  • Nationwide availability: Vivint is available in all 50 states so customers all around the nation have access to its products and services.
  • Multiple equipment options and automation features: With Vivint’s base security package, customers receive a touchscreen control panel, a smoke detector, a door/window sensor, a motion detector, and a key fob. The key fob can be used to arm or disarm the system without having to enter the home. Additional equipment is also available, including recessed door sensors, glass break detectors, flood/freeze sensors, carbon monoxide detectors, tilt sensors, small appliance controls, doorbell cameras, smart thermostats, panic pendants, and more.
  • Lifetime warranty: Vivint offers a lifetime equipment warranty on all of its home security and home automation devices, which covers both defective parts and normal wear and tear. This warranty applies for as long as you are a paying Vivint customer.
  • Remote access via mobile app: Access the entire control panel with the Vivint Sky mobile app. It allows customers to arm and disarm their security system, view and record live video feeds from the doorbell camera, lock and unlock doors, control the temperature of their home, and more. Customers also receive instant alerts if door or garage door sensors are triggered.  The application even integrates voice control capabilities using Amazon Echo.
  • 60 month contract: Customers are required to agree to a 5 year contract, which is longer than the industry average. If a customer would like to end their contract with Vivint before the term is over, they are required to pay off the remaining contract balance in full.
  • Expensive rates: Monthly monitoring rates start at $39.99/month and go up from there. There are several competing home security companies that do not charge any upfront fees and have lower monthly rates.
  • Customer service complaints: Former and current Vivint customers have complained of deceptive sales tactics, poor customer service, poor billing practices and slow technician response.
  • Our recommendation: With a 60 month contract and high monthly monitoring fees, we recommend a more affordable and flexible option such as Frontpoint Security and Protect America,

This system has NOT worked properly since we first purchased it. We have had to call customer service numerous times for them to try to fix the system and they have never fixed it. When it was first Installed they did NOT install all the components we paid for. Had to call back and reschedule for them to install ALL the equipment that we ordered. Customer service is completely useless they try to make the consumer repair the item over the phone without threatening to charge a service fee. The app NEVER works properly. I had a smoke detector go off a few days ago and because there was a glitch on the panel (which there is ALWAYS something wrong with it) the panel was not charging and disconnected the emergency responders call. He then had to call my husband at work WHO WAS NOT HOME to confirm the house was NOT burning down and he is NOT suppose to get calls at work yet miraculously he did answer during work. The thermostat NEVER works properly. Had a $200 electric bill thanks to Vivint not explaining the settings on the panel I called customer service and all they tried to do was pressure me into signing a 48 month contract to get an upgrade panel they wouldn't even offer a free service to our system to confirm over the next 30 day cancellation period that they require to ensure our system was working properly during that required 30 day cancelation period.Read More

It seems Vivint has a great sales pitch and that is where their greatness ends. Not quite a year into having the system and my cameras rarely, if ever work. I have spent HOURS on the phone with customer service to fix the issues. Each time I have the system fixed, another camera goes down, or my personal favorite, none of them record or allow playback. DO NOT purchase this system, it is not reliable.Read More

Military family that moved and they did not honor the military clause in their advertising. I followed their instructions after notification and they put the account in collections without informing me. Horrible customer service and horrible products! Run from this company as fast as you can!

They are horrible. Equipment is not that problem but you could get the same for much less. The problem is the iron-clad contract. Like if 5 yrs is not crazy enough…when the time is up you have to request cancellation in hand written letter and it has to be submitted a month before the actual end of your contract or you automatically get sucked into another 5 yr contract. They suck! And any upgrade they try to get you into another 5yr contract…what the heck! They have horrible customer service and only seem to make a living by enslaving families to pay them monthly if theyre not careful for the rest of their lives. You would never expect a company to be set up that way so its possible to come in to it blindly and get sucked into supporting such a horrible company.

Billing – Continued to charge me even after they confirmed the account was closed. Had to keep calling in as their sales teams informed me that they could not help.

Cancellation of Service – What a joke. The amount of loopholes to go through to cancel this was offensive.

