In many ways, SafeTouch offers security systems comparable to other companies in the industry: average contract length of 36-months and an average installation fee of $99. However, their undisclosed pricing and equipment information, along with negative reviews of the company’s customer service, puts them behind the curve when it comes to choosing the best home security system.

Pros

Response Rate

SafeTouch Security prides itself on its guaranteed 45-second response time, meaning that if your security system is triggered in any way, you will hear from a SafeTouch representative in under a minute.

Professional Installation

Many people interested in home security want a service that offers installation of motion sensors, security cameras, a monitoring station, and other equipment purchased. SafeTouch promises quality installation by their licensed employees. This service comes with a promise that they will have everything installed correctly the first time. For those more interested in a DIY alarm service, we recommend checking out Protect America.

Average Warranty and Contract

There is a warranty on both parts and service for as long as you are a SafeTouch customer. Those who are not completely satisfied with SafeTouch home security can return the alarm system within 30 days for a full refund. SafeTouch features a 36-month minimum contract requirement, which is average with other home security companies. Customers do have the option to pay a month-by-month contract after their contract ends, but unless they specify this as their preference, SafeTouch will role them into an additional two-year contract.

Cons

Negative SafeTouch Security Reviews

Over the past year, 95% of SafeTouch security reviews on Best Home Security Companys have been negative. Below are the most common complaints we see from customers:

  • Contract. While SafeTouch Security does not share contract information on its site, reviewers say they are locked into a 3- to 5-year contract.
  • No Cancellation Option. Whether a customer was moving or no longer interested in the service, reviewers say that SafeTouch does not let them cancel.
  • Poor customer service. Many reviewers mention that the customer service personnel say different things and that they feel mislead. The general consensus is that customer service is frustrating to work with.

Review of SafeTouch Security on Best Home Security Companys

Undisclosed Alarm Package Information

All SafeTouch home security systems come with the promised 45-second response rate. They also include an emergency power source, lifetime warranty, local UL monitoring, crash detection, and the MySafeTouch App. SafeTouch uses cellular monitoring for their security systems. While the company does not disclose pricing on its site, the offer vague information on three alarm packages:

SafeTouch Secure – The company’s website says this package comes with “all the essentials”. While we don’t know what the mean, we can assume it comes with a control panel and sensors. At least one motion detector is included, along with window contacts.

SafeTouch Advantage – The control panel with this monitoring package has a 2-way voice feature. You can also include smart home features such as lighting, temperature, and crash detection.

SafeTouch Pro – This is the only monitoring service offered by SafeTouch that includes security cameras. Again, all the monitoring equipment is not outlined on SafeTouch Security‚Äôs website. Video can be streamed using the company’s mobile app and saved to cloud storage.

Limited Locations

SafeTouch Security only offers monitoring services in Florida and Georgia. For those who live outside these two states, we recommend reading about our top home security companies.

Our Recommendation

While SafeTouch responds quickly and provides a warranty for parts and service, their lack of company transparency and negative customer reviews are a good reason to look elsewhere for home security.

I had a credit card canceled due to fraudulent charges. I called Safe Touch to provide them the new card information. A couple of months later I received a letter from a Debt Collection Agency. Frustrating. I am very disappointed with how they managed that. They’ve never called me to check – they prefered to send to a third party. Worse, they made the mistake, not me. I will cancel the service whenever I have a chance.

NEVER had to pay anything up front. Monthly is $9.85 for all of it except cameras, which in Orlando are now almost required even in closed communities. Best service; here same day but always within 12. I dont know who said this crap or even knew the company; I have had to live with robots from other companies for years. Now we just dont worry. Invasion and reach your protection, just slide your hand across pad anywhere, NO VOICE comes back ASKING, the cops, the EMTs the FIRE have already been called. Almost as good as 5 shells of dble 00.

