While other companies will charge anywhere from $99 to over $1,000 in upfront costs, Protect America currently charges $0 in upfront fees. However, those who want to purchase their equipment outright still can.

If a customer wants to purchase devices from Protect America upfront, they definitely can and this will result in a lower monthly fee. Protect America has transparent pricing on their services and equipment. Other alarm companies require homeowners to call in and get a quote. Low Monthly Monitoring Fees

Protect America offers five different home security packages ranging from a locked-in rate starting at $19.99 per month (landline monitoring), one of the cheapest monthly monitoring packages available in the home security industry. 3-Year Contract

One downside of Protect America is its 3-year (36-month) contract. Some home security companies offer their home security services with shorter contracts or no contracts at all; however, a 36-month contract is quite common within the industry. The reason companies can have shorter or no contract is because they require a customer to purchase the home security system upfront.

Cancellation Policy

If you do decide to cancel Protect America's services, you will be required to pay 100% of the remaining balance of your contract. Other home security companies may only require you to pay a percentage of the remaining balance. Protect America offers several different types of sensors. They have the door and window sensors which detect whenever the door or window is opened. The Protect America door and window sensors are wireless microsensors which means they do not have to be plugged into your wall and are hidden out of the way. It is advised that customers place a sensor on every door and window for optimum security.

Glassbreak detector: $99/each

Protect America's equipment includes a glassbreak detector. With this device, an alarm will trigger if glass breaks while your system is armed. The alarm works wirelessly and picks up sound within a 20-foot radius.

Indoor Camera: $100

I called protect America because they are number 1 !! Wrong my approach was I would by my equipment along with some extras. After severallphone calls I got a tech to help put on the window sensors and set up my service . I couldn’t get any help with the wrong cameras they sent which where not wireless . I called a few times for help and found myself wIting for them to call me back or. It call me back till the next day . So after several phone calls and deciding to stay because a supervisor asked me to try one more time . I did and what a mistake . So I decide to cancel and get my money refunded . I mail the equipment back and call last week about my refund and the girl tells me they received it and are processing it . One week later I call again and now I’m told the equipment has not been received from fedex and it will be another 14 days for my refund . 600 plus dollars I pay and the worst service I have ever had to deal with . It was a great dissapointment and will never do business with this company again . Hopefully this review doesn’t effect my refund

I have been a customer for about 4 years. It's nice having a security system. And that's what you pay them a monthly fee. However when your system is having issues they are terrible. Expect to be in hold waiting for an operator for 3 hours minimum. There is no exceptions to this. Sure when your new customer and on your first 30 day you get right through. However after the honeymoon period you get no help or support. The people are very nice and pleasant but seriously understaffed. One time.my alarm went off it was over 20 minutes before someone responded. Luckily it was a false alarm and yeah the alarm person can't help you or even tell you what caused the false alarm you have to wait 3 hours on hold to get through to someone who then tells you you have a bad battery in a sensor. Which you can buy at store but when you change it now you have to call them again wait on hold 3 hours.

Being a military family that moves annually, we would encourage all military families to steer clear and avoid protect america services. They are not compatible with moves over their 36-month contract time. They are the only company that we have ever encountered that did not abide by the Civil Service Relief Act, which enables displaces military families to get out of their contracts, penalty free when a service cannot be extended to that new duty station. Because we had to live on base at our current station, protect america services do no extend to on base security. Now, we are paying $50/month to protect america for a sevice they cant provide. Being active duty, we feel that protect America is in fact NOT protecting america when our service enables their organization to operate freely in this country. We are ashamed in them, their policy, and their services. Rather than protect america, we would recommend frontpoint as a securiy system! They have military discounts, and do abide by all military clauses to stop service if displaced to a location in which they cannot serve. God bless america and CHOOSE A SECURITY COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY RESPECTS AMERICA. I have spend countless hours on the phone with protect america, and even had bsse security write to them. I even submitted our military orders, in which protect america tried to interpret and did so incorrectly. It was very dissappointing, and actually appalling, to have an uneducated service representative repreaenting a dedicated customer. Knowing the assuming nature of their customer service reps is another great reason to avoid this company.

Rude customer service. I called with questions when we were selling our home. They were going to continue to charge the full amount ($51.99) each month even when I didn't know where we were moving to. When I asked about reducing the amount/service or cancelling the service, the customer service rep said, "Sir, they don't lower the payment when you purchase a car. You signed a contract." I really would have appreciated a more sincere, helpful response. Buyer beware.

I cannot recommend this company. I could never actually get the system to connect properly; they have long telephone wait lines for service, so they send you to the chat line. I told them to cancel my product on June 27th when our condo was to sell on the 28th. Ok, so they have a 30 day ahead policy (how was I to know how soon it would sell?), but then they promised they would cancel it for August and now they are pushing that to the END of September! So I'll be paying at least 2, if not three months of $47.99 unnecessarily. If I were a company, I would want to work WITH clients rather than just being greedy.

This company only wants your money. Their customer service wait time is ridiculous and their cancellation policy is unclear. They will state one thing over the phone and when they send you a bill or cancellation document it was state another. Be aware! They just want your money! Security service is a delay as well.

Run, don't walk from this company. We had a 36 month contract with this company and that dates back to 2015. We have tried to cancel and they wouldn't let us because of the 36 month contract. We are now FOUR YEARS into this and they are still billing our account. In addition, the system has not been connected to their hub for two of the past four years and no one knows why it's not connected. Just done with this company and I will be contacting our local attorney general and the BBB.

