    ATT digital should NOT be in the service of protecting people’s homes and families. My equipment has not worked one too many times for something unfortunate to happen in our home.     AT& T digital Life was the worst security system I ever purchased. There customer service will lie to you and then when you want to cancel they hit you with the cancellation fee. The service from the moment of installation was a nightmare. First, was the security door lock which locked my entire family out of home due to the lock not working properly,. approximately two days after it was installed. Called customer service there was nothing they could do to get us access to home,so they informed us to contact lock smith and that they would reimburse us. So we did call lock smith and the next day they inform us they would not reimburse us. I wanted to cancel service at this point when they informed me that I would be subject to an early cancellation fee. So, I tried to work with them and they came out a changed the lock on the door, which still never worked properly. Secondly we notice that the system would read not arming. So we called again and they told us nothing was wrong we just had to pull the panel box off the wall and it would reset. The last and final problem was when we walked in the house and we failed to disarm the system. We noticed an hour later that we did not disarm the system and that the system never went off. Again we called and AT&T keeps lying could do nothing and threatens with early cancellation fees. The camera does not record, and a thief can completely burglarize your home and AT&T will still keep charging you for a system that does not work at all. So, they can charge me for the early cancellation fee, I will see them in court because I am the consumer and nobody should have to pay for a security system that absolutely does not work.     For 10 months in a row the automatic bill pay does not work even though they swear on their life that it is going to work the next month. Every month collections call me saying I didn’t pay my bill. Dealing with these incompetent idiots is a part time job. I’m done and I will never go back!!!!! AT&T is a communication company that is horrible in communicating.

    Camera are lousy. The just sit there. They don’t scan. Half the time they don’t take pictures. The app on phone is terrible. Shuts itself off while watching the camera or viewing pictures. If watching ithe camera with direct tv it shuts off if no activity after 3 minutes so you can’t watch it live. Not happy

    HORRIBLE!!!! only decided to use the alarm system because I was told repeatedly that they would transfer all of the equipment when I moved at no charge. I knew I would be moving prior to the 2 year contract period ending and this was a deciding factor. Called today to transfer my service and was told it would be $499 “new startup package fee”. I explained that I was told numerous times they would transfer at no charge. Their response was… “that was a promotion that we are no longer offering” and to cancel I would be charged an early termination fee. I certainly understand promotions and how they work. This was definitely not presented to me as a promotion and would not make any sense to tell me about a “move out” promotion while installing a system. I am so furious with this company. I will be cancelling my cable and internet with them as well. THEY SHOULD BE FINED AND NOT ALLOWED TO BLATANTLY LIE AND RIP PEOPLE OFF. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ANY PART OF THIS COMPANY.     BEWARE!!!! Poor customer service, system has been acting poorly, keypad loosing power, keypad going into sleep mode (keypad going dark, need to touch buttons so it initialize ) system going offline and earliest technicians can come in 2 weeks,

    WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I have called 43 times to attempt to cancel my service. The alarm randomly goes off. Now I am moving. 2 months I have been getting the run around from these pathetic people. I am STILL TRYING TO CANCEL. They have hung up on me 23 times. They have transferred me to nothing. They have given me dead phone numbers to call.

    After having this service for over 4 yrs, I decided to move. I have been told that I have to continue to pay for the alarm system at my old address even though its an apartment & I do not live there anymore. This is crazy. I was told by one rep that all I had to do was transfer my services to the new address, however after staying on hold trying to get ahold of someone from the “move dept’ over a week span of staying on hold hours at a time, just to be told that I have to pay $400 to transfer my current service. SMH CLEARLY these depts so not talk with each other and no one knows ANYTHING. WORST service I have ever had in my life. I will not continue to put my safety in jeopardy waiting for a callback so I have decided to go with another provider although I am STUCK paying for services where I do not live anymore. Craziest thing EVER!! I would NOT recommend AT&T Digital Life to my worst enemy! They SUCK!!!!! Customer Service is the WORST. Save your money & time & go with a different security service provider other than AT&T. Save yourself the headache.

