  • Consistent Protection: Vector Security provides regional and national security monitoring services to both individual and business clients through the use of landline and cellular monitoring systems. These systems ensure that service is never lost due to technical issues with phone lines or the power grid.
  • False Alarm Protocol: Vector Security has also been recognized nationally for itsĀ false alarms protocols which greatly reduce expense for homeowners and authorities alike.
  • Home Automation: In addition to some impressive home security features, Vector Security also provides automated devices that can be controlled by a mobile app. Customers can monitor and control lighting, appliances, locks, and cameras. Vector Security’s CloudControl feature allows customers to save recorded security camera footage to a cloud account. Other home security companies may require you to save videos to a personal computer, or another location with much more limited memory.
  • Monthly Monitoring Fees: For basic home security and automation, Vector Security charges $39.95/month without charging andy upfront fees.
  • Contract: Vector Security requires customers to sign up for a 36-month contract, while other companies provide much shorter contracts or no contracts at all. And if customers desire to cancel their services before the contract expires, they will be required to pay 100% of the remaining balance, which could potentially cost hundreds of dollars. Other companies only require 20% to 80% of the balance.
  • Customer Complaints: Vector Security consistently has problems with customer service. These problems stem from personal accounts and not from the business or national accounts. As such, it would appear that the company is far more concerned with major accounts than with the individual customer.
  • Our Recommendation: Due to relatively high monitoring costs and poor customer service, we recommend looking into companies like Protect America and Frontpoint.

    Horrible company. System has not worked since July 21. 2017 yet after several request to fix it still does not function. Calls to cancel either don't get returned or when you reach someone are useless.today I was informed they extended my contract another year even though it does not function. Looks to be a court case soon!Read More

    Absolutely hands down the worst security company I have ever dealt with. The customer service staff is so unprofessional and rude. I really believe the devices are just props. My doorbell camera will send 75+ notifications for one incident ie. motion or ring. The customer service( if that's what you want to call them) says to me "so you don't want to receive notifications on your phone?" Ummm... I would love to receive notifications just not 75 of them for one ring or motion. Driveway camera does not pick up motion. As a matter of fact someone broke into my husbands truck and when we checked the cameras, it showed nothing. Poor equipment, poor monitoring and poor customer service. Do yourself a favor and don't go with them.Read More

    I rented a house with a system in it, when my wife requested a new key FOB they renewed the entire contract. After moving I provided them with a copy of my military orders and tried to cancel services, I was unable to do so. They have been contacting me and sending me bills for over $500 stating that I am contractually obligated. They are ignoring the Soldier Sailor Civil Relief Act and harassing me non-stop. The home owner has even contacted them and told him that it is house and that he is responsible for the system since he had it installed. Still yet the continue to pursue me. If you find a house for rent with one of these systems do not rent it, run away from this company, do not do business with them if you are in the Military, they do not care about military and the difficulties that come with moving frequently. They are sub par at best!

    Have in email writing a commitment from their team to change a part without obligation. When I would not sign new contract they took back commitment. I have been a customer for 3 years, since 2012. Customer Service rep April emailed me saying that they wanted to change the cell communicator in our house for the alarm system. I said I was not ready to sign a new contract and had to think about what I wanted to do. I received this email from Vector Employee stating: “If you do not wish to re sign at this time, we can still proceed with the upgrade. Just let me know what day/time would be convenient for us to schedule a tech. Thanks. April Perkins” I then proceeded to look into other alarm company options and found that many other companies had much better offerings, and I stated this to April in email. Asked if there was any better they could do to lower our price or offer more services for the same price. We did come to a good solution, and I said that I still needed to talk it over with my wife, but that they could still come out and change the part as they said they would without “re sign”(ing). In 2 emails I stated my clear intentions: “Hi April, thanks for talking to the manager. I need to talk it over with my wife.” Email 2 followed immediately: “Sorry, and you can come and change out the cell comm anytime. I am here today all day.” Never did I mention I would sign a contract after I stated “I need to talk it over with my wife.” They sent a tech out to change the part, I was leaning toward going with the price and options they presented to me, but when I stated the confusion in resigning now, a manager called the tech and said to leave, and that “he can call us when he is ready to sign”, which I heard him say on the phone to the tech. I feel it is an over promise and under delivery, and both times in these three years I have had contact with them, it has not turned out well for me.

