  • High monthly monitoring fees: Standard monitoring plans for new customers range from $36.99 to $52.99 per month. This is a bit higher than other leading industry providers. Specifically, their lowest plan is considerably higher than other industry leading providers and their respective lower plans.
  • A long, 36-Month contract: ADT provides the installation and equipment free of charge, but with one major caveat. You’re basically signing a 3 year (36-month) contract. Also it’s important to note that these contracts aren’t too forgiving. Customers are expected to pay what they owe on the contract in the event that they try to cancel early.
  • Video surveillance option: ADT has a video plan option where for $49.99/month, you get the standard home security package along with a camera that includes video surveillance features that you can monitor through the ADT mobile app. Most home security service providers still do not offer video surveillance as a service. So if this is an important feature to you, you’ll want to consider ADT.
  • Customer service complaints: Common complaints of ADT customers include sales and installation reps failing to show up to scheduled appointments, long wait times, and high cancellation fees. We have received over 1,500 negative reviews here on this website regarding ADT from real customers.

    ADT called me in February to tell me to put new batteries in. I told them that my alam system did not work and that I wanted to cancel the service. They said that if they could troubleshoot it from the telephone, would I keep the system? I said yes, but if they couldn't, I wanted to cancel. They could not troubleshoot it. They continued to bill me, I did not pay, since I had verbally cancelled. Yesterday, October, I got a call from their collection agency, Source Receivables Management. They were very rude. I called ADT today to complain. They have all the record of my calls and that I wanted to cancel, etc., but now they're telling me it had to be done in writing. They didn't tell me that then. They strongarmmed me into paying the money or were going to have it affect my credit. Very deceptive and very rude!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!Read More

    Worst service ever. Was told that I would be quoted one thing when I ended up having to spend much more. Have been trying to get reimbursed for over a month now. Also spoke with someone on the phone and I expressed my frustrations and they literally laughed at me. I will never go with this company again. After my contract is up we will be done.Read More

    Bad services spicially in indoor camera and door bill camera
    When some body came and ring usually doesn’t show up in my app if it come to my app I usually can’t communicate with him from my phone until he leave !!! It is useless device
    I asked him to solve this issue tech came to my home more than four times but no way .

    We were quoted $27.99 a mo. We have existing ADT equipment. We needed a new battery and wanted monitoring. We had a Tech come out to see if we qualified for $27.99 mo fee. He said we needed some updated equipment but accessed a hard wired phone line so we were good. We signed a 3 yr contract but next day contract was changed from $27.99 to $52.99 for 3 yrs and when I signed 1 page next day 11 had my initials and signature!! We were charged $625 for “upgraded” equipment plus 1 mo and prorated fee at $52.99mo!! A CS Manager agreed to adjust our acct after we disputed but it is still on our credit card after 2 wks. They take 30-45 days to credit!? We have paid over $800 and we are now in collection after 2 wks and we over paid a mo in advance! We also paid for monitoring when we were not being monitored…they call it a “test” phase but won’t say how long before they decide to go live….I called Customer Service and they laughed and put me on hold and never came back.

    In ckng my system they had the wrong Police Dept phone # (another town!). I notified ADT,, they changed the # but it is still not correct. The customer service rep said they were not allowed to give out that info (are you kidding me, that’s how I found out in the first place!), so after 5 calls with wait times around 8-10 minutes I got a suprv who also told me they could not give out the phone #..obviously she was incorrect. I asked for a supervisor in another dept which I was sent to and I left a voice mail..the same person who said they were gong to change the # in the first place her name; “Carla.” 3:20 PM Jan 28th..we’ll see how long it takes to get back to me to verify the emergency police phone #..one would think this would be a priority for ADT; it is for me. Annoying the amount of time one is placed on hold on every single call and the reps are hardly coherent! IF you listen to their voice recording and the bragging they do about their “service” you have to wonder whom they are speaking of..the company is delusional!

