  • Name Change: LiveWatch Security is now Brinks Home Security.
  • Equipment Costs: There are two different packages customers can choose from: Home Complete and Home Complete with Video. Customers can choose to buy the equipment up front which will cost $399 for Home Complete and $499 for Home Complete with Video. There is also the option to pay for equipment each month which will cost $11.08/month and $13.86/month respectively.
  • No Early Termination Fees: LiveWatch customers are free to cancel their service at any time with no early termination fees, although you may have to pay for your equipment. Many home security companies require their customers to pay the remaining balance of their contract, which sometimes adds up to hundreds of dollars.
  • Rate-Lock: Customers don’t have to worry about their monitoring costs rising since their ate-lock guarantee ensures monthly rates will not increase.
  • Trial: Potential customers can try the Brinks Home Security plan/equipment for 30 days. If unsatisfied, it can be returned for a full refund.
  • Install: Both professional and DIY installation is available through Brinks.
  • Our Recommendation: While customers can choose to pay for their equipment each month, the up-front costs are high and there is still a contract associated with service. For these reasons, we recommend Protect America or Frontpoint.

    I used to be a proponent of Livewatch but overall you're better off going for a more reputable brand. My livewatch has been nothing but a headache and they've actually cost me more money than they saved. I've had 2 random false alarm calls due to faulty sensors where it just sent the police to my house without being triggered. Thinking it was a break-in, I let the police check it out. Turns out the sensor just decide to call the police on its own. Bam, $115 fine which Livewatch says it's not responsible for. Right now I'm more scared about false alarms than actual burglaries. But seriously, you'll end up paying more for your system if you're in a state that charges for false alarms.Read More

    This company is amazing. From ordering to set up and tech support. They are always there to answer questions and resolve any issue I’ve ever had, mostly with learning how to set things up. By far a superior company. No contracts, ever and very reasonable monitoring fees. I had possible battery failure in my motion sensors and called them. The very next day I received new batteries from them at no charge….Their communication, once the alarm is triggered is top notch….I highly recommend LiveWatch!

    We researched several home security services and in the end we chose Live Watch. The sales representative was excellent and followed through on all issues. The installation tech was also excellent and easily talked us through the installation process. The system and technology are easy to use and is in no way intiminating. We are pleased that we found and went with LiveWatch. I recommend it highly. MKM

    Very informative and professional customer service. It was a pleasure doing business with genuine down to earth people on our own soil. I am elated to do business with a truly American company after all of the hours I’ve wasted speaking with customer representatives for other companies that I can barely understand. I am very pleased with the product so far and of course the secure feeling of knowing my family is protected while I am gone is worth it’s weight in gold.

    We had no problem setting up our own security cameras and monitors. Kimberly spend over two hour with us on the phone setting everything up on their end. I could watch the cameras on my IPad while we set it up. We have tried Simplysafe in the past, and no help at all. Three months later while we were on vacation and the warranty expired we found out we had no service due to low telephone cellular service.

    I have been with Live Watch for almost one year and my experience has been nothing but a positive one. Everything I needed for my system came a day earlier than expected. The installation was easy with Live Watch support! The best thing that i like, the customer service ROCKS!!!! They are the best ever.     II had a few Issues with my new IQ2 system. I contacted Brylie in Customer Support on the last call I made. She was very professional with me and in the reconfiguring of a troubled repeater. All my problems were solved in that one call. Brylie is also a very friendly person and a good listener. Her product knowledge is perfect. I could not ask for a better Customer Service Rep to assist me and to represent Livewatch . Thanks Brylie.

    The upfront cost were not that much and the install was super simple. What I didn’t like is the alarm has had two false alarms within a 90 day period. Customer Service is not that great but sounds like they are trying to improve. Some of the features are not great on the system where you can’t open a window and bypass it yourself if you want to leave it open at night or during the day. A few other glitches- they take your picture when you disarm so make sure the control panel is facing something you don’t want them to see.

    This is an AWESOME company. My wife and I first used them for a home she inherited in another state when one of her parents passed away. The home was going to be unoccupied, not in the best neighborhood, and hundreds of miles away. I stumbled upon SafeMart/Livewatch at that time and could not be happier. We had one incident in that house and the alarm went off and the police were dispatched.