Guarantee/Warranty – Products started failing less than a year into the contract, refused to replace. After a few months, sensors were not working correctly and was told I would have to pay premium to have a tech go out and adjust (they did not do this correctly the first time they were out).

Product/Service – Overpriced accessories for system and was not that great to begin with. Cameras were not that great at night and photo quality was meh. (I’m on a 100mb ISP).

Customer Service – Chat on website for Billing never has worked for me. Always tells me that there are no sales people online. Phone wait time is average 15 to 30 minutes. Multiple redirects to get anything done. Average talk time is well over 30 minutes and they always have to put me on hold and talk to someone else.

The terms aren’t clear. There’s a lot of doubletalk if you try to get out. How can $30 less per month with no additional “contract” and upgrade on equipment be possible? Because they charge an exorbitant amount for the equipment which they finance through your credit and you have to pay for 60 months more! Unless of course you just buy the equipment outright. Go to ADT much more honest!

We have had Vivint for a year and I love it the equipment works good I can pull up my cameras anytime and I can see what’s going on there may have been an issue with my wi fi a time or two but not with the vivint equipment and when I called them those couple of times they stayed on the phone til my cameras were right. But my fiancé recently decided to look into other companies when we realized initially we were told our bill would be 75 dollars a month for a year then go to 49 at a month cuz that was when the equipment would be paid for but when he called a few days ago he was informed that it is actually 5 years before the bill will go down. I don’t know who he will switch to but unless they are really good I will miss the vivint equipment and their good customer service they have when I call them.

I acquired my Vivint service by way of a “con” door-to-door sell job. Fraud by a 3rd party. I had no time to research security cameras as I thought I was getting “a good deal” when I fell for this. The price is outrageous, $65/month for 3.5 years (I would have never done this had I known up front what the terms were, as no paperwork was left with me upon sign-up. I was told it was a free special offer – yeah, I know!). But that was in January 2017. The first year I though the doorbell camera operated “ok’. The picture was not blurry or degraded. During the past few months, the operation of the camera is marked deteriorated. I no longer know when the doorbell camera will work or not. A few months ago I called Vivint customer service and complained. They said I needed a software upgrade. They stated the way the doorbell camera works with the update is different than the way it used to work. They also told me the problems with the doorbell camera would resolve when I upgraded to the newest release. The problems have not gone away. The picture is horrible. It’s blurry at distances. I have pictures on the first year 4th of July that were clear showing us going into the street and shooting fireworks. If you walked up to the door, it picked you up. That is not the case since the software upgrade. I hate the camera. It’s horrible. It’s not work $65/month anymore. What a rip-off. It doesn’t notify you if someone rings the bell anymore. I’ve worked with them several times. I think it’s a mis-match of software and out-dated equipment. This company needs to change it’s practices on how they deal with customers. I wrote to the attorney general after getting ripped-off the first year. I heard nothing. In January 2019, I have to pay and content with this sham of product for another 1.5 years.

System works good as far as getting emergency service response (when monitoring subscription is in place).

However, if you use internal door locks or garage controller and have guest in your house with limited access – they can lock/unlock or open the garage just by walking to the alarm panel and clicking the button – not good. This is a major flaw on this system.

For instance, my wife and I do Airbnb at the house. Thru the Vivint app we can create limited access guess/users to arm or disarm the system, it is easy to do even thru the app on our phones. However, when the panel is in disarm mode it shows the option to unlock internal door locks and to open the garage controller without any restrictions.

So, if you use internal door locks and/or the garage controller to prevent unauthorized access to certain rooms within your house…. and believe that a limited guess with no access can not open those locks or garage door….think again!! They can open them by simply walking to the panel when is in disarm mode and “touch” the unlock button for the door lock or garage controller.

This makes the system a waste of money, in my case.

Now, i have to unpair door locks and garage opener from the Vivint panel (hint – waste of money) and link the door locks and garage opener to my Smart things controller were I can control 100% who can unlock a door lock, and who can have access to open my garage door.