BEWARE of deceptive HARD SALES tactics. It was almost impossible to get out of the contract during the 30-day trial period - I was abused on the phone for a long time by several people, having to repeatedly explain why I didn't want their system while they tried to offer me a better deal one after another. Unbelievable abuse of an older female wanting to just get out. Also be prepared to PAY FOR ONE MONTH of service even if you never install their system during the first 30 days because they require a 30 day notice to cancel!!! So much for their free 30-day trial! If you want to keep their system, call them after you get their system in the mail, and pretend to cancel and you will get their best deal if you are willing to put up with that for 15-20 minutes.

Absolutely worst customer service, billing and experience. I will tell anyone willing to listen to avoid them at all cost. I had an alarm going off for 45 minutes and I was being transferred. They have the nerve to expect 30 days notice (after 6 years of aervice) and now say that I have a balance from 3 years ago. I have a new debit card, requested cancellation of the billing and they are STILL charging the card. STAY AWAY!

I have had more than several incidents with someone coming in and out my unit since I have had your system. Recently, on 6/24/2019 I called around 12pm and a "Rene" answered the telephone and even before I could say my name she told me I didn't have an account I had just paid a bill of 196.00 on 6/15/2019 she repeatedly said, 'you don't have an account" and then hung up on me how rude, curt and abrupt she needs to be fired. On July 11, 2019 someone entered my unit while I was at work a full investigation needs to be conducted.

First I most apologize to my mother because she said if you don’t have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all. But I can’t sit silent knowing that someone else is in danger of becoming Protect America next victim. I have had nothing but a horrible experience with this company and it started the day I received the system the DIY installation they claim is quick and easy was everything but. The tech was unhelpful and finally hours later the system was installed but guess what my whole reason for getting the system doesn’t work. The doorbell camera hasn’t worked properly since I brought the thing it’s off line 90% of the time. I called and spoke to multiple reps techs and supervisors but no help was given just lies. And when I tried to cancel they promptly like me know that I have 30 plus months left on my contract and they will continue to bill me monthly until the end of the contract. This is very unfair seeing how I never received one month of actual properly working service they did give me the option to pay out the life of my contract upfront I guess it sucks to be me at this point. But for anyone looking into security systems do not I repeat do not look into Protect America it’s a bad investment your better off getting a pit bull.

I've used Protect America for 2 years and have been happy with their service. I currently am looking for someone to takeover the remainder of my contract 24 months (it is fully transferable). Monthly cost is $31.99 and I will cover your first 3 months! It includes panel box, 10 door/window sensors, 1 motion detector, & keychain remote. It can be easily self-installed. Protect America has a phone app that you can also use to arm/disarm.

Don't fall for this. They are not ranked #1 and they definitely shouldn't be. I believed this website and got stuck with Protect America for 3 years. Big mistake. More expensive than other DIY installation systems with less features and terrible customer service. Tech support was unable to help me resolve a battery replacement problem. Not 0 stars because the system is basically functional (i.e., alerts the authorities).

This is a stupid tax, you pay for being an idiot if you sign with them. So yes I'm admitting I made a huge error. The service is laughable in both of the homes this has been in. They will try to blame the home, location, and you for their equipment not working. They know their products don't work so they lock you into a contract you have to pay the balance on. These people are also happy to waste your time by having you TAKE APART YOUR EQUIPMENT to get out of admitting there's an issue on your end, and THEY WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR SHIPPING AND REPLACEMENT PARTS for faulty units before sending you another base unit they will try to charge you for. Their agents are few and far between, but they're kind, poorly trained, but still nice people.

Never do business with this company. I called in and tried to cancel my service in February of this year and was told they would "Put it on Hold" in hopes that I would continue the service. I told them I was not interested in doing that as I sold the house and would be moving. In April I money is withdrawn from my account so I call from they said they have restarted my service which I did not ask for. Again I asked to cancel the service and they said they couldn't do that as I need to talk with the retention department. Again I told them I wanted to cancel it and they said it was inactive yet they continued to withdraw money from my account monthly. I finally got the message trough to them on June 3rd and they canceled it supposedly. A week later I get a bill for June. I chat with a service rep and am told that it takes 30 days to cancel an account and of course, they continued to bill me for service that was not activated and in a house I didn't even live in. This is not the first I have heard of the predatory practices of this company. It is my belief that a class action lawsuit should be filed.

This company does not take responsibility for its faulty equipment, leading to false alarms and hefty fines for the homeowner. If they call and don’t contact you it’s YOUR fault, despite it was their faulty equipment that triggered the alarm in the first place.

The worst company ever...For a security system that is supposed to protect families it only scams them. The technology is awful, they sell a broken system that cannot connect to WiFi. Their sensors fall off doors. And now I’m trapped in a contact and they won’t even be reasonable to help us get out of it. I waited over 2 hours to talk to someone for them to tell me I have to pay 18 more months of my contract even though the system is literally not able to be used. Do not fall for this scam. This company should be ashamed with themselves

MARCH AND APRIL TELLING THEM THE HOUSE WAS NOT LIVEABLE TO CANCEL AND I CALLED THEM NUMBEROUS TIMES SAME STORY. Signal gets lost frequently and can't arm or disarm from the app at times. Censors are faulty and will sometimes say that certain windows or doors are opened when they are not.

My experience with the Protect America System has been a real problem. The equipment provided is substandard. The monitors that are self installed do not stay in place; they soon fall from the surface where they are placed. I had a service that sent a technician to install the equipment prior to this service and the equipment was stable and remained where they were placed. I am now in the situation where I'm selling my home and moving to temporary quarters for a 3 month period. There is no way according to the Protect America company for me to end my service contract. I must continue to pay the exorbitant rate charged each month. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