    When the house was sold, we moved the unit to our house (in 2012) and have been using it ever since. The install is VERY easy (just stick on the sensors with the applied 3M “pads”), call Livewatch to program all of the sensors, and you’re done. We could not be happier. I have called both Livewatch and Safemart (Safemart sells the equipment and Livewatch is this monitoring company) and have not had one bad experience calling them. I acidentally set off the fire alarm and thought I had reset it quick enough (until I got a knock on the door from the fire department :( ). So, it works and they’re on top of things.

    Their tech support people are out in Kansas, which is a big plus as well. They’ve always been super friendly and easy to understand.

    Also, unlike other alarm companies, there are no huge upfront fees, no long term contracts, and after the first year, you can cancel at any time without penalty. Plus, unlike other alarm companies, they DO NOT automatically renew your contract for a year or two years like other alarm companies.

    I cannot say enough good things about this company.

    I have never seen this much professionalism from an alarm system company!! Firstly I’m truly made to feel like I’m part of a family. Then my kit arrives completely customized to me.     The best customer service and equipment. I shopped for roughly 2 weeks and I’m very happy I decided to go with LiveWatch. Right away, I was able to get someone to help me make the decision on which package to choose. Within a week, I received my equipment and had it installed and operational with the help of the customer service and technical team. Affordable, excellent service, no waiting time and simply works.

    From the start, Live Watch has offered a very affordable, easy to install product with superb customer service. All techs/ reps have been extremely knowledgeable, patient, and respectful. And I am very non technical!!! This company will go out of its way to resolve any concerns you may have. If I mess up on my pin number, or if they suspect a problem, they call to ensure I’m O.K. While no product and service is perfect, Live Watch surely has to be placed among the top ranking security companies in the U.S. Many thanks to the entire staff for being amazing at what you do! :)

    From start to Finnish customer service was awesome! Everyone I spoke with was attentive, knowledgeable and very helpful. I did not feel rushed at any point and they did not try to up-sell to much. I am very impressed with how this company does business.

    I was interested in their products & services until I signed up. I was at work with a few minutes to spare so I filled out your form to learn more about pricing, since then, I have received 2 emails, 3 phone calls (one every hour), a voicemail and text message. I regret giving them my phone number and have blocked them so that I stop getting calls. I’m no longer interested and have asked them to remove me from their mailing/call list.

    I was sold the Smart Thermostat (ADC-T2000) because I’m seasonal in Florida and wanted to be able to adjust the temperature according to the humidity reading. The thermostat is not accurate with its humidity reading as it is off by 6-9 degrees. I also had to get a new panel because it wouldn’t give me humidity reading on the app with the Simon XTi panel. Of course I was not told this and they didn’t know it when I bought the thermostat. LiveWatch doesn’t seem to know the products they sell very well.

    I purchased this system about 6 months ago. I opted to outright buy the equipment at a little over 400 dollars. They promised me a 100 dollar gift card as a promotion which I never got. Installation was easy but first thing one if the motion sensors never would sync up to the system. So they sent out a new one. Problem solved then a week later the pannel froze up and again had to send out a new pannel. After several complaints about bad equipment they gave me 2 free months. One night I got an email saying my back door sensor was offline so I called tech support to see what’s going on and its then I find out there is a 19.99 charge for calling after hours. Since then that particular sensor has went off line for 24 hours or more at least every 3 days. Now I’m finding out the reason is those sensors do not work on metal doors very well… they say that if anytime within one year of purchase you may return it for a full refund. Depending on what they do tomorrow I may find out if that is true. The only good thing about this system is that it does work. Once we forgot the dog in the house and she set off the alarm when she walked through the living room and they instantly picked up the alarm and gave me a call. So I do know it does work if you can keep your sensors working. Overall I would not recommend this system to anyone. Their equipment obviously is not very good.

