  • Home Automation: Slomin’s provides customers with a number of home automation tools that allow them to monitor and control their home’s security while they’re away. Customers can access door locks, thermostats, lighting, and both live and recorded video monitoring all from the conveniences of the Slomin’s smartphone app.
  • Installation: Slomin’s guarantees professional installation on all projects, and estimates between four and six hours’ installation time for each install (depending on the size of the job and the security features requested).
  • Monitoring: Customers can also rest easy with Slomin’s round-the-clock security monitoring and fast response times. The company even provides a form of false alarm prevention by providing customers with a unique password to be used in the event of a false alarm.
  • Contract: Slomin’s only offers a 60-month contract–two years longer than the standard 36-month contract offered by most home security companies. And while the company promises approximately $1,300 in free equipment by signing such a long contract, customers will be required to compensate Slomin’s should they decide to terminate the contract before it expires.
  • Fees: Prices start at $33.95/month for home security services, but if customers request additional equipment (possibly including home automation, or heating and cooling features), they could be paying much more. Unfortunately, Slomin’s gives no information on these other prices, and customers will be required to speak personally with a customer service representative in order to procure this information.
  • Our Recommendation: Slomin’s doesn’t offer the cheapest home security solution and locks their customers into long-term contracts. For these reasons, prospective customers should look into companies like Protect America and Frontpoint.

    I have been with Slomin's around 2001 or 2002. They are liars and the customer service is horrible. The people on the line don't care about what is going on with our problems, and they seem like they also don't care about what we talk to them about. I've been having problems with my front camera that is connected to the Slomins app since December 5th of this year. I told one of the service people on the phone that this needs to be fixed immediately because you never know if someone will pull up to your house and harm you when you go out. They have set up a meeting to see it on December 20th to see whats going on. Then they told me that my front camera isn't working as well because of the bad weather, wind outside, and the snow which is a lie. If that actually happened, it would affect on the back camera as well. They told me that there is something that is unplugged which is another lie. They use lies to make you sign up for their services . If this was such a good service they would've helped us as soon as possible. I can't leave Slomins until the 5 year contract is up and now I am locked with them until then. This is a horrible home security system to set up, they know that they aren't good and they try to lock their customers in. I advise people to not choose Slomins because of their bad customer service, and guarantee/warranty.Read More

    I'm writing on this page because I no longer know what else to do. I am completely unsatisfied with slomins customer service. For the past 4 months, their text notification service has been sending me all of the text notifications for the day in the middle of the night. I was just awoken because of these texts and I've had enough. The people who I have spoken to have been unable and/or unwilling to repair the problem. I've spoken with countless agents on numerous occasions. Is there nobody at Slomins who will help me? Is there nothing that can be done? I only want a security company that lives up to their promises. I look forward to some sort of response.Read More

    Worst company to deal with. The equipment doesn’t work well and they sell you the moon but deliver fools gold instead. The installers were very nice, but once I had a problem with the system, customer service was terrible. I had to pay to break the contract with them……which was worth it. Just to get a better company with equipment that actually worked. They are the absolute worst security company. believe the negative reviews on here because each and every one is true!!!!

    I had a service take over, from ADT. The technician claims they are experience, I had a on and off light timer he could not install and he left with one key pad not working and the entire system was not chiming or talking. Then it was a week before they could come back out and fix there mistakes and that service tech was not able to get the key fob working and then they tell me it will be $10 more to use one of the it’s. Bottom line is they will nickel and dime you for poor service.

    I called and a friendly sales rep came out to tell me what they could do. It was the same as my securty system, i felt that i was good to cancel my old provider and switch to Slomins. After a home invasition having my partiner heald to the ground with a gun to his head with a pillow though it. I canceled our service with the other securty providor and now am scared to go to sleep at night. The sales associate said everything would process and i would be fine after signing the contract. The next day i called and him the next day and he said there was a issue with my credit. Yes i did go though bankruptcy and had othet issues however secured a new car loan with other revolving accounts. I dont understand why this company would lead me to false expectations then on top of that after being declined want me to take them out to help my 66 year old mother and her home garadge and secured Barn that is two stories. I warn consumers about this company.

    Slomins current customer service is the worst of any company I have delt with in the past 30 years They are RUDE, NASTY MEAN and couldn’t care less about the customer and their problem.
    I’ve been aslomins customer for for over 25 years They used to be incredible but today their management just do not give a rats butt about anything, especially when you are told they won’t take any call from customers
    The service people that repairs for heating, air-conditioning and Alarms are all top notch when you can get just service to schedule a timely appointment

    I signed the contract in 2015, with the understanding we would have door, motion and fire alarms. We had a fire alarm go off, and no call from the company. Wife calls the company, and they say we do not have fire alarm. So I called the company and they confirmed this. They said your existing alarm must not be compatible with the control. Five year contract as well. I thought it was a two year contract.