    I am rating Digital Life a 1 instead of 0 because their mobile app has improved greatly over the past 6 months.
    We have been with Digital Life for 14 months already. In that time frame, we have had to have technicians out to our house on 7 occasions. Our front door lock goes off-line randomly and will stay off-line until a technician comes out. The last time a technician was out, a manager came with him, they ran a lot of tests and finally told me that there is nothing they can do to keep my door lock on-line. I called customer service and spoke with many managers and all of them told me the same thing, that even though their equipment could not provide the service that we signed up for, we still had a contract.
    Today, we had an alarm go off in our house and the alarm continued for over 3 minutes. We never received a call from their monitoring service. I called customer service and they informed me that the alarm was only present for 14 seconds. I know for a fact that it was sounding for over 3 minutes.
    We are loyal AT&T cell phone users and Direct TV, however, we will look elsewhere when our contract is over for Digital Life.
    Terrible customer service, faulty equipment, and not providing the service that they promised when we signed up for them is enough for me to run from these guys.

    What a nightmare trying to cancel this service!!!! Trying since Jan (paid up til March which is the end of my contract), representative refused to cancel service in Jan, stated I had to call back at the end of Feb (it is the end of Feb so I called) now trying to say I have a balance when I paid thru the contract last month. They said they are charging another month because it’s after the 20th! Which they never told me or I would have made sure I called. No matter what I said this rep tried to get me to keep the service even cutting the bill in half. These people are trained not except CANCEL MY SERVICE no matter how many times you say it (my husband counted 6 times I said it). So I asked to pro rate from the 20th to March 1st (which I shouldn’t have to pay a penny more) at first they refused but after asking for a supervisor all of a sudden it can be pro rated and I’ll be charged from Feb 20-Mar 1. Rep would not tell me that amount but states a bill will be sent out on Mar 1 WHAT A SCAM!!!!

    The app is very inconsistent. The solution center (fixing problems) is never available. The chat line is AI and never able to address the problem. When you ask for a live person, the waits are insufferable. The phone reps are actually very responsive, but if you have an issue you’re going to spend at least an hour on the phone. Every time I’ve had a problem, it required sending out replacement equipment.

    I had ADT for many years with no problems. Stay away from these AT&T.

    Have had system for 1-1/2 years. Alarm has gone off 4 times in the middle of the night for no reason. Never received call from service. Have called customer service 4 times, each telling me that they did a system check and everything was fine. One time sent new battery and said that would solve the problem. It did not. Filed claim with BBB.

    Worked for att digital life myself. System is unreliable and faulty. Devices will go offline for no reason. Run away not a way to spend ur money. Had to leave them because of the same thing sysyem not being reliable and always having to go back. Plain n simple the system does not work.

    Do not expect the quality normally associated with AT&T telephone, cell service, U-verse, etc.
    It is sub-par. I had the security products for 2+ years and had failures and technician visits about every 60 days. Equipement is re-ferb. One issue was resolved because I had obsolete hardware. Their words, not mine.
    Service is ok. Sometimes you talk to off shore, but communication is satisfactory.
    Basically, the system is not reliable and often cannot be corrected on line., which means yet another day of staying home for a 4-5 hour window waiting for a technician.
    When I cancelled service, 1/30, ATT pulled the plug within an hour.. The keypad will not go to ‘Ready to Arm.’ Then, 2/12, I was billed another month, because I must have a complete cycle of 30 days notice.

    This company should be shut down and fined. Claiming to be in home security with so many faulty issues with both equipment and administration puts people at serious risk. I wish there was some legal recourse we can take against them. I think, of all the problems we’ve had, the one that takes the cake was when we discovered they had us down as living at an address that doesn’t even exist! Where would they have dispatched police to had we needed it?? Incompetence, inconsistent information, faulty equipment, horrible customer service… just such a shame it’s AT&T so they wouldn’t even feel it if we all boycotted them. At least that’s the feeling I get when I talk with them, that I’m just one little fish in a huge ocean and they couldn’t care less what I had to say.