    I researched companies and ended up choosing Livewatch Security. The installation is easy. You call, pay, pay for equipment. I think it was under $200.00, (you pay for equipment rather you pay it upfront or its buried in the monthly cost, like with Protection One & ADT). Livewatch will FedX the equipment to your home the following day, already provisioned (IQ2 panel and sensors) before you install it. You place sensors on doors and windows and you install the panel- 2 screws and you need to borrow a screw driver to screw the panel into the wall but super easy, you plug in the panel to the electrical outlet and bam, your set. The company sets up a call to go over the training of the unit and all the pertinent information the day the equipment arrives – Easy peasy.
    I had a small glitch on one of the sensors, it wasn’t working properly which we discovered during the set up process, the company sent out a new sensor and we installed it.
    Again, they are easy to work with. You can cancel within the first 12 months and get your equipment money back and so far no issues. The IQ2 panel is great- made by Qolsys. Its an all In One Security Panel with 7″ Display Touch Screen CDMA Cell Built I. You program it to add people with their own code and every time someone arms/disarms you get a text or you can turn off the information inbound. You have the app on your phone and you can click on to see the picture of the person arming /disarming or if you forget to arm before leaving you can turn it on from the phone. The panel has lots of features and it pairs well with the Amazon Echo. I had Protection One and ADT- neither one had this many options.

    Just replaced my main and 2 remote panels (Qolsys) because of issues with the remotes (which I purchased from a third party), not with the main panel. Anyway, support for ordering new panel and subsequent assistance with moving all existing data to new panel was simply perfect. Their staff knows what they’re doing, are helpful, polite, pleasant and everything I’m not used to getting. On top of that, they have a high-quality VOIP (or maybe it’s an old-fashioned POTS) system which is clear as a bell. Only had one alarm in 2+ years due to my error which showed that I can get fire department response in 3 minutes when I need it. Never had an issue with billing or anything else. Not only don’t you appear to give anything up for their low monitoring prices, but you have the flexibility to use your own sensors and other compatible hardware items. I am pretty savvy technically, so DIY is a plus for me and paying up front and owning the hardware is also advantageous.

    I’ve had Live Watch for several years. The salesperson was very helpful. When the system arrived, I tried putting it up, but I’m a septagenarian and it was quite difficult. It took hours, but eventually, between the very patient Live Watch support person, the less helpful AT&T support person, and me, we got it working. No problems for quite awhile. I can choose between the alarm going off instantly when someone enters while it’s set or the alarm going off after awhile. There’s a voice that warns it’s going to go off, and I like that. I have plenty of time to disarm it if I forgot to do so before entering. They’ve been very good about notifying me and everyone else when the alarm goes off, and I was particularly impressed this last Christmas break when it went off because my sister-in-law entered and we didn’t know she was the one who set it off, but we were close enough to investigate and asked them not to call the police until we’d confirmed it was a real alarm, and they cooperated quite nicely. I’ve seen complaints about the panel heating up, and they told me that the panels they were using had lithium ion batteries, which were causing the trouble. Even though mine hadn’t caused that problem yet, they sent me a replacement panel “just in case”. I have 4 cameras monitoring 3 rooms and the outside entrance. The outside camera has been a pain and we’ve not been able to get it working, even with my grandsons helping with the aid of the Live Watch support. Since all the cameras must be mounted high on walls by screwing them in, their installation was difficult for me, and I would have really liked to have been able to get a professional to do it, but my son and grandsons finally got the job done. There have been a few glitches, like when they sent a replacement camera, but it had a European plug rather than an American plug, but they fixed that. Also, one of the doors being monitored is actually in a different building from the wireless router. There was no problem at first, but when the sensor had to be replaced, the one they sent wouldn’t work, even after a very nice lady spent an hour with me trying to troubleshoot why. She sent another sensor, which also didn’t work, so that door hasn’t been protected for a year or more. Unfortunately, because of that, they won’t give me a certificate of monitoring so I can get a reduced insurance payment. I tried calling them over the Christmas break, and the wait was awful, but that was because they were getting so many new customers and were frantically trying to hire enough people to service them. All things considered, I really like this company. They have been very helpful and patient with this “old lady”, their system basically works well, and they’re not nearly as expensive as ADT, which we have at our other home. The particular home we have Live Watch with is a very unusual situation and, except for the back door and the outside camera, we’ve been very pleased with Live Watch.

    Don’t even inquire about the services! Just. Don’t. Do. It.

    I wanted a price list emailed so I put my email in to get that and it said we must have your phone number in order to provide this. BIG mistake. In the 2 days since I submitted my request for prices to be emailed I have been called literally 11 times. Most recently at 8:30pm. Also, I got 2 calls in a ROW yesterday. I have set my phone to auto ignore the calls now and I am so glad I did!

