3-Year Contract

System was very easy to install. The amount of time to install it depends on how complex you make it. I would highly suggest getting the wireless module. The initial setup attaches to a LAN line, but a LAN line can be cut. The alarm would still go off but the signal would not be sent. The wireless/cellular module is tamper proof, and you can control the system from your phone or computer. The cellular module even keeps track of where the system was armed or disarmed, or set off. THey say you dont have to drill any holes. All my door sensors stayed put with the sticky tape, but the larger glass break sensors needed to be screwed into the wall or cieling which isnt a big deal. The customer service is absolutely amazing. I always get all the help I need very quickly, and they stay with me until they get it taken care of.

I should have written my reviews 5 months ago, but better late than never. We were on a vacation in December when our alarm system malfunction. The company admitted there was something wrong with their system. It was sending my husband messages that the alarm was turned off several times. They couldn't do anything such as turning off the system that will keep on beeping until we were back home. Sent my cousin to check. Problem persisted until we decided to cut our vacation a day in advance. What Protect America did after our report - NOTHING! Cannot wait to get out of the contract.

I have had continued issues with customer service, account charges, contract renewals, and having an operable system since day one. Last week, my control panel stopped working and they were unable to reach me in the time allowed, so apparently they dispatched an officer according to the statement they gave my mother when they called her at midnight, police didn't arrive, EVER. My front door wont arm. My garage door says its the master bedroom They charged my old bank account when I gave them new banking information. When they said they would issue a credit they charged me again. I have tried to cancel my contract on several occasions but they give me the run around about returning equipments and credits issued. I would never recommend protect america to anyone that wants a quality system with a good response time, and customer service they can count on. Save your money.

This alarm company leaves very little to complain about if anything. Once I punched in the wrong code without noticing and my smart phone sent me a signal message that an alarm was activated and before I could cancel it, the police were at my door. My only complaint is the replacement battery cost me $50.00 when I could have gotten it at Amazon.com for $16.00. Their parts are expensive if you buy from them. Otherwise they`re great.

Protect America is a scam, They have a good sales department that talks to you into a 3 years contract because they know their equipment and services are sub-standard. From day one the technical support was poor , slow and difficult to follow. The wireless entry pad is useless as the batteries do not last very long so you have to continuously replace them that is also applicable to the motion sensor. The monitoring center is slow to pick up the phone and they manage to mess up my contact information. After two years of pains I am really feed up with them as the equipment began to malfunction and send false alarm and since they do not have my correct phone number the could cancel it. Anyhow I am not using the alarm because of all the issues I have been having. I am want OUT of this contract. This company is not worth the money I spent. If they do not cancel my contract I am filling a complain with the BBB. I am frustated

The PROTECTAMERICA system in my home has issued two false alarms in the last two weeks. According to customer service person, the first one was issued by the base unit: neither my wife nor I had touched that unit all that day. Today the false alarm was due to the contact on our front door that we used several times before alarm was issued. The status of the system was DISARMED when each alarm was issued.

WOW!!!!!! I relocated and Protect America had a few minor issues with transferring the unit from one state to the next but they resolved them all. I can honestly say this is the best alarm system I have had. Response time is great and the monitoring system is superior to any other product out there. In fact I am currently attempting to become a rep to sell this service. Once again fantastic job Protect America.

Just upgraded to Smart Connect. Keep getting a message stating my alarm has been disabled. Check the app on my Droid and it tells me that its on. Cannot use app without it freezing up. Have to remove the app then go back and download it again. I feel like the Smart Connect was just a sales pitch. It doesn't work at all. I don't know if my home is secured or not. Been with PA for years with no problem till now.

This is the worst product and worst company I have EVER dealt with! This product doesn't work. My wife and I have been woken up several times in the middle of the night with the alarm going off. I got to the point when it went off we would just go down and shut the system off without checking the house to see if anyone had broken in. It also went off several times when we were out of the house. Each time the company would "fix" the problem for a few days until it happened again. Some times the system didn't even alarm when we opened the door after coming home with the alarm set. So to recap it went off when it shouldn't and didn't go off when it should. My family was not safe with this system so we called to cancel it. The company wants us to pay for ending our contract early. We explained that we were ending the contract because they are not providing the service they said they would. We are still working this out with the company. They will not admit their product has problems even though they can see how many times we have had false alarms. We called another company and they sent someone in to install their system. The technician walked in and laughed at the system we had. He told us to see how bad this system is, and he unplugged the system and pulled it off the wall. Protect America never called to let us know the system had been tampered with. I talked to Protect America and they said that of course they wouldn't know that the system didn't know there was a problem if it's unplugged. If you want to break into a house that is "protected" by Protect America, just cut the power. I would not even keep this system in my home if it was free, I wouldn't even trust it if they paid me. The safety of my family is too important to me. In 6 months with the other company we have never had a problem with the system.