    This company sucks… I was in service over see when my wife called this company …. My wife with limited English asked for Spanish spoken man… They brought her English Version form of contract and they made her to initial all the paragraphs that were in it ….. The system was damage four years ago and I was calling them to cancel the service but I was told the contract have been enforced for five years and if I want to cancel it I have to pay the hole amount of the remains of the contract period… I never used the system since… But I still pay for the system …… I’m highly not recommend this company for anybody… Because they are a thieves.

    Well first off come to find out that I am on a 5 year contract and the guy that signed me up failed to mention that. Second I had nothing but bad experience with the system despite the fact that a tech came multiple times. When I called I was told that I am pretty much stuck paying until the contract is over. I am in the military and I know realtors I will make sure everyone knows how vector security is. I will also file a complaint here on post

    We chose Vector after extensive research including advice from a security expert with his own company. The installation took 3 days and couldn’t have been less intrusive. The team was knowledgeable, available to answer questions, cleaned up after themselves and walked us through how to arm and disarm the system. Our local library uses Vector and I am one of the backup contacts when the alarm sounds and the library is closed. The Vector telephone operators are always efficient, professional, polite, and informative.

    I have had a pretty good experience with Vector Security/Esecurity Group in the year or so that I’ve had it. Installation of the device was very simple and the ability to access and control the system on the go via the mobile app is really helping a need. I definitely feel better about the house being protected. The team helped me out on the initial purchase and setup as well as the battery going dead not too long ago. Other than the battery dying, I’ve had no real issues on them. So far customer support is great. The system is very easy to set up, very understandable, easy to manage, and a great peace of mind.

    i have had vector security at both my homes,one in pennsylvania and west virginia for 8 years,the company is excellent in my opinion.never a problem.the system works extremely well,very easy to use,occassionally, usually in the fall a mouse will get indoors and set off the motion detectors and vector and the police response is always first rate.i have nothing but praise for this security company.i think they are the best.

    THIS COMAPANY SUCKS. THEY ARE LIARS AND THEIVES…

    STAY AWAY FROM!!!

    I have had Vector for ALMOST one month and have been lied to the entire time. I was promised 1st month free, cost me 49.99. I was promised 100.00 for a referral. They sent me a check for 70.00 and said my referral got the other 30.00. I checked with the referral who happens to be my sister and she 1. was also promised the first month free. (did not get) and did not get an additional month for the 30.00 they owe me.
    I also have a video system with them. Serves absolutely no purpose unless someone is at the house to unplug and re plug it in if the power goes out or even flickers. (happens all the time here) That is the only way to reset the Wi-Fi on the camera. My Wi-Fi automatically reconnects and I feel their camera should also. I was not told that. The door alarms are falling off of the doors. The last time the service man came out, he has been here now 4 times in under a month. I was told he would be back to place a battery back up with the Wi-Fi camera. They did NOT even show up. I would NEVER suggest Vector to anyone and WARN people against it.
    When I told them I did not want their services, I was informed they would see me in court. I have blocked all payments to them with my bank and will gladly see them in court.

    VECTOR IS A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!!

    DO NOT USE VECTOR! THEY ARE LIARS and in my opinion, THEIVES.

