Nationwide Security

4.8

star star star_half star_border star_border

Nationwide is an ADT dealer out of Littleton, CO, and therefore offers many of the same packages that other ADT affiliate companies provide.

Utilizing mostly Honeywell equipment, Nationwide offers both cellular and phone-line based systems that run from $99 to $499 upfront and $27.99 to $59.99/month for monitoring fees. All packages include a 36-month contract and a 90-day manufacturer warranty.

If a customer purchases a package that is at least $34/month then maintenance on any malfunctioning equipment is free. The main differences between the cheaper and more expensive packages are the need for a phone-line, the ability to remotely control the system from a smartphone, and video surveillance. All packages include the following:

  • Control panel
  • Siren
  • Battery backup
  • 3 door contacts
  • 1 motion sensor
  • Fire alarm
  • Carbon monoxide detector
  • Sign & stickers
  • 24/hour monitoring

Pros

  • Professional Installation Experts
  • Unique Offers
  • Partnerships with ADT

Professional Installation Experts

All of Nationwide Security's sales, installation, and services are provided by in-house employees and not by subcontractors, plus all of their employees are required to past professional background checks.

Unique Offers

Nationwide also claims to be the only ADT dealer in Colorado that offers residential and commercial sales and promotional offers, ADT Pulse (smartphone compatibility), and ADT Companion Service.

Partnership with ADT

An added benefit to contracting with Nationwide is receiving all the benefits of working with ADT.

For example, ADT is America's number one security company, has been in business since 1874, is larger than the next 99 competitors combined, has 6 redundant monitoring centers all inter-connected, and is currently monitoring over 8 million homes.

This means that on a day-to-day basis your home and family will receive the best monitoring the security market has to offer.

Cons

  • No Warranty

No Warranty

Nationwide essentially doesn't offer a warranty to customers unless they purchase a certain amount of equipment.

Besides the 90-day manufacturer's warranty, Nationwide only covers maintenance for customers who choose a package that is at least $33.99 a month.

This type of policy is unusual in the security industry. Most companies offer either a basic minimum warranty of one year or a lifetime warranty regardless of the package chosen.

Our Recommendation

Although Nationwide is a relatively young security company they have quickly established themselves as a trustworthy dealer in the community. Customers should feel confident in their decision to have their family and homes protected by Nationwide Security.
