest. I was given no sort of compensation for this situation. The only thing that was said was “I’m sorry and thank you for being so patient.”
As I told Guardian at the beginning of the year, I sold my home in September 2016. I called and informed Guardian that I sold the house and was told that I would have to transfer the service to a new home or have the new homeowners to take over the services. The new homeowners originally stated that they would take over, but changed their minds. I have relocated out of town and I’m in no need for a security system.
I have spoke with several representatives that have stated that the contract stands and I am responsible for the payoff amount. The last person I spoke with was Tim, the Director of the Collections Department. I understand we all have a job to do, but the dishonesty of a company tells me a lot. His answer was I’m sorry ma’am, but a contract is a contract. It amazes me that all phone calls are suppose to be recorded, but there is no record of the call when I was told I would not be responsible to pay off the contract, which is $941.96. I feel that I was deceived from day 1 and would never recommend this company to anyone; I would totally discourage it. This has been one of the worst experiences ever and it’s hard to believe that it was all to protect myself and my family. A person should be able to trust the company who stands for protecting your home. I don’t trust this company at all. I gave one star because I couldn’t not give any.

I had the system installed in 2014 and would have given them a 10 up to that point, as I had no problems. Then in 2016, I started having problems with the back motion detector. After telling me it wasn’t the battery, they came out and changed the battery and charged me $105. Then it malfunctioned again. They replaced the sensor and three weeks later it malfunctioned again. Today they decided to replace it once more. I don’t know if it’s faulty equipment or bad installation, but they’ve sent a tech out 4 times and the issue isn’t resolved yet. The system uses a Simon panel that is too simplistic in features and too complicated when trying to bypass a component. Today I called Guardian and told them not to auto-renew my contract. They simply said “OK”–never asked me why I was unhappy or if asked if there was anything they could do. They clearly were not interested in providing customer service or in keeping me as a customer.

Read the fine print and ask questions. I was under the assumption that I was going to pay $359 for three years…I even asked this is for three years and was told yes. My finanacial situation has changed and I went to terminate service. I was now told I had two more years on my contract. They could terminate service but I would still need to pay for the two years! What a rip off! The day I signed up, I had a houseful of inspectors and appraisers. That was nice timing on their part to sell me a service. It was never clarified that my yearly payment was $359 for each year and the contract was for three years. I don’t recommend this company.

So have been with Guardian Protection for 10+ years. Today attempts to reach their customer service were horrible. I can only assume they are having staff shortages. My first call to the monitoring service yielded a response that they did not know the answer to my question which was why was my monitor ringing every 10 seconds. They transferred me to customer service where I waited over 15 minutes before I finally hung up. I then repeated the process. This time I waited for 20 minutes before one of your agents answered. She was competent and helpful but 15 -20 minute waits at a security company are unacceptable.

I was shocked to find out there was a cancellation fee and auto renewal policy. after being with them for 12 years they still charged me an cancellation fee. Once I told them i was leaving i was offered a cheaper rate. why does one need to leave to get a cheaper rate not the type of people i do business with.

Our whole house system was installed in AZ in April 2016. On Wednesday, November 9, 2016 we returned from our Winter home to find the smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector in our bedroom “chirping.” After paying a handyman and having the Fire Department check our house it was suggested that it’s an ADT/Guardian, so we called for service. My husband about an hour on the phone, ADT has NO idea what the problem could be and wants my husband to use a screwdriver and disconnect a wire (not a good idea) BUT they will send a repairman this coming Friday, 6 days from now, to “take a look at things.” In the meantime we sleep in a bedroom with a “chirping” alarm. Interesting enough we had an ADT system in our Winter house, a system I had removed BECAUSE no one could figure out why the alarm in the family room kept chirping. THIS IS NOT A RELIABLE COMPANY; THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT. It is my opinion that they have broken contract with us – “reasonable repair time” – and I’m sure this is going to turn “legal.” DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. They are great on selling, not so great on servicing. At NO time has ADT called us to advise us of the problem. Apparently they aren’t aware that we have a problem. So much for a monitored system!

I don’t know if people realize that home break ins have changed or not. It used to be that they would break in and go through all your possible hiding spots to include your freezer. They would load everything up and be in and out within 5-10 minutes before your alarm system notice could get the cops to your home. So their system would occasionally result in a burglar getting caught. Today’s burglar has evolved just like your security system. When your home is broken into, they do a quick one, two and are gone with your most expensive item that each burglar can carry…as long as they’re out within 1 minute. That’s right people, 1 minute. And that means that your alarm has only gone off for 30 seconds and they’re gone. So what good does an alarm system do for you when the perps are in and out within 1 minute? That’s right, absolutely nothing but waste your money. Them contacting the police AFTER the deed has been done, in that way, ensures that you will never recoup your losses AND you are stuck in a contract for services that are no good because they’re obsolete. It’s better to have your own camera system put in that can store data for at least a week and that can be checked by you and send you notifications of any suspicious activity. Yes, you can do this on your own and it doesn’t cost much to buy or maintain AND there’s no 2-3 year contract to have to mess with them about when you move or when a loved one dies. Customer service for Guardian has been a nightmare for my family. They said they would return my father’s money and then turned around and said they could not. My experience with them hasn’t been good, but if you use them, don’t sign or agree to any contract and pay the higher price for a camera system if you don’t have someone who can help you manage your own.

