In many ways, SafeTouch offers security systems comparable to other companies in the industry: average contract length of 36-months and an average installation fee of $99. However, their undisclosed pricing and equipment information, along with negative reviews of the company’s customer service, puts them behind the curve when it comes to choosing the best home security system.

Pros

Response Rate

SafeTouch Security prides itself on its guaranteed 45-second response time, meaning that if your security system is triggered in any way, you will hear from a SafeTouch representative in under a minute.

Professional Installation

Many people interested in home security want a service that offers installation of motion sensors, security cameras, a monitoring station, and other equipment purchased. SafeTouch promises quality installation by their licensed employees. This service comes with a promise that they will have everything installed correctly the first time. For those more interested in a DIY alarm service, we recommend checking out Protect America.

Average Warranty and Contract

There is a warranty on both parts and service for as long as you are a SafeTouch customer. Those who are not completely satisfied with SafeTouch home security can return the alarm system within 30 days for a full refund. SafeTouch features a 36-month minimum contract requirement, which is average with other home security companies. Customers do have the option to pay a month-by-month contract after their contract ends, but unless they specify this as their preference, SafeTouch will role them into an additional two-year contract.

Cons

Negative SafeTouch Security Reviews

Over the past year, 95% of SafeTouch security reviews on Best Home Security Companys have been negative. Below are the most common complaints we see from customers:

  • Contract. While SafeTouch Security does not share contract information on its site, reviewers say they are locked into a 3- to 5-year contract.
  • No Cancellation Option. Whether a customer was moving or no longer interested in the service, reviewers say that SafeTouch does not let them cancel.
  • Poor customer service. Many reviewers mention that the customer service personnel say different things and that they feel mislead. The general consensus is that customer service is frustrating to work with.

Review of SafeTouch Security on Best Home Security Companys

Undisclosed Alarm Package Information

All SafeTouch home security systems come with the promised 45-second response rate. They also include an emergency power source, lifetime warranty, local UL monitoring, crash detection, and the MySafeTouch App. SafeTouch uses cellular monitoring for their security systems. While the company does not disclose pricing on its site, the offer vague information on three alarm packages:

SafeTouch Secure – The company’s website says this package comes with “all the essentials”. While we don’t know what the mean, we can assume it comes with a control panel and sensors. At least one motion detector is included, along with window contacts.

SafeTouch Advantage – The control panel with this monitoring package has a 2-way voice feature. You can also include smart home features such as lighting, temperature, and crash detection.

SafeTouch Pro – This is the only monitoring service offered by SafeTouch that includes security cameras. Again, all the monitoring equipment is not outlined on SafeTouch Security‚Äôs website. Video can be streamed using the company’s mobile app and saved to cloud storage.

Limited Locations

SafeTouch Security only offers monitoring services in Florida and Georgia. For those who live outside these two states, we recommend reading about our top home security companies.

Our Recommendation

While SafeTouch responds quickly and provides a warranty for parts and service, their lack of company transparency and negative customer reviews are a good reason to look elsewhere for home security.

” If you are looking for a home security company with straightforward terms, greater availability, and quality equipment and services, you are encouraged to look elsewhere”……….says it all. We sold our home. called to cancel monitoring, since we no longer owned the home. And they refused to stop monitoring the home. they had no process to outline our options. essentially just kept saying – you can transfer the service. well we weren’t ready to transfer the service. They never offered for us to pay off our contract in full. we had to dig through our contract terms to find that option. BTW our contract only had 60-days still on it. It was stressful and ridiculous. Not at all a “Safe Touch”. Never again will we choose them.

Con artist, that’s a given. Cheaper price than quoted, meaning you’ll receive older equipment. Monitory not up to date, so now they want us to pay for newer equipment. The most interesting, they didn’t mention it was a 5 year contract. Lets see how it goes when I cancel….mb

Been battling with them for over a year about their auto renew policy. I moved from the property over a year ago and they don”t want to deal with their customer and just want the money coming to their account every month. Don”t we all!! I definitely would never do business with this company again unless something is changed in their business model!!!!

Good service but they are no better than used car salesman. They do not point out that you are signing a five year agreement. Next if you don’t send them written cancellation, they automatically resign you for two more years. I had my own system in place, that they used. No one would knowingly sign a 5 year contract. You don’t even know if you will live there for 5 years. They are basically con artist. Beware before you sign. DON’T DUE BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Very deceptive company. Like many others we thought we were signing for 3 years just to find out it was for five. When remodeling the house we found out that they would charge $125 per hour to do the required relocation. When ask for a representative to give us a set cost we were told it would cost the 125.00 just for the estimate. After paying a licensed contractor to do the required work for a fraction of the hourly rate we were then told they would not connect to the new set-up and would again have to pay 125.00 to have a tech come look at it to see what could be done. I’m sure they would want to redo a totally great set-up. Now we are stuck with buying out the last two years of the contract just so we can find another company who is willing to connect to our equipment. Very unreasonable people to deal with.

Safetouch is the only company on the Planet that guarantees the CUSTOMER that they will respond to your alarm.

Others Companys lets not mention names …,,,….in their contract state “they may elect to respond or they will endeavor to respond to your buglar alarm.

There 3 yr agreement is a renewable for 2 years ., BUT AT THE END OF THE 3 year agreement you have to send priority mail to not elect to “renew”‘there agreement.

