  • High monthly monitoring fees: Monitoring plans with Vivint start at $39.99 per month and go up based on a variety of additional package options. This is a bit higher than other leading industry providers. Specifically, their lowest plan is priced considerably higher than other industry leading providers and their respective lower plans.
  • A long, 60-month contract: Vivint provides the installation and equipment free of charge, but with one major caveat. You’re basically signing a 5-year (60-month) home security contract. And these contracts aren’t too forgiving. Customers are expected to pay the remaining balance of their contract in the event that they try to cancel early.
  • Solid home automation features: One of the ways Vivint is trying to separate from competition is by positioning themselves as more of a ‘home automation’ solution. Their mobile app allows you to control your home security system remotely. They also have a suite of additional home automation products and features such as temperature control, auto door locking, doorbell cameras and more.
  • Customer service complaints: Former and current Vivint customers have complained of deceptive sales tactics, poor customer service, poor billing practices and slow technician response times. We have received over 1,500 negative reviews here on this website regarding Vivint from real customers.
  • Our recommendation: With a 5-year contract and high monthly monitoring rates, the economics just don’t make sense for most home security seekers. We recommend much more affordable options that don’t tie you down with long contracts, and have a deeper history of high-level customer service. Frontpoint Security and Protect America are two options you should consider if you are interested in Vivint.

This system has NOT worked properly since we first purchased it. We have had to call customer service numerous times for them to try to fix the system and they have never fixed it. When it was first Installed they did NOT install all the components we paid for. Had to call back and reschedule for them to install ALL the equipment that we ordered. Customer service is completely useless they try to make the consumer repair the item over the phone without threatening to charge a service fee. The app NEVER works properly. I had a smoke detector go off a few days ago and because there was a glitch on the panel (which there is ALWAYS something wrong with it) the panel was not charging and disconnected the emergency responders call. He then had to call my husband at work WHO WAS NOT HOME to confirm the house was NOT burning down and he is NOT suppose to get calls at work yet miraculously he did answer during work. The thermostat NEVER works properly. Had a $200 electric bill thanks to Vivint not explaining the settings on the panel I called customer service and all they tried to do was pressure me into signing a 48 month contract to get an upgrade panel they wouldn't even offer a free service to our system to confirm over the next 30 day cancellation period that they require to ensure our system was working properly during that required 30 day cancelation period.Read More

It seems Vivint has a great sales pitch and that is where their greatness ends. Not quite a year into having the system and my cameras rarely, if ever work. I have spent HOURS on the phone with customer service to fix the issues. Each time I have the system fixed, another camera goes down, or my personal favorite, none of them record or allow playback. DO NOT purchase this system, it is not reliable.Read More

PLEASE READ AND INITIAL THE PAGE OR PUT A SMILEY FACE ON PAGE. REASON THE SMALL TABLET THE BRI G TO HAVE YOU SIGN IS TOO SMALL AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SCROLLS UP AND DOWN AFTER WARDS. SO, YOU SIGN UP FOR SIX YEARS INTEAD OF THE 2 OR 3 YEARS. THEN YOU READ ABOUT BILLING AGAIN ASKED TO SIGN AND AGAIN REP SCROLLS UP AND DOWN. NOW YOU HAVE LET THEM ACCESS YOUR BANKING INFO AND ADDTIONAL EQUIPMENT. HAVE THEM PRINT THE CONTRACT BEFORE COMING OR PRINT IT OUT ON YOUR OWN. THIS COMPANY ROBS YOU OF YOUR SLEEP WITH FALSE ALARMS AND BUYING SENSORS AND EQUIPMENT THAT YOU PAY TO HAVE DELIVERED.
RUDE CUTOMER SERVICE AND TECHNICANS THAT COME IN THEIR PERSONAL VEHICLES. I LOST FIVE HOURS OF PAY BECAUSE I CAME HOME TO YET ANOTHER FALSE ALARM. BILLING WOULD NOT PRORATE OR COPENSATE ME:HOWEVER THEY CALLED ME CONSTANTLY HARRASSING ME. WAS TOLD WE WII CONTINUE TIL PAID. THEN PAY ME FOR MY FIVE HOURS SO I CAN PAY YOU. MAKES SENSE. COULD CREDIT THE ACCOUNT? PAIN AND SUFFERING IS ALL VIVINT BRINGS TO YOUR HOME. DON’T LET THEM IN. OH! I COULD BE WRONG BUT THOSE FALSE ALARMS ARE WATS THEY GET YOU TO CALL AND THEN THEY TALK ABOUT YOUR BILL.
AGAIN PUTTING YOUR SUFFERING OF FALSE SECURITY AT A COST.

