  • Consistent Protection: Vector Security provides regional and national security monitoring services to both individual and business clients through the use of landline and cellular monitoring systems. These systems ensure that service is never lost due to technical issues with phone lines or the power grid.
  • False Alarm Protocol: Vector Security has also been recognized nationally for its false alarms protocols which greatly reduce expense for homeowners and authorities alike.
  • Home Automation: In addition to some impressive home security features, Vector Security also provides automated devices that can be controlled by a mobile app. Customers can monitor and control lighting, appliances, locks, and cameras. Vector Security’s CloudControl feature allows customers to save recorded security camera footage to a cloud account. Other home security companies may require you to save videos to a personal computer, or another location with much more limited memory.
  • Monthly Monitoring Fees: For basic home security and automation, Vector Security charges $39.95/month without charging andy upfront fees.
  • Contract: Vector Security requires customers to sign up for a 36-month contract, while other companies provide much shorter contracts or no contracts at all. And if customers desire to cancel their services before the contract expires, they will be required to pay 100% of the remaining balance, which could potentially cost hundreds of dollars. Other companies only require 20% to 80% of the balance.
  • Customer Complaints: Vector Security consistently has problems with customer service. These problems stem from personal accounts and not from the business or national accounts. As such, it would appear that the company is far more concerned with major accounts than with the individual customer.
  • Our Recommendation: Due to relatively high monitoring costs and poor customer service, we recommend looking into companies like Protect America and Frontpoint.

    Asked a question about service end date and got a smart answer about submit the request in writing. I then asked for them to submit my end date in writing and never got it. A few weeks later they stopped my service and had a collection agency after me for the balance of the contract. I would not reccomend them.

    Horrible customer service. The seller gave me a false promotion. The cancellation was ridiculous. The alarm never worked. The people that came to do the service for fix the alarm were very unprofessional.

    I was with Victor Security for 15+ years and when I sold my home they informed my I would have to pay the 14 months (roughly $700) on my contract even without any service. I received a message from Vector Security informing me that every three years they would replace the smoke detectors they installed in my home free. So I said sure and they replaced approximately 4 or 5 smoke detectors. I call them and told them I had sold my home and wanted to discontinue the service in a month or so. The customer service rep I spoke to said that I had to pay the remaining 14 months on my contract and the only other option I had was to move the service to my new location. I told them I didn’t recall renewing any contract and I was informed when they replaced the smoke detectors my contract was renewed. I told them I was not made aware of that when I agreed to the have the smoke detectors replaced, which If I did it on my own I could have gone to Home Depot and purchase the detectors they replaced for under $200. I told them after 15+ years I certainly had paid for the initial equipment installed. I wasn’t getting anywhere with Customer Service!! I was so angry I told them I would not move the service. and I did not want anything to do with their firm ever again. I paid the $700 rather than continue to use their service. They wouldn’t let me move the equipment to my new location and I could decide after the 14 months weather to continue with the service. Customer Service told me if I they moved the equipment to my new location I would have to sing another 3 year contract. Vector Security is a terrible company and I would not use them again if they were the only alarm company left in the world!!! I signed up with another alarm company with a lot better terms and conditions and Price!!!!!!

    I have had Vector Security for 3 years and will be cancelling at the end of the contract year this year.

    On two occasions I have had one of the tamper buttons malfunction which requires a technician to come out to the house. The malfunction causes the main panel located in the bedroom to every five minutes beep. Vector technicians cannot override this, the best they can do is to show you have to stop it for 4 hours, which means you will be waken in the middle of the night by the beeping and have to do the manual override again.

    Then to make matter worse they only are in the town of Charlotte twice a week and only have two technicians so you have to wait for someone to come out to your house for days to fix it. Then when the guy shows up, he doesn’t call in advance or call when he arrives. If you don’t answer the door he simply tags your door and leave. This is even if you have requested that they call you before arriving.

    There is a reason why people go with the other companies. I never had this type of problem when I was with ADT. They always got someone over to fix my system.

    Also note, when your contract term is up, the contract automatically renews for 1 year instead of providing you the ability to cancel at any time after your initial contract term.

    Vector security needs to revise thier entire business structure, they lock you in to a 3 year plan which if you are not pleased with the service you are stuck with, network interruptions, false alarms, dead batteries in the unit and the key FOBs are a constant issue, service call fees are outrageous as well as monitoring fees, after contract expires canceling the auto renewal is a nightmare! Why would one pay over $40 per month when newer companies charge $15. With no crazy 3 year lock in? I had $3000 worth of security cameras installed. By them and received no customer support when I was having an issue with them, could find no one who knew how to solve the problem then informed me that if they were to come out it would be a $100 trip fee,

    The worst company i habe ever had to deal with had a agreement for payment to come out on the 23rd of every month they jiat takw when ever they felt like it.. Not i put a stop to that.. Not only that but thw equipment doesnt work.. When u call an tell them they told me it waa my internet false i have the highest speed available an i even called my cable company.. They ran test after test came out N check all my equipment they told me it had to be the security company.. Its hard to get them to fix anything.. It shouldn’t take 10-15 mins after to notify me someone went on my house.. My mother’s car got broken into .. Guess what “vector security system failed us.. Nothing on the cameras.. Just a horrible company.. Dont waste ur time

    ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE COMPANY. 3 days after setting alarm off I AM STILL waiting on service call. My husband had to totally disconnect the system AFTER 3HOURS with the alarm going off.

    Either do not have the man power needed to answer the phones or they really do not care about their customers. Failing in all aspects, even the technicians have a hard time getting in-touch with supervisor to get orders. Very good at making sure they get pay!!!