In conclusion if you move, you get a brand new system installed in your new home for $250 ., its the best deal in the Industry

Watch your wallet. About four years ago my house was broken into so I called safe touch. At that time the guy who sold it to me have me sign a number of papers a lot of FinePrint honestly I did not read every single small print words, my bad. I have now unfortunately have been paying for that mistake after two years my monitoring service went from $15 to almost $50 a month. Today, trying to be proactive, I contacted them as I will be going through some job changes and just asked if I could disconnect my service for a couple months and turn it back on. To my surprise I was told that I was under a five-year contract and that they could not turn off the service but I had to pay $200 to upgrade to a 3G service. My service would be disconnected if I did not pay the $200 and then I still have to pay the $50 even if my service is disconnected. I can re-instated my service after pay the $200. I was told this is what I signed bully for you because I was not in a very good frame of mind at that time and the gentleman who sold it to me did not go into any detail so my service increased threefold, and I find out that I’m in a five year service plan. They took advantage of me at a very low moment, my bad for not reading the fine print. So be cautious and watch your wallet.

I have been a customer since I bought my house in 2000. The response time has been great and customer service was good. I upgraded to the wireless system almost 7 years ago. When they did my install they left all the wires from the previous system there instead of pulling them out and spliced into the power supply instead of running a new one for my internet module. I think it was last year I was having problems with the module not staying link to my internet, so they came out and replaced with a different kind which didn’t have the same power supply plug in. Instead of running a new wire or splicing like the last guy, he asked for an extension cord and ran it to my wall outlet. Well we had some electrical storms and had a close call next door with lightning. My system messed up and now they won’t cover it, because of the lightning and it didn’t even hit my house. I was also told that they won’t fix it until I had my Ethernet cable reran instead of using the wireless jumper that I have been using and that is $125. I looked into upgrading again and was told that I have the latest system but I can upgrade my Internet module for $199 that has to be paid up front and still have to pay to have the Ethernet cord ran. The biggest thing that bothered me is when I told them about how all the wires were still there, they told me well that is for your contacts that are hardwired, but my system is wireless and they didn’t know that. There is nothing for customer loyalty, like I said I have been using safetouch for 15 years. I will be writing a cancelation letter cause that is the only way to cancel and I will have a different company come out and upgrade my system cause safetouch doesn’t want to without up front cost.

Do not do business with this company. The salesreps will lie to your face and tell you that you are signing a 3 year contract and somewhere in the contracct it is 5 years. We set the alarm off one time and i called them and told them it was me and my password. The cops still came and i got a warning in the mail. It could be a good company if they did not lie about everything.

We have been with Safe Touch for almost 14 years, the service that we received for the first few years was reliable and mostly trouble free. However,
we had a new system installed after our house was hit by lightening about 2 years ago and the problems have been constant. They don’t even contact us when our alarm goes off even though we have had service calls (always a different diagnosis) since the installation. I was told today by Nicole that in order for S.T. to reevaluate the continuing problem we would have to schedule another service call. When I asked what our refund would be if we canceled our service today, (we paid for monitoring in advance and will not expire until 01/2017) she responded “nothing, you prepaid”.
I can tell you that this company does not deserve my hard earned money and Miss Nicole would not last 5 seconds working for my company. DO NOT TRUST YOUR FAMILY’S WELL BEING TO THIS COMPANY.

Horrible, Horrible. even on the advertising here they say 36 months and sales tells you 36 months and shows you that is is 36 months but elsewhere in the contract is is for 5 years. Also told us they would move us to a new location for $99.00 but that is a lie too. They are simply packed full of lies and deceiptful advertising and contracts.

Horrible company! Would not recommend it to anybody!! First they try to scare you so you sign up. Then they give you faulty equipment that doesn’t work and needs to be replaced every few months but they still make you pay every month because they make you sign a contract! Even now that the house is being sold they still won’t let me cancel because of the contract so I am wasting money on a product that doesn’t even work!

Like all the other complaints. Safe Touch sales rep sold me on a 3 yr. contract. Even filled in the blanks with 36 mo. However, the fine print states that the contract is for 5 years which the sales rep fails to tell you.
I’ve paid for the service with auto CC pay for almost 4 years when the system stop communicating. Apparently they had to upgrade there GSM service. The technician came out to install new module and left. I assumed it was fixed. WRONG. From this point on the company has given me the run-around. They won’t fix the communicator and keep sending me the bill. This has gone on now for 6months. I’ve tried numerous times to resolve this issue with them and they keep telling me to test the system. “IT DOESN’T WORK”. Worst security company I’ve dealt with. If you have a similar problem please do what I did and write to the BBB.

WORST Alarm company on the planet! First of all their sales reps disguise contracts as 36 months long when the contract is really for 5 YEARS!!!! I’ve never heard of a 5 year contract for a residential security system. Not only is it absurd but it is extremely dishonest. Sales rep assured me that I was signing for only 3 years and now I am stuck because you only have 3 days to cancel after signing. Unbelievable.
On top of that I’ve had nothing but issues with my alarm system on a monthly basis. The system is constantly beeping at odd hours. Every time I’ve called for support, they’ve sent a tech out to fix the issue. And every time, a week later the beeping starts again! It’s pure insanity! I regret every doing business with this company and would never ever recommend them not even to my worst enemy. Homeowners beware!!!!

Our salesperson was not up front when we signed our contract five years ago. We should have read the fine print rather than trust her. Turns out, it’s very hard to cancel a contract. You initially sign for three years, then there’s an automatic 2-year renewal. Plus, don’t forget about the free months you may be getting in the deal as they add to the service agreement term. Make sure you carefully read before you sign.

Also, customer service (non-emergency) is hard to reach.