As soon as the system was installed (Alberta, Canada) they left and I haven’t heard from them since. No signage or stickers where left with me. Camera was faulty from day one. The contract is for 4 years which in hindsight is WAY to long.
Good luck trying to get a hold of anyone from the company. And when door to door sales show up they promise the world to get the repairs and signage done, but then quickly disappear. They are a clown company. DO NOT GO WITH VIVINT.
    Much cheaper options on Amazon.

Bottom line Up Front, After my own recent situation with Vivint, and reading what other customers have written about Vivint, I wished I never got involved with this company and would advise others to not do business with Vivint Home Security.

My issue started anew in Jan 2019, when I received a notice through Credit Karma that Vivint had sent my account to a collection agency a two full years after I followed their instructions to have my service canceled back in Jan 2017, due to moving to an area in California that Vivint Home Security services did not cover.

It all started, originally when my wife and I bought our first home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Vivint sale’s teams came out in force to our new housing community, and we were sold on Vivint’s sales pitch & promises; however, both my wife and I would later find great job opportunities in California and so we moved (live happens).

Five months later, we sold our home in New Mexico ,and had the new home owners mailed our Vivint equipment to us after they declined the offer to take over our existing Vivint Security contract (they were the smart ones).

Originally I considered having Vivint Home Security install the existing equipment in our new place; however, I discovered at that time, that Vivint Home Security was not available in our community there in California. So, after discussing this fact with a Vivint “Move” Specialist, the only advise they would offered for me was to “keep paying and wait to see if services would start up in my area in the near future.”

Six months later, I am still paying for equipment and service I could not use. I contacted Vivint again, and the Moving Specialist I spoke with next stated if I paid to have the nearest authorized Vivint Service Technician come to my home, and confirm that I lived in a Non-Serviceable Area, and emailed Vivint of this fact, that they would cancel the remainder of my contract with them. After complying with Vivint’s instructions, I did not get any more bills nor notices, until this past January.

Now I am trying to contact Vivint and remind them that I followed their own instructions in order to be let out my contract, and still, years later they are trying to come back for payment on services they could not have provided in the first place.

What a solid honest, reliable company.

We have had this service for one year and it has never worked on a consistent basis. Our camera has been changed out angle has been changed motherboard has been changed and we still cannot get consistent recording’s from the doorbell camera. There’s been discrepancies on what we were told then charged for. And they won’t let us out of the contract.

All statements below are based on my own opinions and experience with this company:

*Very deceptive sales tactic and explanations of what the system does and what you have to pay for
*Customer service is a disgrace. Some are very rude, most you can tell have very limited knowledge and read off a template. Constantly are told someone will follow-up with you and they never do. You may receive an email address of tech cell phone # but they will go unanswered so rendered useless. Spent an hour on the phone today just to get a billing issue credited, which remains to be seen if will be issued correctly…..
*Battery levels don’t register properly, system randomly goes offline, alarm alert reminders do not work, video clips quit recording after 30 sec even if someone is there in plain sight.
*Equipment is unreliable and they do not stand behind unless you want to continue to pay for monitoring, even then it is not easy to get something fixed and you will waste countless hours on the phone trying to do so
*The billing is an absolute nightmare. In my opinion is by far the worst experience with any company that I have ever dealt with
*Beware – will try to get you to electronically sign documents that you cannot fully read then have auto-renew clauses hidden in them.

You CANNOT CANCEL-I have never missed a payment since May of 2013. After five years of misery with the system I called to see what the buy out would be and was told it would be 299.94. The system beeped randomly for much of the time. When I called someone would read to me out of the manual what to do.The Police came twice by mistake due to malfunctioning.I called Vivint several times over the last few months and now I am up to 800.00 buy out. When I say I have not signed a contract since the very beginning they say they can do it on the phone on tape. They say they will send me a phone conversation.but I have never heard one.I said I don’t answer the phone unless I know who is calling. They say it will not be vivent. it will be Unknown or Invalid which pretty much sums up why they don’t list the call as vivent. I guess my only option is BBB, a lawyer or social media.