    ADT is a a security company you cannot trust. They made a fuss about when I tries to cancel because they never did send in the note to tell the city I had an alarm system and the city tried to fine me for not notifying them. The city gave me a pass because they knew ADT had no external support for even simple matters. They made sure I knew that the penalties for early cancellation were huge but they are more than happy to break contract terms by increasing the cost without notice. They do as they please yet make sure they are so obnoxious with false credit reporting and every trick they can pull customers end up stuck. A security company that strong arms customers out of money… it sounds like a bad gangsta movie.

    I am a victim of domestic violence and was in pretrial. ADT convinced the Victims Compensation Board that I only needed a 4 camera system. Two inside cameras and a personal panic button. The system was installed in June 2016. Customers have 24 hours to accept camera location. The company has never replaced the to faulty cameras that were installed anyway. ADT was paid 3K for the system and was paid for 18 mths. The system has never been turned on. The cameras never picked up the theft from my garage. My sleeping area isn’t even on camera. I tried to be assertive at the time of install but zero customer support. Please go to BEST BUY and purchase a system there. It’s 25% of the cost plus you will get full audio capabilities. Don’t believe their commercials they don’t support or service faulty equipment. Sales and billing will bang your door down by service will never happen. The cameras don’t work if lights are in ranges. Lights will disable any video. Your internet bill will double and lag horribly. This is a buyer beware company

The system was installed in June 2016. Customers have 24 hours to accept camera location. The company cut a hole in my wall to plug the system in. The backdoor camer was wired properly and now my kitchen ceiling fan light strobes everytimes is on. Two cameras were reported not working the day of install. I was told that they would be replaced. The victim compensation board paid 3k for the system. I have called many times for replacement cameras and for two to be better positioned. The board also paid 18 mths worth of charges. I finally got sales out I told them I wanted to increase coverage. I only wanted to talk to a live person and he determined I had serious system issues. I had 2 supervisors out they agreed I needed the original cameras replaced. ADT calls regularly for money. I tell them I will pay once my system is properly working. Last January their harassment was horrible and definitely became abusive. I have asked several times for management to get involved. Nothing . I was told several times that they have deactivated my system but they turn it back on and call again for payment. I figure June 2019 the 3 year contract should be up and hopefully they will just stop calling. A lawyer has advised me to let them threaten with collections because they have to prove service. Two of my counsellors talked to them and they promised to resolve the issue. Nothing was ever done. I am out 3 k because they wouldn’t take out the system so I could buy a reliable one at Best Buy for 500.00 with sound. I am still waiting for service.

    It’s been one lie after another with ADT. The original promotion was a scam. The number of sensors we were promised was a lie. We signed a contract for 48.99 per month and yet I’ve been charged a different amount on every single bill and I have had to call and haggle every single time. The reps are useless. It’s all a money making scam. This is the absolute worst company I’ve ever done business with.

    Had ADT installed on Saturday and by Monday, the system couldn’t be armed because it said my front door was open, which it wasn’t. I called to let them know what was happening, and they said that particular office that handles that stuff was closed and I should hear from them by Wednesday. So my house can’t be armed away until then?! This all made me upset so then I started looking at the contracts that we sent to me via email on Saturday. Silly me didn’t look at them right away because I figured all of the numbers we talked about would reflect accurately on the contracts. NO, they were all $20+ more than we discussed. I called right away. Transferred to DD Defenders or whatever the third party company is and they wanted to offer me more Visa cards to bring my monthly billing statement down even more. So the guy that installed my system on Saturday made it sound awesome that I would be getting all of these Visa cards to total $400. BUT they do that to try to make the monthly statement lower, now to counter-act the expensive cost that you have to pay upfront for the equipment. Totally felt scammed and wish I would have done my research. What a crap company!!!

    ADT is terrible security company they are only base in to collect money to to give out services. I have been dealing with the same issue for almost three years once they lock you in their contract there is no way of out they even told me if you want to cancel l the contact just pay for the three years there is no cancellation fee. I highly warn you not to use ADT

    Terrible!! Have been charged way more than I was quoted, did not receive a Visa gift card as promised, equipment was noted as installed, but was not, as well as never given a key fob. Customer service laughed about the gift card and no one actually from Adt can help, or answer questions because Defender handles everything, Adt is just a name. Will never use them again, or recommend them to anyone.