    Hope this help!

WORST company EVER – my system intermittently worked off and on over the past several months – they would not do anything to resolve the issue. Finally 2 nights ago and over 2 hours on the phone fighting them they agreed to send a technician out. He said he fixed it, but it did not record him leaving, so I called him back and he came back – reviewed the footage and started calling the IT support. He finally suggested that they replace the panel and doorbell – tech on the phone (apparently didn’t know he was on speaker phone) kept telling the tech at my house not to replace the system, it’s not the system it was THEM, there is a “bug” in their system that won’t be fixed until the earliest February 2019, maybe later, he suggested that they give me a $25 credit – I said get this out of my house. Don’t waste your time, or your money – it doesn’t work!!!

Run as fast as you can away from Vivint.Beware of their sales tactics and do not make any long term contracts if you do go with them(which I highly do not suggest). If you are a current Viint customer and you have to cancel due to selling your home or whatever be aware that they will tell you you must pay off the contract or go to collections.NO ifs ands or buts to it.They have no concern for anything but the money.True it is a business, but greed abounds here.If you are a current customer DO NOT –I REPEAT DO NOT agree to anything on the phone as they supposedly record everything.I have to cancel my contract due to selling my home. They stated that I would have to pay them for 17 months(over $900)to cancel the contract or try to get the buyer to assume the contract..SAY WHAT!” I do not recall being told this over the phone.
Just be aware that Vivint will want any and all monies irregardless. They do not care about anything but the money.Greedy people. If you have any choice whatsoever then avoid anyone having to do with Vivint at all.If they come to your door then slam the door in their face.If you are already a customer please take to heart what has just been said about cancelling as it will cost you big time if you have remaining months on your so called contract.PLUS remember agree to nothing on the phone with one of their sales people you will be screwed over.

Horrible company to deal with. The worse customer service I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. By far the worse managed company going, bunch of crooks.
I got locked into a 5 year contract and tried to get out of it. I ended up paying these crooks over $800 to leave me alone. That was back in May and I thought I was done with them. Now at the end of Sept they stole almost $90 from my bank account for a service that doesn’t exist. I phoned them and they say it will take 3-5 business days to get back into my account. How many times does this go unnoticed, how many people do they rob daily? Vivint, I should be able to penalize you $1000 dollars a day until the money is back I’m my account just due to your incompetence.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF.

Worse service I have ever had next to Sprint, so bad in fact I think that they are owned by the same board. Products do not work as indicated service is inconsistent, I have had this service for ten months and it has operated correctly for maybe three. Every time they come out they charge a $49 trip fee after 5 visits and it my cameras are still offline, I give up!!!!!

What a horrible 6 years of my life. They locked us into this never ending contract that was EXPENSIVE. The price reduced when I moved to a new house, but only because the house was also smaller. They charged me a $100 fee for moving. Fine, I knew I was stuck in this contract so whatever. Next move they want another $100. Now, fast forward to the end of my contract, I call them because I am actually dumb enough to want to see what it would take to get a price reduction and keep them on a little longer. They say that now I need all new equipment and that they have to charge me now for equipment at $850! I already have equipment! But they say it is now obsolete (although they were supporting it before I called), and that I have to pay to upgrade my own system after paying them their monthly fees for 6 YEARS. If this isn’t illegal business practices it should be. Don’t waste your money getting wrapped up in shady contracts with this company. They are horrible and there are better prices, service, and equipment elsewhere. They should be shut down.

This company deserves zero stars. I sold my home 15 months ago and your company still keeps charging my account. My new home was built and included with a system from ADT wth all the bells and whistles and the customer service has been exceptional. I was able to also just sign a one year contract. your company wants me to pay over 1k to cancel my service which I have not used in over 15 months just shameful your business practices are like this I should have read the reviews before signing anything its all there.