This service doesnt work! First they lied to us spying that there was no contract, well is a 36 month contract. I been with them 3 years and the alarm system doesnt work! The sensors dont work, my Entrance camara is not working you call them to help you fix the camaras and whatever their script says to do we did and didn’t work. I asked her then what’s going to happen? Can you send somebody? She said, but we have to charge you. Charge for what? Vivint is not providing a service, out of 3 years I had my system working probably 7 months or less. Stay away from Vivint! Is a waste of time and money.

If you are thinking of going with Vivint run away as fast as you can. We have had the worst experience trying to close our account. We are on our five month disputing the charges and they say the account is closed every month and they still charge use for service month after month.

I have been a loyal Vivint costumer for several years. We have had the same equipment since 2008 with no offers for upgrades or routine equipment maintenance. I recently called to report faulty equipment and was disconnected several times and was promised credits to my account, which were not received. Also, I scheduled an appointment with a representative/technician to come help with updating our equipment and/or fix our existing equipment with the request for the appointment to be after 3:00 pm. The representative/technician left a note on my door that he arrived at 12:10 pm. I do not recommend doing business with this company now or ever! Costumer service was far less than par, actually it was terrible!

Vivint is a total waste of money, the monthly charges are high and you are locked into a contract unless you pay them thousands of dollars to exit, think long and hard before using this company there are so many much better options, system is constantly down screen freezes all the time, thermostat is inaccurate and so much more I have six months left on this contract and I cannot wait to get out

My husband and I got suckered into buying at best buy as newlyweds. We didn’t mind the price if the service was reliable- or if cancelling at the end of the year in the apartment was easy. Vivint’s product includes: a website that has been down multiple times on certain internet browsers, discontinuing the service to save clips from any point in the day (even with the purchase of the big hard drive they recommended), and the hardware had mysterious outages where the door lock or the panel would stop working -even after checking battery status. Finally, submitting cancellation notice takes 30 days for approval- fantastic. Another $50 down the drain after new house expenses and not using their services for a month. Don’t get suckered in like we did, you can get better services with few fees per month and you won’t be out $1000+… for one door camera, kwikset remote unlock door deadbolt, one home panel, 2 door sensors, and a hard drive. That they discontinued features for. And $50 for that extrra month of service.

They seem ok at first. Many problems including house not being protected for about 2 weeks due to software problems (not even offered compensation), which NO ONE said or did anything about until I was having a problem and called them, my contract shows $0.00 for cameras and panel, turns out being charged over $1100.00 and customer service is nice then quickly go to “I hear this everyday” tone or get real defensive “you signed a contract”. They go up on price and contract no longer means anything.
I strongly recommend a different company. 5 year contract means they know you would leave a lot sooner if you were able!