    What an awful company to do business with! I am a 32-year cell phone subscriber with AT&T and decided to try the home alarm service. It has never operated correctly in the 1 year and 10 months since we installed the system. 4 Trips to the house – numerous phone calls and at the moment I have been on hold with “customer service” dept for the past 48 minutes they – have not come back to say how long the wait would be since 19 minutes in. Whatever you do – do not use this service!!!!

    I have been a customer for ATT Digital Life for almost 2 years, after ATT bought DIRECTV seemed that hings could improve on the service, but their customer service and installers incompetence have greatly diminished the quality of the service. Security response is not good, I have had 2 legitimate alarms that no one contacted me to see what was wrong and there was no dispatch. For a company as big as ATT the product is not worth the pain, go with something smaller or more local that actually works. !!!

    WORST COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF DEALING WITH! SYSTEM ONLY WORKED FOR A COUPLE MONTHS AND I COULD NEVER GET ANY ASSISTANCE TO FIX THE ISSUE. NOW I AM BEING CHARGED A DISCONNECTION FEE OF $346.63 FOR A SYSTEM THAT RANDOMLY WENT OFF DURING THE DAY AND WOULDN’T SET WHEN WE NEEDED IT TO. AFTER MANY EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS TO THE VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT I AM STILL BEING CHARGED FOR A SYSTEM THAT DIDN’T WORK. ON A POSITIVE NOTE, THE GENTLEMAN THAT INSTALLED THE SYSTEM WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID A GREAT JOB.

    Run, run, run. This is not an alarm system that protects your family. It is an alarm system that hinders your family and at times, even put us in harms way. I had been a customer of AT&T for over 10 years and because of this defective system – I cancelled not only this service but also my families cell phone service. As far as this alarm system, we had problems from day one.

    1) My son was locked out because their server was down and the door lock was consequently inoperable 2) The remote door key pad corroded and stopped working 3) The alarm went off every night for over a week 4) and it constantly beeped all day.

    Even though they install defective equipment and made our lives miserable with bi-monthly service calls, they demand $199 to cancel our contract. But wait, if you want service on the equipment, that costs $99.

    I am not a “reviewer” but had to on this one in hopes that I save others from the sheer misery they have put us through for nearly two years.

    There are simply too many options and the bottom line is, ATT is just not what it used to be…

    I do not recommend att digital life. I was burglarized and the motion detector installed was defective. Customer service was not satisfactory. Got the run around on the call. Couldn’t get a technician to come out till two days later. The alarm is not audible from outside. After the motion detector was replaced, the motion detector takes 2 minutes to be triggered. I Should have done more homework. They didn’t do enough to to make me feel supported or safe. I’m in the process of cancelling and replacing my security.

    Att Digital Life is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their equipment does not work at all. When you call in it takes forever to get someone on the phone. I am constantly calling them because of billing problems on their part that have resulted in late fees. Only idiots work there. I couldn’t take it anymore! I went ahead and paid the steep $100 cancellation fee. Stay away from this company. Better to get a watch dog.

    I will say this I will NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE! I’ve had problems from the beginning to the end but this is just the last straw for me! They are a bunch of liars! I wish I could make this up!! I tried multiple times to get them change my address when I moved the last person I spoke with straight lied! She told me I had 45 days to change over to my new place and a week later I receive for 500 dollars nowhere near what I owe and the price to cancel it! Now after complaining and requesting a phone call because their customer service is TERRIBLE it is in collections! What the heck is going on! You guys rather loose a customer and receive a bad review. I don’t understand you guys logic. You are a terrible company and if this is how you run, you are no better than a thief!

    Expensive horrible service. I was suckered into digital through a bundle. The technician who installed my service was incompetent and rude. They had to send someone else out to fix all of his mistakes. When issues arise, it takes forever to schedule an appointment. Cameras don’t work all of the time and customer service is hard to deal with.

    Four times the alarm went off and we did not receive any phone call or notification this is absolutely unacceptable. We terminated our contract after 2 1/2 years and own the equipment but are still unable to use the audible side of the alarm due to lack of service and I know when I signed up they told me once I owed it I could use it with or without digilife service WRONG !!! Everything about this service is WRONG it took me two days just to cancel my service they made it very difficult and I was at an AT&T store. The manager at the store was apologizing to me while leaving he was embarrassed.