We signed up for Vivint in October of 2018! Since then it is has been a nightmare. Nothing has worked, as promised! We installed a driveway camera, a doorbell camera, two thermostats, upstairs and downstairs, glass break sensor, and motion detectors. The driveway camera goes offline nearly every single day! On the app, it has gone up to 35 days without being able to reboot and give an up-to-date image of what is actually in our drive. The clips that are saved tell us that it has recorded 30 seconds of video; however, when clicked on the video clip is 4 seconds, 5 seconds, may 10, at best. They are never 30 seconds in entirety. And they only work when the camera is online, which is sporadic, at best! The doorbell camera did the exact same thing. Something was actually stolen off of our porch and nothing was picked up by the camera, at all. In fact, the camera quit working in March of 2018, and after many many many phone calls and waiting for hours on hold and promises of a tech coming or calling to fix it, someone finally came on September 17th! It never took a video or picture from March until September 17th! The thermostats quit working on the app all the time and we have to actually use the ones on the wall. Getting in touch with someone at customer service is a joke. I have actually set off my alarm three times just to get someone to answer quicker. That was after being on hold for over an hour, each time! Then “they” were appalled I would do something like that! I have been hung up on four times, because I have argued with them about wanting out of my contact for their equipment not working and their customer service being so awful. They said I have to call in monthly to make sure it does work! What?!?! Isn’t that their job….I pay you for that, right?! We were told at signing that we could move and the move of our system would be free, we are now being told that moving will cost us $300+, a few for removal of system and a fee for new set up of system at the new home. “Our policy changed” is their excuse…even though that is not what I had signed up for!

At this point, I would love to be out of my contract and done with this company. I would not recommend them to anyone, ever! Even setting off our alarm we did not get an adequate response time! It took more than 5 minutes for someone to call….you will be paying for junk! Your house will burn down….theives will be gone….and you will not know who is coming or going anyway! Zero reason to have it!

Also….trying to get something to prove that we have an alarm for our home owners insurance is a joke…they will not speak to your insurance company, and they will not provide accurate paperwork that shows you have an alarm system. You will not get the discount!

    Do. Not. Get. This. System!

As we began our process looking for a new security system, Vivint seemed very promising. They had the allure of updated technology and easy to use systems. As we have used our system, however, we have come to find out it is quite the opposite. At the beginning of our process we were told by our installer that we would be able to cancel this service if we were not satisfied at any point in time. What we were not told, however, is that these installers are just saying what they can to get us, the consumer, to sign on the dotted line! From the moment we signed we have had nothing but issues. Our main control panel frequently glitches, and has even started creating false alarms (which included calling the police, twice!) without even setting off a single alarm at our house. It was essentially hitting a panic button that we were unaware of. After 30 minutes on the phone with the company, they reset the service and fixed the glitch. This is not the first time this glitch has happened, and no one seems remotely apologetic about the problem or the lengthy phone call times we have endured. I would say we have called Vivint around a dozen times with problems and at no point in time has a phone call been under 30 minutes. Their service is about as unapologetic as it gets, and we are feeling stuck with this company. I am not writing this as another upset customer, I am writing this as someone who is truly trying to enlighten those looking for a good security company to not sign with someone who locks you in to expensive contracts with no recourse for their faulty equipment. Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!

Be careful when dealing with this company. We moved and closed on our house during a family emergency. When I realized we hadn’t called Vivint to let them know we moved, I called to cancel my service. They convinced me to “defer” my account while deciding if I wanted it at the new home with reassurance no billing would occur. A couple weeks later I receive a message from the new owners of our home that the alarm triggered and they had no way to disarm it. The police arrived as well as a loud alarm going off at their home. I called Vivint again very upset that the system was still on! They refused to turn it off since I was on a deferment plan!!! I told them they needed to cancel my service, which I had to write an email and then wait a few days for the service to be shut off. Ridiculous! Fast forward and I realize they charged me for 2 months at a home I no longer lived at! I called customer service to ask them to refund my account and I was passed around and spoken down to the entire time! I was told my billing cycle was on the 10th and I called on the 5th to defer my account which takes 5-7 business days. Since that went into my new billing cycle, I was charged the full amount and no prorated amount would be refunded! I have never heard of that from a company providing service. I went around and around to get the next month refunded and had to keep asking for a manager. They told me a cancellation of service has to be on file for 30 days before it cancels, so again no refund. I explained that the reason for the cancellation was because they refused to turn off my old system, in a home I no longer owned, with new home owners and a system that went off and they couldn’t turn off! After being jerked around by many customer service representatives, I finally was passed on to a manager who used a very good tactic of shutting me down and moving the call along. It was a very unpleasant experience and I am still out money. Be careful. They do not have their stuff together and are ridiculous to work with!