This is probably the worst company I’ve ever dealt with!!! I called Safetouch to have a repair done (which in the end I didn’t need, but during that call we decided to test my alarm system. As we tried a few times, the lady on the phone said that there were not receiving a signal when I tried to set off the alarm. We troubleshooted for a bit then she tells me it looks like I had not been monitored for a few months now.. Are you kidding me. I live alone and thought I was safe at night! I told her my internet is working fine, system is fine, what could be the problem. She said the only way to find out is to have a service guy come out for $75. Its not the money, but I have to pay someone when all equipment seems to be fine to find out why they are not getting a signal. Ridiculous!! So, I proceeded to cxd the service… which later I find out I was in a 5 yrs contract which I was unaware of. So now I will have to pay them til 2018 without my house being monitored or pay the $75 for one os their people to come out!! I am just livid. I think they should have done a courtesy call to come out to my house!! NEVER GET SAFETOUCH!!!!

My wife changed credit card numbers and our auto-bill stopped working. We only found out after a collection company sent us a $900+ bill(we hadn’t paid for 11 months ($31 per month = $341). We’ve had safe touch for 10 years now withno complaints. Now a $900+ bill for 11 months? If anyone has a copy of their contract send me one please. After reading complaints I don’t see that asking them for a copy of my original would be successful.
I think after 10 years I’m beyond statutes of limitations yet it still hit my credit report.

Beware SNAKETOUCH. A 60 ft oak tree fell on my house and the alarm NEVER went off.
Ever. The tree demolished three (3) rooms of my home and Safetouch never even knew it.
That is an advertisenment they should use!
Absolutely awful service. Anyone coming to the end of a three year contract (especially those that pre-paid for three years as I did!) watch these snakes closely. My system “failed” within days of my three year contract expiring. Safetouch would not even send a technician out to me until I pre-paid for the service call with a credit card. Period.
THAT is how a three-year pre-paid customer is treated. I also found out that due to system failures, my home was unprotected/not being monitored for a period of three months! Their call center reps are rude and ill-equipped to answer a pay phone much less calls involving security of one’s home, family or business. When I sent them a registered letter of cancellation I was then sued for the balance of what I was then told was a SEVEN year contract that was in the “fine print” of the original contract. Something in fine print my upstanding Safetouch sales-person did not point out. When calling to find out how to go about cancelling a contract with them, they play games with you…..”You have to talk with this person….”…..then that person is never available or will never return your calls. They play the numbers and sue the customers that got them to be the (too) large of a company they now are.
Beware SnakeTouch…….you get what you pay for, and they intend to keep you paying for it long after you end (or try to end) your relationship with them.

Safe Touch will not allow me to cancel my contract. I am in a financial hardship and called Safe Touch to get information on cancelling my account. I was told to send a letter of cancellation. I sent the letter in June and never heard anything back. I called back in July and was told they received the letter and it would take 2-3 months for payments to stop being drafted out of my account. Two months later, payments are still being drafted out of my account so I called to check the status of the cancellation. I am not being told I can not cancel my account and I have to keep the contract until 2017.

I am very dissatisfied. I feel like I was misled when I called and was told it would only be 2-3 months before the payments would stop being drafted. They left me under the impression that my account was being cancelled.

I asked to speak with a supervisor and I was told they were on another called. I asked to hold and I was told no. They are supposed to call me back in 24/48 hours….which I doubt they will. I am very unhappy and I will post this story everywhere in hopes that no one else will fall for their shady business practices!!!

When I signed up for their service I thought I would. Have 24/7 service. I work Mon through Sat. Every other month there is a problem or rather error with my system. Either one of the sensors is not reading and I have to reset it daily, or the battery is low (when I put in a new one it does not fix the problem),the system just goes off randomly in the middle of the night, or the IFOB system is down. Regardless of what the problem is, they have to send a service agent out to fix it. Now the part they don’t tell you is their service agents work the same schedule as myself and they don’t work weekends. So when you get these annoying errors that beep or go off day and night you are just stuck. How can a company that prides itself with service not have agents that work 24/7? This is an alarm company, I would like to feel safe in my home all the time, yet I feel with all the problems their systems have if I did ever have a real issue the whole thing would not even work. Also when I did try to make a scheduled day for service (today is Fri and I tried to set up a service date for Wed) I was told they were booked up and could not come. Now I get to listen to this beep beep for 2 more weeks or until I just rip it out of the wall. I’m starting to feel like the commercial “I hate Safe touch”