    We have had ADT for years and recently had it completely upgraded and new services added for replacement doors and fire sensors. From start to finish we had an outstanding experience. We worked directly with ADT corporate (not a re-seller because of many unfavorable reviews). The original estimator did make an error about a license fee. But Brad S from corpotate stepped in. He had to charge us for the license, but he discounted other parts of the proposal such that we paid a lower price than original quote. Brad was outstanding as I probed the proposal asking detailed questions and requesting written confirmation and pricing. I made him jump through hoops because of the kind of reviews I see on this site. He was professional, courteous, prompt and fair at all times. But then our experience got even better. Justin was our technician. Cannot say enough good things about him. Want to clone him for all service people we ever have to deal with. He had to repair and upgrade a 20 year old hard wired system. He fixed most of the faulty sensors and alarms within the installation quote pricing. He walked us through some optional functionality that I had asked about, but never pressured to buy anything extra. We did add some new WiFi sensors, especially fire/smoke detectors, Justin was efficient, courteous and had a great sense of humor.

    I rarely post things, especially negative reviews about companies. I sincerely want to warn others about ADT. Before I begin, I’d like to point out that if someone does a great job I will go out of my way to recognize them. If someone does a seriously bad job, I go out of my way to make sure it’s noted. But I understand there are new people learning things, and that mistakes happen. That’s one thing, but when it’s consistent problems and no one helps or listens and you just continue to lose money and get nowhere it is one of the worst feelings in the world. When you pay for a service to give you peace of mind, and all it has done is given you problem after problem and drains you mentally to the point you want to break down in tears because you know you are completely helpless and no one is willing to help you or listen….it’s effecting my health. I seriously thought I was going to faint during one phone call because I was having trouble breathing. I have never gone off like I have, begged as I have, or pleaded to be helped like I have with ADT. I got ADT because my job offers a discount, and I regret ever signing up with them. I mean the problems never end. All they do is transfer me to someone else to be someone else’s problem and then sends me on my way and it’s a repeated cycle of insanity. One person tells me one thing while the other says nope that’s not how it is, it’s actually this way. It’s nonstop and consistent. With as much as I paid, you would think I would get better service. I get NO service. ADT is a scamming company, and I warn anyone if you want good customer service to STAY AWAY. Also, if they don’t want to deal with you, they’ll just put you on hold for a good 20 minutes, and all the sudden you have been transferred. Or you have to pretty much pull teeth to speak with a manager. Even when you call the loyalty department you’ll get transferred a good 2 times. This company should not exist. I am more than happy to answer any questions anyone may have about my terrible, terrible experience. Maybe all alarm companies are this way…I really don’t know. What I do know is what I have experienced so far, and how unhappy I am.

    This company is awful. We have lived in our home for four years and never had the existing ADT system activated. In 2018 I had made several phone calls to ADT to have the equipment removed from my house. It would randomly beep continuously at all hours night and day. I was told that they could not help me because I didn’t have an active account. I was instructed to watch U Tube videos on how to disconnect the equipment. Last night January 21,2019 the ADT system set off the loudest, most obnoxious alarm that would not turn off. My husband was on the phone with a representative “trouble shooting” the problem. He would describe everything and she in return would tell him what to disconnect. End result was the fire department coming to our house due to an electrical fire in the ADT equipment. Thankfully, were home and no one was hurt.
    A representative came to my house today. I explained everything that happened and asked to have the equipment removed from my house. He told me that if I wanted it removed I had to do it myself. I asked what he was doing here and he had no response.
    I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office and hopefully they can make ADT remove the faulty equipment.
    I would think twice before I decided to use this company. They advertise safety for the home, but the reality is much different.

