  • Positive Home8 Reviews

Low Monitoring Costs; No Contract

For just $19.99/month, you can use Home8 to professionally monitor your home 24/7. This includes unlimited recordings with your Home8 cameras.

This is a low monthly fee in the home security industry, and the best part is that there is no contract.

To compare, many home security companies require a 3-year contract - some even require a 5-year contract.

Inexpensive Equipment

The Home8's offers home security equipment (cameras, sensors, alarms, etc) for less than what their competitors charge.

A singular motion sensor sells for $14.99 - there aren't very many companies that can beat that price.

Similarly, Home8 sells an indoor camera for as low as $29.99. While you do have to purchase your equipment upfront with this company, it will be a lot less than other companies that don't offer equipment financing.

Positive Home8 Reviews

On other review sites, the reviews for Home8 are a mixed bag. Below is a summary of the positive things customers have to say about Home8:

  • Thorough and clear customer support
  • Easy to install (DIY)
  • Low cost
  • Intuitive mobile app

Cons

  • No Video Doorbell
  • Home8 Complaints

No Video Doorbell

Home8 offers 5 different types of security cameras (see below). However, they do not offer a video doorbell. This is a product that almost every home security company offers. Even though the company doesn't sell their own video doorbell, those who are interested should be able to purchase a different brand and integrate it with the Home8 app.

Home8 Complaints

  • Camera issues - video footage freezing in-app and connectivity issues
  • Customer service - rude reps, poor service, difficult to get ahold of
  • Alarm sound - siren is too quiet
  • Equipment Warranty - company only offers a 1-year warranty on alarm equipment

Our Recommendation

Because Home8 is such a new company, there are not many customer reviews at this time. For those interested in purchasing their equipment upfront, we recommend comparing it to other home security companies first. If you do end up purchasing from Home8, there is a 30-day refund window, but you must call the company to return the home security system. After you contact the company, you have 7 days to mail it back.
