While other companies will charge anywhere from $99 to over $1,000 in upfront costs, Protect America currently charges $0 in upfront fees. However, those who want to purchase their equipment outright still can.

If a customer wants to purchase devices from Protect America upfront, they definitely can and this will result in a lower monthly fee. Protect America has transparent pricing on their services and equipment. Other alarm companies require homeowners to call in and get a quote. Low Monthly Monitoring Fees

Protect America offers five different home security packages ranging from a locked-in rate starting at $19.99 per month (landline monitoring), one of the cheapest monthly monitoring packages available in the home security industry. 3-Year Contract

One downside of Protect America is its 3-year (36-month) contract. Some home security companies offer their home security services with shorter contracts or no contracts at all; however, a 36-month contract is quite common within the industry. The reason companies can have shorter or no contract is because they require a customer to purchase the home security system upfront.

Cancellation Policy

If you do decide to cancel Protect America's services, you will be required to pay 100% of the remaining balance of your contract. Other home security companies may only require you to pay a percentage of the remaining balance. Window and Door Sensors: $39/each

Protect America offers several different types of sensors. They have the door and window sensors which detect whenever the door or window is opened. The Protect America door and window sensors are wireless microsensors which means they do not have to be plugged into your wall and are hidden out of the way. It is advised that customers place a sensor on every door and window for optimum security.

Glassbreak detector: $99/each

Protect America's equipment includes a glassbreak detector. With this device, an alarm will trigger if glass breaks while your system is armed. The alarm works wirelessly and picks up sound within a 20-foot radius.

This is a deadbolt door lock that you can control from your mobile app for keyless access to your house. One of the Z-wave devices from Protect America.

Indoor Camera: $100

Users will want to place Protect America's video surveillance cameras in high traffic areas, like by door entries/exits and hallways. This company's a scam and way overpriced. They tell you $19.99, but then the bill appears as $58/month and there's nothing you can do about it because they lock you into a 3 year contract. When you call to speak to customer service, they tell you either pay the remainder of the 3 years upfront or find someone to take over your contract.

I signed up to Protect America in Feb 2016. Everything was good and the customer service reps treated me kindly and decently, at the time. After a year went by, we felt like we didn’t need the service anymore. I called in to see about possibly ending my contract early. The customer rep said that it’s possible but I would have to pay 41.99 times the remaining months left. Which we couldn’t do, so I decided that we will continue making the payments. Before the phone call was over the customer service rep said that what she could do is set my account to not go to a month to month contract. I accepted that and that ended the phone call. The following year we asked about leaving again, this time just ready to pay the remaining fee, but was persuaded not to do it. This customer rep also told me my account is noted not to go into a month to month after January 31, 2019. On January 4th I wrote into the chat, which forced me to send a email to the company. I asked if this (Jan 1st payment) was the last payment of our contract. Never received a phone call or response. On Feb 1st, my account got charged which led me to call into the company. The first customer rep, had no recollection of my initial first phone call two years ago. We went back and fourth about this for sometime until I asked to speak to a manager. She said that a manager would call back. Instead of a manager calling me back, the same woman, but posing as a new person, called me back. This time she was snippy and rude because I wasn’t accepting the fact that they never had a phone call from me two years prior. I eventually was able to get a manager, Jesse S, who was also doing the same run around. In the end, he told me the best he could do was send me a cancellation form so February would me my last month and that I won’t be charged on March 1st. I opened a dispute with my credit card company and now I’m waiting for the verdict on that. Now today (March 1st) I’ve been charged again. I went to an email response that Protect America and they said that I requested for my service to be cancelled on March 31st 2019. Instead of Jesse S sending me a contract with the correct cancellation on Feb 28th, it was March 31st 2019. I can’t believe I didn't read the entire document, before signing it, a lack on my part. However, the company knew exactly what they were doing. I can’t recommend this company to anyone.

When I called, the person was extremely nice and helpful and they told me the price monthly and the contract and that they would help me install it over the phone. It was very nice. He was very patient with me with me being elderly. The customer service answered all my questions when I've called and they've been very courteous and patient with me.

Put simply, their “service” is a sham. We signed up for a contract shortly after purchasing our house. Everything was fine, until we realized we were paying $54 a month for NOTHING. Our alarm went off while we were out of town and they tried to call us. We were in an area with no cell service and did not get a notification for a missed call. When they didn’t get a hold of us, they did NOTHING. They didn’t keep trying to get in contact with us, they didn’t call the police, they did nothing. After we realized their “service” was useless, we tried to cancel, which of course even though their company is a sham they wanted us to pay the whole balance of the contract. We refused to do so, they gave us a discount for three or four months, and then we paid the monthly fee for the rest of the contract. And then when we went to cancel apparently we didn’t cancel early enough, so they forced us to pay an additional monthly fee. TLDR: this company is a sham, they won’t protect your house, don’t give them your money!

Horrible Company. Do not sign up. After reading reviews that they keep charging you after cancellation, I wrote them 3 months in advance of our end of contract date, notifying them that we did not wish any further services from them of any kind. Sure enough, they kept on charging my credit card month after month. Had to get my credit card company to block them. What a hassle.

I have had two other homes in my 20 years of homeownership, all with security systems. PROTECT AMERICA is the WORST!!! Please , avoid this company at all cost!!! Nothing even began right, from the beginning , the system arrived two days later than expected, the equipment was bulky and not all self- installer friendly. Read the reviews. This is the worst EVER.Sharon Richardson ( SC).