    This is in reference to ADT service partner Defender who ADT utilizes to install services in New Jersey. on 1/7/19 we contacted who we thought was ADT to obtain a quote for a home alarm system. The company called us back never identifying themselves as “Defender” a third party company for ADT. Over the phone this company gave us a quote of $105.00 for the initial one time cost and $27.98 per month for the security equipment, monitoring, sensors and to include motion detectors. In addition, they would give us $100 Visa gift card. Throughout the course of the conversation we asked several times about if this was a contract and the person reassured us that there was no contract. At the end, I asked to speak to a supervisor but they had us listen to some pre-automated recording and the supervisor never came on the phone .
    On 1/12/19 , the service man came and did a home inspection and recommended additional equipment. We told him we did not want the additional equipment and he came back a few minutes later after he spoke to his supervisor, and that the supervisor gave him permission to install window sensors on all the windows for an additional one time cost of $85.00. There was no mention of any further fees or cost to our service.
    Several days later we saw on our credit card three charges from ADT $105, $85.00 and then another charge for $92.00 for specialty equipment. When we called to investigate they stated it was an the monthly fee for the specialty service equipment. In addition, they told us we were locked into a 36 month contract. When we asked to cancel the deal and they told us it had to be within 72 hours, even though we were still in our 7 day test period. Also, we have to pay them $4.95 and the price of a money order to get the $100 gift card thru the mail.
    When further questioning this system, they said they would come back on 1/26/19 an take out the wireless equipment and install wired equipment to our phone line, which does not give us remote access.

    The installation guy installed the panel before even discussing plan options first of all. Once we sat down to discuss sensors and such the price was COMPLETELY different from what I was quoted over the phone the main reason we were switching companies was to save money but in the end we are paying $20 more a month! After having the system for a year the alarm went off in the middle of the night indicating an intruder and the alert was tamper alarm. Come to find out the system was faulty! And continued to charge a service fee for a technician to come out to replace it!! I cannot wait for my contract to end. Never ever ever again will I do with adt. Save your time and your money and find another company

    I do not recommend this company if you don’t plan on using it forever. My husband sent in a letter of cancelation in December of 2018. I was charged for the month of January so I called the 866 # and spoke with a lady that told me she had everything taken care of. I found out the plan wasn’t canceled so I called a local Pearl, MS number. The customer service employee (Angela) laughed at me over the phone when I told her I wanted it canceled now and not in February. She then said she was laughing at something else. I told her I would not be paying for a second month of a service I have not used. She then got rude and told me that if I would let her talk (which I had not been yelling or talking over her) she could tell me that she took out my card information. I guess I’m supposed to trust a third time that my account is canceled. This is ridiculous!!! The customer service is TERRIBLE!!!

    I had ADT installed in my home in April of 2018. After discovering a problem with this system I contacted the company went through the troubleshooting steps with them to find out it doesn’t work. She put in a service call to send a technician out. The gentleman from ADT that came to service this system was pleasant and informative. He also found that the glass breaks were placed incorrectly and in fact would not detect anything, that the sensor batteries should last years not 8 months and the motion detector was not working, too high on the wall. He relocated the glass breaks, repositioned the motion detector, and changed out the door sensor on the back door and added a booster because the sensor signal was not strong enough. He did not replace all door sensors because it is the companies policy, that if works they can not update them. So all these months of paying ADT was for a system that was not installed correctly and was not covering my home. I had another issue this week after the ADT serviceman left where the a different door showed it was not working…again I went though the troubleshooting steps, finally calling ADT and bypassing that door. I eventually spoke to a supervisor where I made him aware of my displeasure He told me they would try to get someone out on Saturday, but it may be Tuesday morning because of the holiday. I received a automated call Monday evening letting me know that it would be in the afternoon 12-5pm that the tech would be there which is not right and I called yet again letting them know that was not acceptable I would not be available and was told they would be there in the AM. Quite frankly I was a little curt but the representative was arrogant. So again my home is not secured but I am being charged monthly and pay on time