    This company has worse customer service and emergency service repair. when its cold and you have no heat your lucky to see repair within 48 hours. please don’t let them trick you into believing Completion is lying about their beyond terrible service. their emergency call center reps will never give you a true update. please run back to your previous company or find another ,all oil company honor others pricing or will beat

    Customer service reps for this company have a non caring attitude towards customer satisfaction. I’ve had Slomins in my home since 2004 and at first they were very professional and curtious but as of late whenever i have an issue I’m always never satisfied with how my situation was handled of lack of. If you have an issue with their equipment instead of resolving the problem they want to sell you something as a remedy instead of fixing the problem. I have 2 key farbs and neither of them work. I’ve changed the batteries and still they do not function properly. I’ve called customer service only to be told change the batteries again or take it to radio shack because maybe I’m to dumb to understand the super complex dynamic of changing a battery. I was brushed off the phone with the rep with a bad taste in my mouth. I think I will try giving Vivent a call You would think aftet being a loyal customer of Slomins for 12yrs I would get treated better but I guess not.

    The Slomin’s rep told us we were getting a two year agreement. He never gave us a copy, and when we attempted to terminate service after two years, we were told we had a five year agreement and it would cost over a thousand dollars to terminate. We asked for a copy of our contract, but it was never sent. Finally, we demanded a copy from a collector who called us, ans it was sent. The signatures on the contract were not mine, and looked nothing like my handwriting or the signature on my passport or drivers license. We told the collection agancy that the contract was NOT signed by us, and that we believed it had been submitted by the salesman instead of the one we had seen, but never received a copy of. We would never have signed ANY home security contract for a five year period as we knew we could get a 24 month contract locally! I still have a copy of the bogus contract we received from the collector. We have heard nothing further from them.

    First of all, this company does not disclose verbally that you are signing a 5 year contract when you inquire and enter into a service agreement with them. You need to be aware that if you sign a contract with them, you will most likely be locking yourself into 5 years of service, and will have to pay exorbitantly high fees to be released from the contract. This to me is absolutely absurd, as so much can change in a 5 year period. I have no doubt that Slomin’s is taking advantage of its customers in this manner, and making large sums of money on fees to break contracts. Not to mention, Slomin’s has service that is limited and lacking when compared to its competitors, like ADT. I will be working to get out of my contract with Slomin’s and at this point, I certainly do not see myself continuing to use their service or recommending their services to anyone else. I will continue to leave these types or reviews on other review boards, as Slomin’s customer service department has been less than helpful.

    We made appointment for 8-10. We waited around for the guy to show up. They said we were the first appointment. At 10:00 their was still no one or no phone call to even say he was gonna be late. Around 10:05 we called and he said he’ll be their in 25 minutes. That’s a half an hour late, I thought that’s why they give a Time frame so their not late. Then we told him we are just going to the different company Comcast probably and all he did was bash Comcast. That’s not true customer service.

    We had used Slomin’s for eight years in our previous home and did not get any other estimates when we were ready to install a security system in our new home. The Slomin’s sales rep was punctual, informative and concise. There were no attempts to sell us unnecessary add-ons or upgrade to services we chose not to include. The customer service reps are always knowledgeable and helpful. Our installation was scheduled at our convenience and on the day we requested. The installation tech was kind, patient and experienced. He took the time to answer all of our questions, helped us choose the best locations for the required technology and provided a thorough tutorial. We are genuinely happy with all of our interactions and the services provided by Slomin’s. Highly recommended!

    My system was installed on June 6th, I didn’t work 5 mins after the person who installed left. I can’t get a person to talk to, and the email appointment they set is June 15, I work a real full time job and do not have time for things that don;t work. Additionally. the wireless is not really wireless, you will have power cords. and it will slow your intern speed to a crawl.

    Next door neighbor was robbed (his service weapon was taken as well) and that’s when we decided to get a system. Its been 15 years now and though I can’t remember why we chose Slomin’s to come out for an estimate (although my sixth sense was most likely the reason), we chose well, and have never questioned them. We had one issue with a bad sensor which triggered the fire company, but the tech came out within a day or so to repair and offered to reimburse us if we received a bill for the false alarm call. It was our very first alarm call so we were good. This system, (using the bypass) allows us to walk freely around the house when alarm is on, which came in so useful when my elderly mother lived with us and got up frequently all hours of the night. Great for pets too. I have friends who said their parents were ‘locked’ in their rooms at night when they set the alarm because it would go off if it detected movement. HOW SCARY IS THAT! Thank you Slomin’s, for providing this homeowner with the comfort of being able to walk around my home, leave my home, knowing someone is going to have to spend far too much valuable time trying to rip off my space, or a fire that would have more destruction time before anyone might notice.