    I have had this in my home for 11 days and it has been a complete waste of time since the box arrived at my door. The installation was a joke, the sensors kept falling off the walls and doors. The motion sensor did not pick up motion in my living room. Trying to get tech support was a hassle. DO NOT WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME WITH LIVE WATCH!

    I signed up for Livewatch for my girlfriend in June of this year because she lives in another city. When I signed up I told them to put it in her name and address and send bill to my address. Instead they choose my name and tie it with her address so now that my girlfriend and I have broken up and no longer communicate they expect me to go get the equipment for them or make her put it in her name. I have spent two months trying to resolve this with no success. I guess they are to incompetent to send her a letter demanding the equipment back!

    False Alarm went off when I was at home, got the notifications and phone calls to confirm it was a false alarm. An hour later at 11pm, the cops came banging on the front door.

    1. The operator I spoke to couldn’t understand English well and couldn’t speak it well either and had me repeat my passphrase 3x.

    2. According to the log on my phone/account, all was clear.

    3. If this was truly an emergency, the cops coming an hour later would have been way too late.

    Contract says full refund in the first 365 days but try to get it. They promise they will email the return authorization, email never comes. Spent an hour on the phone with them and they made these promises but no response yet from them. The system did not work and I had constant sensor failures so 9 months after I installed the system I asked for my refund and I can’t get anywhere with them. So beware of this company.

    SERIOUSLY people if it’s to good to be true don’t take any chances we just got SCAMMED by a sales person named Clayton F. send us a system, we got the right equipment but he TOTALLY LIED about just needing a smart phone to monitor our cameras and such, when tried to activate the system they told us we need WIFI in the house to be able to work, what a SCAM he totally told us over and over again that all we need is a smart phone, I am furious not sure who I can contact to REPORT this SCAM to, so it won’t happen to anyone else

    I have a wireless LiveWatch security system and there is a glaring security flaw that annoys me everyday. The industry standard for decades has been to make a bold and persistent audible alert when an entry door has been opened when the system is armed so that the person remembers to quickly disarm it but this doesn’t happen with LiveWatch. You better not go get the groceries out of the trunk of your car because you’ll never hear the 10 second countdown before the alarm goes off. That’s right, you only get an audible countdown just 10 seconds before it alarms!

    I’ve tried repeatedly to talk to someone in authority about this issue but I’ve been completely ignored. Really, how much could it cost for them to get a programmer to address this security flaw. The real liability is that if you forget to lock your front door and a burglar opens it he won’t even know you have an alarm system so instead of running away he proceeds into your home and possibly into your bedroom……..

    I am in customer service and sales there for I am not one to leave a negative review as I know the true impact; yet here I am. There is a problem when you clearly tell a company what you would like from them and they repeatedly tell you that they can provide those services. In the case of livewatch they have a lot of problems. It is very simple and easy in business to just come out and admit when you do not have the services that your customer is asking for instead of trying to sell them on services they do not want. I personally spoke with multiple managers that work for this company and not one of them is able to provide the services they all spoke of. Apparently the largest growing county in the United States last year is not a metropolitan area in which they have any services within 75 miles. Do yourself, your friends, and your family a service and avoid doing business with them at all costs. There are too many other more reputable companies that can actually provide proper service. To think I left my house unprotected for an extended time to let them try and work out a solution. Yet I call a reputable company in I have a system installed within a couple days. I could go on and on why this company does not deserve an A+ rating but will leave it at this. When it comes down to it would you trust your families life or your own with a company that can not deliver on its promises??

    Salesperson was good. Reveived my first panel and the camera feature didn’t work. After taking apart the panel multiple times they figured out it was the daughter board.
    Sent my second panel. After hours On hold and on phone and taking apart panel it was discovered the daughter board was not functioning. They sent a 3rd. Spent hours on hold and on phone. I told them that the board was getting extremely hot. I actually burned my finger. I said listen I’ve done this 10 times already in the other panels and it never got hot. They said it was because it was processing a lot of information. ??? I didn’t like that answer. Then was told to let it cool down. Made another phone appointment. Took apart machine for a fifth time!!! Then they finally said board was fried and now im going to receive my 4th panel!! I was also told that me and everyone on list would get a call before they dispatched police. So I followed the persons directions on phone. I disarmed unit. Unplugged. And took out battery. Reveived a text that said we tried calling you and everyone on list but couldn’t get a hold of anyone so police were called. On the text it allows you to click false alarm. I did and someone else did. I asked rep of police were going to show she said no. Within minutes I had 4 police there!!! I was on phone with live watch when they showed and had to give my ID and explain what was happening. They offered me 1 free month. That doesn’t compensate my time and aggravation and a burned finger. Not happy.