    I switched from Vivint to ADT in November of 2018. I went with a big name brand company thinking I would get quality. Ha! It is January 21, 2019 and my system still doesn’t work properly. They have been to my home 5 times, made appointments they didn’t keep and told me I can’t cancel my contract because I wouldn’t be holding up my end. Well, they certainly have not held up their end. Don’t be fooled by this company. DON’T USE THEM!! Save yourself lots of money, frustration and time off of work,

    Since the system was installed in our house, we have had issues with ADT. Devices malfunctioning, batteries that needed to be replaced multiple times and still not fixed, random beeping that indicated trouble with no way to repair unless someone came to the house. Despite numerous and constant visits from different reps, nobody could ever figure out ‘the problem’ and instead blamed the other guy…the first guy…the last guy…always blame, never a solution. When finally, years later, I tried to cancel service, I was interrupted by, yelled at, and threatened by an actual supervisor. I actually asked LISA if the call was being recorded because I cannot imagine her boss being ok with how she treated me. They are trying to say I will still owe them $600 because why again? Well unbeknownst to me, when one of the reps was here 1.5 years ago, I apparently signed another contract which canceled out the first contract. Meaning that when I signed what I thought was an invoice for services rendered, I signed another 3 year contract. Not kidding. I will hire a lawyer before I pay it since I was never told that I signed a new extended contract. And never mind that still to this day the system continues to fail and nobody can decide what is wrong. More blame. More appointments. It is unreal.

    HORRIBLE!!!! THEY SELL YOU A BILL OF GOIDS (I was told 27.00 a month for monitoring. I was told no equipment costs and they’re now trying to charge 810.00. The signals aren’t going through, or they don’t respond … now they’re telling me I have to deal with their subcontractor ????? I don’t know them .. they had an adt shirt on. One showed up in a monster truck, no ID, and no appointment time and NO PHONE CALL!!! I’m beyond pissed. DO YOURSELF AFAVOR AND GO ELSEWHERE.

    Since the CO detectors and smoke detectors expire around 5 years – the company should have a regular replacement schedule for these and not wait for chirping to alert customers. AND replacement should be free ( if you’ve paid the subscription fee for 5 years, a free new detector is the least the company should do!)

    When we called about the chirping, they didn’t even tell us that the device expired. They kept telling us to replace the batteries. We did this repeatedly for months until i looked for customer reviews that taught me this. big fail ADT

    Absolutely worst customer service ever. I had the Pulse system installed in 2016. I had to cancel the service in 2018 for financial reasons. Because of recent break-ins in my area AND a home invasion down the street, I contacted ADT to reactivate my service. I was quoted a price with a 2 year contract and said it was too much. She “talked” to her manager to get me a lower price with a $25 reactivation fee. I said that I would think about it. She said that if I called back, she or her manager may not be in so she couldn’t guarantee the pricing. That was the first red flag. I still said I would think about it.

    At 8:30 the next morning, the local sales rep called to follow up. I told him about my conversation. He went to talk to HIS manager and gave me an even lower price with a one year contract. I said I would think about it. The next day, I received two emails confirming my appointment with a sales rep (!!?!) for the following day. I called the local sales rep back to complained. Red flag #2

    After this, I complained directly to the corporate office because it felt more like buying a used car than an alarm system. I immediately received a phone with a even better price and NO contract. Against my better judgement, I accepted the offer. I was up and running and would be invoiced. I logged in MyADT and then tried to log into Pulse but had forgotten my password…so requested a new one. I never received the email to change my password. I tried several times at different times during the day and STILL never got an email to change the password. Good thing it wasn’t an emergency. I contacted the corporate office again and actually got a call from someone in charge. By this time I realized that even if they gave me one year free service, I wouldn’t trust them to not bungle contacting the PD or FD. So incredibly unprofessional and untrustworthy. I still have the alarm iteself and am going just buy cameras.

    Please don’t believe all these items are mentioned on this page. ADT has one of the worst customer service in the world. Also, please don’t sign all the documents without knowing the fine print. ADT technicians also trained to sell products and provide all false information. Please do not fall in that trap. They have cheated me a big time. Their customer service people only trained to argue instead of taking care of customer needs and they don’t want to listen. Very very bad experience with the customer service. Once my contract ends with ADT, either me or my family or friends are not going to have ADT ever. I want to take them to court for false representation and I am gathering all the information. There are other services with either no contract or less contract terms so spend some time to research.

