About Vermont
Vermont can easily be defined as a state of contrast. While it is one of the most rural states in the U.S. it is also one of the most politically liberal.
The main area where it lacks contrast is in ethnicity where 96% of the population is white. It is famous worldwide for its maple syrup, producing hundreds of thousands of gallons every year, Vermont has also found its niche in the dairy industry with leading brands in ice cream and cheeses.
Tourism is a major industry for Vermont mainly made up by skiers, hunters and fishermen.
In this highly diverse and likable state, its low crime rates make it a more enjoyable place to visit or live.
Violent crimes are less than half of the national average. Hate crimes land just a couple marks above the national average with sexual orientation based crimes standing out against the others.
Property crime rates are also well below the national average.