    I bought a LiveWatch system in 2013 at a reasonable price and have had excellent service and support since then. Last month we purchased a second system at an excellent price, it arrived on time and the installation went perfect. We were up and running within 2 hours after unpacking the boxes. The sales and support teams were excellent.

    Sales person was great, everything after that sucked. Could never get a hold of anyone. Had to call in 5 times before they FINALLY cancelled my service and only sent me my money back 60 days later after threatening with terrible reviews and my lawyer

    This is not the company for you! We purchased Live Watch, it came a week later then we were told. I wanted the system installed before we moved into our new house, that didn’t happen.
    When we finally got the equipment some of the door sensors didn’t work. The glass breaks are big and attach to the walls with tape. We had several fall off the walls. They told us it would take a week to replace the equipment that didn’t work.
    My husband was on the phone with the tech trying to install the system and the sensors weren’t working, she kept saying I wouldn’t worry about it. Are you kidding me! It’s our security system!
    I told my husband I didn’t feel secure and I wanted to find a new company. The very next day he packed up the equipment and sent it back. They did not give us a full refund like they stated.
    I would not recommend this company.
    Fortunately we found a company that came out the next day and installed a security system that makes me feel safe.

    HORRIBLE! We live in Canada and all we did is inquire about their services, since it is based in the States we did not choose them as they are not local. Now all we get is numerous calls a day EVERY DAY! They don’t even leave a professional message, just all these calls numerous times daily. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED STOP CALLING!

    I was generally happy with the system when first purchased. The equipment was easy to use, and the panel let me know when a door opened or closed, which was great with a five-year old in the house, however, I lacked any kind of real measure for the system. I have had the system for about six months. Customer service was always friendly when equipment malfunctioned, and replacements were delivered with little delay. Hurricane Harvey forced us to leave our house last week, thankfully we were fortunate to escape the tragic flooding that hit most of Houston. We turned on the alarm when we left, but our area soon lost power. Without power in the house, the alarm failed to stay on/ active. The flooding sensor i purchased with my system was completely useless. Power was restored a few days later, and the alarm stayed locked/ inactive and nonresponsive. I called customer service from Dallas, and i was notified that I would have to be in front of the panel to unlock it and turn the alarm back on. Looting was active in my area, and the very protection I was told my family would have with the alarm was not available. Bottom line, when we needed the alarm most, it was a complete and epic failure.

    Sales and delivery worked as promised. However, installation has been a total nightmare. The time, I spent 3 hours on the phone with tech support trying to set up the system. Finally it was decided that 3 of 4 door sensors were bad and replacements were supposed to come 2day FedEx. The 2 motion sensors only worked intermittently. I went through entire testing and evaluation process of each sensor: taking them apart and resetting them, moving them up and down, opening and closing doors. My ceilings are 10 feet with tall doors as well, so I’m climbing up and down each time at each location. I was even instructed to take the control panel apart and reset. After 3 hours the tech told me he would move my case up to a higher level and would get a call back. The replacement door sensors came by US postal service instead of FedEx, so I did not check, not that it really mattered. Tech support did call back but I was not in the house so I couldn’t continue to troubleshoot. This is in my second home. I drove back to my other home in another state, and brought the equipment with me. I tried setting it up there, and again, testing only the motion sensors. After an hour with tech support, I ran out of time. I requested a new panel and motion sensors, but support we had to run more tests. I called the next day but they were so busy, I requested a call back, which they did, but by then I had to go to work. I’m trying again today, but must wait for a call back. I did call up to complain and to return the unit stating that I’m not returning the 2nd home for 2 months. Tech support gave me 3 months of free monitoring service, confirmed by email. However, I still have a system that’s not working. It’s a really nice system, but it doesn’t seem to work. I’m giving it 1 more try. Maybe there are quality control issues with their equipment