    Vector is pathetic. I have called and called to cancel my subscription to this company. I was assured it was canceled and even had the system shut off yet I’m still being charged monthly for a system that is shut off. I have called and left messages with supervisors of whom I was told would get back to me ASAP yet i still have yet to hear from them. This is a scandalist company and if i am charged yet again next month, i will be blasting them all over social media and regular media.

    Very good service with this company. Tech was amazing and was on time. Love my new system, very simple and easy! I can send demands from my phone to my panel and it works automatically. I love it and will recommend using this company.

    Let me start by saying that I am not a complainer. I am a very easy going laid back guy…But my experience with your company has me very, very upset. So here is my experience with your company. Keep in mind this is my first impression and interaction with Vector Securities.

    I set an appointment over a week ago for installation of 2 Bluetooth AC thermostat controls and a new alarm system. The first appointment was cancelled by a guy named Doug the day before they were coming out. However, I did have the appointment rescheduled and the alarm and 2 Bluetooth AC systems installed this past Friday January 11th. The gentleman whom installed the unit set them to 75 degrees (which I requested). I noticed on the remote phone application that the house was at 54 on one unit and 61 on the other unit throughout the day. They were set to 75 degrees at approximately 9:20am. I also explained that the alarm wasn’t working and although it said “ARMED”, it also said “ZONE 1 OPENED”. On Friday a few hours after installation I called several times to ask what was going on. I spoke to the guy named Doug again who was out of the Fort Lauderdale branch of your company. This was the same guy that cancelled the first appointment I had scheduled last week. I spoke to Doug 5 times on Friday. The last time was at 4:58pm. I explained that my daughter (14 years old) and I were wearing sweatshirts and jackets because the systems were stuck at 61 and 54 degrees (as he acknowledged himself by looking at the remote application-see Pics 1,2&3). Doug asked for my number and said “I promise I got you on this, I’m going to speak to my lead technician and I will call you back in 10 minutes, don’t worry, I got you, we will fix this immediately). Well, I think we know how this ended….i called back about 30 minutes later to see what was going on and I got the answering service whom said they were closed and to call back Monday.

    Doug left us without a care in the world so he could enjoy his weekend. I am disgusted with the lack of concern (considering there was a minor child involved) and commitment to follow through. In addition to all of the above, the system was installed in a way that damaged my door frame. It was a very unprofessional installation (see Pic 4&5). In addition to that, the installer also didn’t use the same “new parts” for installation (on one thermostat he used my old backing plate and on the other he used a new one, see Pics 6&7).

    I ended up speaking to a Michelle on the service line whom explained that both Doug and the installer gave me improper directions on how to set the zone temperature. After speaking with Michelle the temperature issue was fixed in 2 minutes….but she did take my number and told me that someone would call me that Friday night about the alarm (nobody called and still hasn’t).

    This by far has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I just thought you should know about how first impressions can be damaging. I was warned by neighbors not to use Vector due to the terrible service. I brushed it off and this is what I am now dealing with. As of today I still have yet to hear from someone about any of this.

    Please let me know how to proceed with fixing this disaster.

    I had a contract for 3 years. Attempted to cancel prior to the term because of poor service and poor response times. I was informed that I had to pay an exorbitant termination but could cancel once my contract termed without any additional fees. I waited and continued to n an automatic payment as agreed with the understanding that the service will be cancelled at the end of term. 2 months after the contract termed I receive a bill saying that my auto payment was denied. I called to see why they were still billing me and Jeffrey in the Retention dept at 800-458-7194 informs me that my contract automatically renewed for another year and that I would again incur a termination fee if I cancel this service. They are legitimately true scammers that have mitigated for all of the possible ways to screw someone that no longer want to continue with service. DO NOT USE VECTOR SECURITY SERVICES!!!

    Vector is the worst security system ever!!! We hadn’t been in our home 1 day when the sales rep knocked on the door. They talk a good talk, but fail tremendously at customer service. First time our alarm went off, they called 4th contact, then third. Never once did they call us. We signed a 5 year contract not knowing we would be selling our home of 6 months and moving out of the country. Oh boy, that’s when the big trouble began. Didn’t want to let us out of contract even if we didn’t own the home!!! WHAT??? They do NOT return your calls. Husband had to go to office, made him wait for almost an hour. Finally after 3 visits, my husband had to give them 1000.00 to break contract. They wanted the full 5 years! Then they wouldn’t stop the automatic withdrawal after many more phone calls and visits. They assured us the withdrawals would stop. They didnt, we called owner, said he would take care of it, he didn’t and never called back. They never return any phone calls, then treat you poorly when you call again or show up. After one phone call to our attorney, amazing our refund was credited within 2 business days. They never thought my husband would go that route. Attorney told us if we had any more issues to give him a call and we would and could definitely sue this company! Stick with the pros. Worst experience ever. Stay away from this company. They are trained hardcore on the word NO!!! Now, let’s see what happens for the month of January.

    Sep 2017 installed. Biggest mistake ever. WORST COMPANY EVER!!! System hasn’t worked properly since day 1. Techs came out a number of times to get it to work.
    Numerous techs been send out delete and Re install equipment and still issues.
    Last tech exchanged sensor now alarm goes off any time of day and night. Alert the police. Police came out 6 times in past 6 weeks false alarms.
    Door bell camera changed 4 times now replaced with camera that doesn’t work when trying to view. Camera acing the door looking out the window. Ghetto!!!!
    Customer service rep winters Clint states if I pay 600$ the company will release me out of the contract.
    living alone hearing the alarm go off at night is very scary not knowing if someone is or isn’t in the home. I was told to not set the alarm or bypass the doors with the issues. I pay my entire bill 100%. I should get the 100% service the advertised. Bypass doors. Don’t set alarm. What kind of advice is that??? Hands down worst company ever. In search of the best lawyer. I rather pay them then Vector one more dime.