    The experience we have had with this company has been a complete nightmare! The company E-Security Group an authorized dealer of Vector is a bunch of bumbling idiots! The sales person, Eira Salas, although seemingly experienced, is not much more than a liar and a fraud. We were told that for $39.99 a month we would be receiving new equipment at installation, however the contract was not written up this way, but to use our existing equipment and adding only 2 sensors, which according to Veronica in the local office offered no warranty. This was offered to us at the sales pitch for what should have been a $19.99 a month installation job. When the technician arrived at our home, without a courtesy call, he was obviously not prepared with the amount of equipment necessary nor the time to complete the job properly, which, according to him, should have been written up for 15 sensors and a day of install – not a couple of hours. Additionally he informed us that he was the ONLY installer, because the other installer QUIT because of these types of contract errors. After some time of talking with Veronica in the local office, we agreed into having him return. A confirmation call was never made so when I called for confirmation at 4:55 p.m. I was told the morning was NOT available and it could not be completed until 3:00 p.m. the following afternoon! With many calls back and forth we finally decided to cancel the contract, in which I was informed that they would remove what they had installed, but would not replace what they had removed, after looking in a box left in my closet,all I found was a bunch of equipment that had been destroyed. The equipment was left in tiny pieces to ensure that NO ONE could re-install it. The whole system is now destroyed completely unusable.. When I called the parent company the gentleman that I spoke with laughed when I told him the story, and gladly walked me through the cancellation process! Only time will tell if I am billed and/or if they come to remove the half job that was started and never finished in my home.

    Worst billing department ever! These people billed my credit card for over six months…when service had been cancelled. Has taken a month so far to get the refund….still waiting…They wouldn’t give me a phone number to the corporate office because, “They wont talk with you because you are not an employee.” What??? I will reverse the charges on my credit card and let them fight it out.

    Signed with United Security company in 1999. Vector purchased this company and has NEVER allowed me to cancel service with them; stating the contract carries over. Do not sign with this company, you are hooked for life.

    Our family was transferred by my husband’s company to another region. Both GMAC Relocation Services and Chubb Insurance required that we maintain security service on the property. Six months later, we sold the property to GMAC Relocation Services and after that were no longer responsible for the bills. Unfortunately, until I received a bill from Vector, the security system service did not enter my mind.

    On February 1, I spoke with Stephanie at Vector who indicated that we had not cancelled the contract. She also informed me that because the contract was renewed until August that it was necessary for me to pay over $800 in order to cancel the service. I told her that the property was sold to GMAC relocation services on January 10 and I was no longer the owner and therefore could not utilize the service. I also requested to see a copy of the contract that stated that I signed which renewed for three years and also indicated an 80% buyout.

    On February 4, I received a copy of the contract. She had highlighted the renewal section which does state that it self-renews according to the original terms. However, in the preceding section, I noticed that starting and ending dates of the initial term were blank. I am not an attorney, so I did not notice this. Additionally, there is no provision in this contract that allows for a person to move nor is there anything about an 80% buyout.

    When I called the company and spoke with the manager (she identified herself as Jen), she stated that the security service was just like a cell phone. If I had lost my cell phone, I would be responsible for the contract. While theoretically that is true, I would be able to replace my cell phone and still utilize the service. The security system, unlike the cell phone cannot be taken from one property to the next. I cannot put the security system into the moving boxes and use it in another home.

    Vector Security’s contract discriminates against those individuals who have been transferred by their companies or people who decide just to move While I could have cancelled my contract in August, my insurance company and GMAC Relocation service required that I maintain security on my residence. To force me to pay hundreds of dollars for a service that 1) I can no longer utilize and 2) no longer own (as of January 10), I feel is unconscionable.

    This company continues to lie promises not true to there word. I had to wait and continue to wait to receive there service in April 2014 and the problems began in May 2014. Continue to make calls and they do not return your calls made a complaint against them with the BBB. They do not live up to what they say they will do TERRIBLE company. They only care about how much money they can make off of people.

    Never had an issue with their service until I went to cancel. After completing my contract I went to a month to month contract. I’m military and received orders. I called to cancel and was told that even though I was on a month to month they would need a copy of my orders before they would cancel my service.