    I made the mistake I choosing them. Because they
    promise they would come back and fix things the system until it was right.
    Don’t believe them. I had people already hacking into my system and it barely been a month.
    When I ask for Tech support they refuse to send someone
    out. They just transfer you around
    And I am a quote valued customer
    I was so scared on New Years Eve I had to sleep with a gun

    had ATT DIGITAL LIFE for 15 months. There service reps are the worst. They do not care if your connected . I can not get an appointment for 2 week to resolve issue. My system is test mode. I live alone. I feel unsafe and when I ask to get out of contract the cost is 250 dollars.I have equipment running up my electric for something that’s not working. There is 5 items plugged in. I do not feel safe in my home and I have spent over 5 hours on telephone support. I ask to file complaint and they say I can’t through website. I want some answers of why Ihave to wait so long for a tech to come to house and since I feel unsafe why they will not let me out off contract so I can pick up a company to give me the safety I need?

    I began having problems with AT&T Digital Life 4 days after it was installed when I tried to call for a service call the operator in India argued with me for almost an hour would not give me a phone number for service department nor would she transfer me to the service department their collection people have been calling me two and three times a day for at least 3 months now I called them after about 3 weeks of not getting service and told them to cancel my account they called me back 15 minutes later and said they were not cancelling my account it was then that I found out that they had an arbitrary 14 day. In which to cancel without penalty but it was there delays and stalling that made me go over that limit not my fault they are a terrible company to do any kind of business with take care nothing about their customers only the money

    Who knows how good the system is? One would actually have to get it installed. We are on our third waiting period for them to get to our house and perform the install. Now we are told they cannot make that.

    What a total joke. I assume that whatever subcontractor they send out will be unfamiliar with the system, in a hurry because he is two-three days late with installs.

    The customer Loyalty dept. is a haha and incapable of communicating beyond ” I am so sorry”.

    I have had AT&T service for almost 2 years. It has never worked for more than a couple of weeks at a time. I have been trying to get out of my contract and so far have not been able to.
    It goes down and when I try to put my password in so I have use of the camera, it locks me out and I can’t use the camera or tablet . Even after I talk to customer service (usually on the phone with them a couple of hours), it goes down again after having just got it up. I am so fed up with this company and as soon as I can I will be changing. I’m thinking about going to the better Business Bureau.

    The worst customer service ever. The card was updated three times for automated payment but keep on sending bills with penalty. i upgraded on app and called individually.
    agents like Tiffany who could not answer any questions and superviser like cory CB932H took 30 min to come to line. Horrible experience.

    If I could give a negative score I would. I hate this service. If I could get out of it I would. Name something the service does and it’s terrible. Installation–awful. Failed my local inspection. Customer service? There isn’t any. That’s a complete joke. What a terrible company. If I could quit my job, I would make my life’s goal to shut this business down and make sure every employee never had a job again.

    We purchased cameras and other extra equipment at start of service. Now that we no longer have the service we are unable to have the any use of the extra equipment we purchased. We were not happy with the service, the camera at front of the house failed to record UPS thefts from front of house, main battery goes down fast and tech needs to come out to fix. When we cancelled our service I had to almost battle my way through the LONG process with Customer Service.

    I called to dispute my last bill payment spoke to Katrina just now and we went around in circles , she would not get a supervisor on the phone , after she said she consulted with one .
    Service canceled in October yet being charged for November. This is such an inconvenience especially when the customer service does not help at all . Terrible and will not be recommending digital life to anyone!

    The system rarely worked–had to have several service calls and then get charged for them! Forget about cancelling early–it’s a nightmare–and you’ll be hounded for hundreds of dollars.
    Go elsewhere–you’ll be sorry you purchased this service from ATT.

