Guardian has the worst customer service and only cares about making money. We had a life threatening circumstance that forced us out of our home and we had to move in with relatives. Our relatives have a home security service so we couldn’t use guardian if we wanted to. They said because we were under contract they could only freeze our acct for 6 months or we had to pay $1200 to buy out the remaining time on contract. When the 6 months ended they called us harassing us and we explained nothing had changed we still were living with family because of severe illness and they have ADT. They are refusing to cancel service and saying we have to pay for remaining time on our contract even through they won’t be providing any services to us. They are insisting we have to pay them $1200 which we don’t have because of hospital bills. I will never use their service or recommend them to anyone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GUARDIAN!

Been with Guardian for 25 years they’re charging me $50 a month for essential service when I only get standard service. They also charge a fee for in-home service which was not on my contract years ago for no fee and I feel like they’ve been ripping me off. I was not notified on these fees and the company has not been transparent use caution!

Guardian is very aggressive about not cancelling coverage when a home is sold. They are unreasonable and illogical about continuation of service. They claim it is like buying a car, not insurance. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WHEN GUARDIAN

Guardian protection has been the worst experience ever! Literally everything they sold us has broken and no longer works! We payed hundreds of dollars for smart thermostats, door bell cameras, outdoor cameras, And An upgraded alarm monitor. And it all started less than a year into the 5 year contract! Starting with the thermostats, which quit working about 9 months into the 5 year contract. The doorbell camera hasn’t worked for at least a year now. The outside cameras are crap too! If they are even providing a picture, it’s so grainy at night there’s no point in even having them! They neglected to tell us that we had to report to the local police that we had an alarm system, so we got fined by them Too. They promised us Lifelock was free to us for 5 years and even put it in our contract. Yet, still to this date (3 years into the 5 year contract), we have yet to see Lifelock! What’s worse? The customer service! We have called them multiple times and are treated like total crap. They are rude as they can be and very “matter of fact”. I’ve asked for the manager many times. You’d think That would help, but when he got on the phone, he was even more rude! Every time we call about another one of their pieces of equipment breaking down, they tell us they’ll come out and look at it for $75, but if it needs replaced we have to pay for it. What about the warranty on this equipment that we payed hundreds of dollars on, and that’s required to have in order for the system to work? Well, they only have a 90 day warranty on their products! That’s right! You own it and it’s your problem now! That is literally what the manager told me! Well, as of last month, even the control monitor quit working and we no longer have any alarm system running. Yet we continue to have to pay $75 a month for the system. We are at a complete loss! All I can say is never, never, never go with Guardian!

If my alarm is activated they respond very quickly. But I have been a customer for 20 years and I asked if they could reduce my monthly payments but they refused. You are pricey compared to other companies.

I have been a customer for approximately 5 months and have had no issues with G. In fact when I forgot the alarm was set one day I had to race up the stairs to the main level to put in the code. A Guardian representative reached out to me to make sure I was okay. It made me feel I was being looked guarded :)

Horrible company. Buyer beware. They are very hidden with the length of their contract. Sales people are quick to get you to signup and not look at their 5 year locked in contract. Service really stinks. My doorbell camera has not worked for months.

Well my house was burglarized and we decided we needed an alarm system and we had a flyer for guardian so we called him. I've never had any problems when whenever my system send them alert I get in the immediate call and no problem. I like the equipment - I don't have wires all over my windows just the the sensors. same with my door my keypads right next to the front door.

We signed up for this service 18 months ago and have had nothing but problems every time we turned around. Two sensors constantly go of line and result in calls from the company several times a week and sometimes a couple times a day. We reported the issue the first week to our sales rep and since he was in the area, her offered to stop by and replace the problematic sensors. Little to our knowledge, he did not log the service call. We attempted to call the company on several occasions about the issue and were advised to change the batteries even though we mentioned we had just done that. My husband even changed the battery several times and it didn't work. On one particular occasion, one of our smoke detectors started beeping in the middle of the night and I accidentally set the fire alarm service off trying to figure out which one out of 9 needed a battery. As a result, they made one call to my husband (who was at the time out of town and asleep) before contacting our local fire department. Next thing you know, a firetruck is in front of my house. We called the company to try and find out why they didn't call me and were advised they only call one phone number. I found this interesting because most people no longer have landlines and the first phone number of contact isn’t necessarily at the residence. After a few more unhappy incidents, we just stopped using the alarm and continued to pay our bill. I called today to cancel and was advised we had a 5 year contact and a pretty hefty cancellation fee. Ok so we did not read the fine print and went with the “2 year contract” the sales rep advised we were signing for. I am willing to take accountability for this however Guardian was not willing to cut the fee in half and take accountability for their failure to live up to their service and part of the contract. The rep advised they would be more than happy to come out and fix the issue in an attempt to make things better. When we didn’t bite, he offered a smaller cancellation fee that was still a considerable amount. We reiterated our issues and attempts to work with them and were advised they didn’t have record of our all of the service calls and that they tried calling several phones prior to sending the fire department to our home. None of this added up to us so I asked to speak to the reps manager and was advised this was their final offer if he had to submit a request for a manager to call. Wow is all I could think other than it kind of feels like we are on a gameshow. How fun. Ultimately, i would never recommend this company as they have deceptive sales tactics, horrible customer service and crappy service. Ill be happy (not overly thrilled) to pay the cancellation fee to get out of this relationship.

Guardian uses predatory sales practices. I will echo the other reviewers in warning everyone: DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT! I simply wanted services moved from my girlfriends name to mine and they snuck in and had me sign a new 60 month contract without me noticing. Emailed me an online document to sign and told me it would take care of the transfer. Apparently I missed the tiny print where I extended the contract for another 60 months! Why would on a transfer would anyone want to extend the contract! I spoke to their customer service department about honoring the initial date of the contract and they refused. Now they want over $550 dollar for an early termination and would not budge on making an concessions. They already got 60 months out of me and now won't acknowledge they maliciously roped me into 14 more. I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB and speaking to a lawyer about what can be done. They should be ashamed of their one star review, but they absolutely do not change their practices because they prefer profit over customer service.

Honestly it was the house when we bought it and we just kept it and I’ve been very pleased. We’ve never had any issues with it and it always seems to work. They always help us out and we’re happy with everything, though if they could improve the wireless range that would be good.

So far I haven’t had any issues whatsoever with any of the equipment. When there is an alarm, I get a phone call asking me if I am okay or if there is any help I need. I like the fact they give me a call. Every time I call and have an issue with anything, it is always handled professionally and very promptly.

DO NOT BUY GUARDIAN. Have their system 5 months in new RYAN home and continuous problem with the overhead door opening and monitoring. For months Guardian claimed not their problem. Had door company out today and the problem is short in Guardian provided Linear control. Now I find there is only 90 day warranty and they and they are happy to schedule service at $110 first half hour and $45 after plus parts. DO NOT BUY Guardian. There are too many good options to get stuck in a long contract with a poor option.

We bought our house in 2017 and were told we just had to finish out the contract, now they are saying we signed a 60-month contract. If I did I was not told that! I would never sign a contract for 5 years. I have tried to would with them now they say they want $700.00 to cancel the contract! I would not ever recommend this company!!