    This people are thieves. They come to your place, install stuffs without your approval and then sit with you yo explain very expensive and stupid plans afterwards (trying to trick you). In my case i was in my bedroom because i have a newborn baby and i left the guy sitting on the living room and he started installing everything without asking me and half of the sensors he installed never worked. He left telling me he will fix them the next day which he didn’t. This people have a policy of 3 days supposedly try free so this guy was waiting so this expires and i cannot cancel the contract but i canceled this first anyways because system never worked. They charged me anyways 309 and 107 of installation fees and this guy did not installed the service correctly only half.     This is a trap for consumers. The actual install and get it up is done by an unknown company called Defenders – when there is an issue in first 90 days they are responsible, but when someone is on line no supervisor will come to assist. The sign up process is revealed one step at a time and eventually leads to a document that is long and complex. After almost 10 days and 4 attempts the system is incomplete and not what we ordered. The technician has blown 2 input pads and waiting for a third one – says they are out of stock. ADT Corporate will not interfere for 90 days as they are only a monitoring service. Corporate America has no problems with shameful behavior.

    Very disappointed with the call centre and technicians. However, after investing days of time accomodating numerous house calls, I finally got someone who knew what they were doing and they rectified the problem. I’ve been trying for over a week now to speak to someone in management to voice my concerns and after repeated promises to call me – nothing. Crickets. The call centre for the most part is OK but one individual went right to my contract obligation when I asked them to take my camera back (hasn’t worked for 2 months) and adjust my bill given they couldn’t get it to work. On the other hand, their US affiliate – Alarm.com – that provides the mobile app is excellent to deal with. Much work needed with ADTs management, Call Centre and technician training.

    We got some help from Taibat tonight. She was very helpful. Our fire alarm batteries were running low and we didnt want our ADT alarm to go off when we tried changing the batteries. She was able to help us through the process and stayed on the phone with us until it was all clear. She was very nice and professional.

    Read the cards so fast I could not understand. When I had questions they said it would all be handled when a technician came out to show me their equipment. I asked another question about video recordings and got some of the same speech I heard twice before. I wanted information and all the lady on the phone wanted is to close a deal.

    No customer service, no answering questions, just close the deal.

    When I started service with ADT it was 11-15-2015 and it was a three year contract to end on 11-15 2018..But in 2017 after receiving my monthly bill I noticed it kept going up in price..I called ADT to complain about my bill increasing each month and little did I know that they lowered my bill but entered me in another contract that I did not wont or ask for.. ADT sent me no paper work saying that they extended my contract..I have turned 65 and retired and will be moving soon.I called ADT and explained this to them or I tried to explain it to them.Now they want me to pay 1,112.00 to end a contract I didnt even know I had until recent.

    The only reason I give it a one is that the service works, but it is impossible to get the $100 gift card. I have called 5 times & get the run around. One time I got sent to 10 different people on the phone. Do not expect them to follow through on what they promised

    I had ADT at 2 different homes. It has taken me years to stop service after my contract was over. Years and thousands of dollars. I have sent certified letters, emails, too many phone calls to count, called credit card company to stop payments and they still keep billing me even though I no longer have the service and haven’t fo years. I have neighbors who have similar horror stories. Going to an attorney today to get them to wrote a letter.

    Devices are failing one by one. We had ADT since 2005. They are unable to fix one of the devices after four visits (over a month) and just disabled it. The system sometimes reports a device fault up to three times in a row. Like an echo. The service tech said that most issues are their aging equipment (Honeywell WiFi) and the FCC only has a narrow select of 2.4GB WiFi for them to use, so neighboring 2.4g WiFi usage interferes with the ADT WiFi system. Making false reports and erroneous errors. Just is not the “Peace of Mind” security that we are paying for! They just excused the failing equipment instead of resolving the problems. A manger told them to disconnect the failed device that they could’t fix (worked well since 2005). What kind of customer support is that? Don’t use this product! Unless they fix their support issues.