Vivint home security system has been one disappointment after another, we wish we never had it installed into our home because now we are stuck with a system that does not work.
We first started looking into getting a security system installed when we found out we were pregnant. We happened to find a Vivint booth at a local baby and tot show and man the salesman are so good at their job that they made Vivint seem like the best security system out there. So we set up a home visit with a sales rep so he could come over and see what kind of security we needed in our home.
About a week later we had a rep come into our home for a consultation. During that week we did do our research about the company and their products and the worst thing we read was how terrible their customer service is. However we did hear from a few neighbors that is has improved. So when the rep came we had a list of questions for him and he had answers for all of them. Unfortunately we were miss lead on a lot of these questions and not told the truth. At the time ignorance was bliss as we did not know the truth about the company or their product.
A week after our appointment we had a tech come to the house to install all the equipment and this was the first red flag. We were told the tech would only need a couple of hours for installation when in fact he was here for half the day which was over six hours. We were so disappointed with the installation of the equipment, we were not told of the changes needed to our house in order to to instal the equipment, so holes were drilled and things moved around that we were not aware of. We also were unable to have the equipment installed where we wanted it because it was too hard to put it in those places and we should have had a electrician come to make these changes beforehand as the tech told us. However we settled on the placement of the equipment and that was that.
Everything was great for a first month or so, we felt safe in our home and the system worked as it should have. However our enjoyment was short lived, as our equipment begun to malfunction and this is when the disappointment began with the company and the customer service. In the first six months we had almost every piece of equipment replaced at least once, some more then that. I should also mention that I myself have had to replace most of equipment myself as they are unwilling to send a tech to replace it. In the year and half we have had our system installed I think we have gone maybe maybe! four months without any equipment failure or malfunctions. Our equipment is consistently going offline, which we are not made aware of by Vivint. The only way we find out a piece of equipment is offline is to look into the device on the app or the home panel. So we will go weeks with a camera or sensor offline and we are non the wiser. Great security system hey?
As a new mother with a new born baby this is very unsettling and disappointing. How and why can a security company charge people for equipment that fails and then charge people to monitor their home when the equipment to do so does not even work? How is this right??? We have had sensor malfunction numerous times and to where we have had an alarm/ beeping going off for hours before technical support has been able to correct the issue. Just a month ago we had a sensor malfunction that set off the house alarm. It took technical support over 20 min to get the alarm to stop going off. If you have not been around when an alarm is sounding let me tell you it is ear piercing load, it is so load that even outdoors I had to cover my ears. It was disappointing that tech support could not fix the issue on their end that I ended up having to do everything myself to correct the issue. And when I asked for a tech to come assist with the problem I was told I would have to pay a fee for a tech to come to our house. How is this right? Your equipment and system malfunctions and when I ask for assistance I have to pay for this? Is this not what our monthly fee is supposed to cover???
Now today I realize our outdoor camera is offline, for how long has it been offline who knows a few weeks from what I can see. So I try all the self help troubleshooting online that is provided and none of these solutions work. So unwillingly I contact technical support, knowing full on they will not be able to help correct the issue. My two options today was to either get on a ladder that’s at least 15 feet tall to get up to the camera myself to reset it, or pay to have a tech come out to do it. One it’s -20 weather, there’s over a foot of snow in our yard, and two we don’t have a ladder that tall. So my only option is to pay to have a tech come and fix a faulty piece of equipment yet again. I am not willing to give this company more of our hard earned money to come a fix a piece of equipment anymore. And the best part is when I ask to have the equipment uninstalled I am told they don’t uninstall equipment, that I would have to do that myself and I can not cancel until we pay off the equipment under our contract. Again I ask how is this right? Why are we paying for equipment that is malfunctioning, why are we paying for a monitoring service that cannot monitor because of faulty equipment and a company who will only fix it for a fee!
Words cannot begin to describe how utterly disappointed we are in this company not only in the equipment provided by them but by the continually disappointing customer service. I have never dealt with a company who has so much disregard for their clients happiness. Their constant lack of unwillingness to correct a issue by going above and beyond is saddening, frustrating and utterly disappointing. We constantly feel taken advantage of by this company who only cares about numbers and not their customers happiness in the service and materials provided.
Ultimately we are stuck paying for a system that does not work and left with a unsafe feeling because our house is not being monitored by a security system who had made so wonderful promises in the beginning.

I have two accounts with this company and let me tell you they care ripping off their Innocent customers. If you want to get install it that’s fine but make sure you are not paying more than other customers for the same service. In my case I am paying 69$for one of my account and I know another customer paying 32$.

My second account contract was expired in 2016. When I called the call center to cancel the service due to higher premium, the agent told me that I have a valid contract till 2020. When I asked proof for the valid contract they sent me the expired contract. In a nutshell, very beware if you deal with this company. Keep all your paperwork and get everything thing in writing. Otherwise this company will cheat you.

Read the fine print, they never told us it was a 60 month contract!. You are committed to a five year contract and if the product or service does not work they will not allow you to break the contract without HUGE cancellation charges (2,265). The service is unreliable, the battery doesnt last long and the customer service is terrible.
The company is a joke, the glass censors didnt work when somebody was trying to open our downstairs window last week. I would not recommend Vivint.