Vivint has refused to refund my money – which they continued to take out of my account – long after I cancelled my service when I moved. When I cancelled by phone I was NEVER notified that I needed to provide my cancellation in writing. Vivint is refusing to listen to their “quality assurance” recording to verify my complaint. They offered me multiple upgrades if I would use them as my home secure provider in my new location. They even stopped debitting my account for 2 months after I cancelled. Then they started the automatic debit again.
They refuse to let me speak with a manager.
They refuse to provide me with a refund.
This company is highly unethical and distrustful.
I am STILL waiting to speak to someone with authority to compensate me.

After having Vivint in my home for 10 years with outdated sensors, Vivint wanted to charge me for replacement. Talkin to customer service, being hung up and transferred from person to person. Nobody seemed to know what they were talking about. Finally decided to cancel with Vivint. Promised one month credit, being though I cancelled on the 3rd of the month. Never was credited the amount! I would not have bought the system if I knew how not user friendly it was. You can only download up to five minutes of clips from your space monkey. It can only be done from the app and not on your computer. You can’t playback video on your computer only your phone from the app. If you need to get it to the police or someone that need to do an investigation, you can only send it to yourself via email or text, then send or save it to your computer. I was told I could do certain things with the system and two months later it’s discontinued. I was told I could do certain thins with the system, like extract files from the space monkey from my computer, but was told the site was discontinued.

Do not waste your money or time with this company!! I’ve had vivint for a year and the system has worked maybe 5% of the time. Their software is terrible, always has bugs, and simply doesn’t work. You have to be home at your panel to call and troubleshoot- and you spend about an hour on the phone each time – just for it to go down within a day or 2. The people at vivint are great- nice- seem to be knowledgeable- so they have good customer service BUT customer service means nothing if a security product does not work and does not protect your home. It’s extremely expensive and you are locked into a long contract that you can’t get out of even though it’s their equipment and software that doesn’t work. I wish I had done more research before falling for their sales pitch.

This company is very bad for pricing and care for customer service, They were charging 39.99 for moving from one house to another then they went to 129.99. When I called to schedule it was the 39.99 but when they came the price had increased and that what they wanted to charge me.If there is a problem with your system they will keep you on the phone for a hour trying to fix it rather then sending someone out to fix it. Can’t wait to to end the contract. ADT is much better.

We’ve had Vivint for over 3 years. We’ve had issues with the doorbell and camera from the beginning and are now having issues with the front door lock. Have made multiple calls to tech support and had to present an argument every time against being charged for tech visit to come out and repair the problems. Seriously, we’ve had the “Please Knock. Doorbell not Working” sign up more over the past three years than the doorbell itself has worked. My husband has battled cancer over the past two years and having to call in to a tech service dept to be put on hold and argue why we shouldn’t have to pay for the tech coming out was more than I was capable of handling at times. So, the sign went up. Finally fed up, called to cancel the service and was offered the option of buying out remaining 15 months of selling it to someone. Who would sell a horrible system and service contract to even an acquaintance? Not us. Or we could buy out the remaining 15 months. They were willing to remove the cost of the problematic doorbell and camera as a kind gesture. Give me a break! Waiting for them to email me a copy of our contract. I will have an attorney review it and get us out of the contract. Because I would rather pay legal fees than to give Vivint another penny!!!!

Previous owners cancelled the service, but did not have the company remove the alarm. The alarm continually goes off. This company will not remove the alarm. Customer service is one of the worst I have ever dealt with, with a company. They are unorganized, uninformed, and rude.