    We’ve had ATT Digital Life for about a year now. We’ve had issues right from the start and we were hopeful since we’ve been long standing customers with AT&T. We had an initial assessment completed and based on the assessment we agreed to have it installed. The odd thing about the assessment, the representative did not show up at the agreed time and was on the phone during the entire assessment informing the person on the phone of all the details of our house. The representative indicated that we would hear back shortly for an installation appointment. After a week, we were not contacted. I reached out to ATT and they indicated they had no record of the visit or having the assessment done. We asked for an immediate installation of the system in our house from ATT and indicated that we did not want the same rep back (which they almost sent). It took the rep over 6 hours to install the system. Once installed, you have to use their app to schedule events to use the camera, lock doors, turn on lights, etc. The app is extremely unreliable and crashes often. We are now stuck in a 2 year contract and would not recommend this system to anyone. We asked to add another camera which would cost an addition $250 plus installation fee. I purchased a NEST camera instead and have been more than impressed with it’s performance, much better than the ATT camera. One other important point, ATT use their own proprietary wireless system so you cannot connect it to a home automation system. I would not recommend ATT Digital Life to anyone and can’t wait to have it replaced.

    They tell you the system works remotely with few rare minor “ issues”. I travel for work and can’t be making monthly or weekly appointments. Their devices require frequent servicing between battery replacement and camera failure that needs a replacement. The system was not working for weeks and they did not want to give credit or refund. I get it that sometimes a battery change is needed but every 14 days? At 13$ a battery? Looking for replacement company. If you call them for trouble shooting it’s like “ I hope I get somebody that knows their stuff “ but it usually takes about 3 phone calls to get anywhere. I would not recommend them at all unless you like to stay home and wait for the repair man.

    AT&T is supposed to be a leading leader in technology, however there system lacks complete home automation and is behind in the game today. I have had DL for a year now and am wanting to automate my home,which is DLs main selling point and am unable to complete simple add ons. Very disappointing and sad to see a tech company have such a simple boring system. I will be shopping around this year!!

    AT&T Digital life service is a scam! It is overpriced and underperforms. Customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime. There are so many technical issues with this system, the sloppy installation, the unreliability of the service, the moronic user interface, that as a security system, it is worthless. In addition, you can’t even get out of the contract without a significant penalty. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID AT&T DIGITAL LIFE LIKE THE THE PLAGUE!

    When I moved a few years ago I got proposals from three different companies, including ADT which I had for years in my prior house. I decided to go with ATT DigitalLife based on the high praise of a friend that is a techno geek. ‘ve had this system for over two years and have had a number of minor annoyances. Mainly wireless sensors going offline for no reason and occasionally a wired door sensor kicking a fault like its open when it’s clearly not. Other than the aforementioned, it has been fairly trouble free. However, this morning I woke to a beeping coming from the keypad in my room alerting me that every sensor, even the wired ones, were offline. I called customer service, in India it would seem, and went through an agonizing series of troubleshooting steps involving me getting up and down from a ladder to unplug the AC, disconnect the battery, then wait 10 minutes for the system to reboot. After an hour of this the agent had exhausted her two or three scripted solutions and said she would have to send a tech out in 3-5 days to fix. I explained that wouldn’t work as I was leaving in two days and would be gone for a week. She said nothing was available sooner. I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for 30 minutes. While waiting, I tested the system backup battery and found it was dead. I rebooted it without the battery, then went around the house opening and closing all 30+ sensors to make them ping the system. Eventually they all came back on and I was able to arm and test the system. It seemed to work and I found a local source for a battery replacement. Finally I gave up waiting for a supervisor and hung up. Takeaway: equipment is not bad, but costumer service sucks. I would switch to another company, but I don’t think they can monitor AT&T equipment. If I ever have a real problem I will replace the equipment and service and engage a real alarm company – not a phone company.

    AT&T customer support has declined in general, but their digital life support is horrendous. We tried to cancel 3 times and the last time, even though they had in their notes that we had called to cancel months before, they stil kept trying to charge us for the service months after the 1st cancellation attempt

    AT & T DigitalLife has Horrible customer service. Scheduled an appointment. Called to confirm. No appointment showing even though it was in the notes from the call when scheduled, understandable. Mistakes happen. What is totally unacceptable is the complete unwillingness to rectify the situation in anyway. And oh by the way you’re going to have to wait another 3 days before we will fix what we screwed up!! If you except reasonable customer service do not go with them!