I have had my Vivint account for 3 years, have had problems with Vivint since day one, cameras not working, glass break not working, the panel had to be reset, I have paid over $2000 for 3 years for this service, I tried to cancel but was not allowed to unless I paid the full amount on my account. Sooooo…. December 1,2018 my contract ended. I called every month for the last 9 months stating I want my account canceled, we sent 3 emails, October, November and December to [email protected] to cancel because that’s that they asked us to do. I even stopped payment in December….. but guess what they stil took money out December 27th and then again January 27th 2019.
I have been calling every week to let them know I want my money back I need a refund because we canceled our services I did my 3 years….. ohhhh and Vivint wanted to drop the price from 62.99 to 39.99 then to 29.99 then 6 months free and then pay $39.99 after 6 months free. I told them I don’t want service even if they offered me $.99 a month for the next 10 years. I want nothing to do with Vivint, I just want my money back. I’m ready to file charges and contact the global news so no one else has to go through the things I’m going though.
They Threaten me if I don’t pay, they will send it to collectins, but what about them???? I gave 3 months notice I want to cancel my services and they stole money from my bank account. That is a crime!!!
I’m on government money don’t get a lot in a month, and $62.99 is a lot of money. My son is a medical child I could use that money for extra supplies for my son.
I’m so upset over this, they keep sending us to one person to another person, we requested emails from them stating they will refund the money- but it will take 9-15 business days. Okay I have been waiting 3 months now. They just sent another email; I told them if I don’t get my money back by Tuesday I’m filing court documents, and contacting the news.
Also I paid 62.99 and they told me that they can only refund 58.00 because they don’t deal with taxes??? I paid 62.99 I want that back. Selfish maybe but I want back what I paid.
If I missed a payment or NSF they would take that $45 dollars from me in a heart beat. But won’t pay the takes on the amount I paid.
    I’m sooooo upset with Vivint!!!!

It works only 2% of the time. We had a break in and guess what…the cameras weren’t recording and the sensors batteries were basically dead.
$60 a month for no monitoring service? RIP off!
This system has to be rebooted weekly due to offline doorbell cameras and/or non recording cameras.
The 20 second clips stops recording even if the person is well within view. Burglars just wait 20 sec before accessing my home please. Smh…

We have had Vivint for almost 2 years. For over 1 year my cameras were not working most of the time. Numerous servicemen came to try to fix the problem. Each time someone new came they basically said it was not fixed the right way. Finally they moved the home panel which was placed in the wrong area of my house. It took a year to figure this out. Now I’m having problems with the door lock. I was told I could buy another one for for $ 179 and $ 40 for instillation. When purchased I was told all equipment was guaranteed. My thermostat hasn’t been working for a while. They sent a new one and it’s not working again. For almost 2 years there is always a problem. I should have called more often but I’m basically sick of it. Please fix this so it works as it is suppose to. I’m stuck with a five year contract.

The worst, most buggy system. My panel freezes every week. I’ve had over 10 notifications TODAY saying someone was outside and they’re not. The alarm currently doesn’t sound, but it’s still going off.

This system has not only cost me hundreds in police false alarm bills, but has also made me feel unsafe in my home. As a female who lived alone, I would never recommend this system.

These clowns came by multiple times and are trained well in pressure and deceptive sales techniques.
Stay far away and don’t believe a word they say. All lies and pressure sales
Would not take no as a answer, seriously 5-6 times no no no and kept saying same sales pitch
Very shady beware of these scammers

Do NOT get Vivint unless you really enjoy self torture. We’ve had massive issues with them over the duration of the contract we signed but most currently I am sitting at our house with our smoke detector going off and Vivint refusing to send a technician out because it ‘looks fine’ on their end. I have 3 animals at home stressed to the max because we can’t get it to stop beeping. The most they have offered is to mail us a different smoke detector that we then install ourselves. We’ve replaced the batteries and called them twice. I truly can imagine what this would be like if we had a baby or children in the house. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I’m not the type to write a bad review unless it’s something that is egregious and has been consistent. Vivint has been both. Save your money and your sanity and go with someone else. We will be once our contract is up.

I had requested a quote from the website and received a call to go over details over the phone. The person who called me transferred me to someone else to go over details instead of being the person that was going to discuss the details. The person that went over the details with me was pushy with trying to get me to sign up when I specifically said I was looking for a quote. When he had said he would schedule a tech to come out to go over everything with me and it won’t cost me a thing I agreed. After it was scheduled though he told me that there would be a $50 deposit that would need to be put on a card and it would be refunded if I do not go with them. When I said I need to think about it and will call back some other time, he hung up on me without so much as a bye or anything

If this is how their customer service treats their customer I would not sign up for it no matter how the cost is. I

Hard to understand how this company could somehow be worse than ADT. But it is. Hundreds of dollars spent for equipment that does not work. The company will not standby its installation. They charge $49 for every single service charge this despite the fact that you have just installed THEIR equipment and it doesn’t work.

I tried for several months to cancel my subscription. I was not under contract. It took for phone calls to do this! Each time they told me that my service was canceled, and then they went right on and charged me for another month.

Beware! This company is dishonest. They will tell you that they have canceled your service, but go right on charging you. It will take dozens of phone calls to cancel the service. Scam! Awful. I can’t say enough.