    Very unhappy with their customer service – very rude on the phone. They want an outrageous amount of money to get out of the contract. The equipment was installed in the home we purchased. Also, they have no one in the area – their service people have to come from New Jersey. Wish I hadn’t signed up with them.

    Stupidity is a compliment to this group of jerks. I do not have an account with Slomin’s. Slomin’s calls me constantly asking for my alarm password. When I called customer service, Sean, who seems to be head schmuck, told me he can’t take my telephone number off another customer’s account unless I give him their password. Yes, you read that right. I need to give him the other account’s password in order to remove the wrong phone number off their account. So, Mr and Mrs Heller, whomever you are, your house alarm went off yesterday. If you give me your phone number, I’ll call you whenever Slomin’s calls me! I’m still laughing!

    I have been a customer for 19 years. Loyalty is a two way street. Slomin’s has been there for my family with quick phone response, competetent customer service and professional resolve. No company is perfect, however the true example of a great company is not just a great product and sales.team but more importantly when you have an issue or problem it is resolved to your satisfaction. That’s what it’s all about. I also have had my system updated twice with newer technology, cameras, automation etc. Works perfect. Do yourself justice by going with the pros the first time.It will save you in every way!

    After being with Slomins Security System for 10+ years we recently had a very very bad experience dealing with getting an issue resolved. Our service was termed due to the wrong date being entered and we have been trying to resolve this mistake with Slomins for several days. No one returns our calls after we have been told someone will “call back”.by person answering the main number. This is so frustrating since they boast customer service. Do not consider this company since there is no “customer service” after you sign a contract.

    The whole process as an existing customer to get a few minor items fixed after some home construction has been nothing short of a nightmare. Made us wait multiple weeks for an appointment, and then sent a sales person who couldn’t do anything. Then wait several more weeks for a service evaluation. Now it’s even two more weeks and today we’ve been 7+ hours for the final service person to come over, when we were told to be the first appointment of the day. We’re still waiting…

    Home alarm system failed while we were away.
    Slomin’s control system had not detected it. House was not alarmed for 2 weeks. When I called, the appointment day (not hour window) was given for next week. They do not think that their system is that important. They are pretty good in collecting your monthly fee….

    They lack customer service. They fail to properly maintain the homeowners heating equipment. They fail to do yearly maintenance on heating equipment. They have an assortment of service technicians they make you stay home all day when your equipment needs repair. They have no idea what time a mechanic will come to your home and never can provide even a window for you to be home, a total loss for quality service. They earn a fortune yearly but do not even train the telephone answering people on etiquitte. A routine delivery of oil has been $3.99 so expect a bill for $700. Thats several reasons to switch to gas….

    Don’t waste your time and money go with a more customer friendly or reliable company. Was never told that if you connect alarm to house phone and phone line is cut no police are called neither is slomins aware to call you and tell you there’s a problem . Very very rude customer service . Wish I was told of all the extra charges from the beginning and the consequences of hooking alarm to phone. DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY

    The COX HOME SECURITY is the worst security system there is. The company began the Home security in June, 2014. The salesman lied when he stated that this is not a contract, but stated that the price is locked in for five(5) years. The customer service is the worst that I have seen. When you call the customer service with a problem, they told me that they will call me back today. I spoke to over 10 customer service supervisors and workers and no one ever called me back. The salesman failed to tell me that the key pad is portable and has to stay plugged into a wall plug for the next five(5) years and take up room on a table. If the plug is accidentally unplugged, the alarm goes off in their monitoring center and a charge is assessed to the bill. I got out of the contract due to the lies they told me.

    We Have had two large jobs done by Solomon’s in Cleveland, QLD over the last 2 years and both were finished very well though both required a later adjustment to ensure the security doors were fitting squarely in the frames. I would definitely use Solomon’s again but I would insist on having one of their experienced fitters, such as Jessie. The women on the desk are courteous in taking orders but when someone rings to leave a request for one of the fitters they should pass that request on. Twice they failed to do so.

    We had Slomin’s for about 15+ years at a house we recently sold. Everything about the service was excellent except they were very stingy about giving out replacement signs without charge (the signs are not very durable). I would recommend them and will probably use them again if and when the need arises (currently in a high rise, high security building).

    Any place that has to knock on your door once a month and ask for your business leads me to believe that the people from the very top HAVE NO IDEA ON HOW TO RUN A GOOD BUSINESS!!!!! If theses people come to my house one more time I’m gonna lose it… Wait, I already did. I didn’t blame the poor kids that have no idea what they are getting into, but the losers that instruct theses guys every month. If I ever change my oil company, IT WILL NEVER BE WITH SLOMINS!!!

    Signed up recently for their free alarm system and haven’t had a problem yet, which is something I couldn’t say for previous alarm systems iv’e had from companies like ADT. Do your research and see if they are a right fit for your needs before ordering.