    As a former technician with vector security for over 8 years I would like to warn potential customers about the bad business practices this company has. The salesman will add into your contract equipment that is not needed on jobs just to increase their commission. Sometimes as much as $2000 worth of equipment that is not needed. They will also sell you monthly plans that they know you do not need. Take it from me who saw all this happen everyday. The customer trusted the salesman to give them a honest quote and in turn they were robbed of their hard earned money . If you choose to go with this company please pay attention to what you are buying and also your monthly monitoring rate . I would personally stay far far away from this company and their terrible business practice!!

    My 89 year old father signed up with Vector when a salesman came by his home. His contract with another company was supposed to be over in 3 to 4 months. The salesman said they would cover the cost of the former contract. I called Vector and was told that yes they would take care of it. It did not happen. The sales person said with a slightly larger monthly fee they would add a feature so I could use my cell phone to adjust my Dads thermostat at home but never explained how it would work. My father died and they still continue to take money out of my account. I never signed Vectors contract but was paying the bill for my Dad so he would be protected. Even after faxing my Dads death certificate I was told by their rep that they would keep taking my payment even though my Dad was the customer signing the contract. I have left messages and nobody will return my calls. They should return the months of payments since my Dad passed away but they refuse. They have shown very little concern for good business practices so beware before you believe what they tell you to get you as a customer. They are unscrupulous.

    Vector Security has been a great security service for our company. We have had them over 5 years and on a few occasions, they have come to the rescue for our office. We are located in an urban area, and we could not be more satisfied with the response time, peace of mind and service this security firm as given our company. They are the best.

    Vector has gone above and beyond to give us 2 new security systems. They beat competitors prices and did the entire job for both our business and our personal home seamlessly. The staff and the crew that set everything up could not be more professional. WE are very thankful that they have done a great job for us. WE have referred them to our neighbors and colleagues!

    Vector Security was a life-saver!!!! There was a burglary on my street. Intruders were breaking into garages and stealing cars, all over the community. No security company would come right away when we called. Vector Security came to the rescue and sent the support we needed to our home the same day I called. I would strongly recommend Vector for home security. The company is first class!

    WORSE SECURITY SYSTEM FOR HOME USERS, Not customer friendy. With the company for 5 years, tried to upgrade my system with a rep in the neighborhood, more interested in new accounts. Went with a competitor, tried to end service, a nightmare, received run around, called customer service twice,no call back until the third time around. In the interim, faxed a service termination letter to an office found via Google. Received a monthly bill, called the local office, told to ignore it until /i get afinal bill. Instead received acollections form letter indicating I was in defaut of the contract, service had been terminated, must submit a final payment for the duration of the contract (4 months of service) becuase they automatically renew your contract.

    DO NOT USE VECTOR SECURITY. Bottom line – it is not a reputable company. Before signing a contract with them do an internet search and you will find that Vector Security is an awful company.

    We upgraded our security system buying a comprehensive package Vector Security in January 2013. We have had endless trouble with virtually all components ever since. From smoke alarms that their own technicians tell us was wrongly installed by them to key pads that weren’t hooked up correctly–the list goes on and on. I want to burn my Vector security home sign in effigy. Don’t use Vector Security.

    Vector Security seemed like the way to go until we realized they screwed up our contract and made my Wife’s grandmother responsible for our account. As I spoke to the sales man, We told him our grandmother used Vector in her home and he then offered us and her 3 free months of monitoring if my Wife’s grandmother co-signed for us, we all agreed. We have yet to see a bill (we were installed Dec 2012). We just received notice from my Wife’s grandmother that her bill has more than doubled. After looking into it, she is being billed for our service. After calling into Vector Billing, we were told that my wife’s grandmother is the contract holder for our account… not the co-signer. Thinking back on the conversations I had with the sales man for Vector, I remember him telling us that if we signed with him before the first of the year, then he would meet his quota for the year. This is all telling me that he set it up this way to insure his bonus. This is not how good business should be done and I recommend that anyone looking for a security system for their home to look somewhere else.