I have had this service for 3 years. It was good until its time to cancel. They hold you hostage and run up a tab. The equipment will cause your alarm to malfunction and false alarms will rack up a big tab. They harass you to no end. If my contract is up. Cancel the service. No, they harass you and make it difficult to cancel the service. Don't go this route. Make sure you renew your alarm permit, if not you will get a bill from the police. Because there equipment is only good for the contract term. The adhesive falls off and triggers the alarm.

this company is the best!!! one day my boyfriend came in the house but forgot to shut the alarm off before he opened the door. by the time he realized it the alarm co was calling me on my cell phone to make sure everthing was ok or did i need the police i love this company they are so professional. if you are looking for a alarm co go with protect america!! they truly do protect you

I've only had the system for a week now and the good is this: no nomey upfront to get the system.. I get over 15 sensors including motion for the same price as adt. As a recent victim of burglary it's important I get the value for my money and I wanted every window and door protected. ADT could not match this so AP was the best deal. A 3 yr contract is nothing compared to the peace of mind you receive. Plus ADT does exactly the same I know I'm a former ADT customer!!

Have had the system for 4 months. Great customer service from info gathering to buying and finally to set up. With the cell phone connection you can do everything from the app. Arm, disarm, check entry history. The yard signs are cool....solar lit at night. Initially when I began to write this comment it was going to be negative. I have had numerous problems with my control panel since last year when I initially installed it. This time I was waiting for a new battery because the one inside is leaking and it could not send a signal to the monitoring station. It’s been three weeks since my panel has sent a signal. One of those weeks I was waiting for the new battery which was going to be shipped over a week ago. I changed my mind when I spoke to Tamara who quickly went into action and ensured that I would receive a new panel instead of sending part after part and the panel still not working. Thanks again Tamara.

Setting up this alarm system was relativey simple. However, use of the main console in it's entirety can be challenging. I believe the Operating Manuals Technical Writers could have done a much better job in helping the uniiniated to under stand the complexities with the "system programming." Nonetheless, the help I've received from customer service personnel (over the phone) has been outstanding and makes up for the instructional shortcomings. Talked with three different personnel and all were very helpful. Plus I know if I encounter more challenges I can count on their help again. "Old timer with short attention span."

We had multiple issues with the product and components not working or coming off doors and then I had a terrible experience canceling my service after having it for more than four years! We called in December and gave them every necessary security to cancel. Then we gave an additional written notice on on our January bill but they still wouldn’t cancel. I gave them the correct email address for their “required” signature yet they sent to wrong email. And after four phone calls, long delays on phone calls they offered to send me a new email but it wouldn’t be accessible for 24 hours and expired in seven days! Then they tried to charge me for the additional months I was trying to cancel jumping through their illusions hoops! After all I went through, the multiple hassles, then the new cancellation email required me to pay for the extra months I didn’t have service before it would let me cancel. Finally I think I’m cancelled and recorded customer service team leader, Tiffanie , I get an email again asking for verification of my e signature!!

I have had other security companies in the past and while Protect America offers about the same security, I love their customer service (as well as the product). We have a few alarms go off and police were dispatched immediately. We just renewed our contract for another 3 years, with upgraded equipment and happy to be a customer of such a great company! Yes, yall can get our business!

Protect America refused to help my 84 year old mother 2 years in to her 3 year contract after my father passed away. Her doctor deemed her medically disabled and she moved in with my sister who already has a system. Even with ADA designation and a doctors letter, Protect America expects 100% of contract even though they are no longer monitoring any system on her behalf. Received 4 conflicting resolutions from PA personnel, from no problem she is disabled and we will cancel after you are transferred to that department, to we will absolutely nothing to resolve this problem. It takes 24-48 hours to speak to a supervisor. Protect America deserves a negative number. I am appalled by their lack of reasonable service

I dont remember having a contract, as soon as my contract was over i called to cancel, on the phone for a long time. the agent said i have to give a 30 day notice which is a bunch of crap when your contract is over and you fulfilled the time it should be over. DONT DO BUSINESS.WITH THIS COMPANY

They have been okay so far. Customer service is absolutely amazing, minus one call which made me feel as though I was a complete idiot. My concerns are that sometimes when I pick the house and wait for the final beep, people will still be able to come in without the alarm going off. My partner (who lives with me) was also kicked out of our house once by the cops after one of the reps sounded the emergency code and the cops thought she was a burglar. So that was not a fond experience.

I signed a 3 year contract 13 months ago in a house that I owned. I just sold my house and per the contract home security, intercom, and home surveillance systems are to stay in the house and considered personal property such as the blinds, curtains, etc. Protect America has zero concern that you are moving and the equipment has to stay. They just want their monthly money or the remaining balance in full. Needless to say they will NOT be going in my new home NOR will i suggest to anyone else to use them. Equipment - in addition, i had the extra key pad which they could never get to work nor would they replace it for me. The cameras both stopped working. Getting them to fix it over the phone or in person is almost impossible. They refer you to their website etc. So the last year I haven't even used the crappy stuff.

I've had this system for 7+ years, easy to set up, I understand they have newer system available , may try it but the old ones working great. The motion sensor to me is the most important part, even if they get through door/window the motion sensor picks up signal very quick. Also great protection for family member that's left alone when everyone else leaves for work, My most recent experience was with cust service Mark, very helpful and professional. He offered new products and told me the features, we discussed pros & cons and their was no high pressure sales, he thanked me for being long time customer and said they were always available.if I needed anything. Wish more larger American companies would take notice and learn what excellent customer should be like!