I purchased the home security service in April of 2017. By July 2017, there were pieces of the door and window sensors that would fall off and cause an alert. We called Vivint and there was not much that they did for us. By August we were fed up with the system and turned it off. I tried to cancel the service after a year of non-use and Vivint is requiring us to pay off the faulty equipment before they would discuss cancellation fees. They would not accept the equipment back, so now we are stuck with expensive garbage sticking to our doors, windows and wall. Buyer beware of this company.

IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS…WATCH OUT!!
This company sucks! I rarely leave reviews but be careful. They want you to go through an hour or more of troubleshooting on the phone before they send out help. The customer service is the worst that’s if you can wait an hour to speak with someone. Then they want to charge you for changing out your old system and start to have problems with theirs. The system works ok but the company is NOT WORTH THE MONEY – OVERATED

First, pressure through scare tactics to a widow living alone, second, different inputs on what would happen when attempting to cancel, third, very difficult to obtain help through the help web site, 4th, was told someone would come get equipment and credit would be issued after it was paid off but then after paying off was told they would not come get it nor issue a credit for it. Would not recommend to anyone!

My home flooded in 2016. I was unable to live in my home for over a year. All equipment was lost as was everything thing else I owned.I contacted Vivint explained I about the flood and that my area was deemed a natural disaster and that I needed to to have my services temporarily put on hold since I can not use the service until I can rebuild. They were not willing to work me nor did they even offer to try to replace the equipment. Every other service company worked with me while I was rebuilding my life.

I was very, very wary of selecting Vivint based on the customer service reviews. Granted, most security companies have been ratings and people rarely take time to post good ratings. However, in the end, I love the Vivint product line . . . so I took a chance and called today. I spoke to a customer service rep named Savon, who said he was a manager also. It was a great call and we talked through completely our needs and setup a package for us. I inquired about the report of getting charged for each service visit. Savon assured me that practice no longer happens. I was super impressed by my first interaction. I was very upfront that the major reason I was debating using Vivint was ALL the complaints about customer service. I hope the good start continues through installation and support. For now, they impressed me. Maybe I am lucky. Maybe they are changing their ways. Maybe it is because I am a new customer. Savon gave me his email and cell and said to call if I have ANY problems. I will use that ace if I need to. I am sorry others are having awful experiences, but their products and technology are first-rate. I know there are a ton of bad reviews, but I took a chance today and was pleasantly surprised by their customer service.

I was moving from Connecticut to Tennessee and a week before we started the move I called and set up the appointment for Monday Sept 10th at 9 am to have the alarm system installed, no one showed up so I called them and was told it was canceled because they stopped servicing my area, I had brought all my valuables down knowing they would be safe instead when I went back to Connecticut for the second load I had to bring my valuables back with me because no one at giving took the time to call me and tell me they stopped servicing the area, they were fast to take the money. I would not get off the phone until I was reimbursed. Stay away

first: they got me to sign the contract by letting me believe I could cancel at any time!
the system kept going off line, after 6 months the smoke detector went out and I had to spend 25 minutes of my time on the phone with a representative who asked me how many seconds were in between chirps on the detector.. she needed that to figure out what the problem was. then the main control box kept going off line and the doorbell camera was off line more than it was on line… in the six months I had service I don’t think the door bell camera worked on the app for more than a week at the time. Long wait times on the phone when trying to reach them. representatives are not willing to make it right for the Customer. I finally got to talk to a manager who convinced me on getting a technician out to my house to see what the problem was with my control box and then he said ” he would cancel my contract”. He was supposed to follow up with me and to this day he has not, however, I continue to get calls from their billing dept!!

I was quoted one price and billed several hundred dollars more because the installation tech said the quoted price did not include an upgrade that was requested. The equipment went down often and required constant system reboots. After cancelling the monitoring, they do not provide any service in the event the equipment breaks, even though it is still under warranty. I would not recommend Vivint to anyone, ever.