My 85 year old aunt, who lives alone and has a large No SOLICITING sign on her front door, unfortunately opened the door to a VIVINT salesman, thinking it was a relative who was arriving. He told her how much she needs a security system, how unsafe she is without one…and basically scared her into letting him call his installer. His installer started putting the system by her front door while she told them both that she enters and exits the house through her garage door and does not walk fast enough to turn it off at the front door. Neither would listen to her. While the system was being installed, she told the salesman she does not have internet, nor an email address. He told her that was fine, he would make up an email for her. She signed nothing while he was there and was told not to worry because if she was not satisfied with the system, it would be removed free of charge. She never once set the alarm and a little over a month later started calling Vivint to come and remove the system. They told her she will have to pay them well over $500 for the equipment or will have to continue to make the monthly payments until she pays for the equipment in full and meets her contract terms. She told them she never signed a contract and they said she did. She asked them to mail it to her and when it arrived we could both tell that they copied her signature (from her credit card). No 85 year old could write their name as small as they showed her signature to look on this contract. Several family members, including myself, have called Vivint to try to get them to take out this system and not charge her over $500 due to this fraudulent salesman. They always tell us they’re referring it to someone else (who is really in charge there???) and then when she calls she’s told if she doesn’t pay that huge fee for equipment they will refer her to the credit bureau. This of course scares her once again. This company is horrible. If you have an elderly friend or relative DO NOT let them deal with Vivint! I will not stop until I let everyone I know and everyone on the internet world know about this company that takes advantage of 85 year old women. I hope the salesman, Dylan, is happy with his $800 commission!!! Ugh!

Vivant is by far the worst company when it comes to fixing any devices or replacing them. As a customer I shouldn’t have to do all the labor while on the phone with customer service just to prove a device is defective. In the past i have recommended Vivant to many of my friends and family but after the experience I continue to have with them I will no longer support their services/products

It seems Vivint has a great sales pitch and that is where their greatness ends. Not quite a year into having the system and my cameras rarely, if ever work. I have spent HOURS on the phone with customer service to fix the issues. Not to mention they didn’t mention I had to buy an extra $300 for it to record constantly. So, the cameras only catch 30 seconds each time. Very annoying!!!!!

I was sold Vivint through Best Buy and had a one year contract on monitoring. I was told that when I purchased $1200 of Vivint cameras that it came with access to my videos through an app with or without monitoring. Not only was the installation poor, but after one year I cancelled the monitoring and they cancelled my access to my cameras through the app. When I called and was on for an hour and a half with customer service, for them to hang up on me after telling me I no longer will be allowed access to my cameras through an app because I no longer pay for monitoring. Thats not what Best Buy sold me and I was lied to and Vivint has customers who actually pay for only the video app and they said because I was a Best Buy customer and signed my contract during a certain month, I could not. Hate this company.

You don’t get what you pay for! The system fails in reliability!
I chose Vivint for its professionalism. Seemed to be a very high quality company. Sales and installation were very professional. But,,, sales failed to show some required/requested items. So, install price was higher than quoted. So far, unhappy but I can live with it.
Then on our first trip away, issues began. “Smart” assistant is unreliable and should be turned off (per service techs). Unreliable sensors and controllers. Multiple service calls (each take 1/2 to 1 hour of my time and on a ladder). Power failures render the system useless. Reboot usually causes failure of some component. I’m almost good enough now to repair without tech support help.
So, I can’t go on vacation and trust to leave it alarmed. Zero confidence.
Oh, if it makes you feel better, every tech puts on their compassionate voice and says “ I’m sorry”.

I bought my own equipment at best buy. No contract. I moved and they refuse to cancel. Credit card company stopped payment but they are still coming after me. They have record of me asking to cancel in June 2018. It’s Feb 2019 they are still trying to charge me. I’m not going to pay for a service that didn’t work anyway, and I moved, and I cancelled.

Absolutely regret buying this service. Not only has the system not worked properly since I’ve gotten it, Vivint has told me I have to pay off the system before I can even cancel the account! I’ve told them they can come get it and they insist on telling me that the equipment that doesn’t work ($900+) is mine to keep. Remind you that you can only use the equipment through Vivint and no other service! I’ve talked to customer service numerous of times they tell me the same routine to reset, reboot, unplug and a month or so later the same problems are happening again. DO NOT USE THIS SECURITY COMPANY, I DONT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE!