    Terrible customer service and no matter if you have signed a 3 year contact, they raise your monthly charge after 2 years and when you call the answer is “it is on your contract with fine prints that we will raise your monthly charge”. Do yourself a favor and look for another company and it will be much cheaper and better

    ADT price gouges customers and many of their technicians have no real clue when there is a problem how to fix it. I am in a rural location but have had their service before through USAA in a rural location and it was fine, but this time it’s awful.
    The customer service isn’t great, they cop an attitude, their techs talk a lot and do little to resolve the issue. Also their monitoring service is quite pricy. I will start looking at do it yourself systems and other systems that are monitored. ADT might have been the best in the past but now most of their employees are looking for a paycheck, not helping customers.

    The salesman sold us a bill of goods for $3000 upfront costs, what a fool I am. He told us oh- if you move you can take the equipment with you! HA! it does not work that way. So we moved and the cancellation fee is over $800 or you have to continue the service on a NEW 3 year contract… I do not want these yeahoos in my home every again! PLEASE research before you sign with ADT All Dead Tome…

    My service with ADT started on 11-15-2015 it was a three year contract and was to end on 11-15-2018..But in 2017 I noticed that my monthly bill was increasing each month ..So I called ADT and the agent on the phone said he would lower my bill per month. Little did I know that he entered me in another contract. I signed no contract in 2017 nor did I agree to another contract .I simply called to dispute My bill increasing per month.. I received no paper work or calls from ADT alerting me to this new contract. Now I have retired and will be moving.. When I called ADT to cancel service I was told I would have to pay 1,112.00 to stop my contract.. I fell that the criminals I was protecting my house from work at ADT..I believe in word of mouth advertising and I have a BIG MOUTH..

    Don’t be fooled by the name, you don’t get a better service from ADT. They attract your attention by offering a competitive rate initially, but then raise the rate like crazy, and the service is no different than others. I would not recommend ADT. I also agree with some of the reviews that they are not honest with you.

    Honestly I’m shocked at how this company is operating. Got it installed less than a week ago. Panel is not working. Called ADT, apparently it’s not their responsibility. Customer service is horrendous! They told me a different company is responsible for their equipment. So maybe some day someone will give me a call to schedule a booking for a technician to come by. They, however, can not do anything. The system worked for 3 days out of 7 days and they told me they can credit me for …..wait for it…15 dollars.
    Please save yourself the trouble and stay away from this inapt completely useless company that knows how to take your money but is not responsible for their equipment.

    This company is very deceptive. They advertise rates of $29.99/m for 2 yrs but my friends get a magnifying glass & read the fine print which says – only with telephone Land Line. I missed the fine print and called to engage only to be asked “Do you have a land line?” With my “No” answer he said the rate is $52+/month. (Actually ended up with $57+)
    CS said I had 60 days to cancel if not satisfied & the technition who installed the equipment confirmed when I asked However on the 10th day when I called to cancel I was told the 3-day deadline was passed. When I objected & said I was told 60 days I was asked “Didn’t you read the contract before signing? Who does – there needs to be trust between Co & client!
    I contacted Customer Loyalty & a unsympathetic Carlos just blew me away. How much to cancel? I would have to pay off the 36 m contract.

    Very disappointing service. To be honest, I hate ADT and Safe Haven Security services. The agent came in without explaining the contract fully first. We got the service, but panel kept failing. We asked technicians to fix it for us, and it seemed to working for awhile. Now it’s failing again, so I called. They want another service fee!!!! Now i want to terminate the service, but asking for another money (terminate fee!!!!)

    If the agents do not have knowledge to share about the contract policy, why do they ask for us to read the contract? Very misleading and worst service ever! I will never recommend ADT and safe haven security service with any of my friends or neighbors. Please try your best to avoid them!!!

    Now I have no choice sticking with this company for next 2 years. I will not ask technician to come and fix our panel, and let’s see what they do about it.
