For only $19.95 a month, customers can receive a full array of home security devices, including motion sensors, security cameras, touchscreens, and glass-break sensors. Each Ackerman security system is custom-built to ensure the client’s specific home security needs are being completely addressed. Ackerman provides a free consultation to help give customers an idea of the system requirements before they have to buy.

Home Automation

Ackerman also provides a number of impressive home automation options you can add to your security system including door sensors, wireless monitoring, various detectors, and other security equipment. Customers can arm/disarm their systems, control locks, thermostats, and lights, receive text and email notifications, and even view live video surveillance camera footage all through Ackerman’s mobile app.

In addition to building custom home security and automation systems, Ackerman Security systems provides professional monitoring service for burglars, fire situations, and medical emergencies. All systems have the option for broadband internet monitoring, which can be either a handy backup or less intrusive alternative to traditional landline monitoring.

    I would like to say thank you to Mr. Louis J of Ackerman Security, he made me an d my wife’s experience extremely pleasurable and didn’t try to sell us on something we didn’t need. He professionalism during his visit with us was top notch. We were just looking for a quote on switching companies only and came away with signing a contract for upgrading our existing system at a cheaper price. His dedication to customer service was second to none..My wife and I would definitely refer friends and family to the Ackerman family. Thank you again Mr. Louis J!

    I was never told I was signing a contract but that if I wanted to cancel I could still use system well I canceled and alarm no longer works just keeps giving a communication errot

    Sorry for the first review, some of my windows sensors stop working. Soon they send a
    Nice technician and he did a wonderful job! He explained everything to me and replaced some of the sensors’. I highly recommend Ackerman Security Systems.

    After multiple visits to my home my issue remains unresolved. On the fourth visit and they still not arrived on time. Another day waiting for their repair service. Beyond disgusted with this company and once a week until my contact ends I will blast this company for extremely poor customer service through every social media avenue I can find. Consumers beware. Do not use this company. You will be sorry and they won’t care because you will be required to pay the full remaining balance of the contract if you cancel.

    09/26/2016 at 2AM I arrived to my home and my house had been burglarized. Before I even entered the home the alarm was going off. Once I had got inside the alarm was going off and I entered my passcode then the alarm stated “intrusion reported.” Cut on the lights in my room and quickly realized my house was robbed of almost every valuable item that I owned. The burglars entered through a window and then opened my glass sliding door for the rest of their friends. I have mounted TV’s in my home. These men had time to unmount televisions, steal all sorts of elections and was able to get all of this out through my backyard through a gate. It took 2 men to struggle to even carry my 60 inch television upstairs nonetheless mount it and these men had enough time to clear my home of multiple tvs, gaming systems and electronics. The alarm company NEVER called the police. My alarm was on for HOURS and they NEVER called the police nor notified me my alarm had gone off. I know the alarm was on for hours because my entire 2 story home was covered in bugs from beetles, silverfish, mosquito hawks, nasty cockroaches, to crickets etc. from the window and glass door being open for so many hours. They broke in on a Sunday night. A night that normally my 8 year old daughter and I would have been home. I work at home for a living and I almost NEVER leave my home the likelyhood if this happening on a Sunday night while we were in our beds sleeping is tremendously high. Had I not decided to go out of town we would have been home for this nightmare. The worse part is knowing had we been here the alarm company wouldnt of had our back. We wouldve been stuck in this home with these men with no one to call the police. The alarm company claims they never received a signal. When I called 911 it took them less than 10 mins to get to my house. Had the alarm company done their job there is no way these burglars wouldve had SOOO much time to clear my entire home of items I worked hard for and couldve possibly been caught.The manager stated she was going to get back with the Account Manager on compensation and ofcourse you all never cared to call me back no more than you cared for our safety. I had to request a technician MYSELF to see what was wrong with your system and he stated the first technician who setup my home didnt entirely install everything I needed for a functional alarm system. As we speak im still on a contract, a paying customer and my alarm still doesnt work!!

    The most unprofessional service I have ever received. The tech showed up when I wasn’t home. Ironically my friend was over and told the tech to come back. The tech then proceeded to communicate to me through my friend instead of calling me directly. Long story short, came home to see the system installed and no one knew what was the master code or security code that the tech set up. Cancelling Ackerman ASAP!!!!!

    My home was broken into I call Ackman security and the salesman signed me up sold me I didn’t understand locked me in for 3 years as a senior citizens I can keep up the payment but I can’t cancel for another years and half they will’m or lower my payment or will they work with me I hate Ackman security

    I paid for an expensive system on a three year contract with Ackerman. Their business model can be summed up as: “sell hard; hide as many costs as possible; drive revenue for your service business; deliver cheap customer service; give reasonable support to your customers ONLY when they threaten to quit service or sue.” Every little aspect of our system requires am $80 service visit. I hate this company.

    You started with 1 order and then instead of modifying that order created another one – Got email for Monday installation between 8 to 10, nobody came and after we called were advised Tuesday- 2 onwards

    I called the day after a service call because the original problem had not been solved and the technician said it may be low battery but I had 10 days to schedule another visit to replace the batteries or I would have to pay the service fee again $89.95 for half hour. I call the next day, spoke with a rude customer service rep who said the earliest slot would be after the 10 days. I said that was unacceptable and she put me on hold. After 40 minutes I hung up and called back, got a different rep who told me that is the only date available but I may be able to speak with a supervisor to have the fee waived because it is not totally my fault. I cannot wait to get out of my contract.

    When I called for a billing issue, the customer service rep asked me for my passcode. I would not give the passcode and he refused to talk to me, said I need to read the contract I signed for the procedure that an account passcode is needed to call for any services, and he said that he is looking at the passcode now he just need to confirm that to talk to me. I insisted that I am not giving the passcode out no matter what, I then got transferred to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor defend their policy just as the Rep did. I did not get the billing issue resolved, and consider cancel my account. Long story short, Ackerman billed me every other month for the quarterly bill, I over paid. Is the security company right to have clients passcode readily in front of all employees? In my opinion, the passcode should be dot dot dot, and only available for the monitoring stuffs during emergency to identify the home owner. Is anyone out there have a similar experiences? Do you give your passcode to a billing clerk in a security company but all you wanted is to discuss the billing issues?

    Cancellation is the worst – they are trying to charge me hidden fees and didn’t inform me of an auto renewed contract.
    But in general the service was not great. App wasn’t easy to use. Online account wasn’t easy to use. Any changes in general were very difficult.

    Our salesperson Ben Hioe (pronounced Hugh) was highly knowledgeable, professional, thorough in assessing our needs and didn’t try to oversell our security needs. He was available for questions before, during and after the install. I would highly recommend Ben and Ackerman Security for all your security needs. We love our new system!

    The Best People are the Reason to Choose Ackerman
    Recently we had a problem with our Ackerman Security alarm system that is over twenty years old and has had amazingly few problems over these years. The Ackerman Security Systems Service Manager, Andrew Terazzas, sent a technician who is an expert on these systems, Charles Caniff, to quickly fix the problem. It is because Ackerman Security has the best people, who are knowledgeable, courteous, and willing to make an extra effort to assure customer satisfaction, that we have been Ackerman customers for so long.