Military beware. I’m now on month 4 of trying to get my account cancelled due to my PCS overseas. Talked to a rep each time, provided my orders, and still getting charged over 50 bucks a month. This is the last time before I report them to BBB for not following their own military clause.

problem with capturing, missing recorded times of movement, but records what i didn’t need. called several times, they could never figure out what was wrong. Cancellation sucks, I called before they said it was to soon to cancel, then when i cancelled they said i had another payment because they said they need 30 days time,…people are okay there, but don’t go on contract, better off buying your own alarm system or a cheaper one.

WOW! Where do I start? We had this system for 3 1/2 years of a 3 year contract. The doorbell never worked, we didn’t realize that if you call for service, they will charge you for the service call. We had an additional 3 cameras installed and a couple were constantly offline and needing to reboot even with wifi extenders. The panel periodically malfunctioned and had to reboot. Very frustrating when you are in a hurry to leave and have to wait a few minutes for it to reboot. Also, I guess I should’ve read in the contract that the cameras are extra charge monthly to monitor. I thought it was for the equipment itself we were paying for and (ass)umed after our contract was fulfilled that our bill would’ve went down to monitoring the house only and not be charged for the camera monitoring??? Whatever…Do yourself a favor and go with a company that will monitor your house only for less. Go buy a separate camera unit with DVR and monitor your own cameras. Oh, I almost forgot, we also had to upgrade our internet speed so it can handle the system (an added extra cost also) Lesson learned here!

I was upset from the very first day when they drilled a HUGE hole in my wall (in my NEW house) that no one told me was going to happen when my husband decided to buy it from the sales man at our door. I decided to give them a chance and thought it might be worth it. NO playbacks NO recording Horrible sound quilty at door bell AND lags. And everytime we NEEDED to a recording … i would look back at the “CLIPS” and there was no recordings!! I called Vivint to see if they could somehow retrieve it but the said no. They did some troubleshooting and “fixed” the problem ….. uhh well thats great but that doesnt help me see who was knocking at my door at 12am at NIGHT!! We have cancelled them and warn everyone to stay FAR AWAY and go some where with a better RING to their name

    HORRIBLE
It has not worked correctly since day one
Cameras never stay connected battery won’t charge

You have to threaten them with canceling service to get any real help
It took three attempts just to get the equipment we ordered installed

My Panel won’t stay connected So they send a Tech out who says it can’t communicate with my network properly Because it’s too far away I said to him my house 1500 ft² what if I had a house that was 4000 ft² had no answer They had to install repeaters just to get my exterior cameras to work it is literally 15 ft away from my router
    Garbage. run! do not buy!

Thank God we cancelled before installation. The sales person was a very young college kid who promised to buy the ADT contract and never did. The moment he left the door I received an email invoice for $2466/- financed by Citione payments for 60 months. I did not let them install and I will take them to court if necessary for any harassment.

I’m so glad I didn’t get service with this company…. it’s almost like they are scammers—-service representatives gives misleading and misguided information…. poor understanding to the customer… they get loan through citi bank after doing a credit check with your social security number… so you are paying them and the bank for their security system equipment…. BEWARE-they are not whom they say….

    New Dissatisfied Customer

My experience was the worst ever. This company seemed like a mom and pop shop. Sales guy came to my home on MLK day Monday, we agreed because he said they can install same day as he had tech sitting around. That did not happen, they said they would be out at 4:30 on Tuesday, he came and about halfway through the install the tech told me he didnt have any of my cameras. He said he would get them Wednesday morning and come back at 4:30 Wednesday to install the cameras. The tech no showed, I called and texted him numerous times and no answer. I texted the sales guy and he said they would be out Thursday and he didnt. I had to take off work early 3 times in order to meet tech, lost almost 3 hours of pay and it was all for nothing. I called customer service Thursday to see what time they would be at my home, he said I was scheduled for Friday morning at 10 am which no one told me about, I told manager I talked to that wasnt gonna work as I was still at work, he said he can have tech at my house at 4pm so I left work early again and tech didnt show up til almost 6 pm, i called customer service back at about 4:15 to see where tech was and ended up staying on the phone for almost an hour. The first tech was friendly but did a shabby job, left piles of wood shavings on my floor, left holes in my stucco after he installed my doorbell, did not clean up my porch from what they drilled. The second tech was awesome his name was Dustin V, he was the only bright spot of my experience it stil I’ll took him about 2 1/2 hours to complete. Horrible experience, would go with a different company if you can.