DO NOT CHOOSE VIVINT! READ THE FINE PRINT. IF THEY COME IN AND REMOVE THEIR PRODUCT FROM YOUR HOME, THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR RE-INSTALLING YOUR OWN DOORBELL BACK.
THE PERSON THAT INSTALLED THE DOORBELL TO MY HOME DAMAGED MY ORIGINAL DOORBELL. VIVINT SAYS THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE.

I have been working with the event for 4 years. I sold my home a year ago. I contacted Vivint to cancel my service.

I was told the contract would not be canceled but we could transfer the contract to CO.

Vivint put me on a six month deferment until we moved to CO.

Today Vivint took money out of my account for a service that is not and cannot be provided. They will be taking a total of $975 from me and my family for the next year.

So I called Vivint request they reconsider their decision. They said no. I told Vivint I will pay the remainder of the contract because they will report me as not having integrity for not paying Vivint for services not recieved.

Oh I did check CO. I did not find any licenses issued to Vivint.

    Be careful.

Our doorbell camera was offline every other week, had technicians come out but they never really fixed the actual problem, just provided “Band-Aid” solutions. When we moved out of our house and my husband and I had to move into new apartments in separate states due to the military and work, they wouldn’t even attempt to work with us to cancel our service. We had to call several times to even get an initial contact for the “special cancellations” team. After several emails back and forth they told us we were stuck in our contract and had to either pay the rest of the contract (over $2600) or continue the service which was in our house we had already sold…so now we have to coordinate with the new owners to have Vivint pick up the equipment as they don’t want Vivint. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE unless you want to be locked into a 5 year contract that you literally CANNOT cancel.

Vivint is the worse security company that I have had in the last 15 years. They continuously try to tack on late charges, and harass you on the phone multiple times a day, even though you have proved to them you are up to date with your payments. I paid a month in advance, and they still insisted I owed them more than I did. They also will not let you out of the contract, even though they are your security provider, but try and rip you off with charges. who is the thief? They took away the ability to adjust my sensitivity on my camera’s, saying that it was crashing their servers. Now you have to almost bump the camera before it starts recording. We pay the high price to have these camera’s record what is going on around the house, and now they don’t record nothing. Useless. Customer service completely sucks, period. They love to argue, and will not help you with your issue. Might as well talk to the wall, and get used to waiting for the contract time to expire, and get another company with higher ratings.

I wish I never left ADT. I had ADT for years, just the panel, motion detector and window and door sensors. I was attracted to Vivint because of their seemingly “advanced technology “ door bell camera with speaker, HD camera surrounding the home. Digital door lock with code and remote access. The nest thermostat In which I can control my home temperature remotely as well. They even gave us 2 google home mini so we can control our home with our voice. Needless to say it all sounds amazing IF it works. The panel constantly disconnects from WiFi, which means we don’t have access to any of those features. Ours camera will not stream. I doubled my bill switching to Vivint with less than half the service. I now have less service AND a 5 year contract…… be very cautious if you choose to select Vivint

One last thing, Vivint has a racial charged discrimination law suit, where employees have been called the n worrd.Barricades were made in office stating “white only. The offending staff have been “displined” and one was fired. The previous employee that was subjected to this is out of a job. I will be canceling my contract. Anyone who does not agree with racism should not support this company

The equipment worked for the first year or so, which began in August of 2016. From late 2017 till present I have had continuous equipment issues. The cameras are always going offline, the main panel is constantly losing the wifi signal (nothing wrong with internet), now the panel is also making a loud noise every 30 secs and can’t be turned off. The list goes on. Vivint refuses to cancel the contract even though they are not providing the services they promised, yet are receiving payment every month. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!

Moving. New owners insisted they keep the equipment. Vivint wrote a letter releasing us. We had planned for them to come to our new home. They did not make it to the scheduled appointment . When called, they could not find the new address where they were supposed to be. ADT came by, offered equal products for less monthly, plus 2 years less contract. Vivint now not releasing us from the home we no longer own- even though in writing they said they would- and telling us we owe them 600 plus dollars. They screwed up! Not us! BE AWARE!!!!!!