Safe Touch has cost me over 1000 in false alarms due to there faulty system. I just spoke to the manager of call center Michel and he told me its not the alarm companies fault that there system doesn’t work properly. I told him he was speaking to me like a fool and it was clearly there fault. If the system goes off on its own repeatedly without help of a human I should be responsible as a business owner. I am at 500 per call to the authorities once alarm is tripped. I would advise that you find another alarm company to deal with. They clearly do not want to take responsibility even with proof from the work orders showing the system defaulted.

Thank you for taking advantage of my business. Do not pay this company one cent….You could fall victim as well.

Do not have a system installed by this company! In 12 months time, I have had 3 issues with faulty equipment. The second time, our system was alarming in the middle of the night due to a faulty sensor–Terrifying!. Last night, my system would not arm because the sensor went out on one of the doors. When I called customer support, I got the pleasure of taking with “Malcom” who tells me no one can come out for five days, during regular buisiness hours only unless I pay $150 to get someone out the following day. He also claims he cannot issue any credits toward service (that I am not getting and paying for) because I am being monitored at the other entry points and “still do have monitoring service”. He was verbalizing his trained crap that makes absolutely no sense. I plan to switch companies as soon as my contract is up—prior to the safe touch system we had a system with ADT and never had any issues with equipment. Safe Touch only cares about a fast call reponse time. They do not care about the systems or their reliability . As long as their getting paid, they do not care about anything else. I paid nearly $2000 for my current system too, because I moved to a house where the system present wasn’t compatible with SafeTouch and was currently in a contract with them. Keep shopping for another company–I can’t wait to get rid of Safe Touch.

BEWARE of their misleading contract… they will send a salesman to your house who will lead you into believing that you are signing a 36 month contract. He will write everything on the contract for 36 months in section 3 but in section 5 in fine print the contract will state 5 years with 2 automatic 2 year renewals unless they get a written letter asking to terminate 30 days

Safe Touch is the most misleading company ever to do buisness with, they will tell you that the contract is for 36 months but in reality it is for 5 years and automatically renew your contract every 2 years unless you cancel in writing. In fine print in section 5 of the contract they explain this but in section 4 in large letters it states 3 years. Don’t fall for the trap like I did.

This company is the worste out there. From the start they gave me tons of issues. We didn’t pay for 3 months because we had the tech out all the time and it never worked. They told us don’t worry about paying but there shady Time Payment dept sent 2 accounts for the full 3 years to collections and now I had 2 deliquent accounts on my record. When the collections agency sent me the letter that is the first time i received something in the mail. Since I didn’t think i was behind payments because the system wasn’t working for 3 months. I had to pay in full $5000 (3years for service and lease equimpent) to get the shit off my credit. Now When I call Time payment to try to resolve this they provided no support. Good luck getting any customer service from these guys. They are pricy and don’t sign that contract because they got you for over 5K if something doesn’t work.. he told me well it’s like a car, you can’t stop paying if your car doesn’t work. I told him he’s jerk and hung up on him

This is a horrible monitoring company. I’ve tested my system on numerous occasions and never a call or police dispatch. They are not actively monitoring. When I finally called in, I was told that because I changed Modems, that was the problem. So why was I not notified that they could not see my alarm. By the way, I changed modems months ago and this alarm is always going off. As soon as my contract is over, I’m out.

They will nickle and dime you and don’t even try to cut off the service. I spent hours on the phone trying to cut the service off after the 2 yr agreement and still lost money, I just got tired of calling so took the loss. Find and alternative service.

I like how the company does 2-way monitoring instead of calling me when the alarm goes off. I had a service issue and it was resolved within 2 days of my contacting customer service. Based on what other companies reps were pitching, I felt this was the best system available to protect my home and family.