BEWARE, they require a 60 month contractor. We got tricked into this. Our builder referred them as their preferred alarm company and said we get free alarm keypad, well the not so upfront was that this was a 5 year contract. We pay $43.25/mo for alarm and only have sensors on front door, back door, and in living room. No window sensors. This is insane. You probably can get a lot more security from another company, so don’t be dumb like us and not shop around.

This company is the biggest scam artist and they will rip you off every chance they get. We moved from our home and called to have the service discointinued so we thought. We continued to get charged and never noticed until I was looking closely at our banking statement and saw a charge from them, we had been moved out of that home for 2 years and they had been charging us the whole time. We over looked it and thought we should have paid more attention. So we called again and was told they could not cancel our account because we no longer knew what the password was it had been 2 years and tried to remember what that one was well they refused to cancel it so we called our bank and had them stop the automatic withdraw, now they continued to call us so I finally got pissed off and frustrated and told them all I wanted to do was cancel my account to a house I no longer lived in they finally broke down and gave me my password and then had to email them a request to cancel. Wtell it was Febuarary when I did the stop payment and August when I was finally able to cancel my account, Injist got a bill from them saying I owed hem 566 dollars, how he hell when my monthly payment was only 30 dollars a month. 30×7 does not equal 566 dollars. These people just are greedy greedy asses. Be careful they will rob you blind!!

We have had Guardian Protection for over 10 years. Their service has been excellent. Their phone reps in the Pittsburgh area are polite, fully informed and speak English! In 10 years we have never had an issue with the system that they did not promptly repair.
We recently called to upgrade from landline service to cell phone service so we can control the system from our cell phones. Because we are long time customers who pay on time, there was no upgrade fee.

One of the worst companies around to deal with when it comes to cancellation. We sold our home after 2 years and they still are hounding us to pay for another 3 years. They claim we still owe even though we informed them of the sale and our move to a different state within two months. They are thieves and money hungry crooks. They use their size and muscle to steal your hard earned income. Wish the attorney general would take them to task.

We’ve been with Guardian for a little over 4 years. They have always been prompt to call us in the event of an alarm, issues etc. Customer service has always been great with us, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
I would recommend them and have done. For those who have given bad ratings, read your contract. We paid up front for our equipment, so there are no contract issues for us.

Run far away from this company. Tried to cancel today, after having service for initially agteterd upon 3 yrs. Apparently i am 8 months too late to do so as they renewed my contract automatically for 60 months, per the buried language in the contract. If I ever scrape up enough money to pay them I AM Done! BEWARE OF GUARDIAN!

Guardian is great when it comes to selling the system. Unfortunately, they don’t tell you all the details of the contract and lock you in for three years without telling you. The customer service is also not forthcoming. They provided me with I contract they say I signed, but it was not my signature. I have sent messages to find out more about it, but they refuse to answer my questions and said it I extended our contract for 5 more years, they would drop the price by $5,00 per month. I want to cancel because of their dishonesty, but they are not willing to even return my messages and explain their position. They just ignore you and claim that they stand by the contract but still wont explain who signed the contract they sent.

Don’t do this. We have had the service for 17 years. Never had a offer to up date. Now we want cancel and was informed we have to pay off another 31 months. This is over a thousand dollars. They told me this was in the contract. Keep in mind that was 17 years ago. Talk about hard up.

Very disappointed with this company, after two years of service they sold our monitoring to another company without notifying us. We only found out because the account the payment was made from was changed. We called to notify Guardian and were told they couldn’t help us because we are no longer their customer. After several minutes of debate we finally received a number to call. The new monitoring company didn’t even have our phone numbers. How could they get a hold of us in an emergency? Shame on you Guardian for not notifying us prior.

I have Guardian and they are great. I sit here and read review about people who are complaining about things that they deal with everyday. I have never had an issue with monitoring and service has always come within days. People complain about early termination cost but don’t want to pay out of pocket for the equip up front. I read my agreement and knew I was getting free equipment in lue of the paying out of pocket. I read and understood after the warranty was over that there would be a co-pay for service. It’s called an extended warranty for a reason. People are cheap and bitter. I would refer people to Guardian as my experience has been great. I can’t speak for other companies as I have no had any. But Guardian was my first sysem in my first home. And I will keep them
